Under the Sea! (Izel Asset Dump) (Patreon)
Content
Hello! Today's release fulfills a patron request... 🐟 and a lot more!
Today I'm sharing all of the assets from Izel's Observatory, a short game that I made years ago as part of a month-long jam/contest.
It's a decent little game (even though the end was rushed for the deadline...), and one that I've always wanted to revisit: I have a big design document somewhere for an imagined full-version of the game: a huge metroidvania that makes use of the underwater theme for survival elements with cooking and crafting and potion-making. There was even some base-building planned, with the idea that you were building up the technology in the Observatory.
Of course, that's way too big of a project to take on now... (maybe I'll incorporate some of those ideas into something else someday...)
Anyways...
The point is this: multiple patron requests pointed me in this direction (underwater environmental assets + a specific request for these eels), so I started digging around in the folders. At first I was going to sort out anything that might be useful... but then I realized that any of it could be useful to somebody, in some way- who am I to say?
So I went ahead and zipped up the entire folder, including the hero sprites, monsters, tilesets, animated environmental pieces, and some other miscellaneous animations including collectibles and effects.
Therefore this is a big general asset dump, without any specific formatting or arrangement, so it has a bunch of stuff you can edit or splice into however works best for your project. You're welcome to make use of anything here, and I hope you have some fun exploring these files.
Note: There's stuff here that has been compiled and remastered elsewhere, like some of the coral tiles became a base for other underwater sets I've shared. It even includes a few of the original monster sprites that I recently recycled for GA!
You can get the whole folder of files here:

Reminder: If your browser doesn't want to download the .zip, copypaste the URL directly into the address bar.
That's it for today! I hope these are useful for you and can help with your projects, or at least bring you some inspiration and creativity. 🐠
I'll be back later in the week with something new. See you then.
Thanks for everything!
