Hi Nolan. How are your financials looking these days? Me? I’m trapped in the city. Spend most of my dough on rent. Can’t save up to leave. Gotta keep working!

Ant koz

Dude listening to this brings me back to this time. Watching the og season of Lindy king with my dad over thanksgiving in a rented cabin at a farm in somewhere near Gettysburg PA. We fucking laughed for hours… and when chapo boys came on, and began speaking about stalone and the world of Tulsa, a fictional city that I flew into to go to rehab when I was 18.. it was like returning home for the first or last time. Wow. My father who had enjoyed Hell of prez was suddenly interested in the other show those guys do (once he found out he’d be returning to Tulsa he couldn’t resist) which I had been telling him to check out. And he did and mattmindsett brought him to the light. A lib no more… thank you Tulsa. God bless Tulsa.

Great episode, just listened to the entire thing

Joe Demey

Just saw this today sure was 3 hours

Every member of the Chapo Trap House podcast has received loads from James Cameron. Cum, folks. We’re talking ropey shiny white loads of that old dude’s auteur cum.

Crashh

James Cameron does what James Cameron does because James Cameron is James Cameron.

SeymoreButts

After laughing at Adam Friedlands dad years ago I can now confirm post-Avatar depression is real and there is NO CURE

Victor Prado

I’m 2 min in and this better be a fucking joke

Better put the noose back on

plainwrap

To quote a wise woman, "Somehow, heartbreak feels good in a place like this."

csalyer .

Idk what the fuck anyone is talking about. Is it a movie or something?

Equality State Of Mind

They did another full-episode bit. Never stops. They do that for the whole thing.

Blorst of times

Tulsa King is good stuff. Benny from the sopranos is in it. So is the guy that played AJ’s scumbag friend Ernan.

DeftHanded

Avatar 2 is hot garbage. Fight me about it.

Kyle Smyth

Avatar at its core is about insect-like humans getting crushed by a 200 ton sentient whale and impaled by 10 foot tall blue ladies. There's some other things going on but that's the important stuff

PraiseTheSun

Wouldn't it be wet garbage since it's water avatar?

Alex B

I live in Hollywood and there's this big full-wall ad for Tulsa King that I walk by every day that has a motion sensor to detect when someone walks by and play audio of some guy saying "You gotta go down to Tusa for the big bucks" and Stallone responding "Wuuhhh?"

plainwrap

May you end your pointless lonely rage like Payakan.

DeftHanded

I’ll fight him too and harvest that life extending brain fluid of his.

Don Tickles

Fuck boys I've been waiting all Christmas for the Avitar episode you did that on purpose you even wrapped it in a Navi title screen and had me ignore my family this is the worst Christmas ever I hate you

Don Tickles

I'm just kidding I love youse I'm sorry

PraiseTheSun

your profile pick makes your comment hilarious

T.A. Martin

Next tour you should do a show in the mythical city of Tulsa just to prove whether or not it's real.

Jingle Jangler

Is it sad that half the reason I rushed to see Avatar asap was so that I could listen to the coming Chapo episode at release? Love it boys.

Kyle Smyth

I've been bamboozled

testytesttest

please drop the gay potion bit, it's homophobic and (worse) not funny

One time I did a gig at the Mercury Lounge in Tulsa and got lured to a shack in the woods about 40 miles away by 2 girls who "wanted to party," then the guy at the shack came out shirtless to meet us and said, "What's up, y'all, I like to FIGHT," so me & the singer left to have 3 a.m. Perkins. The other 2 band members stayed because there were tons of drugs there, but they started calling us almost immediately after we left; when we came back, they were hiding in the bushes, and they explained they'd been kicked out of the shack for referring to a taxidermy animal therein as "a stuffed mountain goat," to which the shirtless guy said, "It's a RAM, and I think y'all need to fuckin' leave." 2008.

testytesttest

the premise is that someone had to be punished or penalized for losing a bet, and the punishment was to take a "dark web gay poison". I know it's not that deep, but it's still implying that being gay is some sort of undesirable or adverse outcome. And like I said, it's also a bad bit - lazy and not funny. Edit: Matt says in this episode "I had to stay home for a week until I tested negative for 'gay'." Will also refers to it in passing as "the gay poison". If you can't see how that's homophobic I can't help you!

Pelican Grief

Shoots fired at the nitrous mafia lol

AbeLinkin

They’re joking…

justdave

Did you make a ewe-turn?

