Nathan

Nice should be a fun watch. Hitchcock is one of the greats. North By Northwest could be a lot of fun

Steevn Sonder

Anthony Perkins performance in this is unreal. TBH Psycho 2 & 3 are worth checking out just for him.

astrobuckshot

They used chocolate syrup for the blood in the shower scene. One of the many perks of B&W 😆

Shane Normand

Thanks Leo! Sopranos or Lost would be good shows to do

IVAN OOZE

Both would make my year

IVAN OOZE

Hands down my two favorite shows

Jordan

Love the choice of movie! we should throw in some more classic films the future

Kyndu

Monster: The Ed Gein Story on Netflix. It's about the original serial killer in the USA. Based on a true story. The Ed Gein story was the inspiration for a whole new genre in horror films. Psycho Texas Chainsaw massacre Silence of the Lambs American Psycho All of these films were based Ed Gein life. The Most Disturbing Horror Series on TV. (8 parts)

Kluneberg

there was a 1998 remake with vince vaughn and julianne moore(boogie nights)

Rhoda J

I’m such an Alfred Hitchcock fan, can’t wait to enjoy this with you Leo, I bet this movie gave people who watched it nightmares back in the day 😂 💕🫶🏼💕👍

Shane Normand

Lost has the best cliffhangers. leaves you needing to see the next episode right away.

Adam(Anti)

Thanks Leo! The Butterfly Effect!

Jordan

Rear window and the birds were great too. Hitchcock is a master

JP Shikigami

love wathcing the classics with ya man

Evannn

You coming with the heat Brodie have a Good weekend 💯💯

Violet

Hope you have a great weekend and I hope you do Star Trek 2009, Princess and the Frog, or Drop Dead Gorgeous, soon.

Chris H

These classics are great man! Great choice you should do some other Hitchcock movies if you enjoyed this one!

Glenn Burns

I find some of the Psycho sequels are worth checking out, for the love of the character.

Glenn Burns

Imagine getting into Psycho because of the Golden Girls. Ha ha.

Canadian Rob

This was a quick turn around from the Golden Girls video lol. Good job Leo!

Cassy98

You should definitely check out Hitchcock's other great movies: Vertigo, Rear Window or The Birds. Those 3 are suspenseful movies and have you on the edge of your seat.

Ryan Bellefleur

You psycho for not doing house of the dragon yet!?

Nathan

Lost 1000%. One of the best tv shows ever structured for cable. Every commercial break would leave you waiting for it to come back on and every ending would reel you back in for more the next week. In the modern streaming era its so bingeable for those reason. Constantly keeps you hooked. So good. Need that Leo!

JP Shikigami

check out lighthouse (2019) if you want more black and white

Jeremy V.

And part 4 it was a showtime original Anthony Perkins!

Jennifer Sauer

Fun tidbit! Marian Crane is played by the mother of Jamie Lee Curtis!

Michele Pérez

It’s already been said. However, it bears repeating. The actress in the shower scene is Janet Leigh. She’s Jamie Lee Curtis’s mother.

Gary DeRosa

You mention black and white ...Because you couldnt tell they used Hersheys chocolate syrup for the blood in the shower. Also there weren't brutal movies like this. Hitchcock liked to goto the theater to watch audience reactions and people ran out and vomited.

camzin0

Classic; a must-see for any fan of film or television. Thx 🙏

astrobuckshot

If you're thinking of doing a Chuck Norris movie after his passing. I recommend "Invasion U.S.A." 👍

Julie Whittaker

Leo, thank you so, so much for reacting to “Psycho” Alfred Hitchcock was hands-down, the master of thrillers. The reason the music was so sinister sounding was because Alfred Hitchcock insisted on only using stringed instruments throughout the movie. My mother took my brother, my sister and myself to the drive-in to see psycho, it was in 1968, I was eight years old. To this day I have not taken a shower since lol, seriously. My sister and I stayed in a cabin by the lake, they didn’t have a bathtub so I took a sponge bath lol. If you’re interested in seeing more of Alfred Hitchcock’s movies please react to “Rear Window”, The Birds” 🦅 I’ve done a lot of research on Alfred Hitchcock and honestly he definitely had a psycho side himself. I don’t mean to sound like I’m trying to con you, but if you would react to the movie rear window and the birds, I will hype up my Patreon donation, seriously. Thank you with all my heart for playing this movie. Much love. 💕 🤗

Alice Delgado

there are sequels. Psycho 2 is the only good one i recommend

Julie Whittaker

Oh Anthony Perkins plays in psycho ll. In the beginning, I believe it is they have a scene that explains what happened to his mother and stepfather.

Andrew S

Watch "The Shining (1980)"

EZ

read last post buddy

Kluneberg

never seen the sequels only the original and remake but id be down to watch them if leo reacts to them

tonya

I hope you decide to watch the entire Golden Girls series… it’s one the best shows of all time.

d3235

That $40,000 in 1960 would be about $440,000 today.

