Chuck

Right before the holidays. You do love us!

Mitch H.

I'm thankful for all these handsome generals

Yarblockos

Love this series, it's like A People's History of the United States, but better.

will michel

this is a great series. big thank you to our beautiful boys matt and chris

Jö

My high school history teacher said his friend once got arrested in Georgia because when he got pulled over for speeding and the cop asked if he knew how fast he was going, he said, “Not as fast as Sherman!”

Woodrow Skillson

It's him or Buchanan, do you consider blindly careening the country into a civil war, or rending that wars sacrificed moot, worse

jjmm

Can't wait for the 70s. I heard these late on YouTube and the guy uploading them couldn't get away with the Nixon years lol

Cullen S

I always remember Chester A Arthur from the (red herring) riddle by Simon Gruber in Die Hard with a Vengeance. Chris/Matt have unwittingly confirmed to me that obscure movie trivia is all I need to know about ol’ Blackjack Chester

James Burkeen

Chris: Mentions Charles Guiteau Me, a Sondheim Stan: Does the pointing Leonardo thing and starts singing “I am going to the Lordy!!”

Socialswine

Ay Chris do you reckon you will ever upload time for my stories here?

Kyle Cassidy

Fun fact: people in that free-love commune that 86ed Charlie Giteau would refer to him as "Charlie Git-Out".

Sam

Best ep in the series. Matt is really in his depth in this period of history.

Kinetics Video

Not as good looking as Tom Cruise but equal faces

drizzly_november

Slight nitpick: Rutherfraud wasn’t the first Harvard lawyer president, that was John Adams.

Edward H

Now that it’s over, would love to hear Matt’s thoughts on comparisons between Johnson and Biden

K U

Came back here after watching Death By Lightning. Curious how it matches up with the real history.

Greg

Me too!

Koshin

Same!

Reece Coren

the old union pacific doesn’t come by here much anymore

Reece Coren

the b in rutherfraud hayes stands for bubble

Reece Coren

in all seriousness, I was taught in my white, suburban high school that reconstruction was actually worse for Black Americans than slavery. thank you guys for telling the real history ❤️

Will Clarke

Adams graduated from Harvard and was a lawyer but did not attend Harvard Law School (it was founded in 1817) and Hayes is the first Harvard Law School president (one of two with Obama) so I think they just mispoke
