The first few days of the event were truly unfortunate for all those who found themselves positioned next to powerful factions or galaxies with incredibly strong individuals. What’s more, while the system had certainly done some “seeding,” it didn’t entirely work, especially not for the galaxies that had an outsider come, join as an Assistant, and ultimately ended up the Chief Administrator.

These – on the surface – weak Territories would be placed in the middle of other weaklings, only to absolutely dominate their surroundings. However, there were also some cases where they were placed next to a powerful faction. Their seeding was low, after all.

That led to situations where forces believed they could easily sweep their surroundings, only to encounter an insurmountable wall of resistance. A resisting faction that, instead of being consumed, changed the roles around and became the invading force, threatening even a faction that believed they would have an easy start to the second phase.

Jake and his Territory did not encounter a situation like this, though he would have definitely loved to, but some certainly did, creating quite the upset.

--

“All dead?” the Master Templar asked into the communication device that the one he’d put in charge of logistics had purchased from the Territory Beacon. “What direction? I’ll head over immediately.”

The Master Templar, who had just destroyed a Territory Beacon and helped expand his Territory, motioned for all his fellow Church members to gather around, as it seemed they would have to postpone their conquest.

At the beginning of the second phase, four teams had been formed and sent in different directions to conquer as many Territories as quickly as possible. The first two days had proceeded smoothly, and while some resistance had been met, they had suffered no significant losses and destroyed over a dozen Beacons.

However, now it appeared that a force had emerged capable of mustering resistance. The Master Templar knew that the team that had fallen was by far the weakest and had already suffered a few minor losses, but they were still more than capable of purging the wastrels that dared stand in the way of the Holy Church.

No matter. The Master Templar was not worried in the slightest. He was not a being to be trifled with, after all, and after his recent promotion and being made the Chosen of a high-tier god of the Holy Church, who would dare stand against him?

He had ridden the momentum of getting top 1000 on the Nevermore Leaderboards and only continued to grow his power and potential until reaching this point. That was also why he had been given so much responsibility, especially after successfully conquering his entire galaxy before this odd system event.

“Hm?” the Master Templar asked as he got an update. “They dare head into our Territory? It was a monster faction, right? Is it the United Tribes daring to stand against us this early?”

The foolishness and arrogance of monsters were well known, and this was also why they tended not to fit well within the Church. They were far too individualistic and selfish, following their natures rather than adhering to the teaching of those wiser than themselves.

As for how he would gain information on this enemy, well, it was rather simple. Dying within the simulation meant getting kicked out of it, which in turn meant being returned to the Seat of the Exalted Prima.

All they had to do was make someone leave the simulation and speak to those killed to get information on who had slain them. It almost seemed like a flaw in design, but the Master Templar did not see any reason or need to question anything like that. He merely followed the advice of those the Church had deemed more competent in the field of strategy, fully aware he held his current position due to his personal power.

It didn’t take long before the Master Templar got a response that made him raise an eyebrow.

“That thing? Hmm, I see. I’m on my way back,” he answered, realizing that they would certainly need him now that he knew what they were dealing with.

It didn’t take him long to return, and after fully recovering, he waited for the arrival of the invading force. He disliked the inefficiency of merely sitting around alongside the most powerful combatants of his Territory, but they unfortunately had to. He wasn’t that worried, though.

The Administrators he had brought along were all experts from across his galaxy, all of whom had seen the glory of the Holy Church and joined, only becoming stronger for it. They were a united force with more than fifty expert B-grades on their side; meanwhile, there was only one opponent worth worrying about. An opponent, the Master Templar, believed he could face himself if need be. In fact, he found the prospect of doing so appealing.

Not many could say they had slain a Unique Lifeform, after all. Though it was a pity that it would only be within a simulated world. Unique Lifeforms were beings that should not exist, after all. They were inherently corrupt, unable to accept the grace of the divine and unable to ever set foot within the Holyland. He nearly pitied them, but all had their fate. Like the Risen, the fate of Unique Lifeforms was either to be purged, though in extremely rare cases, they did get the opportunity to truly dedicate themselves to the Church, despite not even being Baptized, trying to make up for their own inadequacies through constant actions that proved their faith.

