Sitting back and enjoying the show, Jake stuck to his usual ethos of not interfering in the fights of others. He didn’t pick any sides in this conflict, and while one side did look more open to negotiation and like they could communicate, he wasn’t going to write off the Boglord just because it was a big pile of sludge. That would be very prejudiced.

Thus, he waited as he evaluated the situation, gladly learning more about the kind of beings he was dealing with in the minor world known as Venus. Starting with the frog-like creatures.

With the way they fought, these frogs were showing clear humanoid tactics, though they definitely weren’t enlightened. Instead, they were a race like the Simivita Jake had killed way too many of at the Pantheon of Life, a race that showed many traits of the enlightened, while still very much remaining monsters.

The two slender frogs were casters that each used magic Jake couldn’t quite recognize. Firing off a few more uses of Identify, he confirmed that there were three variants in total part of this group.

[Venusian Virumancer – lvl 390]

[Venusian Warrior – lvl 381]

[Venusian Warrior – lvl 383]

[Venusian Shaman – lvl 395]

The Virumancer released green, translucent spore-like objects that infiltrated the body of the Boglord before rapidly causing whatever part they hit to wither and destroy itself, only really impacting the plant aspects of the Boglord’s body.

Meanwhile, the Shaman primarily dedicated itself to healing while also occasionally releasing different elemental skills. Seeing as they were flying over a massive ocean-sized lake, the shaman made liberal use of the environment, causing the water to rise and morph into giant snake-like creatures. Something that made Jake raise an eyebrow.

I guess it would make sense if there are also snakes in this place, Jake thought to himself, upon seeing the way too anatomically correct water snakes summoned by the shaman. Villy had grown up in an area of his planet designated a forbidden domain and managed to survive there despite being a low-grade beast, so it was entirely possible that there was also plenty of wildlife in this place that was innately adapted to the environment.

Jake was actually a bit surprised he hadn’t come across any elementals, as this seemed like a prime spawning ground for them. Then again, maybe the Boglord counted as half an elemental? It was definitely closer to one than anything else Jake could compare it to.

Just then, as Jake was in thought, the Boglord seemed to have gotten tired of the annoying frogs attacking it, and it released a loud droning roar. It echoed in Jake’s ears, making him cringe back a little at the sound, even from this far away. Needless to say, the frogs who were far closer had a worse time and were all pushed back. Taking this chance, the Boglord unleashed a follow-up as its massive arm swung down with high speed.

Impressively, the shaman immediately shrugged off the attack and summoned a large projection of a bullfrog that encased itself and all the other frogs. The projection was disrupted, exploding into a wave of green light that made the Boglord recoil as its arm flew upward.

As one, the three Venusian Warriors unleashed the same skill as their clubs glowed with green light and conjured projections that made each club appear more than a hundred times larger, while even growing spikes.

All three swung, and right before they impacted the Boglord, the Virumancer also cast some spell that wrapped around the spiked clubs, effectively coating them in some form of virus-based poison.

These three hits landed without the Boglord defending itself at all, actually pushing the gigantic monster back for over a hundred kilometers, and for a moment, it looked like it would fall over into the ocean it called home.

Stabilizing itself, the Boglord slowly turned toward the five frogs in the distance. When it did, Jake saw the Shaman and Virumancer instantly start using some magic, seemingly fully aware of what was about to come.

And good thing they were.

The Boglord’s entire body began emanating with even more power than before as its entire chest wriggled. The plant matter all came to the surface of its body and multiplied as a gigantic flower bloomed from its chest. In the center of the flower, energy gathered for a mere moment before it exploded outwards, making Jake’s eyes open wide.

A beam of pure destructive energy consumed the entire landscape, its diameter even larger than the Boglord itself. It reached the five frogs nearly instantly, but right before it could, space magic wrapped around all five as they were teleported a couple of thousand kilometers away and out of the range of the beam.

The beam in question continued to ravage the land further than Jake could see, creating a massive circular scar far into the horizon. This attack continued for a couple of seconds before it subsided, and the flower on the Boglord slowly closed itself and merged back into the gigantic B-grade’s body.

Far stronger than that Dragon’s Breath, Jake noted, entirely clear that even after his evolution, he didn’t want to be in the path of that attack. If he used everything, there was a chance he could maybe block it and come out alive the other end, but he saw no reason to risk something like that, considering how damn telegraphed the beam had been.

Looking at the Boglord, this had clearly also taken a lot out of it. After the flower returned to its body, it only turned toward the five frogs for a moment before its body started sinking into the ocean-sized lake.

Jake fully expected the five frogs to press their offensive, but instead, they struck Jake as relieved. They simply watched the Boglord enter the massive lake fully before they seemed to let down their guard.

Weren’t they hunting it? Jake questioned in confusion. They had clearly been the attackers, yet they had given up so easily once the Boglord decided to retreat. Granted, based on the aura and power displayed by the Boglord, these frogs probably weren’t going to win, but facing an uphill challenge had never been a good argument not to try.

