The dreadnought was a battleship made before WW1 and was used in both WW1 and WW2 by both sides of each war but they were so expensive to make that each side barely used them during both wars out of fear of damaging them. There was a naval battle in WW2 that did use a bunch of dreadnoughts but they got really damaged and some sunk so neither side did that again.

I love how you guys wonder about what's up with Paris in the last few episodes, fun that you don't remember that this was intentional buildup to something (don't want to spoil your own show's story). I'm sure many fans back then were wondering as well. Will be interesting how you react to what's coming up there. ;-)

I agree with you guys about Roxanne's computer voice and hereby nominate her for all future Star Trek computer voices.

Elisabeth Westner

Actually, Roxanne's voice is just terrific overall and when I recently learned that she was a singer on Broadway I was like, well, that explains why she's got such a fantastic voice. (Or, you know, she was a singer on Broadway *because* she has such a fantastic voice, but you know what I mean.)

Great episode! I am pretty sure that Paris's confrontations with Chakotay in the past few episodes are meant to be a prelude to the upcoming episode "Investigations" (if you don't recall of the details of that one, I won't spoil you) but I am thinking that is why they did that with Chakotay and Tom in these few leading up to it.