This Unique Lifeform would not even get that opportunity, though. It had slain the members of the Church and was an enemy. Plus, from what the Master Templar knew, this particular monster was close to a person that many within the Church considered an antagonist.

“The invaders should be visible soon,” a member of the Church in charge of monitoring the odd radar building said. “There are a total of fifteen individuals, all confirmed B-grades, led by the Unique Lifeform.”

“Let us meet them on the field,” the Master Templar said as he stood up and motioned for the other B-grades to gather around. “Fighting at our Territory Beacon would be a needless risk.”

If the battle dragged out or the other side had unknown means capable of breaking through their defenses, it would be an unforgivable sin for the Master Templar to lose his Territory Beacon this early on in the event. Hence, he judged it wiser to face his opponent out in the open. Not that it would matter much, as they had not used Prima Credits on any defenses besides the barrier.

Instead, the Master Templar had decided to invest only in the radar building and a building that he believed would make it possible to contact other Territories belonging to the Holy Church. That, along with a few vehicles to speed up their expansion. Defense had never been on his mind, as he didn’t believe anyone would dare invade the Holy Church, and if they were so foolish, they would simply handle them.

“Be careful,” the chief strategist said before the Master Templar headed out. “It’s still a Unique Lifeform, and they’re all known to have their trump cards. Even if you kill it, losing you or too many of the others in the process would be an unacceptable outcome.”

“Do not worry,” the Master Templar said. “I do not plan on giving the monster any quarter, and will ensure my own safety as well as the safety of all those who’ve put their trust in me.”

“Then I can only eagerly await the Chosen’s victorious return,” the strategist bowed as he placed his hands together in prayer. The Master Templar nodded as he motioned yet again, as they set off into the sky and toward their opponents.

It did not take long for the wastrels to enter his vision. They were all flying together, not even having brought any vehicles to speed up their flight or anything to assist them in what lay ahead. All the approaching figures were monsters, except for two, and it was only now that he realized who they were.

“The Pantheon of Life has gotten bolder these days,” he said with a frown. “Rather than tend to their roots and continue to strengthen what they already have, just like their Primordial, they instead lust for more. Foolish.”

What’s more, their foolishness only grew, as when they got closer, all but one stopped flying and instead retreated back, allowing only their leader to continue. The Master Templar considered whether they were perhaps trying to negotiate, at which point he would have to pay them the respect owed to another Primordial’s faction.

However, as the Unique Lifeform unleashed its aura, it became clear it had not come to negotiate. The Master Templar felt relief at this knowledge, as he had no desire to speak with such a creature if he could avoid it, and instead used Identify, confirming the identity of his opponent. Turned out they were the same level, so his opponent should hopefully be a good whetstone.

[Golden Forest King – lvl 353]

From the unleashed aura, the Master Templar had to admit that his opponent was stronger than expected, especially for someone who, according to their intel, had been nearly destroyed by a False God in C-grade, after which it had to spend a long time recovering. Chances also were that such injuries would have left lasting damage to its Records, so while it was a Unique Lifeform, it was expected to be on the weaker end. This theory was further reinforced by the Unique Lifeform having no notable achievements since its recovery.

“Engage as one, let’s finish this quickly,” the Master Templar said as he drew his sword. As he did so, the world was filled with radiance, the blinding light only intensifying as he swung his blade toward his approaching opponent, seeing no need to give his foe the first move.

At the same time, the ten priests with him started using their magic to further strengthen his body, making his armor gleam golden as his aura spiked even higher. He also unleashed his own boosting skill, empowering the sword slash significantly as the Unique Lifeform responded by raising its ivory claw.

That’s when something odd happened. A faint golden pulse was released, warping everything as the sword slash seemed to curve and bend before breaking apart, scattering wisps of light everywhere. With its other hand, the Unique Lifeform pointed towards their group.

