The Delta Flyers is a weekly Star Trek: Voyager rewatch & recap podcast hosted by Garrett Wang & Robert Duncan McNeill. Each week Garrett and Robert will rewatch an episode of Voyager starting at the very beginning. This week’s episode is One Small Step. Garrett and Robbie recap and discuss the episode, and share their insight as series regulars. This week they are joined by Bryan Fuller!

One Small Step:
Voyager crosses paths with a rare spatial anomaly that swallowed an Earth ship orbiting Mars in 2032. A discovery that calls for an away mission.

One thing that has always bugged me about this episode is when Chakotay talks about paleontology being his first love yet he’s talking about studying the ancient artifacts. That would be archaeology, not paleontology. My son is an archaeologist yet he is often asked questions about dinosaurs. Two different fields of study!!! Although the one rock did have a fossil, most of the things they were examining were relics from civilizations. It makes more sense that Chakotay’s first love should have been Archaeology.

The kings is reference to the London kings which is a fictional baseball team that Ben Sisko loved on deep space nine from the 21st century

Hi everybody. New by here but been listening since the beginning. I see that the guys watch the episodes on Netflix. I thought Voyager was only on Paramount now. If it's on Netflix I'd like to watch there and ditch Paramount for a while. Thanks for any guidance.

Brandon Kolk

It's not on Netflix, Garret just grabbed all the synopses from there before it left.

Aaron Thorpe

Came here to see if anyone said the same thing :) I thought the Kings reference was a wonderful little bit of continuity. Did the character talk about breaking Bokai's streak, too? Or Bokai breaking DiMaggio's streak? I can't quite remember....

Elias, if a guy named Braxton comes knocking at your door saying he must kill you to correct the timeline, please don't think it's early Halloween.

Love this episode, made me cry at the end (Garrett's not the only one crying lately)
