Adam(Anti)

I wish i could say same thing about the Napoleon movie....they instead got most of the historical details right but decided to give napoleon a strange obsession with doggy style. 😅 You can skip Napoleon and do Oppenheimer though, that'd be dope

SpicyRikers

I sort of had heard about and saw clips of chernobyl growing up, but other than COD4 I really had no other interaction with this story, Im glad I watched it when it came out because it is definitely a piece of history worth knowing about and understanding how Pride, poor communication and an Insane government can be fatal, even if just as a show of respect for the victims, what a fuckin horrible way to go man. RIP Also whilst I was doing some research on it, I came across some reports tiny fragments of the graphite could be found still to this day and even looking at anything remotely close at the time of the incident like pieces of rock etc from 10 metres away can be extremely risky, not sure why people are so intent on actually going there to explore and risk their lives!

cMagic

as usual an absolute legend for this one big dogg ~

camzin0

Damn now I have a decent excuse to finally watch this I guess! Thx for the whole thing at once I'll be watching for a few weeks prolly 👍

Michael Tuffin

Modern education in ineffectual, that’s why you never learned in school. You’re probably unaware we had our own nuclear incident at 3-mile Island in Pennsylvania in 1979, though, thankfully, it was nothing compared to Chernobyl

Matthew Barney

Yo Mr Video I checked on discord and everywhere but I still can’t find most season 3 & 4 of Cobra Kai, now I understand if your having issues and all that so I don’t mean to complain, I really want to watch the rest of the series but I get that if you need time to fix it

Mitch Coob

You’ll be lucky to get a reply or any kind of answer at all lol. I’ve been asking about movie reactions from a few months ago that disappeared and still haven’t heard anything back.

dabbingcannasseur

If you wanna stay on the 'USSR was corrupt as fuck' stories but don't want it to be as dark as Chernobyl.... 'The Death Of Stalin' and the 'Tetris' movie can go up on a list.

Adam(Anti)

Dunkirk or Sound of Freedom next, for more real life hero/sacrifice stories

Richard Winkler

Yes I would, I do it for the Incent Animals that has no say in the mater Yes....

Tracey Cogdill

Finally been waiting for this, let's get it!!!

Tom

Elite miniseries

esrA eloH

Huuuuuh, the Entire Thing, oooooooh. Seriously, how is it possible that the American edumacation system just didn't tell y'all about this insanity, you're pretty much the same age as me. Mind you, it's been 20 years since I was in school, I honestly don't know if ours teaches this, certainly in physics & chemistry we got a mention of it, but it was a whole unite in history for us. But I grew up knowing about it because I grew up in the time of the Berlin wall coming down, some of the first conversations I heard were of the collapse of the Soviet Unions & all the opportunistic bastards that could fill the power vacuum, & well, just look at Russia, just literal gangsters in power. And numerous conversations about the world my mum grew up in, seeing people just trying to escape the east being shot as they clambered up the 15 foot fences, bodies just left dangling there. Oh min, apologising for getting so frustrated & ranting, there' ain't a person alive that's watched this without that sort of infuriation & subsequent ranting. This really is 1 of the hardest watches of this century. "even scientific access is limited by the politics" Dooo most Americans really not understand what the Soviet Union was, what Russia turned into in the wake of that, & what Trump is doing to America right now?

D

Thank you!

Dominique Cloet

Okay bro. Now get to binging Daredevil season 2. I’m gonna need your reaction to Frank Castle this calendar year please.

Andrew S

Please watch The Iron Giant before you Watch Ready Player One, it's The order you need to watch them

Soph

Please do meet the Fockers !!

Soph

Ain’t an airport. No announcements necessary.

Zen-Aku

Well too bad lol cause I can post whatever the fuck I want. Mind your business.

Growing up during the Cold War was day to day never knowing and I remember how much more scary things became when Chernobyl happened (I was 10 at the time). Here in CO I grew up near a area called Rocky Flats (which was at one time a Nuclear weapons production facility). Decommissioned and closed in 1992, but a fire there made thing 100 times worse. The clean up ended in 2006. They say the ground will be irradiated for thousands of years. (Now their finding those of us that lived in and around a radius of Rocky Flats have some form of health condition or issues, some worse then others). I have several co-workers/friends that are from the Ukraine, some too young to remember and others who lived through it. And their stories would brake your heart. My friend Gina remembers no one knew what was going on at the time, everyone would live their lives as if nothing had happened all the while their Govt. continued to feed them nothing but lies. It wasn't until other countries in the EU reported the radiation and the US caught wind that their citizen's finally got some truths. She said her mother immediately moved her family deeper into Russia, as far she could get them away from it. Sometimes you have absolutely no clue just how close you are living to something like or similar to Chernobyl till it's too late.

Julie Whittaker

I’m loving this series, but now it’s not downloading for me.

