The Delta Flyers is a weekly Star Trek: Voyager rewatch & recap podcast hosted by Garrett Wang & Robert Duncan McNeill. Each week Garrett and Robert will rewatch an episode of Voyager starting at the very beginning. This week’s episode is The Voyager Conspiracy. Garrett and Robbie recap and discuss the episode, and share their insight as series regulars.

The Voyager Conspiracy:
Seven of Nine begins a new method of data analysis that makes her craft a conspiracy theory that Janeway and Tuvok intentionally stranded Voyager in the Delta Quadrant.

Once Janeway said to Chakotay "let's keep this off our logs" I interpreted their banter after that as just joking about the suspicion not that they still suspected one another. They were having a good time with it.

What I'm wondering is why do Star Trek captains and Personnel on their personal logs have to say the Stardate because wouldn't the computer already have that information tagged on the log?

My favorite thing about this podcast is that Robbie is such a HUGE JC shipper. It tickles my little heart to hear him point out all the little flirty moments between them. And now he knows my pain, watching VOY for seven years and NEVER GETTING A DAMN PAYOFF for that ship. Oh well, what can you do? (Read the novels, is what.)

I also was convinced they'd finally get together. I couldn't believe it when they paired Chakotay with Seven.

The link in my RSS feed isn't working for this episode!

Two things for me: 1) At the end, Janeway says "2 to beam out" while she and Seven were on the Delta Flyer. Does the Flyer have Autopilot to return itself to Voyager? 2) I agree with Robbie that the flashbacks didn't feel smooth, but I loved the idea of them and the references to prior episodes. Wondering if/when Seven's findings from the Caretaker station explosion might become relevant? She might be onto something, just not in the ways she thought.

Thought this very poignant. Once upon a time we had little information, and so it was rare for several random events to line up and create a false pattern…. But now there is so much information available to us that random events “line up” all the time, and therefore there are appear to be conspiracies all over the place. Our brain’s can’t cope with randomness, since they are designed to spot patterns.

That aside; the guys seem to have a different interpretation of “conspiracy theory to me”. If you believe a conspiracy theory, to you it just a conspiracy, not a “conspiracy theory”? I thought that you might believe there was a conspiracy, but a “conspiracy theory” is by definition something you know not to be a real conspiracy?? So my conspiracy may be your conspiracy theory (because you know/believe it isn’t really true)? Robbie’s point about Google and a library BANG on.

Yea, i was surprised it looked like they were throwing away a perfectly good shuttle!!! I guess they tractored it back in off camera

nice to know that computers aren't fully trusted, even hundreds of years into the future 😅
