I fell asleep watching this (not your reaction, the episode) last night. It wasn't as riveting as I expected it to be but I did very much enjoy the aesthetic and I'm sure it'll get meatier as it goes on

Yeah, I could see that. I’m sure also seeing a decent chunk of scenes in trailers and teasers didn’t help. But I do believe once Lestat starts diving into his story, things will definitely take off more.

Yaaay the TVL reaction!! Love the cool rocker outfit! This episode was chaotic and non-linear and jarring and SO Lestat. I can't believe how badly they got us with those texts, that was mean!! The flashbacks to little loustat tender moments every now and then appeased me a little though, I love how despite addressing him as Mr. du Lac and trying to keep a cold tone he can't help but have that tenderness seep through his subconscious oof. The Halloween scene with the kids was really fun until I rewatched and noticed they're dressed as IWTV characters which... imagine coming face-to-face with a kid dressed as your daughter on the night she died. Diabolical. Can't wait til it gets even worse as we get deeper and deeper into his psyche, it's gonna be such a devastatingly fun trip, I'm sure

So happy to see this! The episode was CRAZY but I think will hold up to rewatches and analysis very well. A few notes: 1. Did you clock that Louis is missing a limb in the opening sequence? The closeup with the cane shows a prosthetic foot. 2. The trick-or-treaters were all dressed up as Armand, Claudia, Louis… contributing to Lestat’s crash out. 3. Gabriella— yeah, it’s definitely going to be uncomfortable. But I don’t believe the show intends it to be titillating… reread the text chain again (“Expectations?” “None. Nothing. Just sit with me. Please.”) and look at how, despite him having had a mental breakdown, major physical injuries, clearly asking for help at rock-bottom… as soon as she’s in the room, he puts on a ragged smile and an eager-to-please demeanour. And we never got an answer to Daniel’s “were you a stutterer as a child?” but the stutter shows up when he tries to say her name. Huge indicator to me of what the vibe of the relationship actually is. It’s not sexy, it’s abusive.

Thanks, Thea! 🥰 And yes, it took me a second to get used to the pacing and structure, but I like how distinct it is from Louis. Ugh, loved the few cute moments between them. The scene where he called Louis a lunatic and then reminded himself to edit it out 😆. He couldn’t commit to his own slander. Omg I spotted the little Louis while editing, but missed the Claudia costume completely. That’s so messed up. Excited for the wild ride!

A couple of things I'm not sure you picked up on, but 1. Louis is not only limping, but he is also missing his leg, or at least below his knee, or his foot is gone. 2. The children on Halloween are dressed as Armand, Claudia, and Louis.

Oh my god, first of all let me just say that I looove your reactions! You're so funny and expressive, you always crack me up lmao. But you're also one of the smartest (if not THE smartest) reactors to this show that I've seen. It's incredible the things you pick up on, how you connect moments from previous episodes and season, how you see the intentions of the creators even in subtle ways. You've opened my eyes to a whole lot of things! I think that's a thing that people should definitely appreciate about you more! So excited for the next episodes and the mess that Lestat will most definitely be.
