Yeah, not gonna lie, I kinda have to agree with the haters on this and acknowledge that this show is just... not all that good. The show is trying way too hard to make Stolas out to be a victim, when in reality all he does is reap what he sowed. He claims he never looked down on Blitzo, and is genuinely offended that Blitzo would think that about him, yet one of the first things he does in the show is to call Blitzo "his impish little plaything". Why wouldn't Blitzo think that Stolas isn't taking him seriously, when Stolas directly told him to his face several times that he's merely a plaything to him? Also Stolas views on relationship is highly dangerous. He's trying to model his relationship after a romantic fantasy, but the issue is that that's just that: a fantasy. And if he judges his relationships by the standards of an idealized fantasy, no relationship will never fully live up to that, making all his relationships feel lacking and unfulfilling, since they'll never reach the impossible standards he set. And of course his daughter is also immediately jumping to the worst conclusion about him, and he makes no real effort to try and explain himself, because we need to make everyone else seem unreasonable and unfair to our poor owl boy... Yeah, I do enjoy the concept of the show, and there are some good moments, but the execution is rather.... not good.
