Good Morning Cult!

Today I share with you a short video on painting silver NMM for Sigvald. I was making the tutorial and thought I might as well separate the two colours and get you some content out faster!

I hope you enjoy it and it contain enough information in there for you. The gold video will have more tricks and tips for NMM in general.I I'll make the PDF as before to go along with both, so when I post the gold video I will share the PDF too.

As requested here are the colours for this and the remainder of the series:

Silver

Vallejo Model Colour Dark Sea Blue 70.898

VMC Blue Grey Pale 70.905 (any grey will do honestly)

The final highlight can be Vallejo Highlight Skin 74.006 or just add some orange to white. I found using GW Lugganath Orange or AK Pastel Orange addd to white gave an amazing result.

Gold

GW Rhinox hide

VMC English Uniform 70.921

VMC Japanese Unform 70.923 or Green Brown 70.879

AK Pastel Yellow or VMC Ice Yellow 70.858

VMC or AK Ivory

Base

GW Rhinox Hide

Scale 75 Gobi Brown

AK or VMC Deck Tan

GW Zandri Dust

I enjoyed this summary a lot! I found I got a better sense of each stage of painting with it separated into chunks, while I may lose that in the brush stroke-by-brush stroke style videos. Not that I prefer one or the other, they both have their good points.

I also appreciate the note about the little artistic reflections. I'm sometimes not sure what is meant to reflect reality and what is more a stylistic tradition for miniatures (e.g. edge highlights).

I just received my Sigvald so I am going to start him this week! I really struggle with silver so this has helped point me in the right direction

I've been working on some Marvel Crisis Protocol and been struggling with the NMM parts for Doc Oc. I realise now that I have too much shadow, which was making it look like shiny black rather than steel. It is my first go at NMM steel/silver so found the video really helpful. Had started to think I might not bother with doing Ultron as NMM, but think I'll stick with it now. Thanks.

Thanks Andy, very good. The point about having one logical point of reflection then the rest being anywhere is a pro tip! Cheers

maybe an odd question but what did you use to remove the paint from Sigvald? I really liked this tutorial and want to try this nmm on a really old mini
