Gotta admit when I first saw "Christian" I thought it said Christman and I got really excited for half a second.

Reginaldkillington

In this trying time we're all yearning for guidance from our largest son

Guy Guyerson

I understand people have to make the rounds when they’re debuting something new, but I do get annoyed when all of my favorite parasocial pals interview the same guest

David DeCorte

I'm currently working my way through the back catalogue of Ghost Stories for the End of the World, and am halfway through the Octopus episodes. Good timing... suspiciously good, actually 🤔🤔🤔

Ian H

Acceptable for Vincent Bevins only

Guy Guyerson

Loved The Jakarta Method, obviously 💯

etienne

ive been relistening to the Poppy series and Will's open on part I is absolutely haunting me today

Billy Thunderhawk

I was honestly dreading this, have heard them on multiple different podcasts and still have no idea what they are talking about. Was thinking earlier today "hope they don't do Chapo too". First ever whining post oink oink

Mikey Cera

Just finished this, spooky.

Maciek

I got all excited cuz I thought we about to have a ghost stories cross ep. I dunno if this Netflix shits good or not but go check out the octopus series on ghost stories.

Petrorenminbi

I listened to their true anon interviews and had the same thought. Then I watched the first 3 episodes on Netflix last night and the series does a really good / better job of explaining all this stuff. I went to bed with a pretty clear sketch of the entire thing, plus a fear one of the Nicholses would kill me in my sleep

Natalie

I think you should care about more important things

Big-Stink

this was fucking insane

gardenwallflower

Amazing story and documentary, but these guys have no idea how to give an interview and tell a story on a podcast episode. They launch into 10 tangents about picking up Michael Riconosciuto from prison before even explaining who he (or Danny) is. So frustrating guys get it together

NYCM&AHole

Sloppo slophouse slop slop

Billy Thunderhawk

I get the sense that the story they want to tell (whatever it is) is pretty interesting. While they are being interviewed/discussing it, it's pretty unintelligible. No structure, no through line. Like listening to an old man ramble on tangents

RG13

The Shining Murders was what we were discussing.

Jeffrey Miller

After 15 minutes I had to stop listening because I was lost. I'll definitely check out the documentary, though.

Jennifer Reft

Some of you all are really tripping. I thought this was a great episode. Also, you have to be really old to know this but I’m positive that Spy magazine covered this-I think focused on the journalist murder back in the 90s-as described in this episode, it was pretty vague, but all the elements were there.

Ashay Guevara

Damnnn, y'all from Louisville? Even cooler than I thought. Go Cards!

Tim O'

They just left the TrueAnon Zoom call and logged right into the Chapo one 👍

RG13

I’m on my way home to my love. This shit’s just vestigial and entertainment and you should learn that mass politics is just what you make of it.

Fernando

TrueAnon had 2 episodes of this already

Watermane

It's called press tour

Untold Suffering

I cannot follow any of this shit no matter how many chapo adjacent podcasts cover it

Watermane

Ghost Stories for the End of the World did an octopus series already a while back

Poppy Chulo

It's so obvious that laziness has completely taken over with the flow of content. How many weeks now have they skipped the Monday release or substituted with some pre-recorded shit from months ago? It wouldn't be a big deal if this was free but we pay for it.

Poppy Chulo

I don't care if it is, I don't subscribe for lazy bullshit.

Jessica S

lol, I was just finishing up the TA episodes, thinking about how Zachary sounds like Noah.

chapotraphouse

And you’re going to get at least 4 episodes this week lol

drewb

Zachary Treats

Poppy Chulo

Chris, didn't you bust in your pants when you had Devo on for that lame ass interview?

Poppy Chulo

In Delaware, the largest growth in population is Indian-Americans moving from India. You cannot go to a 7-11 or a Dunkin Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent. I'm not joking.

Riley Ken

To Noah’s point at the end, when watching the doc there was one of those scenes where names and stuff are being connected with lines. During the BCCI part one of the lines connected to a guy named Cartayna. I remembered from research he was close friends with the Cuba exile fellas running ops for the CIA. Seeing something like that, I think the reality is that as people get more settled in positions of power they are simply more likely to carry out rackets and sometimes these are actually part of a broader operation, but once it’s wound up the individual still reaps rewards of having been, e.g., on the board at BCCI or whatever.

AbeLinkin

When is Poppy Part 42?

Olivia Kali

It makes a lot more sense if you watch the documentary first imo

Poppy Chulo

If you need more than 10 rounds to hunt, and some argue they hunt with that many rounds, you shouldn't be hunting. If you can't get the deer in 3 shots, you shouldn't be hunting. You are an embarrassment.

HuffingGasInTheShed

I’m gonna whine. I had the flu all last week, and it the week before that was the most difficult I’ve had in years. I just wanted my damn shows, today I feel better but Trillbillies already beat you to this one

Adam

A bonus in the hand is worth two with George Bush

Terry Buckley

It's kinda funny how both Will and the TA hosts call this a murder when the documentary itself basically concludes that he probably killed himself due to not being able to actually find anything conclusive about the conspiracy he was banking on to sell his book and get himself out of impending crushing debt

Gubriel

Dog you're posting incomprehensible comments in a patreon thread, you simply must turn off the podcasts and go listen to some birdsong or something

.

You’re leaving out crucial details but ok

Oscar G.

That's not at all what the doc concludes, in it Chris literally says he believes it's very possible Danny was killed. What are you on about?

