Jake had initially gone to Venus with the goal of getting a bit of hunting in and becoming more familiar with what he could now do as a B-grade. Of course, things had been a little sidetracked when he learned that Venus was no longer a planet, but instead an entrance point to a massive Minor World filled with B and even A-grades.

While that had delayed him a bit, all in all, it was probably even better from the perspective of someone who just wanted to visit Venus for a little bit of hunting. A planet like Venus could only facilitate so many B-grades, and they would likely end up living in their own territories far apart from one another, making it highly inefficient to track them down one-by-one. Also, Jake wasn’t even sure he would have wanted to hunt them down, as it seemed a bit questionable to visit a new planet and proceed to completely fuck up the local populace, all to probably not even get a single level.

Meanwhile, the new and improved Minor World Venus offered an entire field of death filled with B-grade Arachnecs for him to kill to his heart’s content without any guilt. No, better than without guilt, he was actively making friends by hunting down the undead.

Now, he did consider for a moment whether hunting down the Arachnecs was morally questionable. According to the Shaman, they were part of an organized faction, which meant they had sentience at the very least. Killing them unceremoniously could definitely be viewed as a dick move, but at this point, Jake had already made his choice on which faction he wanted to ally with within this Minor World.

Also, let’s be honest, was it really a choice in the first place? The frog people were literally called Venusians, meaning that, even according to the system, they were the “true” natives of this Minor World. At least that’s what Jake thought, having already named this Minor World Venus. It would also be way too big of a coincidence that the frogs were randomly called Venusians if this Minor World wasn’t actually called Venus.

Anyhow, along with the Shaman and four other frogs, Jake had started moving through the death domain and taken down several more Deathstalkers. Only after he’d taken down the fourth did the other Arachnecs react, and oh boy, did they react.

“Retreat for now,” the Shaman said in a hurried voice as he summoned a barrier around them all. “They’ll likely start swarming soon, if they haven’t done so already.”

Jake, who had already used Pulse to confirm this was indeed the case, nodded. “I detect at least a few dozen coming our way.”

Below, the Deathstalker’s corpse hadn’t even finished turning into miasma yet, but all the Arachnecs had definitely felt it the moment their kin died, and this time, they’d reacted.

“Your perceptive talents have reached a truly frightening level,” the Shaman muttered as they all retreated away. “Then again, if you are a lone wanderer who adventures through dangerous territories, having the ability to detect danger from afar must be an invaluable ability.”

“Perception is the best stat,” Jake shrugged with a sly grin.

“Hm?” the Shaman looked at him. “Is that the consensus outside the Boundary? I know it’s a subject the Circle has often discussed, as Free Point distribution is always a massive matter to decide, but so far, the conclusion has been that the choice is best left up to the individual and what suits them best.”

“There are detractors, but in my opinion, Perception is definitely the best stat,” Jake said, not sure how far he could take the joke.

“I see,” the Shaman nodded, and fortunately, he’d definitely seen through Jake’s joke. “With sincerity, I hope you do not find it offensive that I continue to focus on Willpower and Wisdom as-“

“We have incoming,” Jake cut off the Shaman as he noticed that a group of eight Arachnecs had split off from the others and were chasing directly towards Jake and the others.

The Shaman instantly stopped talking, and all five Venusians adopted a serious vibe as Jake relayed what he’d detected.

“Eight in total, six Deathstalkers, and two variants I don’t recognize. One of them appears to be fully covered in flesh, with its upper body consisting of a two-armed growth that’s wielding something resembling a staff. The second one appears to have a large eye on a tendril of sorts rather than an actual upper body.”

Jake’s descriptions were shit, but there were only so many different variants, allowing the Shaman to instantly recognize what they were dealing with.

