I had a similar thought. Unfortunately rather than being like a Bonobo or some chimps, Biden probably won't recognize his image in the mirror and will instead start fighting it, like a parakeet. Dark Brandon running against the Joe of the debate might be fun for fans of the MCU, but I doubt it'll work electorally. (And there's no telling how his much cognitive decline his alter ego(s) is/are experiencing.) If this is a pre-planned situation, it's definitely anti-democratic (in an even more blatant way than in 2020), and it kind of undermines the idea that "voters" would pressure him to step down -- voters will no longer play any part in the nomination process.

I was a fan of the set-up theory. The timing of this made me think it was kayfabe. Every one around him had to know that some version of this is what would happen, and the summer gives them plenty of time to swap him out. If they can successfully do that there Project 2025 is just a next logical step. For them it isn't an either/or it's a "yes, and".
