Like most monsters, True Dragons also varied widely in how strong they were, with their power often dependent on their variant race. Not entirely, though, as the race was just a starting point, which could very well be wasted. Yrelstromoz, whom Jake had killed before his evolution, was a dragon towards the bottom of variants and utilizing her draconic potential, which, granted, still made her incredibly powerful, as a True Dragon was still a True Dragon.

When it came to the strongest variants, they tended to fall into two types. One was to be expected: two powerful True Dragons – one of them perhaps even a god – had an egg; it hatched, and the hatchling was also incredibly talented and disciplined. A prime example of this was Aisha, the golden dragon Jake briefly spoke to during the Nevermore afterparty.

As for the second type, it was those who weren’t born True Dragons but evolved into them due to their talent and Path. The Malefic Viper was an obvious example of this, having grown from a small snake into a True Dragon by the time he reached B-grade... that he had then gone back to being a full-on snake in godhood was just a minor detail that had no bearing... though it probably did make him a kind of bad example...

Moving on.

Villy had warned Jake that trying to hunt a naturally evolved True Dragon as a C-grade was completely and utterly impossible. All evolved B-grade True Dragons were geniuses in their own right, and when thinking about it a bit more, it made a lot of sense.

True Dragons born that way weren’t necessarily talented, as could be seen with Yrelstromoz, but they were still powerful simply on account of their race. Only by living up to the potential of their innately powerful race could they be recognized as actual geniuses.

Meanwhile, a wyvern that had evolved into a True Dragon could only have done so by already proving it was capable of living up to the potential of the evolution. By default, that made them talented True Dragons, and the Dragonflights were eager to recruit them due to this talent, which was probably also why the Everfrost Dragon God had given the former Northpeak Wyvern a Divine Blessing. Well, that, and the fact that the wyvern happened to live on Earth.

Flying closer, Jake felt the cold aura given off by the evolved dragon as he unleashed a blast of frost energy from his mouth, utterly destroying a set of defensive turrets. Getting a bit closer, the dragon noticed Jake’s approach and turned around, ready to strike, until he recognized Jake.

“Chosen of the Malefic One,” the True Dragon said, not switching to humanoid form as he nodded his head. “Have you come to join the conquest of this Territory? If so, it’s wholly unnecessary. Unless you’re here to witness my newfound power, that is?”

From those few words, Jake could definitely feel the former wyvern had found a lot of new confidence after his evolution. For good reason, too. The presence given off by the True Dragon was rather impressive and definitely placed the big lizard in the upper echelons of geniuses in the multiverse. A valuable ally to have in this system event.

“I could play witness,” Jake said, feeling a little curious to see what the dragon could do. He especially wanted to get a good look at this Dragon’s Breath, as that attack always fascinated Jake. Yrelstromoz’s had been very weak, though incredibly difficult to dodge due to its sheer speed. Of course, in this context, weak was a very relative term, as even a “weak” Dragon’s Breath had nearly ended him back during their fight.

He didn’t even need to see the frost dragon’s breath to know that he wouldn’t have been able to handle it as a mere C-grade. Of course, things were different now, and he did find the prospect of fighting the dragon appealing, but there was a time and place for everything. Hopefully, they would encounter a Territory ruled by the Dragonflights soon, and he could sate his desire to do a bit of dragon hunting that way.

“I would be honored if you would,” the frost dragon nodded as it turned its gaze towards the direction of the Territory Beacon in this area. “Hopefully, this faction does not immediately surrender like the others, but allows me to display my might upon their barrier.”

“Yeah, it does suck that most just give up,” Jake shrugged, empathizing with the annoyance. “Then again, hard to blame them for losing the will to fight when a True Dragon approaches, though.”

“Neither can one blame them for not wishing to fight the Chosen of the Malefic One,” the dragon countered.

“Touché,” Jake chuckled. “I’ll at least help out by not revealing myself, as you really can’t blame someone for surrendering if both a True Dragon and the Chosen of the Malefic Viper show up.”

The dragon nodded, and together, they set flight towards the unfortunate faction that had been placed this close to their Territory. Flying alongside the former wyvern, Jake really got a good look at his new dragon form, and it really was impressive.

His body, which appeared to be made entirely of ice, seemed to have a kind of... depth to it. As if he were looking into incredibly dense glaciers with a faint greenish glow within that reminded him a bit of the northern lights.

The name Boreal Frostpeak Dragon also wasn’t one Jake had encountered before. Frostpeak had clearly come from Northpeak, and they were pretty much the same in Jake’s view, making the Boreal part what he found most interesting. Boreal tended to mean northern or something like that, so the dragon was pretty much called “the Northern Frostpeak Dragon.”

