Finally! Thank you for doing this I have been waiting for you to watch this :)

John

Just FYI please don't do a poll for the other seasons as there's 3 seasons

John Taylor

There is this is England 88 and 90. A lot of this series is filmed in the Gleadless Valley area of Sheffield where my sister and niece live. I actually saw the film crew shooting at a pub in the area for scenes in This is England 90.

Lee

May as well do the full other seasons too - kind of like you did with Taskmaster.

Peter Latham

Nice one Josh I've been waiting for you to react to this forever! Carry on with the other series as well please they are only 4 episodes each as well same as this one. There are lots of American reactions to the movie of This Is England but very few for the mini series.

Ash Jeffries

Can't wait to watch this reaction! Just chiming in once more to echo that I think you can treat This is England '86, '88, and '90 as one show and just complete it in this slot. Treat them as seasons 1, 2 and 3, as that's what they are! 😃 It's a total of 11 episodes (4, 3 , 4) , so it won't take up this slot for very long, and you need to see the whole story. It's truly superb television! 🙏

Ash Jeffries

Fantastic reaction, Josh! I'd strongly recommend rewatching the film if you have time before you watch episode 2. No recasts, just a time gap, so some of them look a fair bit different. The film was set in 1983, the series runs 1986-1990. The film was released in 2006, with the follow up series here in 2010, so the actors are 4 years on, the characters, 3. Such a beautifully written show that covers every human emotion; very touching in parts, very shocking in parts, naturally funny and warm, and extremely honest all the way through. I think This is England '86-'90 is in many respects better than the original film, but as you'll see, it certainly has more time to achieve that. The characterisation is second to none, the plot goes in some wild directions, and the acting by the entire cast is truly outstanding. You're in for a rollercoaster of an experience here, Josh! 🙏

Sam

If the guy who plays Harvey looks and sounds familiar it's because he's very much the male version of his sister who played Kelly in Misfits.

John

Hes hardly the 'male version' he's her brother. That's it

John

It's also waaaay darker than the movie

Sam

I have two brothers. None of us look like, sound like or have the mannerisms of the others. Nobody would guess we are brothers. Michael Socha looks and sounds just like his sister, thus a male version. It's really not difficult to grasp my meaning.

Ash Jeffries

Yes, I'd agree with that too, especially '88 actually.