Terry Buckley

It goes from "this guy was murdered by the deep state cos he knew too much" in ep1 to "idk maybe? But also he was in a shit load of debt and had drank deep from the Riconosciuto kool aid" by the end. They didn't uncover anything revelatory over the shows run either, there's a distinct tone shift in the last 3rd of the series where they know they basically have nothing new and they realise the guy that was feeding Casolaro the bulk of the octopus narrative was a giant kook that had some tenuous ties to some admittedly spooky people

Blank

Will’s comparison with Killers of the Flower Moon is spot on/something that occurred to me too especially re: the Frank Alvarez murder

M

Love Noah just talking over the guys who made the movie.

There are a couple of really annoying things about this interview and Netflix documentary series . They start off pretending that they are the first people to look into the octopus story, when several books have been written about the subject. It’s also pretty annoying that their way into the story is to make it about the filmmakers themselves and their “obsession “. Thats just lazy. The Errol Morris style re-creations are pretty badly done. one of the most embarrassing examples of this are the stupid bowling alley B roll shots at the end. And finally, it would appear that the trashing of hamilton, the guy who invented promis software, seems to be motivated by the fact that he wouldn’t go in front of the camera camera for this documentary. I was let down. There’s a much better discussion of this in the Ghost Stories For The End Of The World podcast. This is some Hardy boys bullshit.

g$

is this the new episode ? :/

g$

also where’s the movie mindset oscar special ? 🥺🥺🥺

Ant koz

It has been a year or so since I turned my liberal father onto chapo.. his interest has ebbed and flowed, mostly he’s listened to clips I’ve sent him. He enjoys the interviews, but being almost seventy, he struggles with understanding the millennial slang and inside jokes… the chapo dialect is tough for him. Then he found hell of presidents and loved it. He finished the octopus doc last night and texted to let me that he would call to discuss today…. Only to text me again at 10 am to inform me that he just listened to this, the new chapo trap house, with his coffee. I’m like a proud father. My dad beat me to the new chapo. There may be hope after all, but probably not

ZeeBee

I hope Noah writes more conspiracy blogs on Defector. Some people in the comments were so upset about that one lol

drizzly_november

I’m fully JFK-pilled but that piece was so disorganized and rambling it does the research a disservice.

ZeeBee

Yeah that's fair. I found the few boomers who were staunchly defending the Warren Commission pretty hilarious though.

drewb

Wow! President Biden, welcome to the comments section

Munir hakim

Hell yeah dude. Thanks boys

Trey Michal

love it when the schizo voices in my head decide to collaborate keep it up boys👍

William

I’m getting tired of hearing from these guys - I’m sure they did a great job

Poppy Chulo

Those are inspirational quotes from your president, "dog"

M

He's insufferable lol

Turlough Kelly

The Castolaro case is the real leftist Qanon, because, regardless of its ins and outs, the fun lies in chucking around Italian names and three-letter acronyms with the guys. This is like my 10th hour of Octopus-related podcast content, and I am not one bit wiser as to what it's all about or why it's important. Excited to see the Netflix doc!

Jaime Christley

yo I'm tryina get top at the wackin' hut

D

10 rounds quote is right though. 3-5 round mag is all you need. Carry extra mags if you think you are going to be shooting running shots offhand. If you need more, go to the range instead of the field.

Agent Grange

"A way of taking simple electric energy to create a projectile that is damaging" is a pretty hilarious way to describe a railgun when I'm pretty sure 90% of the audience has played Armored Core 6 or, at the very least, know the MAC gun from Halo.

Doug Greer

I'm disappointed at the complete lack of references to Cthulhu... Netflix's Yellow King journalists never mentioned how similar an octopus looks to Cthulhu... Or, is all that just beneath your comedy stylings...? ;-)

John

Yeh its fucking massive story. Ghost stories podcast also does a good series on it.

J.L. Vaughn

Netflix publicists paid off the leftist podcasts

Chairman Corn

I believe you are in part mixing this guy with Gary Webb.

T

I thought Will was joking about Canada asking the US for help to translate Promis into French. Amazing!

Jimmy McMillan

Yeah this has to be paid programming. They've popped up on 2 other podcasts I listen to. At least Chappo maid this a bonus

Jimmy McMillan

Have to admire you bitching so hard that you got Chappo to respond in the comments

Jack Sweeney

Really wish Will had made it to episode 3 so that he’d have seen Robert Booth Nichols appearing in Segal’s Under Siege. Almost feels too perfectly tailored for Chapo

Matt Breuer

Same, what’s annoying is the documentary is… honestly much easier to comprehend.

Arielle Curtin

Was a major Spy Mag fan back in the day.

T

I'm on episode 3 and Robert Altman just appeared on the Pepe Silva string board. It's like this whole show came from Will's brain.

Poppy Chulo

His twitter account is even worse.

Salt M. Bank

Idk why people are whining these guys were on both chapo and TA, I wouldn’t have heard of the series if not and on both shows they drop some pretty crazy stuff that didn’t make it into the doc. Dug it, thanks boys.

Max N

Just watched. These guys hang out information, in a limited way, then discredit it by saying “everyone in this story is insane”. In conversation, they appear incoherent, to the point of parody. Why would CTH have them on. Unless…?

Christopher Price

yeah, you have to watch the doc and then listen to the EPS. TA straight up said that we're getting into the deep lore stuff that wouldn't make sense without watching it.

Jason Matthews

RFK Jr's advocacy work in native communities has the stink of Cabazon about it. As a native person, this seeding of aboriginal activism by parapolitical actors is very troubling to me.

John

Yep. Having a face to the names also making it easier to follow. Riconoscuito looks and acts like a complete tosspot i wouldn’t believe a word out of his mouth.

JediDavion

Louisvillians, represent!