A pretty odd name in retrospect, considering the north being cold wasn’t even a definite concept. All planets had cardinal directions, but not all of them ended up having cold poles. Especially not those with multiple stars lighting up the planet. For some of those, the north was even considered the hottest place.

Yet in this dragon’s context, it was clearly related to the cold. Jake was fully aware of how little he understood concepts in general, but instances like this were still some of the most confusing.

Thinking about the concept of “the north” also made him consider someone else with a cardinal direction in their name: the Eastbound Monk. What did it even mean to be Eastbound? Was he traveling to the east? Clearly, it wasn’t that simple, and the name represented some far more complicated concept that perhaps only the monk could understand. Maybe the dragon was the same.

Mentally returning to reality, Jake noted that the dragon’s speed was rather impressive. Jake barely had to slow down for the dragon to match his pace, which was especially impressive, seeing as it was a frost dragon. Frost dragons tended to be on the slower side, and he was also clearly one focused on magic over his physical prowess. Pretty much all dragons not part of the Wildflight were, but this dragon in particular, more so.

“Actually, I’ve been wondering,” Jake started as they flew, already using Unseen Hunter while allowing the dragon to see him. “Have you decided on a name?”

Naturally evolved dragons were famous for changing their names or naming themselves for the first time upon becoming True Dragons. It was a mark of honor to finally have one with the “stromoz” moniker in there, and given how much the wyvern had wanted to evolve. Jake assumed he, too, had wanted to create such a name.

Who knows, maybe he would even offer Jake help in making him a name? He already had a lot of good ideas! Frostiestromoz, Northiestromoz, Dragoniestromoz... alright, maybe not the last one, but the others were definite candidates that Jake would gladly share!

“I have,” the dragon nodded, squashing Jake’s dreams of naming a dragon. Sadly, he had to wait until he created his own using Primeval Origin Energy and the heart in his inventory, at which point he’d definitely come up with the best name imaginable.

“What did you end up going with?” Jake followed up, getting the feeling that the dragon was purposefully dragging out fully revealing his new awesome name for dramatic effect.

“It was not, but after much consideration, I’ve decided on the name... Tramontanastromoz!” the dragon said in a proud voice, definitely making it sound as if Jake should instantly understand the deep meaning of the name. Unfortunately for the poor dragon, he didn’t.

“Neat,” Jake just responded. “Tramon it is.”

The dragon, now officially named Tramon, looked like he wanted to protest Jake’s shortening of his name, but quickly abandoned the notion, perhaps remembering who Jake was. That, or he felt the Dragonslayer title on Jake, something he had been thinking about.

“Say, Tramon, I’ve also been meaning to ask; you can feel my Dragonslayer title, right?” Jake asked, just to make sure.

“I can,” Tramon answered, having already given up fighting Jake on the name. “All dragons innately can.”

“I see,” Jake muttered. He closed his eyes while continuing to fly as he tried something, and after a few moments, he opened them again with a confident smile. “How about now?”

One had to remember that Jake possessed the Shroud of the Primordial skill, allowing him to obscure nearly all information about himself. He could change or hide his level, was borderline immune to divination, fully customize Identify results, and he also believed that if he wanted to, he could make it impossible to dete-

“Still there,” the dragon answered casually.

“Huh,” Jake muttered, closing his eyes again. Fifteen minutes later, he opened them and looked to Tramon, but before he could even speak, the dragon shook his head.

Damn, Jake thought, wondering why it didn’t work. Shroud of the Primordial should be able to hide something like that, right?

“I do not believe a skill that’s not Transcendent in nature can obscure the effects of the Dragonslayer title from True Dragons,” Tramon more or less answered Jake’s thoughts.

“Maybe not,” Jake sighed, choosing to believe he judgement of the dragon on this one. He would ask Villy about it later, though.

Their flight continued for a while longer with some casual chatter here and there, Tramon far more confident in every way after his evolution. Before, he seemed pretty afraid of Jake and was just putting on a front while in the presence of others, but now, he was genuinely self-assured. He was still respectful and clearly recognized Jake as a superior of sorts, but Tramon had gotten a lot better after being named Tramon.

Soon, the two came upon the local Territory Beacon, and to their delight, this faction was definitely resisting. The barrier was up, and a few flashes, followed by falling magical artillery bombs, communicated clearly that they were intent on taking down the invading True Dragon.

