January - Tooth crown #1, 2/3 paid for by insurance, about $400 out of pocket.

April - Income tax, owed $4100.

May - Crown #2. Dental insurance maxed out for the year. $900 out of pocket.

Late May - Tooth infection, leading to crown #3. $1700 out of pocket.

Late May - Bedbug infestation. $1200 and a lot of faffing around working around exterminators.

June - Car's starter finally fails. Replacement starter turns out to be defective, forcing me to have it done over again. $900 and still trying to get a refund on the first starter.

Late June - A/C in van dies. $2400. Parts not available until after this weekend's trip to San Antonio, which is not renowned for its cool and comfortable July climate.

Today - Front steps break. At least $500 to replace, maybe more.

All of this on top of conventions and other parts of my business.

This is why I'm behind on a lot of projects right now.

Well, I was going to make a joke about your job in a cereal factory, but perhaps this isn't the time...

That's awful! I hope that you manage to take care of yourself anyway. Best wishes.
