Rewatching the podcast and just wanted to comment on Robbie's criticism of his performance. It was BECAUSE Tom was so flawed and chip on his shoulder that he became so likable and heroic as the series went on. Your arc would not have been nearly so interesting if you hadn't played it that way. So kudos to you!

Stormy

I think that anger towards the female captain does not reflect modern views of conservatives, but of people in America 25 years ago when this show was first aired. Views and beliefs of everyone have changed a lot since then.

Suzanne Hollifield Eller

I signed up a few weeks ago, and although I have watched VOY since it premiered. I had never noticed y’all had the Star Trek pointy side burns! That was a cool piece of trivia. Now I will have to notice if they look thick or if I can see the lace webbing.

Joshua

Watching for the 30th anniversary of voyager

Liz Scott

Really enjoying the podcast! Definitely worth the midnight viewing over here on the east coast. Thanks for this! A big bright spot in the busy week I have had.

Charity Ponton

I have to say, the tomato soup scene is what kicks off the show for me. It's perfect the way it is. Glad you get no do overs hehe

Part of what I always loved about Tom was his journey from being the jerk, to the married man with a baby in Endgame. You could always tell he had layers to him. You could always tell there was more to him. So I think it was done well in the beginning.

sab ewell

Reviewboy.com has really fun reviews yall should check out. After an episode I always went to delta blues to read Jim's reviews!

Diana Paprotny

Tom may have been a jerk, but behind his tough exterior, you could always tell that he was genuinely a good guy. That's why I always liked him. And the relationship between Harry and Tom is my favorite on the show. I do have to say that my least favorite thing about Voyager was the slightly creepy relationship between Kess and Neelix. It always weirded me out, especially since she's essentially a child.

Diana Paprotny

But I am really loving this podcast so far. Getting to see/listen to you guys talk about your reactions to the show, the little behind the scenes tidbits that you share. For example, hearing Garrett talk about the little improv scene that happened during the tomato soup scene was awesome. This is excellent so far, and I can only imagine that it will get better as time goes by.

Luz R

Truly enjoying this podcast. I loved the bonuses that came after. How do we send in reviews and questions?

Susan Potera

I'm glad no one listened to the negative channel surfers, because as a teenage girl for the duration of the run, Janeway and B'Elanna were/are LIFE!

Oxey

Great start to the podcast, im loving it! :D

Luz R

YES!!!!! I totally agree! I looked up to both the actors and the actresses during my high school years and still do now :) THEY ARE LIFE lol

Jen Wallen

Same here! Voyager was life changing for me- a Captain who was a girl? Brilliant! She was my hero. I loved Torres aswell. They’re both brilliant actresses. :)

Mihaela Grasley

Absolutely great! I enjoyed every moment of each episode of The Delta Flyers podcast, thank you both for putting all the effort to make these stories not only very interesting but also funny and very relaxing! Thank you both of you and thank you to everyone in your team who helps making this happening, especially during these very difficult times for all of us!

Laura Swanson

Omg I did the same!! I lived for his reviews almost as much as I lived for watching Voyager!

Laura Swanson

Absolutely amazing! The Delta Flyers podcast is so funny and enjoyable to watch. Thank you for putting in all your hard work. I’m already excited for the next one!

Cuban

It was JUST like sitting in one of Garrett’s amazing DragonCon panels! One major complaint though. In the 2 whole hours of both parts Garrett did ZERO George Takei impressions (though we got a good amount of Kate Mulgrew) Ohh Myy

Ashley Gariner

You both don’t need to apologize for having the show run long. We fans appreciate every single second. I can not wait till next weeks episode!

sab ewell

Yes first female chief engineer, first female captain. And all the ladies were ladies in STEM. I loved it!

Richard Moesbergen

Awesome job gentlemen....looking forward to all the future episodes

Katrina

Thanks guys! Looking forward to Parallax

Matthew Wilcoxson

Thanks for the great work on this, really great show with lots of interesting stories and ultimately very entertaining! Totally agree, a great beginning. I have to admit I had to lookup a few of the things mentioned (like ADB) not to mention the many cast and crew names I didn't recognise, but all part of the fun in my opinion! It's great being able to support this, so thanks Garrett, Robert, (Megan, Rebecca,) and everyone else who's supporting it! Looking forward to the next one.

Adriana Guerra

Tom Paris scene ordering Tomato soup was the moment Voyager connected with Star Trek universe for me, I remember feeling like "Yes, here we go!"

Andrea Clarke

This was brilliant! I don't think this will go down well, but is it just me that thinks Garrett's impression of Janeway's speech sounds almost exactly like Vic Mignona?

Samantha Wattam

Really enjoyed the first two episodes of the podcast. Thank you Garrett and Robert for doing the podcast and to everyone behind the scenes for helping to make it happen.

