Curious how I made "the ruins" map? In this series, I walk you through the entire process from a blank Dungeondraft canvas to a full 3d battlemap of Caerlaverock using Foundry VTT.

Advanced Dungeondraft Tutorial: 3d Castle Ruins - Part 1

In this series, we recreate the ruins of Caerlaverock as a 3-dimensional battlemap starting in Dungeondraft and then porting it into Foundry VTT for use with Ripper's 3D Canvas and Levels modules. Check out this 3-dimensional model of the castle that we use as a basis for our design https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/caerlaverock-castle-4a21aeea4daf4317aeb13a2fff7dad7f To get this Dungeondraft map now, go here Featured Links: Forgotten Adventures Assets https://www.patreon.com/forgottenadventures Better Roofs by Ripper https://foundryvtt.com/packages/betterroofs Levels by Ripper https://foundryvtt.com/packages/levels Wall Height by Erithtotl https://foundryvtt.com/packages/wall-height 3d Canvas by theRipper93 https://theripper93.com/

I live right by this castle! Not a Portuguese-inspired design (although it was unclear who came up with it first since Sir Maxwell copied the design of the nearby old castle whose architects we don't know), it was -and still is- unique (seriously, google 'triangular castles'. Caerlaverock seems to be the only one that comes up.) It was also genius because it was harder to seige and required less stone than a typical square design.

I love it! Thanks for giving a little more color to the funny looking triangle castle. 😁
