The pink flamingo that wasn’t actually a flamingo leaned back and looked at Jake curiously. “You know, there are a few things that can truly shock me, but you have shown yourself to be capable of pulling it off.”

With those words, the Viper shotgunned two beers using his fangs, impressively not spilling a single drop on the couch. When he was done, he tossed both bottles over his shoulders, where they simply disappeared before Villy put on his game face. “Okay, hit me.”

“So, as you guessed, this experience-increased effect that affected the entire Order of the Malefic Viper indeed did come from the Spirit of Man skill I got after evolving,” Jake began, the Viper nodding along. “As per the description, it increases experience gain of all those deemed my kin, comrades in arms, allies, partners, or subordinates.”

Villy frowned a little as he nodded. “Alright, that is impressive. Usually, such a skill is far more limited, but it seemed to include... wait, it says it affects everyone deemed your kin... does that include all humans? It shouldn’t be able to, but neither should you be able to affect everyone part of the Order.”

Jake politely gave the Primordial time to consider the implications of what Jake had said. He couldn’t confirm that the skill actually affected all humans, but he suspected it did. Granted, the effect was definitely negligible, and someone like Valdemar helped all other humans far more simply by existing and radiating his Records throughout the multiverse. However, that shouldn’t downplay the significance of this, as just the mere fact that a newly evolved B-grade could affect an entire race was massive.

“I have already confirmed that this new Spirit of Man skill of yours has a higher impact on people based on how close you are to them, with someone like me getting affected the most. Duskleaf’s Chosen, too, as well as several other members in the Order you’ve formed relationships with,” the Viper ruminated out loud. “So if you do affect the entire human race, the effect will be incredibly small, likely even smaller than what the members of the Order received...”

After a few more seconds of thinking, the Malefic Viper shook his head and gave Jake a look. “Alright, I can definitely see you've got a Spirit of Man skill surpassing anything I’d heard of before. I’m aware they vary widely in power, but still, this seemed almost too good. I take it the skill also lets you pass down Records more easily? Fairly certain all Spirit of Man skills include that.”

“It does,” Jake confirmed. “And to clarify, it also increases my own experience gain.”

“I see,” the Viper nodded. “Under what circumstances?”

“All circumstances,” Jake shrugged. “However, it’s increased when doing profession-related activities or hunting, as well as amplified yet again if these things are done alongside other humans.”

The Viper frowned as he was once more in thought for a few moments. “It sounds like the skill you got is a fusion of several Spirit of Man skills I’ve heard about before.”

“It one-hundred percent is,” Jake nodded in confirmation.

“Well, I can definitely see why you prefaced this conversation with the skill being better than expected; just the implications of its existence are-“

“I’m not done,” Jake interrupted the snake god.

“I know it also gives stats, but-“

“That, too, but there’s more besides that,” Jake shook his head, unable to hide a smile. “Didn’t I already tell you this might be the most overpowered Spirit of Man skill in the history of the multiverse? Wouldn’t be worthy of that title if all it did was give a few stats and increase experience gain.”

“Alright, my interest suddenly improved drastically,” the Viper said, leaning forward. “Shoot.”

“My skill also increases resistance to all environmental effects, allowing me to adapt to new environments more easily.”

“All environmental effects? It doesn’t have-“ the Viper began as Jake kept talking.

“It also increases resistance to all types of damage experienced by any other entity with the Spirit of Man skill.”

“What do you mean that it-“

“Also, when I’m not wearing adequate equipment to get all the stats my soul can usually bear, this skill will automatically make up the difference, at the cost of an insignificant upkeep in stamina,” Jake continued. “So that’s about 50,000 stats right there, pretty much for free, and peace of mind from always having to get better equipment that gives stats.”

The Viper didn’t even say anything as Jake happily continued.

“Oh, and as you said, it gives stats. I reckon you know how it works: the skill gives a 10% bonus and extra stats per level, with it working partly retroactively. I, of course, also get this,” Jake said with a cheeky smile. “Though, of course, rather than being limited to a mere six stats from the two Spirit of Man skills picked, I just get it in all of them.”

Silence dominated the room for several seconds before Jake let out an exaggerated sigh.

“Unfortunately, I only got to pick a single Spirit of Man skill rather than two, as all my options were replaced with this one. I know how important you’ve said having more skills was in the past, and that one should be careful about merging several together unless absolutely certain that’s the best way forward, but as I said, there was sadly only one option.”

Villy just looked at Jake, who kept smiling.

“At least the one Spirit of Man skill I got was pretty decent,” Jake grinned. “Or does the Primordial disagree?”

The Viper remained silent for several more seconds, actually making Jake a bit nervous before the snake god spoke. “I assume warning you against liberally sharing details about this skill and your evolution in general isn’t necessary?”

“No,” Jake shook his head. “And I’m also fairly certain that others can’t even detect that I have a variant race evolution. Maybe due to Shroud of the Primordial, but-“

“It’s not due to that,” the Viper shook his head. “I also want to correct you. Others can detect it; however, it’s akin to the natural suppression of power that everyone usually feels anyway. Strong humans give off a different presence than weaker ones, so I wouldn’t be worried about anyone suspecting you have a variant evolution; they’ll more likely than not just assume your aura comes from you being at the top of your race. Something you admittedly are.”

“Those mirror my thoughts,” Jake said, as he couldn’t help but smile a bit again. “Any comments on the actual skill?”

Villy sighed, shaking his head. “You also did some research on common Spirit of Man skill variants, right? In that case, you should also have reached the same conclusion as I: that your skill is effectively a fusion of many Spirit of Man skills. How many, I can’t tell, but it must be a lot. It’s not all of them, though, but just a select few, perhaps the ones deemed beneficial for your Path. I could theorize far more, but I really don’t see the point. All I will do is reiterate that you should keep the existence of this skill under wraps, though you may be forced to reveal some of its aspects.”

