Spring Fairy / Bug Fairy: Sketch for May’s Patreon print (Patreon)

Hello from Spain! I’m here filming a Domestika course on making an illustration (but more specific- more details soon!) and I’m learning a lot about why and how I make work in the process. I’m hoping to make more videos soon, this was a good toe dip into video script writing and editing! It’s still such a scary new world but I have a lot I’d like to share and this whole experience is making it feel much more natural.

Because I’ve been abroad during the time I would normally be Riso printing I’m running a little behind on this month’s print, but I’m hoping to have it sent out in the first week of June, if not earlier. I think this print will be a really sweet one, with lots of little bugs and giant Matilija tree poppies, which are perfect for sitting fairies ^_^

I suspect her pose might change, but for now I really love that she might be singing to or reciting poetry for a bug friend.

Color and breakdown for this one coming soon! All made on procreate on my iPad with the default 6B pencil brush. I love having Pinterest open at the same time while I work too! Here’s what I had next to me while I worked on this one. Just needed some help from those ~fairy vibes~

I’ve been planning the spring fairy to be May’s print for so long but hadn’t quite figured out June’s print so I think this is a great addition to the Ghibli prints I’ve been making for the Patreon.