Through the telepathic link with the others, the Master Templar gave the order to defend, and just in time, as three warriors moved in front, right as the attack arrived. The invisible blast of force they knew the creature was capable of unleashing knocked them all back as the priests moved to heal and assist everyone by casting protective magic, primarily with the intent of shielding everyone’s souls.

It was known that this Forest King – formerly known as the Fallen King – possessed four types of magic. Force, Gold, Soul, and a nobility-based one. The Gold and nobility concepts were on the vaguer side, but the Force and Soul ones were easy enough to understand and appeared to be the dominant forms of attack, with the other two concepts serving to empower either Force or Soul attacks.

Intending to pressure his opponent, the Master Templar moved in for the attack as he turned into a beam of holy light and appeared right in front of the Unique Lifeform a moment later.

The Master Templar’s blade, bathed in radiant light, descended toward the Forest King with force capable of sundering continents. But before it could strike, shimmering magical barriers erupted around the Unique Lifeform, layers of gold-tinged energy and twisting force interlocking with one another. The sword met the barrier, sending arcs of light splintering across the battlefield as space warped. The barrier seemed to bend reality under the pressure, yet despite it all, the Forest King’s defense held as it didn’t even move.

Undeterred, the Master Templar pressed forward, channeling even more holy power into his sword. The barrier rippled and began to crack under the assault, even as much of the energy infused into his attacks was deflected, dispersing holy light into the surroundings. The priests in the rear maintained their enchantments, several of them chanting in tandem as they prepared a large spell while under the defense of five warriors. Yet the Forest King stood unyielding behind his defenses, the two wisps of energy within the mask staring back with a look of challenge and amusement.

Unique Lifeforms are indeed Unique Lifeforms, the Master Templar admitted as he took a step back, realizing that his attempt to break the barrier through brute force wouldn’t get him anywhere.

Seeing the opening, the Forest King launched a blast of force that the Master Templar dodged as he raised a hand toward the sky. Holy power channeled through his being as he called upon the might of the divine.

“Judgment.”

A beam of solid holy light descended from above, completely covering the Unique Lifeform. The Master Templar didn’t expect this blow to do much damage, but he did plan on it buying him an opportunity to follow up.

Raising his blade again, he took a deep breath as swirling light embraced the sword. It spun around it at incredible speeds before expanding, transforming his blade into a drill-like lance of intense holy energy.

At the same time, his fellow Templars moved, having waited for their opportunity. They had surrounded the Unique Lifeform, and as one, pointed their swords toward their opponent as they unleashed their own attacks.

The Master Templar also shot forward into the holy beam, full of momentum. He saw the Unique Lifeform within waiting, responding solely to his attack as it moved for the first time to meet his blow.

A golden claw met the holy sword a moment later; their clash scattering the beam as the air shook and the ground more than a kilometer beneath them cracked open from the impact. At the same time, the attacks from the other Templars arrived, but several barriers of golden energy sprang up to block them, as the Unique Lifeform seemed only focused on the Master Templar.

Pushing forward, the Master Templar grimaced as he unleashed another burst of power, gaining purchase as the golden claw cracked, and with another explosion, the Unique Lifeform was blasted backward, his ivory claw and even some of his arm now full of fractures glowing with holy light.

The Master Templar breathed heavily, but still pressed forward. Unfortunately, he was met with a powerful blast that pushed him back, and the Unique Lifeform also retreated slightly as it looked at its injuries.

“You surpass my expectations, even though I had expected the Holy Church to be an annoying opponent,” the Forest King spoke as it stopped retreating. “Though your means seem rather limited. Also, the noise surrounding us is starting to be a bother, so allow me to show you something.”

Raising its still uninjured arm, the Unique Lifeform continued.

“Being a Unique Lifeform means that your Path is set, that your magic is defined from birth. Yet I didn’t feel like I truly realized myself before now. That I hadn’t fully grown into my potential, more than likely due to certain limiting factors I’ve now freed myself from. Though in retrospect, I believe these limitations only ended up making me stronger.”