Watching as the fighting had come to an end, Jake decided to approach the five frogs. At this point, he was way too curious to simply attack and much more interested in what was going on within this minor world. Plus, Jake wouldn’t want to attack five clearly sapient creatures who were already tired from a prior fight. That just didn’t fit his vibe.

Jake purposefully stopped hiding himself as he flew towards the five frogs in a very obvious manner, keeping a steady and – at least in his opinion – unintimidating level of speed. Without Unseen Hunter, the frogs immediately spotted his approach, and instantly, they were back to being on guard.

They seemed to communicate amongst themselves briefly as the three warriors went to the front, and two casters prepared in the back. Seeing this, Jake stopped approaching and held up his hands in front of his chest in what he hoped was a universal sign of non-aggression.

“I’m not here to fight, just talk,” Jake said, infusing his voice with power to make sure it reached them, even through the less-than-friendly environment that seemed to even corrode sound. He was also betting on his Myriad Tongues skill doing its job, as he seriously doubted frogs from a sealed world that had likely never interacted with the rest of the multiverse spoke a language Jake was familiar with.

The frogs turned to each other for a moment before the Shaman in the group spoke up... and did not at all sound like Jake had expected them to.

“Excuse us for our suspicious disposition, stranger, but we find ourselves wholly unfamiliar with your visage and kin, and in such a scenario, we find prioritizing safety most wise,” the Shaman said in a voice that Jake could neither call male nor female, though if he had to guess, he would say it was a female. That wasn’t the surprising thing, though. It was the accent, which sounded so damn formal, that Jake almost expected the frog to pull out a cup of tea midway through talking.

“That’s fair,” Jake responded, not even going to try mimicking their speech pattern to seem more approachable. “Allow me to introduce myself. I’m a hunter from the human race, in case you’ve heard about it, and I stumbled upon this scene of you fighting the Boglord. I’m new here, and seeing as the large fellow retreated, I decided to approach you five to hopefully gain some information about this world.”

Jake saw no reason to hide much if he wanted to form a good relationship with these frog people. He also hoped he could elicit some involuntary information from them with his words, which he did immediately. They clearly had no idea what a human was, and seemed wholly confused when he said he was new and wanted information about this world.

“If you desire information, I do believe we can reach a mutually beneficial agreement. I must readily admit that we find ourselves unfamiliar with your kind and the meaning of your words when you claim you are new to the world. Could you elaborate?” the Shaman asked.

“I came from somewhere very different to here, somewhere incredibly far away,” Jake answered, not wanting to outright disclose they were inside a minor world, which had its entrance replace what was once Venus. “As for humans, we are many where I come from. However, in the same vein that you are unfamiliar with my kind, I have never encountered a Venusian before today, and would love to hear more about your race.”

The frogs turned to consult with one another for a few moments before the Shaman turned back towards Jake and spoke.

“Could you tell me how many companions you have ventured here with?”

Clearly, they were scared Jake was hiding an army of something, a fear he would gladly put to rest.

“I came alone,” he quickly answered.

“Truly? No entourage?” the Shaman asked, almost with disbelief. “Traveling between islands isn’t safe in the best of circumstances. Are we perhaps mistaken to assume you have come here in a diplomatic capacity?”

Yeah, okay, they had somehow ended up thinking Jake was some kind of diplomat. That did make Jake question how exactly diplomacy operated in this Venus world, but it also raised some very interesting points. First, the concept of diplomats existed in the first place, which had to mean that there were different factions or groups of sapient creatures capable of engaging in diplomacy. Which really begged another question... exactly how big was this Minor World?

Jake knew there weren’t any set rules for just how large these Minor Worlds could be, and they were only really minor compared to real universes. In other words, they could easily be utterly massive, especially from a mortal’s perspective. Admittedly, Jake had assumed this place wouldn’t be that large, seeing as it had replaced a planet in his solar system, but now he was beginning to doubt that.

After briefly collecting his thoughts, Jake answered the frog’s question.

“No, I’m a lone wanderer out on adventure,” he said, knowing it would likely lead to one of two results.

The best result would be that the frog people calmed down, knowing that he hadn’t come with some hidden army. Assuming they believed him, that is. As an individual, they also shouldn’t see him as that big of a threat, with Jake purposefully not hiding his level. From many prior interactions, he had learned that hiding his level was a top-tier way to put people on high alert.

With the frogs calm, they would hopefully be open to a diplomatic conversation, allowing Jake to learn more about this world. Of course, it was also entirely possible the opposite would happen.

Believing he was a lone, low-level person, it wasn’t out of the question that they would decide to simply get rid of him, not wishing to deal with the unknown. Or maybe they were just assholes who, despite their currently polite demeanor, really liked bullying people. Could be, seeing as they seemingly just wanted to try to beat up the Boglord a little before casually leaving.

