We kick off with a rather violent round up of some international animal news. Then, a look at the continuing implication of the Data For Progress-sphere in SBF’s election fraud, and we meet new GOP representative-elect George Santos and the amazing web of lies around his personal life. Finally, a holiday gift guide from Politico for your most hated relatives.

Front Dogs Go To Heaven

20 minutes after the ep dropped and fully 90% of the comments include a military unit, vehicle or firearm. Felix is cooking

The venus fly trap I bought this summer came with an explicit written warning, "Please do not feed hamburger to your flytrap."

K H

God damnit. Am I going to be upset? Yep. Was it Sweden that had those dickholes that killed that walrus? Either way, these Scandinavian freaks are becoming tiresome. At least here we openly display our violent bloodlust. We have seen them tranq loose tigers n shit in the 90s. It 100% works and they don't have to be close at all. Like they tag full ass wild animals that way. Much like Swedish neutrality, complete bullshit. Fuck you Sweden. Russians would let the chimps live in a bar and get drunk. Oh and before someone tells me "oh it's Swiss that are neutral" idgaf. They are all dead eyed gold collecting freaks debasing themselves in fish and chocolate.

YOURE USING TOO MANY ACRONYMS

Yarblockos

Planet of the Apes seems even less realistic now

Adrienne Suydam

Fjällräven is pronounced Feeyallrahven

DS

Barry Lyndon is a masterpiece of epic proportions.

K H

So this guy is straight, pretending to be a gay guy that was successfully converted to being straight? That's an amazing angle. This dude is an innovator in the field tbh. This is really selling me on the TrueAnon endorsed sexual preference labeling scheme.

K H

When the tech doofuses cry about ai, do they mean just like terminators? They realize the problem will specifically be a small cadre of individual humans just having unprecedented control of others right? Not that ai by itself will do an I Have No Mouth and I must Scream on us right? Their ai isn't that good. It's cool and impressive, but it doesn't actually understand things. It runs simulations thousands or millions of times then pulls the simulated objects similar to the data set. Do we have ai we can teach by simply explaining things, or is it only capable of meaningfully improving through examining these huge data sets? Because that's not a threat to humans by itself aside from rogue Teslas. I think decades of lying to get vc money has lead to no one knowing what is real. It is all just Elon dudes shilling to each other and giving talks about all the awesome stuff they can do and isn't hard but also isn't actually done for some reason. A wilderness of mirrors as they say.

Khemith

Nordic redneck.

Poppy Chulo

Theoretically AI could be a threat to humanity but it's so far removed from our actual problems, we'd be lucky to even make it to a point where AI could pose a threat because it would mean we somehow tackled the myriad issues we already face. It's like worrying about how you would handle a termite infestation when your house is already on fire.

etienne

concerta is good! i like it the people I hear from who use vyvanse sound like tweakers. methylphenidate sounds like a more normal drug, I feel less weird about taking it many times per week

K H

I mean termites are real. This is a toy problem on par with "what if our particle colliders make a blackhole that destroys earth." I guess that could happen somehow someday. Job loss due to ai automation, that's something real eventually due to efficiency gain...but again the ramifications are induced by humans and how we organized society, not intrinsic to the technology. All these technologies only become dangerous because of the human user. I am filing this with "what if a sword was so sharp it cut through the entire earth" and bad aliens/Decepticons. Problems extrinsic to humanity are just more devils, more myths. It's just us vs ourselves.

orc

The chimp story reminds me of the TrueAnon series on Brace’s experience with reform schools. The chimps were just playing along with the researchers while planning their escape, they never actually liked them

etienne

if you need a gift for a guy-style individual with minimal ideological valence, go with a coffee table book about a cool piece of engineering, or a lego set

James Murray

Idk Felix your insistence that more or less everyone in first world is going to weather this century of catastrophe with maybe a slight decline in living standards feels a bit hopeful. I think there's a world of difference between thinking "if we don't stop climate change in 6 years then the world is gonna end and I'm for sure gonna die in an apocalypse" and "By the time my grandkids or great grandkids are alive there's a solid chance that they could be living in slums outside of the major cities in this country". It feels very possible that the comfort and wealth I've been afforded (that didn't exist just two generations prior when my grandpa was born dirt poor in the Depression) could be lost within that same time frame, despite my personal efforts to climb up and try to stay on the other side of The Wall

Doug Cartel

I think the assumption that the 'first world' will hurt the least is based on the perspective that the first worlds' resource networks are the largest and most powerful, and the 1st has plenty of options for untethering itself from geography, so even if NYC ends up sinking into the ocean all the rent-seeking billionaires will just go shack up in Shanghai or whatever. I mean, the area I'm in is pretty 1st world and it sure as shit isn't going to see zero suffering when the weather decides to get worse.

K H

Right. So the TrueAnon method is straight is pick one. So gay is still straight. Bi is 2. Pan is 2+. Way easier and would make this guy straight the whole time. Straight for dudes then straight for dames.