“A Corpsemender and a Monitor,” the Shaman said with a serious look. “The one with a staff is capable of repairing its kin and summoning undead creatures, while the Monitor is certainly the reason we were spotted. I believe it would agree with you that Perception is the best stat, as that’s its sole specialization. While I’m confident in my ability to obscure myself and my allies, I’m utterly incapable of hiding from the gaze of a Monitor. However, both of these Arachnecs are a lot slower than the Deathstalkers, so we should be able to escape if we-“

“Why would we?” Jake asked as he slowed down. “Not saying you have to fight, but I don’t see why I wouldn't.”

“A battle would be a needless risk and jeopardize our lives,” the Shaman said, visibly confused. “Better to only engage when we have an absolute advantage. The Arachnecs reproduce at a pace a hundredfold our own, so we simply cannot afford such reckless actions.”

That was definitely one big difference between Jake and the Shaman, if not all Venusians. Perhaps due to their heritage as monsters, it was more efficient to just level up while taking advantage of the environment. However, he also understood from a faction’s point of view why the Shaman was reluctant. If what he said was accurate, the Venusians truly couldn’t afford to fight battles like this. While Jake did estimate each frog to be more powerful than the undead spiders, it wasn’t by a huge margin, and he reckoned the Warriors would be equal to, if not lose, a two-versus-one against the Deathstalkers. Based on his own estimate of how powerful each felt, anyway.

“You don’t have to fight,” Jake said in a reassuring voice. “But I will, not because I have to, but because I want to. So keep retreating; I’ll gladly take advantage and ambush them mid-pursuit.”

The Shaman stared at Jake as if something was seriously wrong with him, but ultimately nodded. “Very well, but please promise to retreat if you find yourself in a too perilous situation.”

“No worries, I don’t plan on dying today. Or any day, for that matter,” Jake smiled, giving a final reassuring look as he stopped flying and exited the obscuring barrier created by the Shaman. The five Venusians kept flying, though they did slow down a little, giving Jake the sense that, should he be in big trouble, they still planned on helping him.

A nice, but unnecessary sentiment.

He’d already noticed that while this Monitor had spotted the Venusians, it hadn’t seen Jake, who was using Unseen Hunter. In other words, as they continued chasing towards the Shaman and company, they would pass right under where Jake was waiting in ambush, ready to unleash a nice opening strike.

In fact, Jake’s actions of slowing down the Shaman’s retreat had resulted in the Arachnecs chasing with newfound vigor – a word Jake really wasn’t sure made sense for the undead. In either case, they were definitely motivated now that they were rapidly catching up.

They were still pretty deep within the death domain after having hunted down the Deathstalkers before, and Jake guessed the Arachnecs would stop chasing if the Venusians escaped too far outside the advantageous environment, so this was good for Jake as he started setting up.

Seeing as the Arachnecs were mostly similar, he’d already started working on a Protean Arrow before fully spotting his prey, and it was ready by the time he saw them. The eight B-grades moved together, spearheaded by three Deathstalkers. At the rear were the other three Deathstalkers, and in the middle were the two new variants. Jake quickly Identified both.

[Arachnec Corpsemender – lvl 396]

[Arachnec Monitor – lvl 401]

Their levels weren’t that high compared to the other Arachnecs Jake had killed, and it looked like they shared the same feeble bodies as the rest of their kin, making Jake pretty confident in what he was about to do.

As they drew closer, Jake nocked his Protean Arrow, his first target obvious. One of them was called pretty much the undead equivalent of a healer, and everyone knew that one had to kill the healer first.

Once more, he activated Arcane Awakening at the offensive 50% as he took aim and charged his Arcane Powershot. Once he felt the strain on his body reach its limits, Jake loosed the Protean Arrow down towards the chasing Corpsemender that definitely didn’t look like it expected to get attacked from above mid-pursuit.

Based on how it didn’t react at all in time, Jake was very correct. His arrow flew nearly straight down and struck the Corpsemender in the middle of the Arachnec group, resulting in very much the same as what had happened to the Deathstalkers Jake had struck prior.