Major bit me

They use homophobia to mask their true desire to drink the potion and switch sides, it’s bad means to a good end

testytesttest

ya sure, we can meme about it, but even the replies to my comment (exercising my god-given right to complain online btw) like hOw iS iT HOmOphoBIc and tHeY'rE jOKiNg completely prove my point

Poppy Chulo

One of the biggest tragedies of television was Party Down not getting renewed. It didn't help that it was on Starz which kills shows almost as often as netflix. It also didn't help that Adam Scott had one foot out the door from the time the second season started. And funny enough he hasn't done anything as good as Party Down since, he left one of the best comedies of the last twenty years for fucking milquetoast neolib Parks and Recreation.

Poppy Chulo

I mean it's homophobic if you're soft as baby shit, but I think a lot of gay people would find it funny. It's ironic humor, they're not actually saying being gay is bad or something to be afraid of which is the definition of homphobia.

Poppy Chulo

I was being completely courteous with you but you're being a bitch now.

Socrates 2

Yeah the fundamental premise of the joke isn't that it's bad to be gay, but that saying gay is bad is itself puerile and ignorant

Jocelyn

Ok I’m not listening to this

Aaron Baer

Somehow we will manage without you ... Be strong though for all of us

Dan

Maybe I’m a dinosaur, but white lotus sucks ass. Unwatchable pain.

greybuscat

He didn't call it poison because of the gay part, you moron, but because if you really ordered something like that, it would be a tube filled with household cleaners and food dye.

Adam

Isn't the concept of protection money just that what they're really paying for is protection from the people they're paying, hence why it's a "protection racket" did you guys think the mafia is actually protecting them from other criminals lol?

Clean Shirt Piggie

I think Chapo just gets paid to promote shit and that’s it now

K H

Wait...so what did I just spend $69 for? It definitely felt like it was working earlier.

Reuben Simpson

Did u just say it’s worse to be unfunny than homophobic…wow.. just, wow.

Reuben Simpson

I was just relistening to the SOA episodes of the past and hearing it come up again in this shit has me losing it☠️ anyways I’m gay and currently looking for the street fight episode that birthed this—cuz it’s making me into Brian with Mayans bc having my gf roll over in bed as i dive deeper into the lore of this bullshit

K H

Imagine walking into a mans shack and insulting his dermy. I'd have kilt u dead personally. Then again, I'm gay.

K H

Well don't undo your knot just yet.

Sean Earl Beard

Way of water is good. I don’t know what this episode is about

Pepipopa

Honestly Yellowstone is a great reactionary show. You can really dig into the brain of right wingers and their hate of liberals (which a lot of us share)

Michael S. Judge

I hain't said a word of it myself. I hain't even never laid eyes on the ram

Jamin Kreighbaum

It's amazing that you're even listening to this show having no understanding that they are making fun of right-wing culture paranoia, specifically homophobic conspiracy theories

Sam Sal

Fuck you matt

adam

Yeah this got me, the boys seemingly don’t know that protection rackets are only for legal businesses

Doug Cartel

wasnt Stallone the guy who revolutionized hand jobs when he was caught on tape asking a girl to work his balls AND his shaft at the same time Also the euro-lib version of stallones' whole pronouns rant is when the guy in Lillehammer sees a muslim guy speaking arabic to his wife and she suddenly looks sad so he slaps him around and goes WE TREAT OUR WOMEN WIT RESPECT HERE IN NORWAY WHERE IVE ONLY BEEN HERE FOR FIVE MINUTES

Isaac Jones

Incomprehensible comment

Terrance McDonald

I thought the mafia used to extort money from legal businesses all the time? I thought the money businesses would pay the mob for “protection” basically meant that money protected them from that very same mob fucking their store up.

testytesttest

homophobia is ok if it's ironic, got it thanks everyone! so leftism but only for straight folks ^._.^b

Katherine Moss

Yeah. I thought it was a threat. An unstated threat. I’ll protect you from myself and my buddies. Weird that the boys don’t know this?

William

Pretty average episode - 3/5. Good as background noise while you do other stuff

Michael Bugless

How about this, stop being a little whiny bitch. If you don’t like it don’t listen. “Wahhhh leftism is for straight folks” no, it’s a single podcast, not a totem for the entire left movement, and the three guys making it aren’t beholden to mewling diaper-fillers in their Patreon comments.

Michael Bugless

“Soft as baby shit” got me good, well-done ✊

Yacobum

Fine I’ll listen to QAnon anonymous during my workout

Katherine Moss

I like the old mafia. They must’ve had something good going on. Were they taken down by Giuliani? Idk the facts behind that. But, what “the mob” has been replaced by isn’t cool. Like, wasn’t the mob part of unions back then? Unions would become way more effective if we had some attack dogs to go break some legs. Just sayin? Man, I hate Christmas.