Jake frowned at that. “What parts, and why?”

“Let me start by saying you should never volunteer any information unless absolutely necessary. The part about not needing stats from equipment is something you can freely share, but there’s no reason to say it comes from a race skill. Others may reach that conclusion on their own, but never confirm or outright deny anything. The same as true for all other parts of the skill except for one,” Villy said, looking sufficiently serious.

“The part about granting experience is something that affects others, and those who are capable of detecting it are also smart enough – or have smart enough people around them in Valdemar’s case – to put together that it’s from a Spirit of Man skill. To clarify that point, just as I detected my Order being affected by your skill, so do I suspect that both Valdemar and Aeon felt when you got the skill and affected all of humanity. The two of them included. On that note, I do believe all human gods likely felt it, though they’ll be unable to determine the source if they aren’t skilled in karmic concepts. Even then, they would have to pierce Shroud of the Primordial to track anything back to you, so they shouldn’t be a problem.”

“But some can pierce Shroud,” Jake frowned.

“Indeed,” Villy nodded. “As fellow humans, Aeon and Valdemar will definitely have realized the change from your new Spirit of Man skill, though I can’t say for certain they are able to pinpoint you specifically as the source. Even if they could, I doubt they’ll do anything about it or even see the need to bring it up. No, who I think matters far more is Eversmile.”

Jake was about to question whether he would have really noticed, as the skill definitely wouldn’t affect him, but considering it further, the bastard was the foremost master of karma in the multiverse. He had likely noticed the collective shift in all of humanity and effortlessly identified Jake as the source.

“As for whether he’ll act on it, I can’t tell,” the Viper shook his head. “Eversmile is unpredictable even at the best of times, and his curiosity borders on obsession. We already know he finds you an object of intrigue, and this certainly won’t help. When it comes to the question of whether he’ll take any overt actions, I fortunately believe the answer is no. So far, you’ve continued to be interesting all on your own, and he likely wants to avoid directly interfering and continue observing you from afar.”

“Not sure if I find that comforting to know,” Jake muttered. “But I do wonder... I’ve never really felt him observing me, outside of situations where we’ve been in the same space.”

“Because he knows you would be able to tell,” the Viper shook his head. “Rather than observe you directly, he instead keeps track of what happens in your wake. How you affect those around you. I also believe he can still easily see your karmic bonds without you being aware.”

“Yeah, definitely not comforting to know,” Jake sighed.

“I would warn you that should you suddenly start being far less interesting, there would be a risk of Eversmile actually taking action, but I doubt you’d know how to not be interesting even if you tried,” Villy said, joking a bit to lighten the mood.

“Hey, I can totally be boring if I want to,” Jake protested with a light smile, fully aware that his version of being boring would likely still be interesting to Eversmile. “Anyway, back on topic. Any other things I can’t hide?”

“No, only the experience and equipment thing,” Villy shook his head. “Everything else may as well come from class or profession skills, even if someone is able to identify that you have skills doing those things. Then again, even if whatever they did told them it all came from the same human racial skill, and you confirmed this to indeed be the case, no one would believe you; they’d doubt their own abilities, and call bullshit.”

Jake couldn’t help but smile at that comment. “Does that mean you agree with my assessment that this might just be the strongest Spirit of Man skill in history?”

“I’ve at least never heard of anything as ridiculous,” the Viper shook his head. “Usually, the system seems to have a sense of balance, but clearly that doesn’t include you. Rather than a human, you’re more like some weird Unique Lifeform, just also without all the usual issues Unique Lifeforms come with.”

“What can I say, I am indeed rather impressive,” Jake grinned shamelessly.

“And it all seems to stem from that Bloodline of yours,” Villy accurately pointed out. “It’s almost tempting to set you up with a few hundred wives and have you produce an army of elites. If you were part of pretty much any other faction, they would definitely have already tried doing that starting in C-grade.”

“Glad you didn’t waste everyone’s time with something silly like that,” Jake shrugged. “Anyhow, did you have any questions about my evolution, or is it my turn to start?”

“Hold your horses, I still have a few things I’d like illuminated,” the Viper held up a hand. “First of all...”

Over many additional beers, Villy continued asking Jake about details regarding his new evolutions and what he’d gained through them. Jake answered most questions, holding back information where he didn’t see the need to share, but overall, he was pretty open about most things.

Soon enough, it was finally Jake’s turn to ask some questions of his own. Most of them were just clarifying questions, and he did ask about Artemis, as he wanted to visit her to celebrate his evolution, but she was sadly busy and wouldn’t be available for at least the next couple of months.

Towards the end, Jake only had a few burning questions he really wanted the answer to. One of the most important ones, naturally, was related to the most important thing right now...

“How long are you supposed to cosplay as a pink flamingo-looking bird? And are you allowed not to wear it if some other gods come to visit, or should I find a way to invite a couple of Primordials?” Jake asked, trying to sound as serious as he possibly could.

“As a newly evolved B-grade, don’t you have anything better to do?” Villy sighed, ignoring Jake’s question entirely.

“Fine, keep your secrets,” Jake chuckled, also finishing his last bottle of beer. There were more bottles, but Jake feared he would actually get drunk if he had more. “As for plans... not sure, honestly. The next part of the Exalted Prima system event should start soonish, but there’s no set timeline, so all I can do is prepare, but I doubt I can do much that will have an impact outside of maybe working on upgrading a few skills or getting better equipment.”

“You go figure out what you need to do,” Villy waved him off. “But if you want my advice, then try to upgrade a skill or two. Oh, and spend some time meditating; that should help things progress more smoothly. I’m sure you’ve noticed your increased ability to detect and comprehend concepts that came from your evolution. Take advantage of that.”

“Alright,” Jake nodded. “Can you send me to my place?”

“Sure,” the Viper nodded. “And remember, no need to reveal anything if you don’t have to. Not even to someone like Artemis.”