Time would tell what their response would be as the frogs talked amongst themselves, definitely giving off a confused vibe. After a few seconds, they turned back towards him, the Shaman remaining the speaker of their group.

“Excuse our skepticism, but we find it highly improbable that a singular individual who is still in the very early stages of B-grade is traveling alone, especially seeing as you even dared venture between islands.”

Okay, yeah, that was a fair point. It also told Jake that the empty space between these islands, wherein Jake hadn’t encountered a single thing, wasn’t actually devoid of dangers, but was perhaps worse than an island like this.

“As I said, I’m entirely new to this place, and I’m unaware of the dangers that lurk here,” Jake said, really not sure how to convincingly get through to them that he was just a guy who liked to explore dangerous places.

The frogs definitely weren’t buying it, and Jake reckoned he would have to display something to convince the frog people. For a moment, he considered unleashing his aura, but decided against that, as his goal wasn’t to scare them, but make it clear he wasn’t a threat... without actually making them realize that should they decide to kill him, he was very much a threat.

“While I am indeed only in the very early stage of B-grade, I am rather proficient in staying safe when exploring unknown places. Do recall that despite me observing your battle with the Boglord, I only allowed you to be aware of my presence once the fight was done. When it comes to stealth and escape, I dare say that few can catch me,” Jake explained, not actually lying. If he wanted to, he was indeed very good at escaping, even if fighting was also totally an option.

His words seemed to make the frogs think as they conversed a little longer, throwing glances at him here and there. Not too long after, the Shaman once more addressed Jake.

“Okay, we have chosen to temporarily believe you are not here with any nefarious motives, but that does beg the question: what is your motive for coming here? Is it truly simple exploration, or do you have some grander objective in mind?” the Shaman asked another very valid question.

“It’s truly just exploration; however, I will not hide from you that there is a good chance others like me will also come to this place, with my experience setting a strong precedent for how they may act here in the future,” Jake said, aware that what he said could definitely be viewed as a veiled threat.

“I see, that makes me conclude that while your presence here is as an individual explorer, you may ultimately end up representing a greater force,” the Shaman nodded, thinking for a few moments before addressing him again. “With that in consideration, we would like to courteously extend an invitation to visit our home. I believe conversing there will be not only a lot more comfortable but also significantly safer.”

Jake smiled beneath his mask, a little proud of himself for having successfully maneuvered this interaction into an outcome that wasn’t a fight. Granted, he had been lucky that the frog people were incredibly polite and friendly, while definitely also on the smarter side. A lot of these humanoid monsters who acted civilized turned out not to be, but these frog people definitely seemed well-developed socially.

“I’ll gladly accept that invitation,” Jake said with a nod.

“Excellent, now please, let us not speak with such space between one another anymore,” the Shaman said.

Jake nodded and proved his words about being elusive true a second later, stepping down three times in quick succession, appearing right in front of the frogs, who seemed a little taken aback by his speed.

“You certainly didn’t oversell your prowess in the movement arts,” the Shaman said in a friendly tone, bowing its head slightly. “I would speak more, but let us return first. I am certain the Oracle would be more than happy to personally meet you.”

“Lead the way,” Jake said, definitely looking forward to seeing how these frogs lived. Oh, and if they had tea. Definitely sounded like they had tea.

Now it’s a chapter before bed instead of chapter upon waking up

Gwiddion

New schedule ? Thought yesterday was an exception. Though can get behind it new chapter lands in my morning break.

Ben Heggem

How am I the 20th person and only 40 seconds after the post?😂😂tftc

Azayrian105

He is really sick right now so he is doing what he can and we are lucky we are even getting chapters. He just isn’t mentioning it in the Patreon.

Colin

I guess some people read way too fast? Idk.

Gwiddion

Damm lets hope for a quick recovery.

Josh Strange

These frogs seem rather dapper. I have a mental picture of the WB frog mascot, even though I know that's nowhere close 🤣

wyattmon

Thought we would jump straight into Prima Administrator stuff but I do not mind a quick frog adventute beforehand

Arrogant Savant

Lol I am imagining a posh lady-sounding frog.

Doorda

Oh this upcoming conversation will be funny Shaman and the gods

Yeslek Nnamhctits

Love the tea drinking frogs. JUST HOW OP IS VENUS

Leon Cleland

How good is a mid-arvo chapter release

Arrogant Savant

"Too sick to do anything else but not sick enough to stop writing" Zog is a good version of Zog but we shouldn't push it

Azayrian105

Yeah he even said don’t expect any other chapters in the week. Maybe we get them, maybe we don’t. Depends on how it goes.

Phallusar

You got here "40 seconds after the post" but I got here 2 minutes before getting an alert that the post was live just casually browsing Zogarth's Patreon and refreshing randomly.

Ben Cox

I'm really wondering how this is going to play out is this going to be a high or low leveled map for Jake to explore. Based on beasts easily 50+ levels ahead of him saying he's quick as fuck I want to side with low level map as I can only assume their looking relived the boglord left and them having been fighting it in the first place means they are what this world considers a reputable hunting party. Tyftc

Christophe H.