TangiePower

The cure is taking a walk in the woods

The Pissler

Commit eco-terrorism, you’ll be fine

Reeves Peeler

Yellowstone is incredible. The bar scene Will describes is an all-time great moment. Costner becoming governor on an explicitly anti-developer platform is something the Left in this country should learn from. We should treat Yimbys with the same contempt the Dutton’s have for the California yuppies taking over Montana.

fivefootone

Taylor Sheridan was in my dads fraternity lol. Apparently he changed his name from Taylor Gibbler after dropping out, which was probably a good call

Matthew

I can’t believe they made demolition man 2

Nolan

@9:10 fuck you I snort oxy’s watch south park like an ADULT.

justdave

America is a dialectic between fake cowboys who have every drug and sex hang up and fantasize about the most grizzly murders possible and those who believe in 'the Law of attraction,' the hyper nihilistic feelgoodism of total positivity and abandonment of anything and anyone not 'valued' - shit is a psychic time bomb of murder suicide

J.P. McD.

Stop criticizing the boys about protection money - what they understand and commenters don’t is that you still need plausible deniability that there’s something to “protect” against, even if both parties know it’s BS. It’s like when I invite a woman on a first date over to “watch me play the Tiny Tina DLC on Borderlands 2”

Bryan

no way they're stretching this 4/10 cold open bit into an entire episode. oh they are. ok. epic

Bryan

fuck we're after the music and they're still doing it.

Blake B

For the first 4 minutes of the episode, I genuinely thought you were talking about Avatar and Stallone was being used to represent Jake Sully… and the same with Tulsa as Pandora 😂

David

Yeah, was I supposed to actually be disappointed that you didn't do the stupid fucking Avatar movie, was that the point of the whole stupid, incredibly long and tedious opening joke? Yknow, the one that doesn't even remotely makes sense to anyone who hasn't been listening to your fucking show already?

David

Looking forward to ignoring whatever crap episode you do about the Avatar movie

Brendan A. MacWade

It's totally a MAGA show. There's nothing for a socialist like me to learn from it. The property rights worship in that show is obscene.

Brendan A. MacWade

Not taking about anything substantive? OK, I can skip this one.

etienne

20m in and it sounds like a good ol fashioned Chapo TV episode. Those are good, actually!

Laurel

I figured:)

absoluteboi

chapoheads taking an L on this one

cosmia

as a dark web gay potion saleswoman, i must admit it's a pretty solid bit

Saga

Had to look up Domenick Lombardozzi in the wig - he looks like Samwise Gamgee if he drowned in that river and they found him a month later.

Bobi Jon-son Kenobi

Well I do gay stuff and I think it’s very funny, so lighten up, Francis

Alal Alal

why listen to that show when you can just listen to trueanon?

K H

Source for audio?

Valerie

You trying to blue-ball me, Chapo??? I waited 13 years to see the sequel to my favorite movie of all time, I have unlimited power to endure the wait for the requisite sequel to the greatest Chapo episode of all time <3

Brandon Lucero

Good thing this is a tv show recap episode!

Zach Pierce

I FUCKING HATE ANTI ITALIAN DISCRIMINATION.

The Etymology of Nonsense

OK but in all fairness there is a nitrous mafia run by motorcycle criminals who will fuck you up if you try selling nitrous at a festival

Folks,,

Most are but this one is good

Boaz Corey

As in, they're the only ones allowed to supply, right? I heard about a guy who screwed them somehow and they held him down and froze his lungs...

The Etymology of Nonsense

Yup. I've heard similar and definitely seen them beat the fuck out of someone for acting like an idiot in the line to get a balloon. It's a really bizarre corner of the hippie festival scene

Joe Bowden

You’re literally paying for this you freak

Chris

shut da fuck up

Will

Guys help me out here. What the heck is a Lindy.

