An Update On The Last Few Months... (Patreon)

So the last four months have felt like a nonstop avalanche of bad luck, heartbreak, stress, and financial devastation. What was supposed to be a fresh start moving back to Chicago quickly turned into one of the hardest periods of my life.
Before I even moved, my youngest cat, Lord Beerus, began suffering from severe urinary issues and was diagnosed with cystitis. Between emergency vet visits, medications, testing, treatment, and ongoing care, the medical bills piled up incredibly fast. Like most pet owners, I would do absolutely anything for my cats, so I paid whatever I had to in order to help him get better.
Then came the move itself, which brought far more unexpected costs than I could have ever prepared for. Because I was still trying to secure an apartment, nearly everything I owned aside from my computer equipment and some clothes had to be placed into a storage unit temporarily.
Shortly after finally getting settled back in Chicago, my other cat, Zhaan, also began having medical issues of her own with concerns of anemia or cancer, leading to even more vet appointments and expenses. On top of everything else, both cats are now in need of extremely expensive dental work that cannot continue to be put off.
And then came the situation that completely broke me financially...
Several weeks ago, I discovered that raccoons, rats, and mice had completely overrun my storage unit. The damage was catastrophic. More than 60% of everything I owned was destroyed or contaminated beyond saving.
I lost all of my furniture, my mattress, kitchen appliances, a bunch of clothing, tons of paperwork & documents, many personal keepsakes, sentimental items, and countless other belongings accumulated over years of my life. Boxes had been torn apart, items were covered in droppings and urine, and many things became unsafe to salvage entirely.
What should have been an exciting new chapter instead became months of loss, cleanup, replacement costs, medical bills, and constant emotional exhaustion.
Oh, and to top it all off, I am doing this all with a broken toe.
Creating this GoFundMe is incredibly difficult for me because I am not someone who normally asks for help. But after dealing with the cost of the move, the overwhelming veterinary bills, and now having to replace the majority of my belongings from the storage unit disaster, I have reached a point where I genuinely cannot recover from this alone financially.
Any donation, no matter how small, would help me begin replacing essential items, continue caring for Lord Beerus and Zhaan, and slowly rebuild after one of the hardest periods of my life.
Thank you so much for reading, supporting, sharing, or helping in any way at all. It truly means more than I can put into words.
