Tbf to those guys, remember at least their leader only arrived in the area that very day, and most of their comrades seem to be in prison. Assuming it's no just a philosophical thing, given that they don't seem big enough to simply replace those captured comrades of theirs, the question arises how big and well funded their whole organization truly is. Sure, it probably would have been smarter to split up the children into different cars, however would they even have the logistics to pay for all those additional cars? Plus the cost for fuel. And the information about the routes is probably not cheap either, and/or takes time to gather, both of which they probably didn't have much off. Not to mention, do they even have enough people to drive all those several smaller cars? Or is it only those three left? See, that's the issue. So many people underestimate logistics, when it comes to making plans. It's always easy to come up with an effective plan on paper, the real challenge is whether or not you actually have the time, manpower and resources to make it all happen IRL.