The B-grade’s body was torn apart as its entire humanoid portion was obliterated by destructive arcane energy, the arrow continuing down and blowing up its entire front half. Around the Corpsemender, all the other undead stopped, now aware of Jake’s presence and location, though the resulting explosion did instantly force them to spread out to avoid taking damage. Still, they were coming for him imminently.

Jake didn’t pay this any heed as he proceeded to unleash several follow-up arrows. Unlike the Deathstalker, this Corpsemender hadn’t immediately died, but actually started repairing its own body at an insane speed right after being struck. New bone and rotting flesh were sprouting and fighting back against the destructive arcane energy, likely due to some survival skill of the B-grade.

In response, Jake bombarded the Corpsemender with arrows as two Deathstalkers tried to move and defend their healer. At the same time, Jake’s danger sense warned him of an incoming attack as the Monitor below locked in on him.

The Monitor looked like an undead spider with a worm with an eye for a head sprouting from its back, the entire creature looking very “wrong” and stitched together as if someone had just sewn the weird worm creature to an actual undead spider.

This eye-worm evidently had noticeable offenses, as it proceeded to unleash a deep purple, laser-like beam up towards Jake, leaving a profound sense of death in its wake. With his precognitive danger sense, Jake reacted in time and avoided it, but he immediately sensed that getting hit by that beam would be a bad time.

Several more were fired in rapid succession, but Jake dodged them all while flying upwards as he aimed to finish off the Corpsemender as fast as possible. The two Deathstalkers had reached their healer by now and tried to use their bodies to defend the heavily injured B-grade, but they were not designed for defense, allowing Jake to relatively easily make his arrows weave around them and strike the Corpsemender.

His flight upwards was to buy himself a bit more time before the four remaining Deathstalkers reached him. They were all closing in quickly, but fortunately, Jake was faster. With a final trigger of Hunter’s Mark, an arcane flash of light signaled the death of the first B-grade.

*You have slain [Arachnec Corpsemender – lvl 396] – Bonus experience earned for killing an enemy above your level*

Jake didn’t have time to celebrate his success, though, as he still had seven remaining foes to contend with, four of which were already upon him. When the Deathstalkers moved, they seemed to almost fade from existence, using a high-level stealth skill, and coupled with another movement skill that made them move in unpredictable patterns, they were definitely fine-tuned for assassination.

Unfortunately for them, Jake was a nightmare for any would-be assassins who relied on subterfuge. With his sphere, he easily kept track of their invisible forms as they flanked him from four different directions, showing an impressive level of coordination.

Right before they all struck, Jake stepped down and teleported forward as he spun around and launched an Arrow Rain towards them, willing all of them to explode the second they got close to the Deathstalkers. Not with the intent of damaging them, but to buy himself some time to finish off the second-most important target: the Monitor.

Case in point, he had to use One Step again immediately to avoid its eye-laser. These beams were impressively fast, and coupled with six Deathstalkers coming for him, Jake could definitely see how these Arachnecs could be difficult to deal with.

Seeing as this fight was also one Jake had chosen to engage in with the intent of learning more about his new skills, he decided not to hold back. With six Deathstalkers moving like specters through the poison cloud towards him and a laser-shooting spider worm locked on him, Jake took a deep breath as he went all out.

Arcane Awakening was fully unleashed, bathing his body in power as his eyes opened wide. At the same time, his Perception improved as he used Sight of the Boundless Horizon, and it was as if the entire world was filled with more clarity than before. His eyes were on the Monitor as Jake spoke, using his singular skill that required Words of Power to activate.

“Event Horizon.”

For a moment, he glimpsed the end of all things, but there was more than that. Usually, when he used Event Horizon, his target became marked to his sight, which also happened this time around, but that wasn’t the end of it. Instead, the Monitor was also smashed into the ground upon activating his skill, and its surroundings seemed to warp as if its entire body was wrapped by some invisible restriction.