I guess some people comment before reading :).

David

Loving this new arc! It's been awhile since we've had that wonder of exploring the unknown! For such a long time now, things have already been fairly quantified. We know the basic races, factions, etc. and anytime Jake has encountered something new, he had Villy or someone else to fall back on for exposition, so he still ended up with at least a general idea of what to expect. Boldly go, Jake! Boldly go!

Kt-x

Thanks for the chapter!

Fdrugc

Tftc this might be interesting

Sol

Just know that's gonna be some early grey they be drinking with a hint boglord 🤣

Stephen

Maybe its not quick. Maybe he spends his entire preparation time here adventuring with these frogs. Funny how there are four of them, and he can bring 4 allies. Just gotta power level a bit to be higher level.

Rewdan

So Jake is going to end up killing the Boglord and befriending the frogs

Rewdan

Thanks Zogarth a great chapter

ABTelford

I love this chapter! And I totally thought the frogs were gonna attack the second he came close. Glad I was wrong, this’ll be more fun! 😀

wyattmon

I love that idea actually, chances of it are slim but perhaps he'll find a special frog to Jake Juice up

Fylbrom

I can't stop smiling the whole time reading this. Imagine there are a myriad of different "races" all at war with one another and it's a truly massive minor world the size of a galaxy or something. Perfect political practice for prima event, happening in a toxic environment, with possible wars for levels. I have a feeling Venus is going to be ,passively OP for Jake.

Darral Cate

Are there 3 warriors or 2? Jake identifies 2 then describes 3 warriors casting the same spell at the boglord

John Durrett

tyftc. Jake flew down a long long tunnel. Frog in a well? Not knowing how big the outside world is. :) Hoping Jake discovers more awesome poisons - maybe find some poisoned beer to share with Villy once he's back out. :)

Seen Death

I already like this... area haha Prime place for jake to just learn more about the poison by just being there, plenty of strong beings around with unknown abilities... basically in his most favourable environment... Suprisingly inteligent creatures... Only bad thing is he only has 100 days? Before the event But i mean he can always come back I kind of want jake to claim this as his own secret world lol I doubt it will be that easy but maybe not considering his status Neat little hidey hole that he could secure even more if he wanted in the future Edit: theyre talking about "freshly evolved B grades" as being weak so theres definitely A grades around id imagine I look foward to how it plays out!

Xander

TFTC :) Suggested edits: " in an *area* of his planet designated a forbidden *area* " repetitive phrasing. perhaps "...designated as forbidden..." instead or change one to "region" "there *were* also plenty of wildlife in this place that "were" ..." both instances should be "was" or if you stick with "were" you have to change wildlife to "creatures" or "beings" or similar. "seemingly *just* wanted to try to beat up the Boglord a little before *just* leaving." repetitive. ditch either.

Perren D'Wolff

Yeah, that confused me as well, i thought there were 2 casters and 2 warriors and then a third randomly appeared.

Xander

Jake identified the 3rd warrior in yesterdays chapter venusian warrior lvl(388)

Xander

If jakes slapping down a lvl 411 20 minutes after reaching B grade himself its gonna get tough for him to find a challenge going forward. I woulkd expect something a little lower for him to test himself against before Jake goes after the big prey.

Xander

There are 5 of them

Lonez Zhavec

God damn it. Im liking this frog arc already.

Biggy smalls

I mean his new hunters momentum upgrade works for up to a 125 level discrepancy. He also noted how tuckered out that super move made this boglord. Jake’s an alchemist who’s perfectly suited for this environment given his profession. 60 something levels seems right in his wheelhouse. Didn’t the hornet king have that big of a level lead on him? Not to mention the series started with Jake killing the King which more than doubled him in level.

Stevean Bozek

It's a good thing they're amphibians and not monkeys. Jake's track record with monkeys is pretty clear and while I personally welcome another monkey murder adventure I have to wonder if his records will be affected and he'll wind up being offered skills related to it

C0bra$

Thank u for the story

Daryl

A couple chapters ago I predicted that Jake would meet someone friendly on Venus, similar to how he met Jasper, Hawkie, or the dungeon troll. This turn of events isn't what I was expecting at all, but I'm here for it. Maybe Jake will give one of these frogs a blessing.

Daryl

Seems like it would be easy for him to claim since most people wouldn't even be able to survive the trip there lol.

Noah Mclelland

I wonder how the entrance works, like does it send you into the world at the same point regardless where you went in from the outside, is it random, or can it be mapped with entrance x leads to exit y

definitelynotbrjenness

Some snakes become poisonous by eating frogs. Note to "acksually" types: Go ahead, you know you want to say venomous. Just say it. Come on. Show us how smart you are.

definitelynotbrjenness

If Jake blesses a frog, will villy be able to see into the minor world? Maybe God's can already see into a minor world, just not system events?