Letting the Unique Lifeform talk perhaps seemed unwise, but the Master Templar didn’t feel the movements of magic, and behind him, his priests were chanting, and the Templars were also preparing themselves for a joint attack, seeing that many individual attacks had proven ineffective. Time was on their side, so he was fine with having the monster monologue.

However, he came to realize that perhaps this had been a mistake, as an intense burst of energy suddenly emanated from the Unique Lifeform. He was certain it had already used some boosting skill before, but this somehow felt like a second one.

“Force. Gold. Soul. King. Those are what made up my being. Force is power, Gold is stability of form, Soul is what bridges the gaps and binds them together... but my identity as King always felt lacking. Unrecognized.”

Above in the sky, space shivered and swirled as something started to take form. A faint outline appeared, filling the Master Templar’s entire field of vision, stretching for hundreds of kilometers in every direction.

“Yet the answer was simple. There for me to merely grasp when I regained my true self and actualized what I am upon my evolution.”

The golden claw on the Fallen King started glowing with more intense light than ever, and at the same time, something manifested above. The Master Templar’s eyes opened wide as he realized he was looking at a massive claw.

“To be a King is not a burden. Not a privilege. It’s my birthright. To stand above everything else is merely part of what I am, and with that, I rightfully claim...”

At once, the entire claw fully solidified as all the mana in their surrounds was dragged in as if it were a black hole, empowering it with an incredible amount of energy as it descended with the King’s final word.

“Authority.”

Finally, the Master Templar was shaken out of his stupor as he yelled loudly.

“Full focus on defense!”

The sheer pressure as the golden claw descended stopped his allies from moving. It wasn’t merely the aura of a powerful attack, either, but an actual physical pressure trying to bring them down as the Unique Lifeform had taken control of all the mana in their surroundings.

We were wrong.

Looking at the claw descending, the Master Templar finally realized that he had been the foolish one.

It is not weakened, but far more dangerous than our intel indicates.

Lifting his blade, he shot upwards toward the massive golden claw as he yelled, infusing his sword with yet another burst of power. A massive blast wave of crescent holy light clashed with the massive claw as the world was consumed by the powers of holy light and golden force.

That day, the Holy Church lost thirty-two of its B-grades, with the rest forced to retreat under the leadership of the Master Templar, who also had to abandon his Territory Beacon, which was promptly broken by the Unique Lifeform.

It was the first major loss suffered by one of the biggest factions in the multiverse, but it would be far from the last, as there were many powerful individuals found in otherwise low-seeded Territories... a fair number of them courtesy of the utterly anomalous planet known as Earth.

Oof can’t wait to see a spar between Jake and the forest king if the king tries to use authority I feel like bloodline shenanigans will ensue

SetherAedekae

Authority over natural mana? King is broken fr

Aldrasak

Ok this chapter was fire.. my golden tree aura farming Can't wait for the old man to aura farm too

Rahsheem Reid

Tftc!! So earth is about to have a Battle Royale after squishing everyone else? I still think the monk gets to the end game.

Fyrtue

Yes. This is the kind of chapter I was hoping for from this event.

Nathan Holliday

I have more fun reading about the others utterly dominating now days than I do with Jake.

Daniel Brian

When I realized who he'd be fighting, I laughed out loud and said "You are so fucked!"🤣

Fyrtue

10% is a lot considering how many galaxies are in the universe. My guess is that the big factions will still have some representatives reach the end.

Mitha

I was wondering if Sylphie is participating in the event as well. The last sentence gives me hope that the murderbirb is happily murdering away as well.

Biggy smalls

That was Dope. Love the Earth Baddies. Maybe I might be all alone in this opinion but I find it more interesting to follow the others during this event. I already know Jake's number one. I'm more curious to see where the other main characters place in the hierarchy.

Unwillingmainer

King's back baby. And he is stronger than ever.

Cyranosaurus

Nice! Go King go!!! Loved the sidebar POV!!! Been rooting for the king now that he is free!

