I think Desantis doesn't understand something crucial about Trumps success. He understands the culture war stuff, but he's missing the ADHD of Trump. He focuses on one or two culture war issues for too long. He doesn't understand that Trumps jumping from one dumb social media conspiracy to the next isn't the reason why trump failed. It's the reason why he won his first election. His inability to actually accomplish things is why people love him. Trump allows them to create whatever brain melted stories they want. Like Roseanne said, they love him because they get to pretend they're in an action movie. Desantis takes their imaginative fantasy away.