“I won’t share needlessly,” Jake answered, looking a bit more serious. “But I’ll decide when it’s needed.”

“It’s your life,” Villy shrugged. “Now go have fun, and see you soon enough. We will need to have a little strategy meeting regarding the Seat of the Exalted Prima system event.”

Jake was only halfway through a nod as space magic enveloped Jake’s body, and a moment later, he found himself sitting on the couch back in his own residence, empty beer bottle still in hand.

After taking a moment to orient himself, Jake chuckled and stood up. He stretched and cracked his neck before sitting down again as he considered what he wanted to do now.

--

Vilas sat alone after Jake’s departure, and the moment he had sent his Chosen away, the snake god manifested a thought, making the stupid costume he’d been wearing become undone.

With that, one bet had been paid, and Duskleaf should get off his ass.

As for his recent talk with Jake... Vilas had to admit he’d underestimated Jake this time around. That Spirit of Man surpassed anything the Primordial had even imagined, and it truly entered the territory of being overpowered. It was the kind of race skill that shouldn’t even be possible, yet here they were.

What’s more, Jake clearly still didn’t see just how ludicrous it was. While they downplayed its current effects a lot and reiterated how it didn’t really have any noticeable impact on anyone besides the people closest to Jake... that was here and now.

But what would happen when Jake reached A-grade? S-grade? Godhood? With every step he grew in power, this skill would grow with him, its effect amplifying on everyone it affected, gods and mortals alike.

People like Valdemar already had profound impacts on the human race due to their power, but neither had a skill like this that positively affected their entire race. Their influence was almost entirely due to their Records passively affecting the rest of their race.

If Jake reached their level of power with this kind of skill... also, what would happen if more skills like this existed at the same time? If Jake’s offspring also shared his variant human evolution, would they get the same Spirit of Man skill? Would they stack together? Perhaps simply amplify each other slightly, ultimately still creating a far stronger effect?

There were so many implications to consider, and honestly?

Vilas was here for it. He was looking forward to seeing what kind of chaos Jake’s ludicrous existence could bring to the multiverse, and was more than happy he had front row seats.

Thanks for the chapter

Vash

Did villy just shotgun bottles of beer? Holy shit.

Malo Thomas

I just had a theory that the task for Jake to get into godhood will be to kill the maleficent viper aka Villy...

Misa

Tftc

Gavin Smith

It’ll probably be kill a primordial but probably not Villy

definitelynotbrjenness

Wait a minute...how do you shotgun a bottle? Is not that when you poke a hole then pop the cap?

Sweet Serials

Nah. It'll be to hunt the primordial no one knows exists, beyond the horizon.

definitelynotbrjenness

Right after I typed I thought...villy's teeth would have no trouble penetrative glass

mitchell kaiser

Great chapter and thanks for the contemplation moment for Villy, it’s great seeing inside his head every once in awhile.

Phoenixdrop

Oh boy our evil snake god is eagerly awaiting the rise of humanity as the new rulers of the multiverse after Jake starts having kids and honestly I’m also absolutely here for it

NicN

Tftc

Phoenixdrop

Do you really think he would have any trouble at all putting his fangs through probably super glass because no way anything normal can hold alcohol that Villy actually drinks while simultaneously making it so it doesn’t shatter because honestly I didn’t even think it was weird seeing what we know about him

Unwillingmainer

Villy's favorite streamer just got a whole lot more intersting. I too can not wait to see what chaos Jake causes in B grade.

ZanSanCho

Tftc Zog! Just in time to read it before bed too this time! Super excited to inevitably see other people's reactions to Jake's bullshit in the future 🤣

Numbzy

You rotate it so it creates a whirlpool inside the bottle letting it flow much more quickly. It also will foam up like crazy.

mucky 12

His fangs must be pretty sharp! Which makes sense considering hes a primordial and all lol

Richard Rader

I’ve had the same worry for a while now. It would tie in full circle with Villy having to kill the First Sage…

Rayman1203

My thoughts exactly. But Villy is an all powerfull God. If he does not want the bottle to shatter he probably can shotgun a bottle. Just poke a hole and open the bottle

scarredrazor

That is absolutely not going to happen... Don't you remember Yip? He was way above godking, and yet the viper fucking spanked him. How do you expect an S-grade to kill someone like that?

Rahsheem Reid

It would be interesting if he had to hunt at his future evolutions to prove he is at the apex and when he eventually gets to godhood he has to pick a primordial to hunt.

Kt-x

I love the Villy chapters! 😁 Thanks for the chapter!

Arrogant Savant

Been making comments in discord about how other factions or even individuals wouldn't respect Jake's autonomy and pressure him to be a breeding bull. Glad that was addressed, of the potential blessings Jake could've gotten I do wonder if Valdemar would've caved (likely to his wife asking him to), Umbra might have simply from outside pressure.

taylor ritchie

The one that wants Jake and is sending people to kidnap him

Zizawah

This is not a grim dark story and would be terribly unlikely of Jake or Villy to even get into a spat.

atome 4 000

He can take ownership of the milkyway's seat of the exalted prima now that he is in B Grade. He should do that.

Silver Dawn

Even Killing a Godking or Godqueen would be a ridiculous task.

Ben Cox

Tyftc, love seeing Jake get to cut off the Villy with more ridiculous nonsense as he walks through the grades.

Jason Hu

I don't know if this has been mentioned but the flamingo 🦩 suit was done on Boston legal years ago with William shanter and the guy who played Ultron.