Aldrasak

Please how do I rejoin the discord? I was hacked But I've secures my account but the link on Zogarths bio is not working

Cyranosaurus

Leave no typo unpunished 😂

Eastbound monk

I'm sooo looking forward to seeing a bunch of earth ppl just dominate this event.

Rahsheem Reid

Agreed. I think the ending faction will have to fight the exalted prima. Much like how they are doing now against each other.

Gavin Smith

Imagine if the Forest King could receive a primordial’s true blessing. That would be 5 people from Earth with the highest blessings from some of the most powerful gods.

djthomp

Nice to see the King finally get to strut his stuff. Interesting to learn that he's with someone from the Pantheon of Life. That makes me wonder if they managed to get Dina into the 93rd in time for the administrator candidate challenges or if it's just an indication the King went to one of their galaxies as a plan to become its chief administrator.

Loststar7

All hail The King 👑. Thanks Zogarth, you did not disappoint. It was a very competetent chapter.

Did… did he just say respect my authoritah?

even so which of them would really help him? maybe the star titan because they are both Unique creatures but other then that non fit the bill

Morazain

Let the curb-stomping montage begin. With different flavours of flex.

R Mac

I wonder where the earth baddies rank in comparison to each other. Sword saint, king, carmen, sylphie, Caleb, Arnold, Miranda, Scarlett, William, Eron, sandy, etc

Dhia

i want to see the other people’s performance, like how the hell could sylphie become a chief administrator? is she gonna flex her green vest hard enough for all of them to be rizzed up by her?

Dhia

and if somehow in the future Sylphie gets bagged by someone how would jake react? what about her parents?

zran

She does, like the rest, she wasnt on earth when the first part of the event was about to start

Dan

I wonder if our gang is gonna ally once the culling phase is over and everything escalates. I feel like they won't, because Jake is gonna want actual competition, and the other geniuses of 93 are his best bet for a challenge during this event... plus they probably want the challenge, too

CT

Hail to the king baby! Next up Sword Saint doing cool elder swordsman things and Sylphie being murderbird she is. Last but not least Vespy zerg rushing with gazillion soldiers.

Rick Lehmann

Trying and failing to make the quote from the Transformers movie fit…”Me Grimlock, me KING!” Maybe…ME KING!!

Darshar Griffonmane

Man, You know that Jake and the Sword Saint are going to use this simulated contest to have another fight at some point. This hexagon map is so freaking huge, going to be a lot of great battles! tyftc

Meadow

We know Sylphie has Authority of Wind, so I wonder what the King has

Raymond Whitehead

I do think its funny, I was just wondering if the forest king was in here while reading the first part of the chapter. Very nice looking forward to how this plays out

Xksi

She is 🤘🏻

Wselby64

Have i remembered wrong or is it a typo I thought the king was now called the 'golden' forest king? Also really excited for this arc and I feel like out of most of jake companions jake is at the biggest disadvantage I think this will be a serious struggle for him with the lack of certain leadership and strategy skills compared to the people like the king and vesperia, it's a good chance for Miranda to step up and show what she is capable of though

Wselby64

Not sure on the ranking but really excited to see what Arnold cooks up i think he could be a serious competitor in this kind of trial

Fore stumbler

Arnold is not there. He is not in the trial

Fore stumbler

I this he authority is over an area. As a king he has dominion over an area. And that area is wherever he happens to be standing at any given time.

Cory S.

I too would like some chapters of all the other big names as we get to the main competition. Sweet 16, great 8, fantastic 4, then see Jake and whomever gets to the final round

Vega

Great chapter, thanks! Hoping to see Vesperia and/or Sylphie too, would love a POV from one of the beasts / non-enlightened participants.

Esch

IIRC Unique Lifeforms can give blessings but can't receive them with the only exception being Minaga whose Path is so broken that the sustém prevents him from giving blessings as well.

