Every actor and actress who worked in the 1970s worships this film and praises its realism and accuracy.

If I were to rate this movie, it would be 5 out of 10. Some people believe the scene where Brad Pitt fights Bruce Lee was based on a real incident between Bruce Lee and a Judoka/stunt coordinator Gene Lebell on the set of "The Green Hornet" series but it never really happened. It's based on a real incident about John Wayne getting beat up by a stunt man on the set of one of his movies. Brad Pitt felt the original scene Quentin Tarantino wrote was disrespectful to Bruce Lee (Brad Pitt was friends with Brandon Lee and is currently friends with the Lee family) that he had Quentin Tarantino rewrite the the scene. My favorite scene of this movie is when Leonardo Dicaprio cry's in front of the little girl. I hope you watch more Quentin Tarantino films on this channel in the future

From Mary's commentary, I'm still trying to figure out if she knows about the notorious psycho Charles Manson, his cult of crazed psycho women and the murder of Sharon Tate when she was pregnant... here identified as "hippies". I don't think she knows about the most infamous mass murder in history. Quentin Tarantino known for his macabre fascination of glorifying violent bloodlust surely displays it in the climax (flame thrower) -- rewriting history where Manson's demonic knife-weilding killing spree is turned on its head. Only from the mind of Tarantino could this film exist. For me it was worth watching coming from L.A., having eaten at iconic Casa Vega in the valley and iconic Musso & Franks in Hollywood where, by the way, Leonard Nimoy has his Hollywood Blvd. star.

I've noticed a lot of people outside the United States aren't as familiar with Charles Manson. The reason I say this is because quite a few of the non American reactions I've seen of this movie usually miss the Charles Manson connection. Maybe Charles Manson is only mostly known in the US 🤷

Happy Hanukkah

And frankly, I'm not sure how many Americans still know of him today.

The only way Mary can possibly make amends for subjecting us to the "Bruce Lee" scene :-) is by reacting to: (i) Bruce Lee's kung-fu classic Enter the Dragon (1973), and/or (ii) the biopic Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story (1993).

Francisco

Lol, Mary reacting to both films would be awesome

marycherryofficial

Damn I didn’t know that these were based on real people and now I fear being bullied on YouTube comment section lol

Paul Rich

No one would ever bully you Mary. If they do they are trolls. You are beloved by all.

At the time, it was itnternational headlines, mainly because Sharon Tate was a semi-known actress and the location was Hollywood. I myself am a screenwriter and my 21st script has elicited interest precisely because it is steeped in Hollywood lore, a psychological drama-romance.

Paul Rich

Realism? If anything a farcical fantasy with historical facts thrown in the soup.

Mary I suggest Helter Skelter(2004) its a great flick based on the true story of the Manson Family. Also not sure if you caught it but Kevin Smith's daughter Harley Quinn Smith was one of the Manson girls in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. They are gonna make a sequel but Tarantino isn't directing.

GoldenGateBridge

Bruce, not Bruno. ⚰️ Not surprised the Tate murders, LaBianca murders, Manson and the “family” didn’t make the news outside the US

marycherryofficial

Maybe they did but I was not born and so it went over my head sadly. It certainly isn’t recurring news or memorialised here