Ricky Keenum

Early post, zogie needs to fix his sleeping habits. Or Patreon needs to fix their system

Jordan Rogers

He doesn’t have a schedule. And really he might just be busy and is sending them out when he first gets up instead of around noon his time.

Comeback Kid

Dammit, you just blew away my internal picture of the frog people and replaced it with that version.

Jordan Rogers

I feel like Jake saying just recently he can see most of the solar system with his perception sphere pulse, that his will do a pulse and not be able to see the end in any direction, and this will be come earth factions hidden ace for hunt leveling. Or they sell hunting rights to anyone who gets past minagas dungeon. Of course Jake could use his own prove play place 😈

Ricky Keenum

I meant it more as a I hope he was sleeping well. I know you can schedule posts with Patreon as well and most of them come out 7:30 my time, so this one coming out at like 1am… hopefully he was able to sleep

Ben Sheahan

It’ll also hopefully give him time to test out his new Class a little

Boomer

Some frogs also eat snakes.

Daryl

Are minor worlds valid targets for planetary sacrifice rituals or...

Esch

Watch as Jake learn the Venusians worship a Mushroom God and begins the "Great Frog Genocide of 2026".

Seen Death

That is a wonderful question! I can see it going either way: From the outside Venus looks like a planet But maybe its more like a gate shrouded in toxins in the middle that leads to the same area On the other hand, maybe it would change based on where you entered from Could have some neat influences on the security of the place

Cory S.

New potential members of the Order.

John McGurn

Quote from Zog this morning when this chapter dropped. “Yes, I'm still sick, and my sleep schedule remains utterly fucked. I also know that I said I wasn't sure I would post today. Turns out I am. A surprise to all of us. Gonna say it again, though... no idea how chapters will be for the rest of this week. Don't expect anything. Anyhow, time to heat up some hot chocolate.”

Numbzy

So what are the chances that the frogs try killing him at their home? Im giving it like a 70% chance that the frog end up hostile.

Dalton Service

I can't wait to hear the frogs with stereotypical sophiticated British accents 😂

Dalton Service

I've been working the night shift these past 2 days so its been a pleasant surprise for my midnight break!

Fyrtue

I don't know why, but I want there to be some knock off Malefic Viper on this planet that Jake launches a crusade against on principle.

IntenseSushi

Tftc it’s nice to have a fresh adventure arc not attached (seemingly) to the greater plot line

Jul Silver

Thanks for algae this update.

JJB4345_80_815

Yes, thank you for the chappy Zogarth!

Daniel Wells

oh no not an oracle. Jake is going to asked to take on a heroic quest 🥹

djthomp

It's a good day to befriend some nice and polite frogs.

Samuel Nelson

Actually, *pushes glasses up with one finger*, the proteins in frog poisons are digested, then absorbed by the predator, in this case snakes. Those same proteins are then slowly absorbed over time to assimilate with the snakes venom. This can take generations in real world, but probably just till the next skill selection, or skill upgrade threshold in this story. So, yes, your assessment was indeed correct. Unless Zogarth disagrees.

Daniel Wells

That would hilarious and totally Jake. I wad hoping Scarlet would be one of his four for the event

David

Squeak squeaker, squeak squeakum!

David

Bwahahaha!!😂🤣

Episode 19

wow, new characters and none seem like a dick, nice tyftc

Jansemon

i was first once

Joken

That’s what I thought. Somehow these frogs make some order material, esp due to the atmosphere they live in. Can you imagine this minor world becoming the Malefic headquarters of the 93rd universe.

David

Ditto!

Clint

Or starts a holy war. Preach the gospel of Villy and wipe out the foul mushroom worshippers.

David

We should know that without it since if Jake can't speak to Villy, no one could. It'll be interesting to find out when/if Jake tries reaching out to Villy

Cory S.

I’m looking forward to seeing what Zog does with this. I personally hope it turns into a positive thing and not just something Jake blows up.

Clint

I think it’s pretty obvious this is going to be monkeys redux. That is, he’s going to arrive back at Haven ten minutes before the Prima event starts for him, half-crippled from beating the Bog King and carrying a massively toxic natural treasure to add to the valley.

Francois

Please please tell me there will be another faction of the dreaded MUSHROOMS and they have a bad relationship with the frogs... Uhm yes I like this, I feel like Jake fighting B grades more powerful than him that he actually dislikes would be fantastic 😌😌

Daniel Brian

The big holographic frog is what sold it for me. Lol

Kyle

He’d be more likely to help it to annoy villy

microwavey

The Boglord used Solar Beam! It had no effect.

Ocellus

This is cool. I am going to like this little mini arc

Nate

Weirdly enough, I have this vague memory of an ancient picture book of ideas for what types of people could be living on other planets and the Venusians were very frog like. Stumpy though, like their shoulders were the very top of their body.