J

Haha yesssss I few chapters back I was saying there might be a hidden primordial

Sol

Why was the chat with villy so short it's my favourite bit of well strategy meetings gonna be fun at least

zran

i doubt that will be the case, besides, unless something changes on their relationship, jake will be unwilling to kill the viper, yeah he whants to fight him, but that does not automatically translate to killing, at best if one of his quest objetives is related to him will be akin to "get praised by the malefic viper(villy) during a spar against him"

Cinaeda

love seeing gods baffled, and amused. thank you for that one, I was hoping for some good Villy talk :) the pink flamingo was a great add, have to say. I hope someone does a fan-art of that. this needs to be recorded for posterity :D

djthomp

Confirmation that kin probably includes all humans, I know we discussed that in the comments previously. The scaling to godhood and beyond question though, not something I had considered.

David

Jake's family is out travelling the multiverse right? If there's ever a chance for them to meet Artemis it's probably around this time (do they even know jake has a gf now? lol)

definitelynotbrjenness

Oh GAAAWWWD, aNoThEr FiLlEr ChApTeR!!!! Nobody cares what some minor snake god who is barely relevant to the story thinks about Jake's new skill. And nobody is interested in clarifications or expanded details about what the op skill does. I could go on, but I have to reread the chapter to ensure that in three months when we are arguing, I can say, "Well ackschually...in chap 1281 it was specifically stated..."

Kirivina

I read it as he just put a bottle to each fang and the fangs drained it for him.

Fyrtue

Aww. I was hoping his family had randomly stopped by the order for a visit and would get to meet the girlfriend. Villy brought up some interesting points there at the end though. That's a problem for future Jake to worry about.

Fdrugc

If Jake lives long enough humanity will become op

Jennifer Leigh

Maybe killing a god. Remember, just fighting one as a S-grade gets you a title. Even Yip didn't go on his killing spree until after he also became a god.

Rick Delallata

Dude, I'm not sure how to express how much I love Villy. He's such a fun and interesting character and everything from his POV is fantastic

Fyrtue

Should have Vespy and the ectognamorphs joining for that bit too.

Loststar7

Couldn’t have said it better myself.

Eden

Im more cutious if yggdrasil noticed the effects/effected them since they are considered an ally.

Loststar7

Thanks for the chapter and happy Monday everyone.

Zizawah

Rise of Jake’s allies and friends first though. So if beasts are in Jake’s faction they get the bump. Humans in Jake’s camp can benefit more?

DeAndrea H

Squeee! I’m super excited about the Seat of the Exalted Prima event. Although going by past history, it’s probably 2-3 books away. But at least Jake is in the needed grade now! I love the hint of future conflict with Eversmile although at this point I can’t even wrap my head around what that might look like. And I love the Viper being like “look at this freak of nature I managed to luck into grabbing first.” Villy is here for the chaos!

Fyrtue

Jake must develop this technique for his next FotMV upgrade.

Sol

About time too think it's gonna be bigger than we think all his friends in different factions know it would be a better idea to team up with him... And just a thought say Jake gets the exalted seat in the end with his new skill would that make everyone in that universe his subordinate?

Benjamin Davis-Lorton

If you're paying ten dollars to bitch and moan, maybe reconsider the expenditure.

Chelsa Roberts

The chat was faster than I expected thankfully. I was expecting 3 chapters rehashing the 3 evolutions with Villy's thoughts on them.

David

I have to respectfully disagree. I think I can safely say that the very large majority of us have been WAITING to hear what Villy had to say about his skill

Catrina

One skill that definitely should be upgraded is one step as his new sense of space pertains to this teleporting skill and his recent experimenting with wings to go farther signifies this further

Burkholt

It was a good chapter now I'm ready for some side character's progressions. 😋

Sol

I dunno I love the small talk with villy and when they have their back and forwards more fun when other gods or people are present you can imagine a serious meeting with villy and Jake everyone else being serious about it but those two.... Drinking games, stupid bets and showboating between eachother like best buds 😂 I want an arc where they say sod it lets go on vacation and go on tour terrorising several universes for fun

ChRiAn

Identify is seriously overdue an upgrade or three.

Staudi

Tyftc

Episode 19

Kinda feel bad for Villy, bro has to deal with a human who doesnt truly even understand their OPness anyways tyftc

Nate

Wait... Did Villy just shotgun two bottles of beer? Shotgunning a beer in American slang means to pierce the outside of a can and then pop open the tab and drain it in one shot through the hole, so in my mind he just bit two glass bottles.

ChRiAn

We still have the soulflame talk with Duskleaf and Villy foreshadowed, maybe that will give us more banter.

dash w

Thanks for the chappy

ChRiAn

Nice update, always love to see VIlly. And wasn't Duskleaf said to be highly curious about the soulflame? So I hope we will get a visit from him and Villy this week.

RunnerRunner

Dina for sure. And I would say nature's attendant would most likely as well.

Fyrtue

I think (hope) that identify gets a big upgrade when used with his new Sight skill. Maybe even merging some insights from the First Sage's tome since he created the skill.

DcnReaper

I dont think people are getting the sarcasm

DeAndrea H

If he can consume planets, I doubt glass will upset his tummy. 😁

Daniel Hamilton

I’m curious when he’s going to give him that potion he made from yip of yore and what it will do for Jake

PatienceHoney

Because it said it was with his fangs, I imagined him piercing the top of the bottle (cap, cork, or whatever) and then downing them.

Eden

I mean, tbf even jakr commented on how redic it could potentially be when he gets to higher ranks. Just not thr gocus of his path so he didnt think of ramifications of such increases

Nate

That's fair. I think Jake used to eat potion bottles too, with the healing outweighing the glass cuts

David

😝😝😝

Rodney

Villy is going to be the best Uncle in the multiverse. If Jake is a spoiled chosen his kids are going to be even more spoiled. Lol

Shawn Shoulders

Man...Artemis must be really busy if she doesn't even have time for an avatar to come visit!