Immediatly Jake knew the source was an effect of Sight of the Boundless Horizon, as per the description.

“May have additional effects when used alongside certain Perception-based skills.”

With his target’s movements severely restricted, Jake unleashed a barrage of arrows down towards the Monitor as it tried to defend itself. A dense sphere of miasma condensed around its body, forming a shield to try to block Jake’s attacks, but its defensive prowess was far from enough.

Dozens of arrows pierced its body before proceeding to explode, sending decaying flesh and bone fragments flying. Jake’s firing speed was sadly not as fast as he would have liked due to six Deathstalkers attacking him, and it was also only now that he truly saw how they attacked.

Their upper bodies, which consisted of a vaguely humanoid bone growth with four arms, had morphed as each of those four arms had grown long, black, scythe-like weapons at their ends, each emanating a powerful sensation of pure death. Along with these four scythes, they also used their legs, wrapped in black energy and functioning like spears that tried to pierce Jake.

Jake relatively easily avoided all their blows, but with six at once, and seeing as he was also trying to attack, he couldn’t dodge everything perfectly. He ended up choosing to take a hit as he raised his leg to block, which proved to be quite a mistake.

The scythe cut straight into his flesh and nearly severed his entire leg, making Jake’s eyes open wide as he was abruptly reminded of the big demerit of using Sight of the Boundless Horizon.

“While using Sight of the Boundless Horizon, the hunter’s physical and mental defensive stats will be severely hampered.”

All the extra Toughness and durability Jake had gained after his evolution were rendered entirely null when using this skill, making him likely even more of a glass cannon than before. However, despite the downside, Jake had no desire to deactivate Sight, as the damage increase it provided was simply too good. Besides, he would just have to dodge everything thrown at him, and he would be fine.

Despite his injury, and seeing how the Shaman looked about to jump in and try to help, Jake remained entirely calm and used yet another One Step to get away and buy himself some space.

It allowed him to launch several more arrows towards the Monitor that tried to counterattack or defend itself, but the creature was effectively a high-damage moving turret, and with the restrictive effect of Sight-empowered Event Horizon, it was really just a sitting duck that could do nothing but hope its six companions could take down Jake before it died.

Spoiler: they couldn’t.

After a use of Pride and filling the entire area with arcane explosions, Jake bought himself enough time to fire a just-conjured Protean Arrow down at the Arachnec Monitor, and following yet another Hunter’s Mark detonation, the second B-grade of this fight fell, reduced to nothing but a pile of bones and decaying flesh.

*You have slain [Arachnec Monitor – lvl 401] – Bonus experience earned for killing an enemy above your level*

With it dead, Jake turned and watched as the six Deathstalkers had surrounded him once more, all of them practically uninjured. Seeing them all in formation and about to strike, Jake couldn’t help but feel in a good mood as he put away his bow and spread out his arms, a katar appearing in each hand. With a big grin on his face, he invited them to dance as they all charged.

Finally Katars!!! Yes!!!!

These frogs aren't really aren't ready to see Jake go ham

joker ledger

The frogs seeing the primal hunter in action and the poor spiders getting the genocide treatment. It on them for being higher level and give good experience, also for rushing at Jake and being filthy spiders. I'm with Jake on this one, spiders are creepy buggers.

Bookb0y

So who thinks Jake’s nephew is going to pick up the bow like his favorite pink ranger?