Serra313

Go the the discord and make sure you have access to Patreon-Chat, then search for: "Here's the dropbox link I shared with Mr. Video" That dropbox link has what you're looking for I think.

Pablo Escobar

Is it just me or the sexual tension between the 2 main scientists when they talk to each other is crazy

Syjah

definetly just you wasnt even close to the first thing on my mind during this watch

Deep Dives

@ Serra I've looked, can't find it !

Julie Whittaker

Wow man, I’m with you Mr. Video. This movie caused me to loose sleep. I was soooo Pissed off at the end of the movie I had a hard time, relaxing much less sleeping. My nephew married a Russian woman, they had two children, and although I am very close to my grand niece 🧜‍♀️Katya❤️, when she told me she loved being half Russian, I almost crawled out of my skin. I told her (it’s OK if you love being half Russian, but dear God, you would never want to either visit or live there. Way to corrupt to this day. At some point in the movie, my anxiety level got so high I broke out in a sweat all over my body, however, I am grateful to have seen this movie and to see that the truth finally came out even though they covered it up. What a bunch of dickheads. Much love Mr. video. I also loved the movie Chronicle, it was great!! Oh my husband and I were alive when this happened, he said, the KGB was responsible for the coverups.

Daniela D

This was comunist life before 1989 in Romania too. 😩 And it is so sad we have a lot of people now being nostalgic about that. I was 24 when comunism end and I experienced both sides and I feel sick even think we can go back. Much love from Romania! 🇹🇩♥️🇹🇩

D

“The baby absorbed it instead“ is chilling

Pablo Escobar

I just thought they had a connection and kinda wanted a happy ending for them two

AshTone Audio

If you're looking for another mini-series that you can watch in a few hours, 'Adolescence' is a good one. If for no other reason than the amazing work the crew & cast did to put it together.

Stefan Williams

chucking this in the corner of my screen at work.

Stefan Williams

Bunch of fucking egotistical retards in Ukraine honestly, the wife included

Joachim Blaabjerg

That's... not true. It was about $500 back then, which is roughly equivalent to $1500 today. Not life changing money, but quite substantial in the USSR.

Blade

True Detective is 32 hours long compared to 5 for this. I don't believe he'll get it done in one sitting.

David Kymdell

The flashlights crashed out because of the radiation, not because they were defective

EZ

Holy fucking cinema this was amazing

Taylor

Im American and I do but it’s a complicated mess with the education system in America. You will have communities that are highly educated on subjects like world history due to good school districts. While you have others that are the opposite due usually to a lack of funding. Which opens up a lot of variables when it comes to a teacher’s ability to perform for their students. I learned about this in history when we went over our own event like the three mile island accident in high school. Our country is pretty large and in turn the level of education varies greatly depending on where you are. You’re welcome to look it up if it does interest you as it is a lot to write up the multiple factors at play for americas varying levels of education. But in general our outdated school system has failed the average American. That’s doesn’t apply to all of course as with anywhere some kids just completely screw around the whole time and make that claim.

Itss_NattyJ

I've already seen the show when it first aired and was floored. I didn't think I would watch it again but I just watched this entire reaction series (went to sleep around 3am). It's all because of Leo's reaction, how immediately engaged he was and how quickly he remembers characters names and picks up on story beats and details. He somehow made a depressing and emotionally exhausting show entertaining. Kudos to you, Leo!

Itss_NattyJ

OMG, YES! Please react to this one, Leo.

Itss_NattyJ

Wait, those films are related?? Recently, I keep seeing Ready Player One being recommended in other forums (e.g., Reddit) and other reactors' comments with regards to Stephen King books/films, but I don't understand why. I'll research it but curious how the Iron Giant relates to it––I've not seen either movie.

Itss_NattyJ

I knew about Chernobyl growing up but that's likely because I am older (than you and Leo) and like Taylor mentioned, I went to magnet and private schools in Chicago so it was definitely discussed in history, sociology, and science classes, and I actually paid attention because the teachers were great. But give Leo some credit––he quickly picked up on what was going on and understanding the science of it all––another reactor I support started watching Chernobyl and she isn't following along as well as Leo, thinking they were building bombs in the nuclear power plant. I had to stop watching her reaction because it was making me super frustrated.

Mitch Coob

Season 1 only eight eps and that’s all he needs to see let’s be real lol

p0sthum4n

Unfortunately, the New Safe Confinement completed in 2017 has been significantly damaged by Russian attacks during their war in Ukraine.

Nosferatute

Pretty much shows you how much the Soviet Union was a bureaucratic nightmare, with so much red tape covering up even the most basic truths about this disaster. Good looks Leo!

Jim

This was one of the best miniseries ever. I'm so glad you watched this. Now, doing a 180 degree turn, how about Curb your Enthusiasm? Perhaps the greatest comedy series of all time. IMO.

Matthew Mariner

that pile of firefighter clothes is still in the basement of that hospital, and it's still radioactive.
