I loved your reaction! I enjoy this episode, especially watching the initial friction between Dale and Helen over the best way to handle the story resolving itself as they come to an agreement on a new approach together. And I love that little 'creative date' scene so much; I especially love that Dale genuinely isn't bothered by the side of Helen that is always laser-focused on work, like, he gets that and admires it! I love that sincere little moment where he says 'I think the draft you already wrote was career-defining good, but if you think you can make it even better, take all the time you need.' <3 Just as an FYI, there are actually 3 seasons of this show total (with 6 episodes each). The final season came out last year, but it's not available for streaming anywhere in the US that I know of. Personally, I bought the DVDs, and I also have digital copies of the season 3 episodes, so just let me know if you'd like me to send them your way when you finish season 2.

A DINGO ATE MY BABY! The headline/punchline went far beyond Australia for sure. The Lindy Chamberlain case is such a strong example of how damaging the whole "perfect victim" thing is. She didn't speak or act the way ppl expected so she was villified. We say everyone grieves differently but we sure af don't like to let each other grieve differently! That and the racism of ignoring Aboriginal testimony on dingo behaviour

One thing I love about this show is how good it is at showing the complexity of people’s thoughts and motivations. Even the minor characters have some depth. It’s also very interesting to see the show making a point about what are traditionally considered masculine and feminine traits, and how people are rewarded or punished for them —Helen has some drive and pushiness to her, and is often derided for it, while Dale has some softness that brings him under fire to an extent also. They complement each other very well, even if they are different in many ways.

Yeah, I’ve since watched some clips, and it just reminds me of how presentation is everything. People not reacting in the way the public sees as normal can be itself a death sentence. I’m so glad she got exonerated, but I really hope those people who villainized her took a long in the mirror and felt some semblance of guilt. But people hate admitting wrongdoing. Oh! I missed the part about the Aboriginal testimony. Sexism + racism is a powerful opponent.

Yes, I really love those moments when he’s looks at her in awe of her performance. He has such great admiration for her. And I love to see a couple go through a challenge and come out on the other side stronger together. And ohhh I didn’t realize there was a season 3! I maaaay have to hit you up if I don’t find another copy by then 🤭

There’s nothing wrong with being a Hellen! The world runs on them tbh. And I’m actually laughing out loud at you still calling Tim Gay Tim. Great reaction as always!!

Aboriginal trackers reported signs that aligned with the dingo story, and other community members described similar incidents along with oral history of dingoes viewing small children as prey

Gotta love how Tim’s original strategy for flirting with Dale is to bully him about Helen so as to get him to maybe drop a hint that he’s not into women and when that backfires he just lays all the cards on the table.
