jt's tassel flip gets me every time but they definitely could have done a lot more with their graduation given they are our first gen graduates. also as far as seasons 8-12 we get a bunch of new characters as each season goes on, so the gaps are always filled in

the 8-12 cast is the cast i personally grew up with (literally watched s10-12 as it was premiering and s10 was the first season i watched) so i’m excited for him to meet them

same, I think one of the first episodes I ever saw of Degrassi was either from season 8 or 9 if it wasn't Degrassi: takes Manhattan but I truly think it was season 9 ( I remember the episode but I don't wanna spoil 😭). then with the shark in the water promo, season 10 was the first season I watched fully

I can’t wait for him to get to s10-12. Those are some of my personal favorites of the show

The later seasons are what I'm used to

I think this episode is iconic solely for the last of the OG cast graduating. The main storyline was not it at all and the writers were trying to trick us into thinking Liberty and Emma were friends this whole time. I genuinely think the last time those two had a friendly conversation was in S2. After the Chris thing in S4, I don’t think those two have interacted much at all. Overall, I enjoyed this season a lot more than from what I remembered. I think outside of this episode and the Ellie/Marco episode, all the other episodes were good to great.

can’t wait for the later seasons

yes i agree the cheating/liberty storyline was unnecessary. and completely out of character for liberty. the last few minutes were the best part of the episode. they should've leaned into the graduation/honoring JT thing more for the entire episode and not just the last few moments. i only watched up until season 9 in my original viewing of this show. couldn't get used to the new characters that came on after the original crew left. so if you choose to keep watching past that point, i'll be watching those seasons for the first time with you. curious if they'll deliver like the original TNG cast did.

omg pls dont give up, season 8 is such an upgrade. I promise. And then that cast gets so many good storylines in later seasons, like it only goes up from here.