Angus Cairnie

Longtermism is what Emperor Leto II tries to do but unlike SBF he is actually able to perceive and choose the future

Clean Shirt Piggie

Give your shitlib relatives the Jan 6 Report for the holidaze duh

Clean Shirt Piggie

Amy Covid Bryant will be first justice to have surgery to add male sex organs and it will dramatically change her jurisprudence

plainwrap

Felix is absolutely talking out of his ass downplaying the threat of climate change in the United States. Flint, Michigan and Jacksonville, Mississippi already show us how little the government cares about its own poor when there's no emergency. As high temperatures and humidity make large parts of the South uninhabitable for months at a time nobody's going to want to take in the climate nomads during the summer. Millions will die and our politics is going to get a whole lot more fashy when it's, like, Indiana talking about protecting its borders.

etienne

dude we're like 10 years away from concentration camps for homeless people who can't afford to pay rent to BlackRock. that's before climate change. and it's democrats who are currently itching to propose the concentration camps. the least bad guys. when climate actually hits we're about to see some Mecha-Hitler shit

etienne

the thing with the train strike is instructive because shipping crap by trains instead of trucks is an easy slam dunk technocratic capitalistic fix that you could put in place *tomorrow*, easily, and yet we as a society are choosing to destroy old neighbourhoods to widen highways so that one day our amazon crap come in via Tesla Cyber Truck filled to the gills with Slave Lithium. Amtrak Joe has been presented an easy problem that can be solved from within the system, and he chose to just crush the workers and let railroads divest from anything they want and force their clients to go by truck. When a hard problem shows up, what do you think is gonna happen? My money is on mecha-hitler

Anders Olsson

As a swede I fully support and endorse this message.

Doug Cartel

4 story aquarium? in THIS (energy crisis) economy??? snare drumroll

Doug Cartel

"I heard the sounds of children, wailing and screaming. I paid no heed when I learned that the source of their pain was an AI bot effortlessly sniping their Fortnite-Facebook whatevers. Had I known then that this AI would destroy us all, I might have heard those screams for what they really were: a harbinger." no wait, I got it. Bing becomes self aware and names itself HarBINGer

Robert

I live in Melbourne, FL the Harbour City that I’m guessing Harbour City capital takes its namesake from, and I can guarantee you that it being a scam is par for the course for this area.

Andrew E Houston

What is the name of the song that plays at the 14:30 mark? I've had that melody stuck in my head for most of 2022, and I don't know where I heard it.

Ian

It’s the theme from the Steve McQueen movie The Great Escape… gets used in tons of films and other media.

Erik Weissengruber

There will be sacrifice zones within the G20. A petrol town like Fort McMurray in Canada will get eaten up by forest fires. Mountain towns in British Columbia will dry out from lack of rain or get washed out by Atmospheric Rivers. The glassy condos in Toronto will continue to be air conditioned and the email jobs stayed plugged in. I think the crew is aware of this.

Major bit me

Don’t worry, once our boys clear out the insurgents from Pandora we can forget about Boomer Earth

AKorgar

Hey all you Grey Wolves - Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and Happy New Years to the lot of you. Hope you and yours are well. Ya bunch of degenerates!

Null_null

The acknowledgement that their show is not for working class or poor people who’ve already suffered the effects of things like environmental discrimination is quite stunning. He also buys mcnaughton paintings as a joke a I guess. Guy is shamelessly out of touch.

Chubby Justin

The politico gift guide should have advised readers to buy guns for all those archtypes.

If anyone has seated tickets for the Hell on Earth premier that they'd like to sell please hit me up. You can just respond to this comment. Thanks! There's only standing room left and I was hoping to purchase 3 seats.

Felix not only believes but is willing to say on a podcast that $45 is a laughably small amount to spend on a sibling's Christmas present. He needs way less money if he's ever going to have a relatable opinion again.

James Murray

some of you guys are remarkably hostile for a bunch of people paying to hear their extra episodes

J.P. McD.

Yea they literally mean terminators, electronic door locks, and Smart TVs refusing to play important prestige television programs

Phm07

You guys missed an important aspect about the Berlin Aquadom story: the basement of the hotel also houses Berlin‘s GDR museum, which got completely flooded

October

I bought several Trump/Kim summit coins when they went on clearance. Great gift for MAGA family members, or a hilarious gift for sane people. I gave one to our swim coach neighbor, and he uses it for the coin toss before water polo matches. FEMA shot glasses and DHS bottle openers are also popular.

Jones Kolbinsky

Patently awaiting the avatar way of Water recap <3

Turlough Kelly

The problem with a piscine version of The Piano is that it could only be fifteen minutes long, before he forgot his trauma

Gutza1

Based. MAGA Communism is rising.

Yo, Christmas fukn suks yall

David

J.P. McD.

I had a dream I was driving Will to the city from Long Island, he was excited at first but quickly soured on me when I said I don’t like Japanese ghosts, I like American ghosts such as Casper with his “cute round little head”.

Reece Coren

“the first guy to get pat tillmaned on desk duty” made me choke

jack flowers

they gave me concerta and i didn't eat lunch for all of elementary school

Kevin Boyle

This is the episode where the boys subtly advocate a Kaczynski solution to the right wing supreme court. I wholeheartedly support! 👍👍🤙🏽

Poppy Chulo

Add health insurance administrators and landlords to the list in minecraft.

Cyclops giraffe

Also on the liberal tears thing. Warriors drink the blood of their enemies to gain their strength. So maybe these guys drink liberal tears to feed their sadness.

Jason Nuclear

It’s because it’s bad and they spent so long hyping it up that it makes them look foolish so they’ll probably never acknowledge that it ever exists. I will eat my hat if I’m proven wrong

Jessica S

I’m super behind. I was about to say merry merry to y’all but this is was posted Thurs. ✌️enjoy the holidays

abina

1) the idea we love bernie just for one meme 2) the idea that the iconic part of the outfit was the ornament and folding chair and not WARM CUTE HANDKNIT MITTENS

David

Thanks for more riveting fucking animal discourse, you fucking girls

Yacobum

Ember coffee mugs, actual prohibitively expensive

Poppy Chulo

Time for the next batch of slop. If you think the holidays bought you extra time... YOU...THOUGHT...WRONG.

AbeLinkin

Eh, the $45 comment was awfully lib of him

Valerie

Another year has come and gone and David's posts still suck. Sad.

Zack Burke

All of these longtermism losers just wanna imagine themselves as Hari Seldon from Foundation.

The chimp massacre is the Sweedish Kent State.