Filby Pott

Fun fact, Janet Leigh (Marion) was the mother of Jamie Lee Curtis, and Anthony Perkins (Norman) was the father of actor/director Osgood Perkins. Also, Marion's "blood" was actually chocolate syrup XD There's also a Psycho 2 that is actually pretty good, but probably not reaction-worthy

Filby Pott

Btw I was spoiled on the twist about Norman's mother before I saw the movie, so it was a wild ride watching a reaction by someone going in totally blind. This is what I watch reactions for! Horror movies in this era were more slow burn, atmosphere, creeping fear kind of stuff like Frankenstein or House on Haunted Hill. Good stuff, but Psycho SHOCKED people with something new and psychological. It was truly the first modern horror movie.

EZ

Now you'll get the references In South Park s15 EP 6 lol

Dry Ooze

Try twelve angry men

abz

when he pushes the car into the lake, and it doesn't quite sink - uh oh! we actually panic for a second - we sympathize with this guy hiding the body of our lead character! Master filmmaking.

Jesse S

Are you going to watch season 2 live action one piece

E

Its on here, try search

E

Rosemarys baby from 1960s is awesome as well

E

The son of Normans actor made LongLegs

Benjamin Herrera

Psycho 2 is my all time favorite Horror Sequel!! Gotta check it out bro

berk henkel

Dang bro I was just finna recommend bates motel lmaooo but glad you already seen it tho great series

Itss_NattyJ

Yep! Osgood Perkins directed Longlegs, The Monkey, and The Blackcoat’s Daughter. He directed a few others but I recommend those 3 films.

Itss_NattyJ

What happened to them is in the series The Bates Motel. Leo watched it but it was so long ago he seems to have forgot a lot of what happened…I did too.

Itss_NattyJ

He ignoring us, Ryan. 😞

Itss_NattyJ

It’s already been recommended in the comments here and on the YT Dorothy Golden Girls reaction, but I’m hyping it here—please react to Rear Window, Vertigo, The Haunting, and The Birds. That’s listed in order of my preference. Since you really appreciated the black/white aspect and really got into the story, I think you’ll enjoy these films as well.

Itss_NattyJ

That show received a lot of negative feedback/criticism for being inaccurate on many levels and taking liberties with details of Gein’s story and its influence on Alfred Hitchcock and the horror film industry. I personally liked Charlie Hunnam’s performance as Gein but it was criticized for being overly sexualized, as many of show creator Ryan Murphy’s work tends to be. Gein was not a sexy man but Charlie definitely is, no matter how much they tried to deform him.

Steevn Sonder

If you fw black and white horror you should definitely check out Night of the Living Dead (1968)

Shehab Dawoud

More Hitchcock, brother. Rope Dial M For Murder The Birds Vertigo North by Northwest Before anyone mentions Rear Window, I know it's one of his most popular ones but every time I watch it, I find it slower and slower.

Kyndu

Yes, I agree it's not a documentary.

Kluneberg

a few more hotel based movies: Identity (2003) psychologicalthriller Vacancy (2007) thriller Hotel Artemis (2018) action Bad Times at the El Royale (2018) mystery

Kelly Nicole

Schindlers List (1993) is a more modern movie done in black and white.

Vito

1408 as well

~ ChelZee ~

And Jamie Lee Curtis' dad was the great Tony Curtis. I'm here 100% for watching Tony Curtis, Jack Lemmon, and Marilyn Monroe in Some Like It Hot with Leo!

Filby Pott

Oh man, I forgot her dad was Tony Curtis, which should have been obvious because of the name lmao. And agreed, Some Like It Hot is hilarious!

K Posley

Psycho Part 2 was really good too

K Posley

Yes the Birds

~ ChelZee ~

I love that you've become a cinephile and do research. Get a film history book and get totally nerdy. There are others of us who are here for it.

Kyndu

The Dead Zone

Mister Lou

Love this movie! But have yet to see Bates Motel.. I should check it out, if Leo says it's good, I trust his judgment!

Mimi

This was such a great movie choice. Glad "The Golden Girls" led you to it. That climax scene creeps me out every single time no matter how many times I watch it over and over. The huge smile on Norman's face when he bursts through the cellar door, knife in hand, dressed as his mother, is just completely... "psycho." 👹👹👹

Mimi

Yeah, the show is completely sensationalized but it's still a guilty pleasure of mine. I've got two more episodes to go. 😋

Carlos Estrada

You did real good with this movie, real good

Rellis Clements

A good .movie in black in white is the rear window by Alfred niche

~ ChelZee ~

Kurosawa 100% I've not seen reactors do many foreign classics, explore those who influenced cinema and culture. We need a Criterion reaction thread to begin!

Linda

I first saw this movie years ago and it is the reason I still can't shower with a curtain I can't see through. Great movie!

Crystal

Reality is in color; black and white feels like a step away from reality. Because of that, black-and-white film can draw viewers into the strange, heightened world the film creates.

camzin0

American Psycho if you haven't seen it. Christian Bale.

camzin0

Well put. I've read it can also be interpreted as the black and white morality or perspective that many older films such as this one explore through its themes and characters. That being said, looking forward to Spider-Noir myself! 👍