C0bra$

Thank u for the story

Rewdan

I’m looking forward to The Monk vs The Sword Saint

Rewdan

I’m hoping that tomorrow we read about SS and then Vespa and then the little murder bird.

definitelynotbrjenness

if he was he would be my second favorite behind vespy and her pocket army and i'd assume endless empire has more than 1 galaxy.

khielira

Not just the Sword Saint but all of his friends/rivals. It's going to be epic to read about a match with King and a few others from Earth.

Rewdan

I agree I’m confident that he called The Golden Forest King. May be he changed it

Rewdan

Hopefully we’ll read about how awesome you are as well.

Rewdan

Thanks Zogarth, this is great.

TDMC

Unique life forms can’t get blessings

Josie

I got a little too excited thinking FK decimated 2/3 of all the Holy Church within this event. Though that wouldn't make sense given how massive this faction is, so I guess zog means FK took out 2/3 of the combatants at this beacon

Gavin Smith

Reread my comment. That’s what I said

InfernoDroid

I hope we get more side character POVs during this event as it's looking like it's going to be a cakewalk for Jake until late game.

InfernoDroid

I think it was described as square based, just not equally sized squares

InfernoDroid

Probably the latter at the direction of their primordial as they agreed to back Jake

khielira

That's a given Jake’s Bloodline doesn't like anyone using Authority over it. Both King and Jake will enjoy having a rematch. And Jake won't have to worry about losing a rival and they can put most if not all of their cards out and we will be able to see who's the bigger bad ass of Earth

InfernoDroid

He is being set up as a future arc baddie, not sure if he's going to be next after this arc, or if in traditional Zog style, it's in line 3-5 arcs

Biggy smalls

Can’t forget about Sandy and Jaspy meeting one another in those treasure zones yoinking everything not bolted down.

JayseKnyte

So, is a weakness of the holy church that membership cause extreme arrogance and self righteousness that blinds them to reality or is that just a prerequisite to join.

Elijah Belfer

Nothing like a much too proud Holy Church member getting dunked on

Siethrobo

Probably depends on the sub-faction.

Lemonsqueezy

Nice to see the Forest King again. I also absolutely adore reading about the Holy Church getting put in their place. I have hated them since the tutorial.

Siethrobo

Wonder if we'll see how Carmen, Caleb, Jacob or other "second stringers" are doing during the event.

DeAndrea H

I love reading HC POVs. They are so full of it. It’s even funnier when you remember that the Holy Mother doesn’t actually believe in good and evil. She just uses morality as a tool to gain more followers who give her more power. And this guy being like “this is my time to put down an ally of the wicked Chosen of the Malefic Viper” only to get curb stomped. Somewhere, Jacob is face palming. He keeps telling them to leave Earth alone!

AAAAAHHHHH

Bg3 narrator voice: “Authority.”

Kota

I just thought Identify didn't give him the full and exact title, but only a vague description.

Tanner Lannister

At the start of this I was like wait if Jake doesn’t have much of a squad to help him conquer won’t he be at a disadvantage? Then after this chapter it I’m thinking Jake isn’t even rushing territory he is just sniping other chief admins then sniping the beacon through all the protections

YellowHotDog

Damn! Earth really proving itself as individuals now that the people have spread out. Earth is more then just Jake, even if he’s the one who remained

EmmericH.

A random chosen from a random god from the pathetic holy church couldn't be much more than a random NPC in this story 🤣

Josh Strange

Jasper won't be here. He's not from the 93rd uni. Also, I don't think Sandy gives a rat's ass about the event, it seems too divergent from their Path.

Brock

I wonder if this Master Templar is roughly on par with William? My guess is a bit behind, but given the Holy Church’s ability to support a champion, probably even in this type of fight. Wonder how things will play out when the Wyvern evolves. We’ve only really seen a powerful Miranda defend her domain once. I’m sure we’ll see it happen again soon!