Phoenixdrop

Eh I mean not really if anyone understands how terrible it is to spoil your kids and leave them with under developed survival skills it’s definitely Jake and Villy and obviously Artemis is the mother so her too so if anything Jake might literally pretend he’s a mortal while raising his kids or something like that definitely not telling them exactly how important he is at the least and also there’s Jake’s fatherly instincts to think about honestly if his super instincts even work with that I think Jake might be the best father to ever live especially if his kid gets his bloodline like I would absolutely love to just have a entire book have a sub plot of Jake raising his kid after he’s a god heck I could read a entire book about that as a way to introduce how the blessing system of gods works on the god end of things because Jake is absolutely making his kid his chosen

Keion

Vampire shotgun lol I’m curious why villy didn’t give Jake the records from yip yore yet I get he still has the core in there but that wasn’t brought up … do you think the influx of records from evolution helped it along ? All in all good chapter

Keion

lol I definitely thought the chapter was heading in the human take over department

Josie

danger noodle might have gotten inspiration from Jake's favorite statue lol 🐍

Vex

If im not mistaken it wasn't a potion, just a chunk of transmuted yip, and as for when? I couldn't see him actually getting it till godhood, S-grade at the earliest. That is unless the viper massively toned down its innate potency.

Almer Reyhan

Ahhhhh. Finally, I got my dose of primal hunters drugs.

ExternalChaos

What’s glass to a god? Good as wet paper I’d say

C0bra$

Thank u for the story

Sylphie

So happy villy is a good guy

KenTX325

He should also flex on the dragon whose name starts with an A and show off some.

ChRiAn

With the unintentional (hilarious) side effect of Jake flexing his shiny new Dragonslayer title to the dragonflight that annoyed him first :)

KenTX325

That would be great. Miranda, Mira, and others could get involved . Oh yeah, also bring over Irin.

definitelynotbrjenness

villy, head leaned back with two corks stuck on his incisors drinking two beers at once.

Nano

Villy said it would be dangerous so he wants to be able to monitor Jake when he uses it so it’s gonna have to be a time where there isn’t anything serious going on

ABTelford

Loved the chapter! Thx

Josie

I guess we won't be getting our little bundle of celestial dragon joy before the Exalted Prima event Without that.. Jake, please shut yourself in a time room with Duskleaf to get your soulflame battle ready. And then stay to mediate until Villy drags you out 🙏

Keion

lol like now?

Steven Tuttle

what a great bucking Monday chapter thanks zogarth if we thought Jake was a monster in c grade its going to be insane in b grade.

definitelynotbrjenness

I got the impression it would be dangerous for a weak new god to absorb.

Josie

Way back when Jake was given the option to change his race, his Bloodline got really offended and I wonder why his Bloodline cares that he stays human. It can mutate any race to make him the new apex of that race, so why not? I'm thinking about it now bc when Jake does decide to have biological kids, will his Bloodline supercede the mother's genes and always make his kids human? 👶

DeAndrea H

Well, Villy is significantly stronger than Artemis. Maybe she has fewer avatars available? Or maybe she’s afraid of him feeling smothered. Or maybe it’s just Zog making an excuse for why he’s not making Jake’s girlfriend a central character yet. The world may never know…

John Durrett

Everyone is a dick to someone and a friend to others. Primordial s are no exception.

John Durrett

Didn't you know? Villy telling Jake he was going to give him records from Yip of Yore was just a Story he Told Jake. :P

Hornbach

By this point I find it very hard to believe that his parents won't be able to reach C grade. With all those records from Jake and now this.

John Durrett

Awe, thats just a "Story" he told Jake. Universes greatest prank from Primordial Friend. :P

Jip

I had the same thought. I was also curious as to if jake even could have kids with a non-human that would carry his, or a version of his bloodline. What i mean is, if the kid was to be born with the BL, would its race be superseded and be born human, or would any kid born to artemis (or any other non-human) not be compatible with getting the BL. Furthermore, could the BL end up being detrimental to a non-full human or would it mutate to be like “actually nah, half elf where its at bruh”.

Niels

My theory is that Jake's variant human race is actually about being the origin of humanity, and since his primal energy is all due to his bloodline. I can imagine his bloodline is all about the origin of humanity and therefore quite offended when he was going through the options of possible evolving to something not human.

John Durrett

I see a possibility of Kin being whomever Jake and his bloodline considers family - which would include his jumbo juice creations.

Bruno Daxo

Theorizing what Jake will do in the near future: Introduce his girlfriend to his parents // Visit Valhalla to train and leave the runic maiden slightly sad // Get tricked by his evil friend into going to the mushroom-filled wonderland // Exalted Prima event // Visit the Altmar Empire // Create a super cute and frighteningly unique baby dragon with Jake's juice and the remains of Elhakan // Go to Nevermore Grade B (here I expect a time skip, Nevermore takes too long, a summary of some cool events would be enough)....Did I forget anything?

tigerfishie

She could be doing something that requires enough of her to be present that having an avatar would be detrimental to what she’s trying to do.

Siethrobo

Jake already forgot about his soulflame to show duskleaf

tigerfishie

TYFTC, Loved the visuals in this one. It’s supposed to be my first day back at class today but I somehow missed 10 alarms so this kinda makes up for it.

patrick__starz

I think it is more so Jake and Artemis don't like seeing each other unless it is in their physical bodies because there is a slight disconnect there, same with when she was pushing for godhood

Josie

Now that he's back at his residence, I hope Duskleaf ambushes him lol

JonO

Maybe his bloodline origin is humanoid? So by godhood he'll be the god of all humanoids thus putting him atop even the primordials....or something to that effect. He's above everything, technically

KyoDaDungeon!!

Villy really not gonna tell Jake he got him on dvr and stream delay

Daniel

I really like the idea that one person can bring humanity as a whole up a grade. Sounds fun to explore.

Crack theory: Jakes bloodline is actually a unique life form piloting a human body

Perren D'Wolff

Pretty sure Jake knows . Also Villy normally watches live, he only stream delay when having a watch party.

