We’re joined by a former university administrator (who prefers to remain anonymous, though we have reviewed and verified their credentials) for an insider’s perspective of the current state of college administration, and a discussion of just why colleges and universities around the country are reacting with such extreme opposition and often violence to the ongoing pro-Palestinian protests. Topics include increasingly corporate university structure, internal bias against certain perspectives and student organizing, and the foreign influence over university operations.

Holy fuck the slop is flowing good tonight

Juan Gonzalez

I’m sure this will be a banger

Antipaganda

Getting vibes of a TrueAnon April Fool's ep.

Mark

Gather round the trough hogs. Slop is flowing

ploob

Radio War Nerd featuring Jacob Bacharach was a real banger, similar topic.

MoldyTolge

Voice changer! It’s real!

Evan Pitkin

The need for anonymity speaks volumes. What a fucked up country.

Christopher Green

9-11 happened on the second day of my sophmore college year. The collective response to it made me flee the coming complicity of the ivory towers for a hippie life.

Antipaganda

He was told to say "Hamas" instead of Palestine. In any context. There it is, folks. Deliberate dehumanisation.

Last Years Man

Is this Chapo doing actual (non-ironic) journalism?

Antipaganda

Excellent work, thanks Chapo. Lot of good info in this one.

Talcum Gladwell

Great fucking work. Also, I am in a room with no lights and the first time s/he spoke the voice distortion startled the fuck out of me

Russell Sugden

That person really needs to cut down on their cigarette smoking

Jep

I get that there’s giant universities that have these octopus ties to the evil imperial structures of our empire, but are there examples of random backwoods ass hippy or religious schools that are like “you know what, we don’t need to have ties with the MIC or genocidal countries”… hell, is there an example of ANY org in the U.S. that after a credible genocide claim was brought to the ICJ, any org used that even as an excuse to cut an already tenuous tie? “jeeze, we’re suspending our ties to tel aviv - that’s a pretty serious line”. More power to anyone speaking up or protesting, trying to assign any political cost at all to support of these monstrous entities

Dies Irae63

Doing some good , Chapo. Now’s your time to use all your resources and caché and influence to actually fight the fight, not just comment ironically. The pro-genocide lobby must have its daily quota of dismembered infants. Fight like there’s no tomorrow. Because there ain’t if you don’t.

Chris just applied the filter that he used to Will’s voice from the early eps (In all seriousness this is fantastic to hear this perspective, thanks guys for your work)

T

🇮🇱🚽

Aaron Dellutri

Excellent episode really great to hear this person's perspective. Very clarifying. I was listening to this on the drive in to work and I got in early. The intensity must have made me speed a bit!

Budget Hireling

Don’t forget to leave a diet Mountain Dew out for the slop fairy

Blank

Or become a Tom waits backup singer

Matelda

The voice modification is unbearable, can someone make a transcript?

Whucko Jaang

I'ma hafta download this a pitch it up.

Shartk

Peak Chapo. Amazing interview.

Ari

The episode topics recently have been fantastic. Ty

Dylan

Incredible interview with Dril

Adam Holbrook

This was disheartening but really fantastic content, thanks so much to guest

m@tt

The voice modulator was set to ‘Bibi’

🐷

🆓🇵🇸🚮

Matelda

I'm trying

Tim Mullen

I’m not gonna lie I started laughing when the voice modulator was set to emperor Xerxes in 300’s voice

Brian

This guy has a weird voice

Joey

With the deep voice modulation it’s funny to imagine this is Satan himself speaking as to how *even he* could no longer stomach the moral bankruptcy of the university communications apparatus

Doug Cartel

I'll keep asking: if protesting Israeli war crimes makes you Hamas, then what does that make Netanyahu after all those millions of dollars he bribed Hamas with?

Matthew

Excellent interview; pairs well with Michael Parenti's analysis in Democracy for the Few.

Gunnhildr Bloodaxe

OK...So if criticizing the government of Israel is 'antisemitic' would it also stand to reason that if I, for example, criticize the policies of PM Narendra Modi and the BJP in India, does this make me Hinduphobic? Or if I criticize Pres. Xi Xinping am I anti-Chinese? Not only is this broad definition of antisemitism racist against Palestinians -- and insulting to anti-zionist Jews -- but soon all governments will be 'protected' from dissent and we will reductively declare what each peoples' political beliefs should be (we declare that all Jews must be zionists, for example).

Jed Levin

Thanks to Chapo and your guest. I think we all knew about this, but we needed to hear it from someone who’s been on the inside. As Will said, not surprising but jaw-dropping.

CtrlDelete

Please transcribe this so I can share it with senior colleagues whose monocles will drop directly into their soup if I ask them to listen to a "podcast," much less CTH, lol.