Sylphie

I came and gave 601st like and 101st comment, feels.. weird

TFTC :) Is GFK just going by Forest King now? Since no one else has commented i guess they are. Never feel bad about occasional spelling mistakes. You are writing an enormous amount in a second language and are wildly successful :) Besides, half my suggestions are just to vary the word choice or to correct idioms. Suggested edits: "The *coming* few days *were* truly" Mixed tenses. Either "The coming few days would be" or "The following few days were" " *four* teams had been formed and sent in *four* directions" repetition. Maybe "different" for the second one. "However, now it *appeared* that a force had *appeared* capable " repetition. Maybe replace the second use with "emerged" "more *competeting* in the field of strategy" should be "competent" "Unique Lifeforms were *being* that should not exist" should be "beings" "If the battle dragged *out* or the " should be "on" "to *already* lose his Territory Beacon" oddly worded. "to lose his Territory beacon so early." would be more usual. " *losing* you or too many of the others in the process would be an unacceptable *loss*." repetitive. Suggest ending the sentence "would be unacceptable." instead You use "further" 3 times in 2 sentences, Small rewordings to save this repetition. "as his aura spiked *even further*" just ditch this or maybe change to "to new heights" "skill, *empowering* the sword slash *further*" ditch the last and insert "giving additional power to" or "greatly" "realizing *breaking* the barrier through brute force wouldn’t get him anywhere." should be "trying to break" since actually breaking the barrier would get him somewhere. "it at *incredibly* speeds before" should be "incredible" "responding *only* to his attack as it" this seems odd here. Perhaps "at last responding to" instead "something *started to form*. A faint outline *started to form*," repetition. Ditch the second "Master Templar’s *entire vision*" odd wording. Either "entire field of view" or just ditch "entire" "*empowering* it with an incredible amount of *power*" repetitive. Perhaps replace the first with "filling" or the second with "potential"

Clint

Vesperia won’t be quite as surprising. She’s the lead figure of a peak faction in the whole new universe. Same with Carmen. Sylphie will be hilarious. And I’d really like to see Swordsaint. But hopefully we’ll get all of those and more (like some of the true peak figures we met at Nevermore — the dragon, the devil, the sloth, that ice elemental… and the real top contenders from the Church. And that Monk…)

Clint

I’m expecting Jake and SS to have an all-out duel, where the loser will swear vassalage to the winner. (Just for purposes of this event, of course.) I’d guess that Sylphie and Vespy and King will just agree to an alliance under Jake. No idea what Carmen will do..,

zran

Eh, in this case it was kinda hard, since it means they could lose the beacon(losing them is kinda bad), and besides, we know how full of arrogant people the church is, so having them have some humbling moment is something what jacob could definitelly agree is needed Also the members of the church in general likely are under the belief of "only the chosen of the viper is dangerous, everyonelse is manageable"

Hayden Leech

So FK is representing the pantheon of life eh? Funky

Tanner Lannister

Getting Zerg rushed pov would be fun to show how endless empire operates.

I said this about the last arc, Venus. Excellent arc. But this will probably be more entertaining.

Based on context I think it changed again when he hit B grade and evolved

Brock

The Mother Tree resurrected him. He was a Nevermore Party Member with Dina. This event is built for factions. The only two real options for him is PoL and the Order. Makes way more sense he wants some separation/independence from Jake.

John Durrett

He is Unique - Monster Type, But Path wise - he is also King. FK and POL are aligned in having the HC their Enemy so its more like Allies.

tyftc. "found in otherwise low-seeded Territories" - Because we go for Quality, Not Quantity" - at least Fictionally. :P

You don't have to be a member of the 93rd to participate. Just within the acceptable level range. So the powerhouses who competed in nevermore will participate. I imagine Sandy showed up just in case there was a place for treasure paths like theres. So both Jasper and Sandy should be here somewhere.

exalted prima is a minaga that wanted freedom from the minaga hive mind and agreed to become a bound god.

Random suggedtion... two elves that invited jake to dinner met forest king on earth and artemis and yggy suggested they invite him to help them in a galaxy the pol controls?

Shandlar

So by context, King realized he was weakening himself by empowering gold thr most instead of King the most and evolved away the "golden" during B grade evolution? Gaining an authority like Sylphie in the process? That's awesome if true.

