My favorite part of the podcast continues to be Robbie's response to "What do you remember?" And he didn't disappoint in this week's pod. Garrett: "What do you remember?" Robbie: "Zero. Was I even in that episode?"

The idea of spinal surgery scares the crap out of me. It sounds like a lot can go very wrong, plus having hardware in the spine sounds really risky long term. I'm glad everything went well.

Another aspect of science that the writers conveniently ignored is that all the new elements beyond uranium are highly radioactive. So if that element was emanating (no pun intended) from those dead bodies, the away team should have been suffering radiation sickness. In fact, they probably should have gone down to the asteroid in protective suits in the first place.

I find the insights and stories that Robbie and Garrett share about people like David Livingston VERY interesting. As a life long Trekkie, guys like Livingston are people who we’ve been seeing/reading in interviews for years and years, so to hear “war stories” about these people is fascinating to me. I also enjoy “process” stories like when Robbie talks about filmmaking aspects like the lenses and such.

Enjoyed Garrett's take on the main point of this episode, e.g. that sometimes when we've been through big, profound things we need to take the time to contemplate & integrate them- to "stop and smell the roses" which is interesting given how "stop and smell the roses" Janeway is for the entire series (but in her case it's less to contemplate and more to risk everyone's lives lol).