Ben Cox

Yeah Jake's new friends are totally unprepared to see what the peak of big game hunters at his level does to enemies "only" 40 or 50 levels above him. Tyftc

Fylbrom

The Frogs are probably thinking to themselves, "it's a good thing we were friendly to him" right about now. They led this bloke straight through their city, and they had no idea. I have no further doubts about Jake having any issues with the Venusians from here on out. And im gonna look really stupid if the Zog-man decides that the Council of frogs makes my theory bullshit instead. 🤣 Lmao

khielira

I have a feeling the shaman is going to be like 'yeah you are strong but crazy and are the others in the outside world like you?" And Jake would be kinda depends. Jake definitely is the high risk high rewards sort but not everyone in the multiverse is like Jake. Hopefully Jake drops that he is a outlier in the fact the he has skills that allows him to punch above his weight when fighting, so the poor froggies can stop worrying that Jake will get himself killed. I don't think that they would have believed him before seeing him in action

John Durrett

Good question. No idea if the planet itself is still there or is now just a poison mist barrier to a private world.

khielira

Nope, it will be an interesting conversation after the fight though

John Durrett

Some of us are natural night owls, even so it comes as a pleasure to read them before going to bed. :)

John Durrett

Even if I made it to Primal level - I'd be sorely tempted to come back and kill every single one of those nasty undead spiders.

khielira

What do you mean? It's now the door to a minor world that's be growing for much longer than when the start of the 93th universe initiation as evidenced by how many high rank B grades and there is at least one A grade probably more.

Ray Light

Restructured as a doorway to a Minor World.

Avery

It turned into a minor world full of frog people and spider people.

Xander

TFTC :) Suggested edits: "probably *better even* from the " should be "even better" I think. Youre saying that the situation Jake finds himself in is preferable to his expected outcome, right? “Not saying you have to fight, but I don’t see why I *would*.” Should be "wouldn't" since the sentence refers to fighting rather than it refering to fleeing. "A battle would be a needless risk and *jeopardize* death" should be "jeopardize our lives" "The Shaman ** at Jake as if something" missing word "looked" "as he stopped flying and *allowed* exited the obscuring barrier" extra word. "a word Jake really wasn’t sure *if* made sense for the undead" extra word. " Jake’s danger sense warned him of incoming *danger* as" repetitive . I suggest "an incoming threat" instead.

Ray Light

Against the universal laws (even though it's currently separated as a MW). So Jake wouldn't because it's not his mojo to kill anything lower than his level unless it's purely out of self defence.

Wouldn't that mean the primal event wouldnt really move closer unless Jake stays on Venus for a bunch of years? Because if the theory that Venus transformed into a minor world at integration and theres even A grades, the time dilation must be insane. Also I feel villy would notice if it was in dilation

although, he does have a point. i'm sure we can all think of an example where dilation refers to an... expansion. so if you stretch a unit of time it is longer than a normal unit. thus we should probably refer to areas where time moves faster compared to outside as a time puckering

Ok. I have some bones to pick. 1. What happened with the Void kidnappers? 2. Why are you taking a break from the Seat of the Prima? 3. I can’t be the only one who wants to know more about Villy’s wife and child. 4. The First Sage??? 5. The future World Wonder? What happened to following up on all those threads? Frogs? A- grades vs Jake? Only if he can somehow beat them. I think I’m gonna take a break from this series for a while. Shirtaloon is writing again, and though Dakota/ Sunrise CV is slower, he’s still going strong with his characters. See ya.

Jansemon

bro wants to much at once wth? i like it when its not so packed and fast paced

Jansemon

i dont think villy said it was shit, he said it was shit compared to the real thing, its still mythic and already op

levon

Yes. But this feels like filler. Many arcs feel like filler now.

Kevin Watson

what are you asking for? for every plot thread to start getting unraveled?

OMD what a cliffhanger. Thanks Zogarth

Rewdan

That’s when Jake introduces Villy and they all become members of the order and help Jake take over the world wonder

Perren D'Wolff

I like the ebb and flow. Sometimes it's fast paced and frantic, other times it a chillaxing slice of life. I wouldn't say he has it down perfectly, but he does do a damn fine job with it. Also we all knew there had to be some kinda filler while we waited for Jakes turn at the event while the admin wannabe's fought for a seat at the kiddy table.

Jimbo

He's killing time until Prima starts. Jake expects to get teleported out, directly to the Seat. They're in the preliminary rounds now, which Jake can skip.