Kristele Pelland

My face hurts from too much smiling and that's because of you Garrett and Robert!! Sincere thanks to you guys, Megan, Rebecca and everyone who helped put this show together. ( I already know I'll never grow tired of Garrett's Janeway Impressions) Cheers!!

ediblegenius

Not gonna lie, I got a little giddy when Robbie said "yes ma'am" even if thats not what Tom Paris said in the episode 🤣

Andrew Hills

Great pod guys. Robbie, I would say that I think you're initial take on Tom (i.e. having him a bit uptight and defensive) made sense to me. Tom, after all, had been estranged from his father, jumped the fence from Starfleet to the Maquis and then been caught and jailed. That would make anyone a tad closed-off and combative. Your initial characterization also allows for more growth as a consequence of experiences and lessons learned over the course of the series. Thanks to you both for doing this - its just a lot of fun.

Daniel de Rooy

Really great start Robbie & Garrett. Thanks heaps for putting it all together for us to enjoy. I just absolutely love the humour of your stories. The story about Robert Beltran doing the caretaker's "there's not enough time!" whenever time on the set became an issue had me laughing so, so hard. And all the behind the scenes info is so interesting. To be honest, I've seen the show so many times and I actually always liked your delivery Garrett of that "I haven't paid my respects to the Captain either, yet" line

Nathanial Moon

It's frightening how good Garrett's memory is. You guys are a great team! I loved the friendship between Harry and Tom. Although I didn't trust Tom at first, we all grew to love him later. Now we know why. Great episode review. Would love to hear you do episodes on all things Trek. What's the possibility you guys will have your fellow co stars on for a review?

Di Valentine

That was a lot of fun. Thanks. I loved the stories and anecdotes you shared. Looking forward to embarking on this journey through Voyager with y'all.

Matt

Listening to you both talking about the pilot, I'm brought back to when I first started watching Voyager. I was a late bloomer to the Voyager family. Several years ago I was in the hospital for a week, and when I came home I was stuck for a long time not being able to go out and I began watching Voyager on Netflix. I was immediately hooked and binged all 7 seasons within a few months. Since then Voyager is always on in the background while I work and I've read all the books starting with "Homecoming", to keep the Voyager adventures going.

Matt

Funny thinking about that Neelix bath scene, and talking about the clothes that Ethan Phillips wore during the show. I've seen interviews about how long it took in wardrobe each day; something like 2 or 3 hours of wardrobe each day?

Matt

Masters of the Universe! What a epic 80s flick! Now I have to watch it again. 😎

Nikyah Brewer

I love your tomato soup scene!!!

Elizabeth Gall

Man, right from the gate they wrote Harry into bodily harm.

Máia W

Thanks Megan & Rebecca!

The Irish Buddhist

Shot out to all involved in the production as well as the store. Everything looks amazing. Garrett, love your Janeway impressions. Thank you for all that you are doing guys. I've been furloughed from job for almost 3 months now, and this has definitely been a highlight to my day.

Dez

Amazing Cap'n impression Garret!! Such the ladies man lines Robbie got!!

Avigail Sharon

Was no one else taken aback by the milk that found its way into Captain Janeway’s coffee in that first scene in her ready room? I was very bothered 😂

Holly Jay

This was an amazing first podcast both parts 1 and 2. Hearing their passion for the show and their costars is brilliant. Thank you to you all for putting this together, it is greatly appreciated.

LT Turner Jr

Awesome stuff. Love this. Super excited to be taking this journey with you guys. I so LOVE that speech that Janeway did at the end of Caretaker - I thought it really set the stage for the entire Voyager show. You guys HAVE to bring Kate Mulgrew to your show JUST to do an reenactment of that. Would love to see/hear that. Looking forward to watching the rest of these episodes :)

I stumbled across this podcast when it was already into season 3 and had to go back and start at the beginning. It was great fun to listen to the podcast and then rewatch the episode myself to see if I could catch some of the things mentioned in the podcast. Honestly, some of things talked about such as looping or being dissatisfied with the acting choice or performance are unnoticeable to the lay person watching the show even after being made aware of the concern. Eventually, I caught up to the newest episodes and then had to wait a week for the next one (boo!) Later, I decided to become a Patron (Delta Flyer LT reporting for duty) and am now going back AGAIN and watching the episodes so I can catch all the extra stuff I was not privy to at first. Great podcast even better with the extras that come with Patreon membership! Cant wait to go through all the episodes again with the extras until I catch up again!

I am a conservative and am not against a female captain nor leader if that leader cares truly for the people. I am also very confused by the anger at a woman captian for the TV series when the Star Trek Movies had scenes with other female captains. Maybe we only see one section and focus on that and not realize the other things that can be focused on as well.