Josie

Mmm. Yeah I get invasive thoughts about the "acksually" types too 😊

Daymond Walford

Mushroom God arc? Is the Oracle the Portobello of Portents? A Crisis Cremini? Seer of Shiitake?

DeAndrea H

I really enjoyed this chapter. My mental picture was a mix of the WB frog and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Tea time!

Siethrobo

Jake's going to have a new challenge as he goes through the grades, finding shit to kill. Everything that's B grade or above is intelligent and I have a feeling the multiverse is going to uncover the just don't fight back tactic employed by the B grade bird in the pantheon of life.

Mike

Did Jake just successful do diplomacy?! They grow up so fast

definitelynotbrjenness

I was referring to a legit real world snake that is poisonous to eat because it eats poison frogs.

Jeroen Turkstra

That discovery was probably only because they had a second encounter, after quite a revealing incident. If Jake finishes enemies off in one go. No time to think up such tactics.

Steven L

He is gonna fight mushrooms or eat it at a banquet.

J

That would be amazing

Daniel

Not really. There are some really unintelligent B/A/S/Gods out there. This is just to get a lay of the land.

David

Battletoads! Err.....Battlefrogs!!

Jeroen Turkstra

Tyftc I do like that Jake is trying some diplomacy. I wonder how things will go down the line with them. Alliance to take down the boglord? Or another group? (probably mushroom people knowing Jake, or apes). Or will they try to stab him in the back? I think the chances low seeing how surprised they were at his movement speed. Unlesssss it was all an act. And they noticed him in stealth. As for my predictions: Are these frogs the cute race I predicted? Dunno yet. Did we see a big boss elemental? Mmm maybe the boglord is one. My predictions weren’t that good for now though.

David

He should get a title for being first to discover the minor world. Nothing major, but something sounds like it would be appropriate

Wselby64

Wondering if we are going to see some snake races that possibly live with the frogs and that jake could possibly easily befreind

doctordirt

That's all I imagine now

Carl Never

Is venus going to be a great plannet? He said it was to large to curve and the frogs seem to think there is nothing outside.

UNKNOWN

No, great planets are so much larger than galaxies by such a stupid amount it's just funny. They have several galaxies in their top layers alone.

UNKNOWN

This place is missing the endless swarms of mosquitoes. We're smack dab in the middle of a swamp, where are they?

UNKNOWN

Minions! Tonight, we blow up, THE VENUS!

UNKNOWN

Everyone loves a good holy war.

UNKNOWN

@brjenness ummm acksually snakes are venomous ash they ush their venom to hunt prey, and not ash a defense mechanizm.

TwoMoreYears

Definitely sounded like they had tea is such a Jake line

UNKNOWN

The new schedule is that there is no schedule.

UNKNOWN

There is no release schedule kek.

Nexas Aurelias

It would def be interesting to see how these snakes who like the frogs may have very limited knowledge of the multiverse would interact with the chosen of the Primordial snake God 😆

Lemonsqueezy

Boglord casted a Kamehameha or a Big Bang Attack

definitelynotbrjenness

someone is suing the big social media companies for knowingly making a product that was addictive. I consider primal hunter much more addicting. Just saying. . . in case some meanie leaves us hanging off a cliff next year...

Lemonsqueezy

Zog described the world as cold nearly freezing which would definitely negate it being a swamp world. However, frogs needs to live in a warm moist climate so who knows if mosquitos are there.

Lemonsqueezy

this story is definitely addictive. It has kept my attention for several years now and I have severe ADHD. I have given up on many other stories like this, DoTF and HWFWM for instance.

Lemonsqueezy

I am really enjoying what you are doing with Venus. Far from what I expected to happen. This is starting to fit with the quote on Jake's boots that mentions "twin worlds".

Aurora1325

i mean killing things is part of a lot of things path so alot of creatures sre as likely to want to fight jake as jake os to fight them

Cody

Didn’t zog say that galaxies existed within the layers of great planets? They’re too big to even fathom.

definitelynotbrjenness

I didn't like whiny Jason in book 2, but I still read the books as they come out. dotf I keep royal road current. I enjoy the big faction parts and Zac almost killing his friends when he causes stuff to blow up. cultivation krap I just browse through.

SinCinnamon

Please let there be tea! And, I feel like they should all become Villy followers. Or Jake followers. Fits with their Path too well it seems. And why not Jake converting an entire new species inadvertently? Seems fitting.

Saleh Alhasan

I can't stop of imagining the frogs talking in a British accent with full of etiquette

JohnSnowden

Has DOTF gotten any better? I dropped it a while back (probably like a year ago?) because he tried pulling in way too many different concepts and stopped giving skill updates so it was hard to tell what skills did what after being upgraded.

Bjarne Hansen

I wonder, could this be the actual world wonder of the 93d universe ...

Ty Cooper

Who would have thought battle toads were British? Tftc

Josie

Villy was proud of Jake for remembering Yalsten was a closed world Jake's proud of Jake for making it through an introduction without someone dying Appropriately low standards for our special boy 😭

DirePants

This seems like it’s going to be a fun mini arc.

