News and this is fine... (Patreon)

Well... Well, well, well... How to say this, worst scenario came to fruition, lets just rip the band aid, my tech specialists fucked up since start and my hard drive is not fine, really really not...
What?
As you hear, my working HDD is dead and dead again, when my techs said my drives were good, in fact they only test my SSD (where I'm saving my work when working on my updates), but they fucked up and did not test my HDD (where EVERYTHING was stored), don't ask me how, they just fuck that up and had me lost two weeks on that shit... So, the problem since the stat was my HDD being on his rope and pushing my processor to over heat to make it work AND since it seems that my cooling system was on his knees the computer just decided to call it quits... That's the gist of it... It took the afternoon with me babysitting them and realizing that the worst had been the problem from the start to finally get to the knot of the problem.
So, is it dead?
Well, maybe not, I already sent my HDD to a specialized lab of recovery data, which will only be alt to give me some news next week after the weekend and easter, but in short either they can save my data and it will cost me an arm and a leg, either it's dead and dead and I have to start over.
Start over!?
Well,, while waiting for the lab to give me a prognostic on my HDD (and data), I'm trying to see what can be done with what I have in backup: renders from ch5.11, render saves from ch5.11 and game version form ch5.11, but not the fabric from ch5.11 (which mean that the writing from last update was not saved, but I think it can be salvaged from the game files).
And what about the models?
That's the only partial good news, since I have all my render saves, when I load a save, DAZ tells me what resources I'm missing, meaning I know what resources I have to look for to recreate everything (if the DAZ is telling me everything that's missing of course), but in short, I think that even if the lab can't save my data, I will be able to salvage Project Myriam, which is the only thing that count in the end, I will be able to finish project Myriam and save our dear Myriam from her limbo.
Anything else?
Well, that's already quite a lot to take in, learning that my techs basically lead me on for weeks about the worst possible case was definitely a kick in the guts... But nonetheless, I will manage, I WILL FINISH Project Myriam, whatever happen, even if my data are lost, I will finish Project Myriam even if I have to get back to rewrite and redo my last update and recreate my models, that's that.
Can you start working again?
I'm on my computer again, but he's right now on live support, I'm missing an HDD and a cooling system, I've ask my techs to order me a new cooling system as well as 2 HDD and a supplemental SSD... This fuck up definitely teached me a good lesson, 1 back up is definitely not enough, it will cost, but I will back up and back up again, and again, I'm definitely hurt, but not dead and will learn from this massive fuck up and blind sight from me, if I could not prevent the HDD dying, I definitely let things go easy and didn't realize how fragile was my set up until now, and on that front, I can only apologize to you all, I definitely surfed on how good things were.
Is Project Myriam dead?
NO, like I said, I WILL FINISH Project Myriam, I have lots of back up, I have all my renders and render saves, (even all the ones I work this month) I have pointers to all the resources needed, even if worst come and my HDD and data are dead, I will be able to keep going, it will just take me some time to get around (which I already started going over even before getting news from the lab, just in case).
This all sounds fishy...
I can't argue here, if you have the feeling I'm leading you on, I fully understand, do not hesitate to stop your support and follow your guts, all I can say is I'm sorry for this series of episodes of fuck ups, I'm not a tech guy and can only believe what I'm told by specialists when they give me information, I'm beside myself, pissed and sad to see that nearly 2 weeks were lost on bullshits for something that should have taken a day to get around if things had been done right.
So, what now?
Well, right now, I'm trying my best going over the back ups I have with my carnivalized computer to see what can be salvaged from what I have while waiting for news from the data recovery lab (which will come next Tuesday at best, as I sent them my HDD today), DAZ is giving me some troubles as it doesn't like being launched from another drive (it was installed on my HDD), but I think it will be solved fairly quickly, I already sent them a ticket to solve this (the problem being that I cannot connect to it and have access to all my bought resources, probably just a simple problem caused by the program to avoid any exploits).
Conclusion...
I don't know what to say, beside sounding like a broken record and apologize for all this again and again, I'm definitely wounded here, but not broken, I have no intention of letting Project Myriam die and every intention to finish it, the lab should give me some news on my HDD and data Tuesday, then it will be a few days to recover them (if possible), meanwhile I will upgrade my computer and fix it as well as going around building up all my models back to prepare for the worst.
I thank you all for your patience and understanding, for all the love you sent me and Myriam's way, and hope to offer you some better news soon.