Jimbo

Would a planetary sacrifice ritual work against a Minor World? Asking for a friend.

J

please call the next chapter of the 50 legged tango

J

to be honest, I don’t see this as filler like some of it is but a lot of this is gonna be Jake testing out his abilities in B grade. And I don’t think this is insignificant to the main story thread. As once his minor world opens up, it could create a huge potential threat for earth with the unknown gods supporting beast to create turmoil on earth at the moment. Not to mention all that stuff is already set up first Sage that’s not gonna come up again until he’s 450 I think. Future world wonder we already got information on the timeline of that one year and it starts so probably say another 5 to 8 chapters of this Venus arc with the frogs and I’ll be back to the world wonder that’s less than a fortnight bud. for the void kidnappers, I can only theorize from just my own personal writing experience that you may have wanted to add threads in previous chapters but felt like that would just take away from other things that were happening and he was probably gonna drop like a full two or three chapter arc where villy is explaining all of that. Which I also think is gonna line up with the entire system event and world wonder. It’s been hinted at that this world wonder is very strange.

KenTX325

It says he is more vulnerable to mental attacks and gaze is a two way attack. Might be an issue.

Gumwadd

Your bones suck. If it was at your pace the book would suck.

Jansemon

either it wouldnt, it would have a max range or everything dies

Lemonsqueezy

We are looking at two scenarios here and they might both happen. 1) Jake commits another genocide and kills a significant amount of these Arachne. 2) The Venusians realize the true power of Jake and become very scared of who he is. This would either get the A-Grade involved kicking Jake out or trying to kill him, or trying to ally with him because of his power and possible/probable connections.

Jansemon

its not time dilation they are in a minor world that existed long before the 93 was integrated and now theres just an entrance there because the system found it funny. also he wouldnt miss the system event cause the system would just pull him out, hopefully

Stoney

I think the simple fact that this is an expansive world and coming across new allies and worlds is a good thing. It also helps set up potential future storylines. In this instance, you can easily argue that it also helps Jake get used to his new abilities/power e.g. he forgot the drawback of even horizon. Which is mainly coz he hadn't used it in battle iirc, he has said that he learns better in battle right? Also, this does not feel like a full arc, maybe a mini one which as it's set up to be just before the prima event makes sense. Finally, we're 1298 chapters in are you not aware of the writing style by now?

Lemonsqueezy

The void kidnappers will be something mentioned occasionally. I am expecting it to be a major arch as Jake approaches or even becomes A-Grade if not even higher. It involves very powerful entities that Jake cannot currently combat, if Zog deals with it now it will be something handled by the Primordials rather than Jake. The SoTEP event is currently in the pre-stage. Jake already has a guaranteed seat so he will be involved when it reaches phase 2. Which is 100-ish days away. Villy's wife and child is something that continues to not be discussed. It is a sore topic for Villy and he doesn't want to discuss it. Whatever happened to them is what caused Villy to go into hiding for so long. I am sure more details will be told as the story progresses. TFS is something that is mostly brought up when Jake has his visions as he levels up. I am sure once Jake reaches level 400 or so we will get some more lore about him. The future world wonder is related to SoTEP event. The event has to end before we get any more information regarding it. As we advance in grades things take longer to develop. We are now talking about hundreds if not thousands of years before Jake gets to A-Grade. So what we are going through now is some slice-of-life chapters. There are going to be more and more of these as Jake advances through the grades. Zog either has to pass this time with montages, time-skips, or slice-of-life stories. We cannot have non-stop major arcs and fights. Jake has to level his profession, lore has to be developed, sociopolitical system has to be told. Readers have wanted Jake to visit the other planets in our solar system. Venus being a minor world is just a way to do that. If Zog just made Venus keep the same qualities as the original there wouldn't really be anything of interest there for Jake to explore. The only other option Zog would have is just to fast forward the 100ish days until phase 2 of SoTEP started. This Venus excursion is pretty much Jake testing out his B-Grade abilities. Anyway, I can understand taking a break for awhile while Zog gets some chapters out and gets to the part of the story that is more interesting to you. I dealt with this when I was reading DoTF, there were just these very long sections that talked about nothing of importance and the story really wasn't advancing at a level I liked. Like several chapters just describing an environment, or the long sections where the MC was deciding his next skill. Which was made even worse when the MC ultimately become two separate people. The whole forced war thing the author did destroyed the interest I had in the story because it just introduced even more long sections of describing environments and situations. I stopped at book 11 and have never gone back. The author of HWFWM getting sick and not writing for over a year now made me lose interest in that story. Several Reddit stories have also done things like this to me. I used to read several HFY stories on Reddit, but many authors would only post 1 - 3 chapters a week and the story wasn't progressing very well. I often take 6-12 month breaks from these stories and then come back and catch up. Enjoy your break, hope to see you back in a couple weeks/months.