Soulessone

Okay hear me out. We know a few things, there is an unknown faction out there working in the shadows. Secondly, the system always works in balance. And now we know the system is way out of balance for Jake.... but what if it isn't. What if the system is balancing by making Jake over powered. Maybe there is another race out there with this unknown faction that is getting incredibly strong and the system is balancing itself out by having Jake impact the entire human race 🤷‍♂️

Josie

Yeah and I don't think Eternal Shadow has gotten an upgrade since he made it in D grade

Josie

lowkey never forgot about that Duskleaf bet and I'm so happy it finally happened.. I also remember at an even more minor, subdecibel level, that the bet included photos.. it'd be bad karma to leave that obligation unfulfilled, you know? 🤭 it's just one of those vague passing thoughts I had that Jake still has at least 1 pic that needs collecting.. Praise the Malefic One 🦩

James Davis

Id imagine that whatever race the person with the BL is born as is seen as the best. Like if jake were born an elf he'd be the bestest elf, or the bestest dragon, that kinda thing. So if he has a kid with Artemis and they inherit the BL then they would believe they'd be the best half-elf and maybe have a race measuring contest with Jake when they reach a certain threshold of power

S_Ally

Or the system is empowering this faction to be the check on Jake's overpowered existence, lol. Either way, it'll be an interesting showdown when Jake comes face-to-face with them again.

Rewdan

My new job is getting in the way of my reading time 😏

Rewdan

Awesome start to the week thanks Zogarth

Rewdan

I wonder how long Jake is going to spend in Nevermore. 🧐

Rewdan

I’d like at least 1 book all about Jake and friends in Nevermore

ChRiAn

Jake also has his garden in Nevermore that should have some nice stuff by now

Bjarne Hansen

Did you miss, that his scale version didn't have a bloodline? If he choice that option, he would sacrifice his bloodline.

Thebadtank

I think there is a typo. "People like Valdemar already had profound impacts on the human race due to their power, but neither had a skill like this that positively affected their entire race." Should be "People like Valdemar and* Aoen* already had profound impacts on the human race due to their power, but neither had a skill like this that positively affected their entire race."

Morazain

So nice to have a mentor and buddy to just want to sit back and watch the whole world burn. But only if it becomes that "naturally".

Carl Never

I freaking forgot its monday!!! Voodoo of the cliff

TFTC :) Welcome back everyone :) Suggested edits: No notes.

Go crazy with primal origin abilities. Make a super vampire, upgrade Lyra in Casper’s locket. Become system administrator of a world wonder. Travel multiverse. Bring Artimas to a demon wedding. Figure out concepts and use elixir made from Yip.

Carl Never

Great chapter cant wait to see him use his new toys and still looking forward to a family reunion

My lack of job makes me forget what day it is stupid snow

Oh i totally didnt know why he was dressed up haha thats great

Or the system is about to step into a new age of power allowing people to once again reach the pinnacle like the Primordials and is using someone with the ability to use an energy that can effect any race

Ty Cooper

Tftc Love this series

Asher Mack

Artemis like just evolved into godqueen, I'm sure she has a lot on her plate and is still trying to cement her new power and adjust to the sudden influx of records.

Asher Mack

Gah im so impatient we just got to B grade and I already find myself super curious as to what nutty upgrades were gonna see with the evolution to A and S grade. Maybe I'll just screw off for 5 years and come back to binge all the way up to then.

blucube 14

Thanks for the chapter!

Josh Kubo

TFTC all caught up now. Notes: echoes from book 9 that I was re-reading just before this. When he evolved to C grade. Only now seriously overpowered. I’m totally good with that. I am kinda sad that I’ll have to wait so long before the audio catches up to the released books. Something to look forward to. Update: I just finished book 9 and it was of course Jake at the chosen party and the last little bit was about the United Tribes getting in on wanting some Jake juice. Then sending people to earth . Must’ve missed where the United Tribes and Jake or the order were not on friendly terms? For Louise to worry? Wait, were they on the side of that other Chosen? I forget all who were, but since most of the other orders were kinda in on the joke, I thought only the Holy Church got in trouble. ?

Fyrtue

Now we get to see what the next sage chapters have.

Josie

I don't think his Bloodline can be removed from him? At the very beginning Villy said the Bloodline is the one thing that is truly his, it can't be removed The Malefic version of himself he saw in his soulspace didn't have his Bloodline bc it was a projection from Villy's blood. And when the System offered Malefic dragonkin at D grade, it did not say that his Bloodline would be taken away, just that he'd lose his current race skills (human)

Kristoffer

Hey Fyrtue, speaking of the first sage's tome... Didn't Jake finish the C grade post of it, as in, it's time to start on the B grade part.

Josie

Maybe I've spent too much time with Eversmile, but I want to know how Jake will handle the deaths of his parents. Grappling with mortality after losing his family will be a really important character moment for him He's previously said when visiting his parents that there are things he won't do bc he doesn't want his parents to hear about some terrible choice he made

Josie

And it'll be interesting to see how Villy responds too. I thought Villy was really sweet back in the tutorial when Jake found out everyone else was dead He basically hand-delivered both William and beer to Jake, which is an impressive level of empathy for an evil snake god, ya know?

Biggy smalls

Well we saw with Sim Jake that his bloodline with that version of Jake was fine with him changing his race. Same for the dragon Jake he fought during his poison bath way back when. So I don't think his bloodline would have a problem with that because his bloodline adapts to the individual. I do wonder if like you're saying if Jake's kids will always turn out human? Or just be considered a human variant?