TangiePower

I think many of these big investment funds the universities have their wealth tied up in are packaged in such a way that they all have a mix of the biggest companies in the stock market. State pension funds, 401k’s, university endowments are buying packages like “Blackrock Long Term Mix” and “Vanguard S&P Index” (names are made up but that’s the gist) that lean heavily on some of the most evil shit because it pays off so well. Pushing regular people into the stock market via retirement funds brought a lot more investment funds to these quasi-State companies in the military industrial complex. These demands for divestment are an attack on that power structure itself and a lot of entities don’t have the stomach for it. That’s why this movement is so important, I think.

max

This interview was incredible, especially the detailed look into how antisemitism is actually defined or not at these institutions.

Johan Stefonski

This is the best interview with Monstroso from Venture Brothers I've ever heard.

R K

no you dont get it, israel is a very special boy you see

Evelyn B

commenting here to second this notion, i write for my school's SJP newsletter and would like to cite it out of podcast form

Trelhouse

I wish Satan from Smiling Friends all the best in his future.

Tvvvv

They got the monster voice on this one

Basil

So if he's being anonymous, don't you think it's a good idea to REMOVE ALL REFERENCES TO THE SCHOOL HE WAS AT NO MATTER HOW SUBTLE?

Nathan Explosion

i teach in higher ed and i keep getting the missives that this poor bastard had to create. the comments on how much antisemitism there is going on always jump out to me because i’m like “where? what?” i’m there every day. the everything is antisemitic thing just triggers me every time and reveals the project every time. i’ve been squabbling since the arrest crackdown (i work at one of them) and no one even bothers to reply. props to him for walking away. i haven’t worked up the gumption to tell them to screw.

EKB

Thirding this. I mean, I am constantly posting/sharing stuff about the dereliction of corporate higher ed, but this is so pertinent to the particularly depressing and vicious manifestation of that trend against student protesters that I'd love to plaster it all over my socials.

Nathan Explosion

i know this is rhetorical but i would also ask that you come up with a killer punchline

2026-09-09 10:00 The fact that you (feel you) *have* to anonymize the “voice of admin” is the elephant on the couch

Murked87

Welcome to Mad-town

Doug Cartel

Fuck I dont know enough about organized crime to do that sorry

Nathan Explosion

i think he asked. i thought it was a little silly until he started going really hard on Israel specifically, suspecting that he works in NYC higher ed. he won’t work again in major communications if he’s identified.

Of course

Doug, I think one thing has been made abundantly clear. We're all Hamas.

T

They've been doxxing students from the very beginning for shit like signing a ceasefire letter. You know they would destroy an admin's life if they knew his identity.

Nick M

Ain’t no way Jon from Delocated was a university administrator.

Jared Bauer

Fetterman was a university admin?

Louie Luke

I like to listen to the podcast while exercising or driving, it honestly is a bit distracting. I don’t mind it but I would like a transcript to read over for things I might’ve missed.

somedongus

dam dude, I didn't know Dril had worked in higher education

Nick Terlizzi

I had the same re-ac / talk about things that make you go pfft

Jack Hand

I feel this in my bones. From organising for Bernie to the last couple of years feels like a different chapo. I hope they can impress me again. *says the privileged white boy, not organising or helping in anyway*

Melting Kentucky

It's worse than I thought. All our universities have been infiltrated by Skynet.

SF

Someone get this guy a Ferrari cake

Brendan Costello

Glad to hear that Elizabeth Holmes landed on her feet; the ethics lessons of Theranos were a good prep for the field of educational (corporate) communications....

sophie

can’t decide whether it’s more hilarious or more terrifying that this guy’s voice has to be distorted like he’s talking about extrajudicial executions he carried out for the cia meanwhile he’s talking about a university PR job ….

Brent

Wait, it wasn’t Satan? A lesser demon, surely

THEKILLERWHALE

You can see the light bulb going off with some of the more repressive states. The Qatari state citing 'orientalism' driving the World Cup slave protests comes to mind. And retroactively applying this standard is actually pretty fun. I really want there to exist a New York Times op-ed from the Iraq War era citing just how unsafe Americans felt travelling abroad and their deep shame at pretending to be Canadian.

Logan

Great episode

🐷

🆓🇵🇸🚮

Matthew Krueger

lol difference in kind, or degree? How does this world keep managing to get worse by the day?

Justin Fry

best ep in a long time, great interview. bless that man

Dammit Joe

Not having a clear, public definition of “antisemitism” is the point. So much easier to smear your opponents and not be outright lying.

ploob

Double Speak

ploob

LESSKO!

Chris Allen

Wonderful episode. Great work to make this interview happen and thanks to that person for speaking out. ❤️

Gentlesir

loved his honesty about going along to get along until you find your limit. Imagine your very access to healthcare and pussy depended on engaging in the type of shit he described.

@ByTheBaeram

Really sounds like he turned his life around since Charlie’s visit!

Elder

He sounds like a Harkonnen, Im not surprised

Michael Combs

35 mins in and my jaw fell thru the floor. Fuck

Goji

Thank you so much for the person who spoke to Will about this!! Really exceptionally insightful!!

Brian

This guy must be HUGE

The documentary The Lobby is about the Israeli government on college campuses in America. TrueAnon has a great episode about it.