definitelynotbrjenness

odds on that being shirtaloon stirring up shit? good to hear he's writing again.

is exterminating gross undead spiders really a ware crime?

Jansemon

idk probably physics before the system came?

Jansemon

true, but he wont need to really go ham unless its a late B or early A

Zog follows a very distinct pattern in his writing. I most closely relate it to how anime is laid out, especially DBZ. You have a major arcs e.g Sayijan, Namek, Cell, and Buu sagas, which you can compare to the grades in this story. Inside these arcs are smaller arcs or stepping stones to the main battle. Then sprinkled in are slice-of-life stuff, lore dumps, and character development. Then we have the down phase were the aftermath and clean up happens. For DBZ specifically you have a brief mention of a new foe. Goku and friends train, some small stories are told. Goku comes back with new strength, fights minor foes as he tests his new power. Goku fights and equal if not stronger opponent. End of fight has Goku reaching an even higher power. Then we get a lot of peace and slice-of-life stuff. For TPH we start with Jake learning his new power level and strength (a lot of slice-of-life here), a new nemesis is introduced (in most cases it was mentioned in the previous grade), Jake fights and gains level and power, Jake fights the main protagonist and wins. Jake gains new power and then the arc winds down as a new status quo is set. We then get a lot more slice-of-life stories and maybe a few minor arcs. Jake gets reaches his new grade and the process starts again. This type of pattern was fast in the beginning because Jake could quickly level and advance in grade. Now though, we are looking at a long period of time elapsing before we get to A-Grade. Reaching B-Grade took about 691 chapters. Jake has to get another 150 level and his leveling speed is dropping significantly. We are probably looking at an equal if not significantly more amount of chapters before A-Grade. Really depends on how much time Zog skips. Enough of my rambling, sorry.

Lemonsqueezy

Two chapters ago had Jake telling the A-Grade oracle that there are levels beyond A-Grade, but he doesn't tell them about creatures that have reached Godhood or the primordials. Just hints that there are levels significantly above what they thought was possible. I don't think it really matters, because I do not think these creatures can leave the minor world.

micah Hogan

Thank you for the chapter!

Lemonsqueezy

I think he wants something specific to be talked about and is getting frustrated that it isnt being mentioned. I get it, but I really don't want this story to be rushed. The faster we rush Jake to godhood the quicker this story ends permanently.

Lemonsqueezy

Zog really only does that (from my experience) for main side characters like Carmen, TSS, and Miranda, or a new opponent for Jake.

Lemonsqueezy

It is the nature of Jake, he only really gets experience when he fights really powerful foes. Level doesn't even really matter, they have to be a challenge for Jake or the system doesn't really give him much. Also, leveling as you move up grades just takes a long time. Could be thousands of years passing before Jake gets to A-Grade. It took about 690 chapters for Jake to go from C to B grade. That is over half of all the chapters that have been written just for C-Grade.