Brian Thompson

I think this could hold some merit. The race Villy team up with in Jales last visión cones to mind. Villa mentioned thst they were a bit OP from the start

D3monEmper0r

Well we need like 2-3 years for C grade, the time needed to process through grades can only be more not less so I highly doubt we get to A grade before 2030 and I don't even want to know when we see S grade and/or above, I mean we got C grade nevermore (the best arc in my opinion so far and way to short) and still got here so late. Even if every grade includes an nevermore arc which I doubt will be the case we would have to wait longer and longer with every grade

Jose Reyna

I think a void god would be so much better

Josie

I'm not sure allowing yourself to be eaten by a curse and having your Records consumed to power a Sin weapon can really be considered a successful race variant? Not sure if Shadow Jake is even able to agree or disagree with that assessment. But yeah basically I wonder if Jake's kids who get his Bloodline will all match Jake's brand of super human

Josie

Way back in the day there was a bet if Jake could precisely guess how long he'd spent in a time dilation room. Jake won the bet by bribing Duskleaf and all this time I've been quietly sitting here waiting for Duskleaf to collect 😌

J

I was thinking about the Nobility titles and how they have been neglected. Enough has happened I feel we should get a cheeky message from Miranda about her out ranking Jake by now lol. Or am I forgetting something?

J

To be honest, this is where I think Jake’s path might be leading him. The void gods are on power, if not more powerful than the primordial. And I think the more gods that are made the stronger they get as the void has the balance the Multiverse I haven’t read anywhere where it specifically states this I just feel like that’s a natural thing to happen. Jake becoming a primal void God would be absolutely frightening although I feel he might compete with Oras if that does end up happening.

Jason Connors

Last I remember Jake got Duke and Miranda became a Marquis. Seems like pretty specific things need to happen to have your nobility upgrade.

Jason Connors

I feel that I did audiobooks up to waiting for 13. I really want to hear Villy telling Jake he's absurdly stupid.

Jason Connors

I think a lot more time skips will happen in B grade because of how long it takes to progress. Just his profession in peak C-grade took years.

Zizawah

I don’t think Aeon has human boosting effects. He only affected time and clocks.

Peter Smith

So with the events so far with the seat of the exalted prima. The separate events seem to each connect with the different asepcts of being a ruler. First was strength. You had to earn the right to rule, whether or not you were a ruler didn't matter. Second was defending your lands from external threats. If we were to follow it with the steps of nobility, it would be equal to: soldier, then knight, so the next step needs to move past pure strength to earning acknowledgement from those outside your lands or also known as lordship. So i could see each galaxy gaining a central dungeon that uses reputation as a currency, a Karmic currency where it doesn't remove the prices for what can be earned within it, but would give ranging discounts based upon their actions.

Peter Smith

Also, i am more and more certain that Jakes bloodline is connected to the Seat of the Exalted Prima, and that the system is currently giving him the right to earn that place. Especially since it is becoming more and more clear that the tirle is "Exalted" not "Prima" which makes this the seat of the "First Exalted"

Josie

"those who are capable of detecting it are also smart enough – or have smart enough people around them in Valdemar’s case –" Villy throwing shade before their rematch and Valdemar's not even here 😭

ABTelford

Why doesn’t Jake just read the thing to Villy? That way he’ll get much more accurate feedback.

DeAndrea H

Valdemar catching strays across the multiverse!

DeAndrea H

I look forward to Jake being a system recognized King and most of the multiverse not even knowing it bc Jake never talks about it.

DeAndrea H

I’m on tenterhooks waiting for book 14. That is going to be my most played of the series.

DeAndrea H

I’m curious just bc Jake hasn’t lost anybody in over 16 books. And I actually don’t want it to be “so and so got murdered so Jake is on a rampage.” We’ve seen Jake respond to the death of people he cared about by curb stomping William in the tutorial. I’m curious how he would process someone simply dying of natural causes in a world where immortality is possible.

Rahsheem Reid

This makes a lot of sense like a world wonder created to interact somehow with his bloodline.

Blutako writes whatever ie Tako in the Outerworlds

Yes, and since they were powerful, they were the main kind of enemy in that era. Or one of the main enemies, and now the system is bringing back the primordials, bringing the most overpowered existence, known to the system. Aka, the first sage, and is bringing in someone who can bring the most powerful records from the past to the present. And bring all that potential growth. So that they can grow and do whatever the system wanted to get done or whyever the system was created Maybe. Or maybe just more growth for everyone. Minaga was limited because it was unlimited growth for 1 being, the automata or whatever, we're limited because it was yeah, overpowered growth for 1 race, jake, no matter how selfish or stupid. He is, it's just plowing through.Bringing records to everyone so that he could continuously fight stronger and stronger opponents, what if the system restraints aren't being placed by the system? Itself, or what? If all of the potential growth characters are being made by, say the void gods to fight the system, or maybe the system. And the void gods are working together to fight something that is placing restraints, who knows? at this point It's just a million and one. What if

That one, right there.

He was looking forward to a wild evolution weekend with his girlfriend.

Josie

I could see the system cooking up a special event just for this freakish Bloodline. Also, I hope William can join the event this time

I love leaving and reading comments because you just know and later you see little tidbits that resemble really old comments. Post your ideas, you never know if you'll inspire zogarth or not.

Darral Cate

People like Valdemar already had profound impacts on the human race due to their power, but neither had a skill like this that positively affected their entire race. Should be Valdemar and Aeon

Fyrtue

I don't think Villy wants him to. Adds some mystery and spice.

Doodlenoodle

So as Jake now levels he will maybe even forcefully drag his parents and his brother up the levels helping them a lot.

Almer Reyhan

Cause villy thought it was best not to, for jake's sake.

Aram Manasyan

I hope we get to see the sword saint and jake rematch in B grade especially since ss is upgrading his trancendence and will presumably get way stronger because of it. Their fight in the treasure hunt is honestly probably one of if not my favorite fight.

Kyle

I don’t think aeon has as much of an effect on humans as Valdemar though

Kyle

Jake needs to go to the mushroom wonder to level, hopefully with some more of his creations and the jumper

Josh Kubo

I already got all of them too, just really trying to slow down so I’m not waiting too long.