Jake pulled back a little and flew further into the sky so as not to interfere or get caught in any of the blasts. He left the stage entirely to Tramon, only there to serve as a witness to the might of the True Dragon.

Tramon reacted to the falling bombs as mana solidified and froze above him, forming a giant island of ice to block the falling bombs. These bombs exploded on impact with considerable force, sending massive chunks of ice flying everywhere, though they failed to fully penetrate the several-hundred-meter-thick slab of ice.

Still, they were undeterred as a laser cannon shot toward the dragon. Tramon chose to dodge as he rolled to the side, and for good reason. The cannon had seemingly burned through space itself in its wake, leaving the air crackling as it repaired itself.

Those are not standard summoned weapons, Jake mentally noted, also only now considering that they had flown through this Territory for quite a while, indicating it was on the larger side. Likely because it hadn’t been a single Territory in the beginning, but because this faction had managed to eliminate a few of their neighbors.

The belief that this wasn’t one of those bottom-of-the-barrel factions was further reinforced when several flying vehicles rose into the air out of the city barrier. Jake didn’t recognize any of them as options one could summon using the Beacon, making him frown a little. Though they somewhat resembled them, making Jake conclude that these had been altered. Improved.

There were five of them in total, and they unleashed a combined assault against the dragon as a barrage of missiles erupted from them, flying erratically through the air in patterns that made it difficult to stop them all.

For the average B-grade, that is. Things were quite different when dealing with a True Dragon.

Mana solidified once more, forming hundreds of dense ice spears that shot towards the many missiles, homing onto them and filling the sky with explosions. Several dozen spears made it through the clash and flew straight for the gunship-helicopter-jet-looking things, but before they could strike, several figures teleported into the air and summoned barriers of magic to defend their creations.

Seeing them appear, Jake got a look at what they were dealing with as his eyes opened wide. At that moment, Jake felt that the world was truly unfair. He had fought so many factions, destroyed so many Territory Beacons, and then, the one time he agreed not to get involved, they ended up encountering one of the major factions in the multiverse.

Because the figures that had appeared were all elves with familiar-looking robes that Jake immediately recognized.

It was the Altmar Empire. The faction of elven supremacists that even the Primordial factions couldn’t take lightly, as they more than had the power to stand among the other apex forces of the multiverse despite not being led by a Primordial. From what Jake had gathered, though, the Autarch wasn’t far off from being at the level of the Primordials. If he wasn’t already comparable to them, that is.

This realization put Jake in a bit of a predicament... because he wasn’t sure if they wanted to be fighting such a faction right now. However, that’s when he realized something important.

Do they even know who we are?

Jake hadn’t revealed himself, and who the hell knew who this random Boreal Frostpeak Dragon was? Chances were that if the Altmar faction blamed anyone, it would be the Dragonflights, and it wasn’t as if anyone could communicate with their gods while within the World of the Exalted Prima. Even if they could, would the Everfrost Dragon God throw Jake and the Milky Way Galaxy under the bus? Probably not.

Considering that, yeah, why would he need to step in? Actually, even if this did end up being a problem, was it really Jake’s fault? He was just a witness, and Tramon was the one making all the decisions here. If Miranda got mad, Jake was fully willing to throw the dragon all the way under that bus.

The Altmar Empire didn’t seem interested in surrendering or even negotiating, as more weapons were mobilized and more soldiers were sent out to face the True Dragon. Tramon also gladly faced them, happy to meet some actual resistance and to have a chance to show off his power after evolving.

Spreading his wings wide, Tramon unleashed a storm of snow and ice towards the city as clouds gathered and began circling. Feeling a little chilly and not wanting to be covered in snow, Jake summoned a stable arcane barrier around himself, still staying in his Unseen Hunter state, of course.

The Altmar Empire responded promptly to the dragon as he ramped up his aggression, with more than fifty B-grades charging out from the protection of the barrier, all in formation as their energies synergized. The Altmar Empire was united and prepared to face the True Dragon, as the many defensive buildings around the Territory Beacon also started charging something up.

As for what Jake was doing... well, Jake threw away any thoughts that this could totally lead to serious problems down the line and instead regretted not having any popcorn available as he sat back and enjoyed the show.

I have wanted a sylphie plush since I heard the first scree, I will knit her her vest.

J

for the Sophie doll can you please make sure there’s a tag on it that says “murder hawk"

Lemonsqueezy

Before I even read the chapter, that is not how I pictured Sylphie looking. It makes sense when I think about it, but I just didn't picture it like that.

Meadow

I think he meant Heart instead of Egg right?