Lambda

That's a great point!

Jamaal Hill

Wondering if Jake will eventually have all out fights with any real life allies did to the fact that they're protected by the simulation like he did with the sword sainy. Clearly he's gonna fight the monk, but it'd be cool to see him rematch the King, sword saint, casper with time to set traps, etc.

Sloth

Yeah, this event will be way more interesting than Nevermore.

Fyrtue

Let's be honest here. Who wouldn't vote for Sylphie to be chief admin?

Summer Coff

Funniest theory about this story I've seen in a while, congratulations

Zenthos

I would love to see a fight between Jake and Casper but lets be real Casper is to smart to fight Jake.

Zenthos

I think its more that he was unconsciously putting Jake above him so he couldn't realize his authority with breaking that connection.

Dina and forest king would be a monstrous force leading a faction and could make it far as long as they didn't run into a pinnacle opposing force. However, I think Dina might benefit from leading a faction by herself. Stepping out of her comfort zone. wouldn't object to seeing a more aggressive and confident super dryad using what she learned from her teammates in nevermore and playing an important role in this event before teaming up with the others.

JW Saxby

Yeah boi! 🌲 👑 Tyftc 🍻

Jimbo

We MUST see Miranda and Lillian doing Tower Defense.

Numbzy

I need this so badly. Nature can be really fucking metal and I think its time for Nature's more metal side of Dina.

Numbzy

I always imagine it as Ballon Defense.

Corvid

"Authority over what?" "Yes." "What does that even mean? And you're a king? King of what, exactly!?" "Again, yes."

Corvid

Dude in fiction plant mages are some of the most horrific and fun characters around. I like that they all seem mild and pleasant up until they get titled enough to grow a death plant in your heart. Seeing little Dina just go apeshit murder hobo would be peak entertainment

Corvid

Dude the real fun fight would be Casper and Miranda. Battleship, but with frogs and wooden stakes

Corvid

Nah exalted prima is the bound god like Nevermore, but Minaga has already sneaked a clone in there to muck about, also like Nevermore (the geography, not the bound god. Unless...)

Noah Mclelland

Nah Casper is smart enough to take the perfect opportunity to fight without any real risks.

Noah Mclelland

Im with jake and his simple mind in saying its best to try not understand things

I wonder if you lose your pc/pp when you lose your beacon? Will we have a scene of someone chasing someone across the scrublands.... never mind. Was thinking they would build up defenses of each area they conquered as they ran. If they destroy beacon, nothing to build. If they force alliance, the new allies can just surrender to pursuing force. I guess we can get the master scrub running from groot straight into bestest bird.

CT

I may break the 4th on this but I want Sandy and Jasper to have a conflict. Not for drama sake but due to their paths. Jesper wants to steal/acquire things and sandy wants to eat them. It could be glorious chapter where finally we see some character growth for sandy other than "lol worm"

Fdrugc

"What’s more, their foolishness only grew, as when they got closer, all but one stopped flying and instead retreated back, allowing only their leader to continue. The Master Templar considered whether they were perhaps trying to negotiate, at which point he would have to pay them the respect owed to another Primordial’s faction." Doesn't this imply? He thinks the forest king isn't the leader?

Kevin Watson

so is this like a raw mana Authority?

Kt-x

Thanks for the chapter

ABTelford

Ha! So satisfying to see our favorite unique life form fully embrace his freedom and kingship. 😎. And the buildup at the start of the chpt was fun - I started speculating on who it could be: sword Saint? It said monsters so…Sylphie? But no, it’s the king!

Sergej Fel

"Hundreds pf kilometers" ... wouldn't it then stretch over into territories of others? Zog has no spatial awareness whatsoever

Gh0st-Hunt3r

Yayyyyyy fucken Forest king hahahaha

Gh0st-Hunt3r

That depends if you remember Jake said that some territories are bigger than others and as fast as Jake can fly it took him hours to reach the boundary of his own territory so we're talking thousands of kilometers