Arieh Sochaczevski

Thanks for the chapter! If they drink water, then they have tea. Water + flavor = tea or soup.

Lemonsqueezy

I doubt it. I think the World Wonder is something that is hidden or at least inaccessible to the multi-verse until the system event is over.

definitelynotbrjenness

after he finished his core and left that dungeon thing, he goes into a big war that I enjoyed. I found that part the best arc in a while. nothing since he finished his core has been even close to as long winded. a lot of Zac blowing stuff up and nearly killing his friends who forgive him because they made huge gains because of it.

definitelynotbrjenness

I've been in plenty of nearly frozen swamps. where there be beavers, there be swamps. I think you could call a lot of Alaska a swamp during warm summers. many bad memories in swamps. including one time I was hanging on a mangrove tree and noticed an enormous spider by my face and decided hanging out with the spider was better than climbing back down into the water.

Carl Never

Your right but if what venus was is just the entrance then we cant really say how big it is right it could be that big. I was already wondering if jake became a god on earth it might have enough pasive magic to grow earth into a great but venus just being hidden would make sense to me

Carl Never

Oh i had already forgotten the boots good job

Carl Never

Hwfwm got pretty odd lately i was mad enough to throw things like book 5 and 12 was odd enough that i quit paying attention zogs got to be on book 16 and im like more excited than i was when i was rereading book 1 waiting for 2 to come out

Carl Never

Oh man now im going to think that every time i see the flower kaaaaa meeeaaaa

RonGAR

Need to activate Star Trek First Contact Protocols here, brudda. LOL Jake needs to get into his 'ambassador' mode. Especially being from a snake faction. Frogs and Snakes usually don't get along. Hmmm, I wonder if this is a new, unknown species? Like he Smitivah Apes? A species just reaching sentience as a whole, or how bout a 'long lost' species newly rediscovered. Im sure Villy will have something to say. .. They might be his favorite snack. LOL

Josie

Oh!! Maybe? If the system can pluck Jake out of this closed planet for the Event, then it could have started the Guardian Event in here too. And since it's a closed world that would explain why its pylon didn't show up on the galaxy map during the guardian event. Hmm 🤔

definitelynotbrjenness

muhahaha... fell for my trap. I was talking about a specific snake that is poisonous. everybody look at the wanna be brainiac that doesn't know there is a poisonous snake. hahaha ha thank you for volunteering, I've been waiting all day to say that. it's the little things in life.

Josie

Just realized.. if Jake still has his Scales and Wings active, the froggies may still not know what a human looks like 😅

joker ledger

Well I'll be damned, Jake actually meet someone for the first time without it having ended in bloodshed or a fight. Praise Villy, he grow up so fast.

ChRiAn

He has to know where they live before he can start his next genocide

ChRiAn

Given that a Snake Chosen is about to meet a frog civilization I expect a slug somewhere as well.

ChRiAn

Seems far to small and non-special for that. Plus it is more or less established that the Exalted Prima Seat is the WW of the 93rd and I highly doubt that that is placed directly besides Earth.

ChRiAn

Only if there are slugs as well

ChRiAn

Ghostvine was B-Grade and hardly qualified as intelligent. Or sentient.

ChRiAn

Medium of Mycilia

ChRiAn

Well, he is already a Chosen One, so....

ChRiAn

No, as far as I know he is sick and has a scrambeld sleep (and writing) time because of it.

Bjarne Hansen

While i agree, still think this is both pretty hidden and specific …

Lemonsqueezy

There is still a chance for this to go tits up and these frogs betray Jake and then he proceeds to commit genocide.

Lemonsqueezy

This world is does not really exist in the 93rd universe. Think of it as a pocket dimension. Venus exists only to hide and protect the portal to this dimension, but doesn't have any sort of physical substance to it.

Lynderyn

He met a new race and didn’t resort to killing everything. He has grown.

Lynderyn

Sylphie situation again. Humans have wings and scales and glowing yellow eyes

Lynderyn

I’m thinking part of it. All different prima types have their own “island” in the hidden world. Each with its own hidden entrance.

Lynderyn

The difference is PH does not have an actively maintained algorithm designed to keep people coming back and only reading PH. It has continuity and good plot… and cliffs, but not an evil algorithm that is hidden behind

Josie

Yeah, he needs to play with his Class before Event time, but these Profession possibilities are really exciting! This is part of the current description in Touch: "Allows the Alchemist to far more effectively control all toxins he is in contact with when using Touch of the Malefic Viper." I'd love for his next upgrade to be him controlling all toxins around him, the zone of control scaling with Perception with the effectiveness of his control still based on Int/Wis. Take control of Venus, Jake!

Biggy smalls

Yeah, It's going to be harder to progress now that pretty much everything he faces from here on out will be sentient. At least if he doesn't want to be a complete monster like his Patron and leave loads more bodies in his wake than he needs to.

