Ties That Bind - Page 12 WIP (Pencils) (Patreon)

Finished these pencils up on Sunday, but Monday was so dang busy at work that I didn't have time to share it with you all!

Pencils for page 12! 

I've got lots of up-and-down feelings about this one so far. Lots I'd like to redraw. Like the arm in the first panel (I've redrawn it several times now and it still looks weirdsies?) Or some of the camera angles - feeling a little... flat. But I don't want to rework forever, so am just gonna move forward and see how it washes out as I ink it.

At the very least the beats for the page feel good and intense. So even if some of the anatomy isn't perfect, I think the page will land. Let me know what you think! I'm excited for this intense 'kiss' moment =D

Owens looking so hunky in the first panel and all that heavy kissing is looking so damn👌✨ I see that branded bun in the corner. Don’t think it’s not being eyed thoroughly. Good stuff. Good stuff. ha! I lvoe how many people here love the doodle =D I don't think I own the idea of a Tied-up Judy Service situation. In my head I figured Owen and Nick had taken her to a predator's sex-club place for her birthday or something. They blindfolded her and walked away but are keeping an avid eye on her to make sure nobody does anything out-of-place ;D

Gosh, I'm embarrassed to expand on it. But... I think that maybe the camera angles are a little bit uninspired, profile-y and basic? I want to be doing awesome things, and sometimes I realize I've laid out my panels very... traditionally, and it demoralizes me a bit? Getting into the dirt: Owens arm on panel 1; even though I used reference looks... off to me. Nicks background face looks odd there too - and I want to redraw both. Then their legs and feet in the two last panels are my bane: If I stick to the movie reference they ought to have these tinnnny legs. But it looks WEIRD to draw them with short legs sitting like they are. BUT it also looks ultra weird to give them long human legs. SO I keep fiddling with it all, and it all feels... so inconsistent to me! I hate the idea that the context and words alone carry the page; and in this instance, I thinkkk that might be happening. I might also just have been looking at the page too long, and can't see the woods from the trees. Focusing on the things I LIKE: I like that squished cartoony Judy face - I feel like those eyes need to be dialed in, but the mouth is fun! I really like the zoomed out panel for it's timing effect; it feels like the kiss lasts a while. AND I love the 'hand-on-thigh' action of the last panel - although... maybe Nick is TOO shocked? I'll see how I feel about it as I ink.

That’s looking pretty good xD About his arm, I think if you give him more triceps and a bit larger shoulder it works better, right now only his biceps are big, and it might be the reason why it looks a bit off, if you also increase a bit of his triceps and shoulder it might look more natural and balanced making his whole arm appear bigger/muscular.

*gasp* I. Love. This. IDEA!!! Also the doodle with the dick by her face is… !!!!>.< So now I’m not only looking forward to this page and the remaining pages, but also whenever you decide to make these doodles into a main story beat. That idea sounds extremely interesting though… I would honestly love to see her in a sex club scenario getting taken advantage of. Also would love a DP scene eventually… BUT what you are doing right now is fantastic work. Just letting you know that your little doodles and ideas do not go unnoticed. ;p lol

Keep it up then! More small doodles like that are great to have next to this wonderful comic. ^^ P.S.: Thinking about it, are we gonna get a page that shows us Judys fantasy, like how we saw Nicks a few pages ago?

Oh! I hadn't planned for it in this chapter! But I think that could be a cool thing to draw up in general. Maybe as an in-between-chapters-QnA answer? I'd been thinking of giving her a short chapter after this one where we get to see her touch base with Nick a bit.

Ah heck Ama, I Love this! All those things others already mentioned, the angle on that muzzle close up, and that kinky sketch on the side! But I also love the group panels, the closeness and intimacy having the pup right next to them like this... Snuggled up, part of it... Yet at the side-lines. Like Owen said ‘his supporting act’. Fhhh! I love it... a lot. Plus Nicks stubby little peepee <3

I love it all, but especially that under the table doodle with Judy, like others have said. That "O" brand or tattoo is a little boring, though. I'm no visual artist, and I completely understand this is a doodle and a WIP and may never be in the comic but I'd like something a little more personalized to Owen if Judy does get branded/tattooed. But then again, if that does happen it should be something that can be drawn pretty easily so a simple O might be the answer.

You can't throw that at me without ALSO tossing an idea or two my way =D What would you do to personalize an Owen brand a bit more fully? I'd not want to go too hard on the details; I don't think branding can be too detailed and I think it's a lot more 'blurry' than, say, a tattoo. Yeah it's been fun to see everyone enjoy the doodle!

Maybe something like OR or R for Reed? Just the O kinda makes it look like a faded bitemark more than a branding in my opinion

I do also dig the idea that she gets a tattoo that's under her fur. Something that only shows up when it's shaved or the fur is pushed backward.

I wonder if the tattoo could be something even spicier, like Owen's pawprint, maybe? (Sorry for jumping in the middle, I just enjoyed this idea too much not to offer my idea) :)

Haw! I love the pawprint idea. That would be easier for her to wear also; people would think it was Nicks pawprint, but the three of them would know. (I'ma add this one to the idea document ;D )

Well, smart people might know since Owens's hand should be bigger than Nick's hand by logical inference. But I do really like this idea. Or maybe a pawprint surrounded by an O? Again, I'm no visual artist, and you might need to play around with it. I do like ideas being thrown around though.

Allow me to throw in my idea: It could be, if branded, an O with an R inside. Same goes for the tatoo, but ofc that one could be less simplistic and with more flourishes and stuff.