Lemonsqueezy

There will be some uber powerful Arachne that will challenge Jake in the next chapter or two.

D

Yea I know Zog joked about it taking 5 years of writing for him to get to A grade but come on that’s would be nuts

Lemonsqueezy

Not really a transport, more of a locking them down in their current location. It limits the battle field and is inescapable. The world around him is still there and running, but no one can do anything about it until either Jake or his target are dead.

Lemonsqueezy

We are talking about an omnipotent being (the System). It can create whatever it wants to. Look up the Last Thursday theory. This minor world could follow that. Everything was just created in an instant. All the history, memories, and everything was placed there when the system integrated the 93rd Universe. Hell it could have all been created as soon as Jake entered it. To these frogs it has been hundreds of thousands of years, but in actuality it has only been a couple decades or even a couple hours.

Josie

You think B grade so far has been filler? Oh boy, just wait till you find out how C grade went lol. Bye👋

Elijah Soleil

I believe these creatures have been given the same restrictions as the other Universes. Essentially only early B grades or lower can leave the Minor world right now but once the 93rd opens up to more powerful creatures they will be able to leave.

Corey S

Yeah, it doesn’t mean it’ll happen. Just that I want it😂

Benjamin Mages

Technically the level of challenge is not all that matters, the level of the opponent matters significantly separate from the challenge. Remember how many levels he got by one-shotting super weak B-grades back in the Pantheon of Life? They were weak and no challenge but at the end of the day they were still B-grades, so they gave noticeable amounts of exp.

"What about those things that are actively unfolding in the series and are constantly being built up?" Oh you mean the things literally in the works? Lmao the exalted prima is within 100 days of normal time flow... I definitely just got trolled lmao

definitelynotbrjenness

hey now, wait a gosh darn second... ages and periods of time are often discussed in terms of "years", but in a multiverse, what the heck is a year? that's it. story is ruined for me. I won't read another chapter... stop cheering, that's mean!!!! i'm serious....I will not read another chapter until 3 o clock tomorrow morning. i'm out. uh, Just to clarify, I didn't say I wouldn't finish rereading this chapter.

J

Hahahah yeah

Josie

I just realized the freaky dream i had last night was heavily inspired by this minor world. Burn it all down, Jake. Just burn it all down 🔥

That one, right there.

Now Jake I believe this falls under the same category as the mushroom worshiping monsters in that dungeon under your house with the fungalmancers in it. It is disturbing enough that genicide is the only answer.

DefinitelyNotMinaga

It seems patience isn't a concept that is part of your path. Have fun with that.

DefinitelyNotMinaga

That was pretty funny xD made me think if it'd been a Mushroom race he wouldn't have even considered not committing genocide. He would've just done it.

Biggy smalls

They'd Laugh until he beamed down a Villy Blessing and Villy puts the fear of god into them through their connection. Or if Jake were to put on the Aura of Villy like he did in front of Artemis and FK in the POL. They'd drop to their knees.

OnEyeDevil

i had the same thought of why its measured in years but i found my peace that its written in a time unit familiar with the one reading the message and it gets rounded...thats at least my theory

Cue Heretic-Chosen’s Invocation 😇

Kevin Watson? Do you know A Joe Watson? Continuum? Friend of mine from a ways back.

Awesome 😎 Tftc 🍻

Jake's universal communication more than likely actively changes the time frames

I think Jake’s aversion to spiders is an interesting touch. Some studies have suggested that fear of spiders (and snakes) is an inborn quality of humans. It comes pre installed

Elijah Belfer

I genuinely believe that Jake could kill something 100 levels higher than him if it was a shitty variant, or even like level 485 ish Hunting Ground creature(like those shitty B-grades he fought before evolving)

Sonny Herman

I always wondered where jakes eyes are looking in a fight, is he acting normal or is he all cross eyed becsause hes looking with his sphere?
