I actually said out loud after this episode, “There’s no way Robbie won’t like this one.” A combination of a strong script and an excellent performance from Jennifer Lien made this one a big winner for me.

Another great ep guys really enjoyed it! I thought Jennifer was excellent in this ep and so very different to her usual character. Also Thank you Garrett for mentioning about 3rd rock from the sun, I've only recently discovered it in the past month on comedy central and have completely fallen in love with it, so funny and brilliant.

I'm surprised this wasn't a big hit episode with Robbie and Garrett also! Jennifer Lien was amazing, I thought the voice change was a really great addition myself, all of her mannerisms changed too. Hearing the behind the scenes with her was interesting. And I'm surprised you guys didn't delve into how Voyager played with gender, sexuality and roles so much in this episode, they almost allowed 2 girls to kiss, even if one was a man inside her body lol, I mean there was a lot of innuendo going on that was a big deal for a show in the 90's. Kudos to Voyager for really pushing boundaries in this one, it was a brave episode.

I completely disagree with Robbie and Garrett about Jennifer Lien's performance. Her voice was always low for a woman and I don't think she changed it that much. She emphasized the lower end of her normal range rather than completely changing her voice. I just rewatched it and found her convincing. I also agree with Christina that the way the script delves into sex and gender are really interesting. I remember thinking that at the time it aired, too.

Jennifer Lien was magnificent

Elias Nordling

I'm pretty sure they mention Ensign Martin's name in the episode because I kept track of named and unnamed casualties and I didn't read that from Memory Alpha.

Elias Nordling

By the way, here is my crew tally this far: Crew: 153 at start. Losses: S1 Pete Durst. S2: Kurt Bendara (Maquis) Frank Darwin (Starfleet) Seska 2 unnamed Michael Jonas (Maquis) S3: Lon Suder (Maquis) Hogan 1 blueshirt Ensign Martin And somewhere here it is mentioned thst there are 74 males left aboard. So, 11 casualties, 12 was a really good guess