Josh Kubo

Well, considering he went from G to E in the first two books, then 13 more to get to B… Yeah, it might be a while for A

Alos

It would probably be a newly evolved god. Similar to how he hunted a true dragon before he reached B grade. Though, if he were to be pushed into killing a primordial level god or void god, I think it would be when he is close to being a godking.

DefinitelyNotMinaga

I remember when Jake killed the monkey prima wayy back before the world congress it mentioned something about the prima guardian breaking one of a thousand chains. I think THIS is the reason the prima guardian was capped at 349 instead of reaching B grade. If Jake hadnt severed this chain would it have been B grade? Food for thought...this theory has been gnawing at me

DeAndrea H

She slacking. When she ascended to Godqueen, they broke a bed. When he gets to B-grade, she’s nowhere to be found!

Darral Cate

Its the use of neither, it implies 2 people

Mat

Nature Attendant and hence Yggdrasil definitely noticed. With Nature Attendant being both a human and part of alias . Not mentioning impact on Dina.

Nano

Just finished audiobook 13 and zogarth!!!! Give a golden king update and my life is yours!!!!

J

Just realized that the fallen king would effectively be able to claim an entire solar system if not many many planets as a system recognized king

Thenais

time for irin to warm the bed

Endern

I actually think that Sim-Jake is constantly working on that skill. During Ell'Hakan fight, the First Sage's lesson and in the Shadow Realm it showed itself stronger than Jake believed it to be.

Bruno D. Alvim

I didn't know about the side stories exclusive to patreon (11 total, 1 and 3 are in book 1) check it out if you also didn't know, totally worth it

Matthew Ruiz

Can we please get an update on the golden retriever pleassseee

Bruno D. Alvim

yeah how is the goodest of boys, Ollie?

Ander Barbot

True. Another valid edit here would be replacing neither with none

Darral Cate

Would also have to change their

Ander Barbot

??? @notminaga Each chain on the prima guardian reduced its max level by a bit. Killing prima creatures broke those chains, thereby strengthening the prima guardian. Earth faced the absolute pinnacle prima guardian possible. They barely won. A b-grade wouldve slaughtered them.

JW Saxby

Side stories?

JW Saxby

👍🏼 Tftc 🍻

Bruno D. Alvim

yep, just look for "side story" in Zog's search box and enjoy

Jacob (EverythingRoy)

Thanks for the chapter Zogarth 🙏 Jake continues to be blissfully unaware of his ridiculousness

David

Jake will never willingly enter that place! LOL it will require a plot device of some sort. Hint hint Zog!!

Kyle

For sure, but imagine him accidentally making a living mycelium with his stuff somehow

DefinitelyNotMinaga

Yes per the description of the prima guardian event each day that passes and prima killed breaks a chain that weakens the guardian. Thats why other planets were hunting primas to weaken the guardian as much as possible. However since earth qualified for a higher level boss it then started breaking chains (not broken from primas) and rising in level due to the advanced difficulty. BUT what I base my theory on is that Jake killed the prima monkey way before the guardian event and it mentioned a chain breaking but no context on how it affected its power, simply that 999 chains remained. So then... when the prima giardian started breaking chains that empowered it it was already missing one. So would one more chain have pushed it over 349? Who knows. But i agree on the fact that a B grade wouldve decimated the strike team.

David

He would destroy it as the abomination it would be!!

DefinitelyNotMinaga

yeah Tonkin's backstory as Natures attendant is one such hidden gem.

MrCynical

Sword Saint will also be more evenly matched by sharing primordial true blessing with Jake. The true blessing gives much better bonuses we know from comparing Jake's true blessing to Miranda's divine blessing.

MrCynical

Nah. Sword Saint and others killed primas before the event started too. There was another brief aside to the sword Saint killing a prima then the prima only having 998 chains remaining. So Jake killing one early didn't make any difference to the event. And the copper viper straight up said a B grade prima would be impossible and no chance the system would would allow even the weakest tier B grade to be the opponent.

Drew

You can't shotgun a bottle of beer. It was such a weird disconnect that it completely broke me out of reading it.

Dailyarch

Us normal humans can't the two people in that meeting totally can carve a circle out of the bottom of a beer bottle and then pop the top probably through magic. That doesn't explain why they would bother doing that but hey it's two buds hanging out having a chill time.

Azulmar

Hes a god, if he wanted it to turn into pink elephants and fly up your butt it would likely happen 😝

carson

The nearly omnipotent snake god dressed in a flamingo costume draining beers quickly through his magical fangs broke your immersion?

Drew

Yes. It's the difference between an internally consistent fantastical element and what feels like an error. It could be fixed with a simple addition acknowledging the discrepancy as god shenanigans, or any number of other ways, but as an unqualified that's-not-how-that-works thing, yes, it's jarring.

joker ledger

That line about unique life form, a weird theory pop up when reading that line. The thing about unique life is they come with a lot of caveats, one of which is unable to incorporate into a any social structure, not just due to their abilities but also their nature. What if Jake is the system way of trying to make a unique life form that is a deviant of the enlighten race without any of its caveat? Some of his bloodline quirk would make more sense if it view as a special ability of a unique life form.

Greg Alverson

I am surprised that Jake didn't share a little more about his profession choices and in particular that he thought the skill that let him see the Vipers past was still there and that he thinks it might be related more to primeval origin then being a heretic. I also expected him to share the choice of the first sage class and them discuss that since the Viper is very interested in everything around the first sage also and the only one Jake can talk to about him due to forbidden knowledge.

makai agens

I think the system is preparing for war

Alex Landon

Maybe not good though in the long run. Humans will get stronger but it doesn't increase records gained so people will hit their 'limit' faster.

Fylbrom

Yea, when Jake and Atremis have a little elf girl, and she gets "Spirit of Elves" merged with her OP dad's "Spirit of Man", and then reaches Godhood herself, that's the type of Domino effect im here for.