etienne

fuck the Avatar ep we need a proper Yellowstone review

etienne

literally the best part of the show are movie reviews

CoatCheckDream

I'm not on Chapo, but I have some thoughts on Yellowstone. I binged what was available of the show at the time between two Saturday acid trips. At the end of one of the seasons, someone tries to assassinate all of the Duttons. There's a bomb in a package delivered to Beth Dutton's office. Beth Dutton has half her face burned up pretty good. In the premiere of the next season, something like four days have passed since the attacks and she is 100% hot again with no scars and she's talking that hot dom game that makes me wish I was a sub. That is good writing. I don't care what anyone says, too much realism in TV/movies is how we get shit like Ana Kasparian going on RM Brown and admitting to believing Yellowstone is somehow a cultural representation of what it's like to work in agriculture. As an almost lifelong Iowan with a tremendous respect for agriculture, I can tell you that when we go to battle with our enemies who work the fields adjacent to ours, we sure as shit ARE NOT THINKING ABOUT OUR DUMB FUCKING ANCESTORS who made our entire state ripe for an accurate mocking as portrayed in The Music Man (written by our native son Robert Meredith Willson.) No, when we grab our rifles and side arms and hop into a pickup truck bed and get ourselves amped for battle by calling our enemies homophobic slurs, we are not thinking about our own individual insignificance compared to the ancient glacial conditions that left us with such fertile farmland to help feed so many people in a planet with an absolutely booming population. There is nothing spiritual or anti-alienating about it. When we go to battle, as is often the case in world of agriculture, it is about one thing and one thing only: stealing industrially supplied meth precursor. We are a DIY people who prefer to make as much of our own meth as possible. We do not like importing meth unless we have to. Oh BTW, plant geneticists and highly automated machines do like 89% of the work in industrial agriculture now. There are no longer "farmhands" as such. Farmers will have to hire seasonal day laborers (usually by recycling teenagers and never having to pay much or possibly undocumented migrants) for certain projects/annual chores, but the agrarian thing has been dead for decades and it started dying before WWII.

Hudson

I love the movie Stripes and one of the best parts is when they try to sign up for the army. Asked if they're gay, their response is 'no, but we are willing to try' Is that homophobic joke? Are all gay jokes by non-gay persons homophobic??

testytesttest

copy and pasting because you can't read "the premise is that someone had to be punished or penalized for losing a bet, and the punishment was to take a "dark web gay poison". I know it's not that deep, but it's still implying that being gay is some sort of undesirable or adverse outcome. And like I said, it's also a bad bit - lazy and not funny. If you can't see how that's homophobic I can't help you!"

plainwrap

Sylvester Stallone plays a 75-year old tough guy, a relic of the past, released from prison into a strange new world where the younger generation is too soft and sensitive to handle their own problems. That's right, this show sounds like a gritty reboot of 'Demolition Man'.

Dan

REVIEW CRAZY STUPID LOVE PLEASE JESUS ITS The premier , the URR milllenial movie. IT HAS EVERYTHING SHIT MAN PLEASE DONT LET THE ZOOMERS DISCOVER ITS POWER FIRST SAVE US

Poppy Chulo

I've those ght about trying to watch it but it looks really fucking boring.

Michael Bugless

Imagine typing this and thinking they or anyone else gives a shit what you think lol

Simon Rodriguez

This anecdote is funnier than anything in this pod ep.

Hudson

technically not a movie though

Hudson

Imagine them caring in the slightest. You can't do it.

Reeves Peeler

I mean it’s a silly fictional show but calling it MAGA is kinda ridiculous. In the episode I’m referring to Costner’s character (the ranch owner and governor) decides to put the whole ranch in a permanent conservation easement (ie make it public property) to keep vacation condo developers away from it.

danny hotsauce

I still feel extremely slighted that Missouri refused to give filming incentives for Taylor Sheridan’s genius…

Kilo

The voice actor for Daxter from Jak & Daxter???

Poppy Chulo

No, and that's not why most listeners subscribe. They can be good but are not the cream.

Andrew E Houston

Do they ever resolve the dinosaur bones and treasure hunters sub-plot from season 1?

Andrew E Houston

Yellowstone does have a bitchin' Suicidal Tendencies song in season 2. That's my review

Cindy Carrot

Most gay potions don't even work

Nolan

God I wish I wasn’t poor so that I too could walk among the Sylvester Stallone interactive advertisements.

Marcus

The flag thing sounds like a good hustle.

Adrian Nakić

Somebody woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning! (A clever phrase I use sometimes)

Hector Jaime

Can you please put out one more episode before the year ends? One I want to listen to?

Will

But seriously.

David Hofberg

I'm just here to be mad at things

H G

everyone in these comments needs to get their blood sugar right

manmanboyboyman

I for one think it's really awesome to pay $5/month to get very mad

orc

Love a show that gives people mental illness

Jessica S

I always say I’ve gotta find a job like that. I can easily make people hate me, whether they’ll pay to complain about remains to be seen.

Crosley Querin

I actually skipped this episode over my Christmas break so I could watch Avatar first, to discover I have been trolled.

Daniel Dermont

Stallone just said this is his swan song