Drexnaw

Perfect planet and race for the order. Jake is going to be upset when this discovery and everything goes to villy and hes hailed as an exemplary chosen who found an entire race and planet for his god lol

Carl Never

Hell people are sentient they say and id kill a bunch of them jake will be fine lol

Carl Never

Tsunade is bouncing for the chance.

definitelynotbrjenness

multi wielding poison lances from target to target...or better yet arrows made from the toxins so he can get his damage bonuses.

Josie

I think so? If the Prima Guardian won a pylon then when the Event was over the Guardian died and the monsters won control of the planet. I think Vespy & the King mostly helped beast/monster planets after Jake won Earth's pylon. I could be misremembering tho

Kevin Watson

it’s always nice when there’s friends

Daniel Wells

30 seconds into Oracles explanation Jake "I'll do it!" Oracle "wow that was fast" Jake "You had me at kill (evil) mushroom people"

ABTelford

Can Villy see him and talk to him in this hidden realm?…I’m thinking not but my brain is asking why not?…brain no worky. Help me peeps?

Caezar

Once he makes friends with the frogs he’ll be totally justified in destroying their enemies tho, right?

Biggy smalls

I think he can now that he's been made aware of the space and Jake being in there. In my mind this works like forbidden knowledge for the average joe. Once you've gotten access to the knowledge you can learn about it and have conversations about it. But we won't know for sure until Jake and Villy have a chat.

Austin Barton

Not really there are a bunch of assholes out there and everything being sentient means everything can be an asshole and Jake has 100% shot dead some random Joe shmo that was an asshole

Austin Barton

Some long lost race that is only back due to Jake’s records in the galaxy.

Austin Barton

Something tells me we are getting an aeon clock level story for Jake soon like how he went into a realm sealed it and killed two A grades as a B grade.

Josie

Hope you feel better soon, Mr Author! Take as much time as you need to heal well 🙏🍵

Jip

If they end up scuffling, who wants to take bets on if jake dumps their tea (accidentally) into a body of water?

Daniel Hamilton

Curious, if he’s gonna end up giving out a few blessings, and if there are snake people

DefinitelyNotMinaga

DW Im sure Mr. Zog just needs a bit of Serene Water and some rest. Even Primordial level Authors gotta rest up now and then.

Kevin Hargett

Annnd as a matter of fact, earth and Venus are super close in size. And can be referred to as twins. Great catch!

DefinitelyNotMinaga

I love how intent and interpretation can change how a skill can upgrade or behave. Your words "controlling all toxins around him" makes me think Jake can easily go into a long ass internal monologue like "what is a toxin really?' and take two chapters to achieve random BONKERS OP enlightenment.

Bjarne Hansen

Sylphie says "super humans" are like Jake, stupid humans don't have wings, scales or glowing yellow eyes.

Bjarne Hansen

Agree, I gave up on "Mark of the fool", at book 7 ... still loving "Expediitionary Force" though ... it's a different genre.

Bjarne Hansen

I see book 14 and 15 on audible, but no date ... am waiting patiently :)

Josie

well that was fast 😅

Schneeente

He might get a couple of levels out of it, if villy acknowledges it. That's pretty nice, though. Especially because his 2nd profession is so slow to level up...

Drexnaw

Tru he would but thered be a ceremony and party for him being a good chosen and you know Villy and Artemis will revel in making it as painful as possible for jake

Rid

The current arc in ultom is finally happening after years leading up to it. Ngl, it’s been some of my favorite since the perennial vastness. I didn’t really enjoy the intersector war arc.

Rid

I’m ride or die for HWFWM- it’s the series that introduced me to litrpg and its adjacent genres. There hasn’t been a book in the series that I didn’t love 😅

definitelynotbrjenness

When Jason returns to earth from a relatively peaceful universe where things are constantly trying to kill him or destroy his soul and turn him into a puppet, dealing with earthlings again seems quite stressful and Jason spends a lot of time being grumpy and frustrated.

JW Saxby

This is kinda really cool and intriguing new stuff 😇👍🏼 Such an amazing world builder Zog 👏😌 Tftc 🍻

Jeroen Turkstra

how about touch through pride? given that some fundamental upgrades link the legacy skills this seems like a plausable path to take no?

Asterrahl

Fun! A new world, new peoples, outside the umbrella of the established multiversal powers. True exploration, the Roaming Protagonist. I like this stuff a lot. I'm glad the new universe has cool stuff in it to discover. The old ones also surely do, as Vilas said, some things one can only stumble upon. But this 93rd universe is all new! Jake is a bit special and normally not a big talker, but he's gonna have to be diplomatic and friendly and thoughtful this time. Good for him, and for us, I look forward to reading it. I also have a bit of an accumulation of ~20 or so chapters to read, I feel fortunate.

Cobadulu

Is it just me or does Zog name drop another book series of "lone wanderer"?

Chloe

Of course they have tea. Tyftc