PJ

north being gold => should be cold?

definitelynotbrjenness

The convo where Jake said, "I'll help by keeping myself hidden..." did anybody else think of Nick and Nate Diaz as teenagers in stockton?

Abriel Blauer

considering the north being gold wasn’t even a defined concept --> considering the north being cold wasn’t even a defined concept

Jasu

”the north being gold wasn’t even a defined concept” -> ”being cold wasn’t”

Fdrugc

"A pretty odd name in retrospect, considering the north being gold wasn’t even a defined concept. All planets had cardinal directions, but not all of them ended up having cold poles. djthomp

Neat to finally get to see the elves in action. Could someone remind me where the dragon egg Jake apparently has came from? I can only remember the heart he got as loot from Yrel. Edit: I refreshed and now it says heart, but maybe I misread on the first time through.

Ηλίας Μπαλάνος

He doesn't have an egg yet from what I remember but I'm sure he can aquire one from the dragonflight

Xander

TFTC :) Enjoy your weekends all :) See you bright and early on Monday for the F5 challenge :D Suggested edits: "placed *this close to* their Territory. Flying *this close to* the former wyvern" repetitive. Change the second to "alongside" "the north being *gold* wasn’t even " should be "cold" "Jake *barely* had to slow down *a little* for the dragon" redundant, since "barely" and "a little" are pretty much the same in this context. I suggest droping the second or change "barely" to "only" "and after a few *minutes*, he " should be "moments" since minutes seems far too long of a time for this or maybe not since the next attempt is 15 mins. long. "One had to *forget* that Jake possessed the Shroud" should be "remember" "on taking down the *True Dragon invading*." should be "invading True Dragon." "forming an *entire* island of ice to block the falling bombs" odd word choice. Large, great substantial, broad, sizeable, lots of choices. "erupted from them *all*" Given that the sentence starts by mentioning there are 5 vehicles and with the repetion of "them all" at the end of the sentence, ditch the "all" here.

David

I will buy a knitted vest from you! Lol

Loststar7

Thanks for the chapter. Hope everyone has a great Friday and a relaxing weekend.

Dragon

He is gonna use his Jake juice on a dragon egg. The heart might come in to play too but I figured that would be used for a different project

Siethrobo

I agree, the vest should be sold separately as an accessory to the plushie!

marenta59

Troy Montana is related to Hanna Montana?!?!?

Fervent Fiend

Poor Miranda. I can just picture Jake and a slightly injured Tramon returning, both grinning with satisfaction. Then Jake explaining how epic the fight against the Altmar was to a stunned witch trying to be somewhat diplomatic to the major powers.

Siethrobo

I think this phase of the event is already 2/3 of the way over. It's just 9 out 10 beacons. Jake alone got 39, other powerhouses are probably in the 20s by now. I can see this event ending with Jake meeting someone he wants to fight and then getting a system message that the event is over for now.

Patryk

Yay, an arc with a lot of quality fights has arrived!

Botond Nyitrai

Only after their firstborn with Artemis 😉

Episode 19

First, nice birb Second, Jake took one look at the dragons name and was like “no way any of us can pronounce that on the first try, your getting a rebrand” Tyftc

DocSmitty

Would also accept murder birb

Meadow

I missed him actually getting a dragon egg then I suppose, or misread something

Nope, it’s been edited now lol

Xerecs

A stealth Zog edit as I also read egg.

Rewdan

Thanks Zogarth it’s been a great weeks reading.

Rewdan

So I’m putting it out there, Jake gets involved and Tramon complains bitterly because Jake ruined his fun.

Xksi

Nice name, Tramuntana is the name of the northern wind (at least in my language). Here in Mallorca the northern mountain range is called Tramuntana 🤘🏻

Justin

So what’s the general consensus on this arc? Is it a books worth? 70-80 chapters?

zran

No,he never obtained a dragon egg

Mrburns93

Im convinced that zogarth chose that name solely to make travis try to pronounce it, 😂

zran

Crazy, to think someone has a worse naming sense than jake.... Tramontanastromoz does sound kinda terrible Imo, he should had gone with a boristromoz

LitPatron

So The Malefic Viper (Vilastromoz) predates the system. He was part of the the very first integration. That could mean he was also among the first generation of true dragons, if true dragons didn’t exist prior to B grade being a thing. Vilastromoz had that name prior to being a dragon. He was called Vilastromoz when he was still a wyvern, probably predating all true dragons. So is it possible the -stromoz naming convention for dragons originated with Villy? He was so OP that other dragons were like “How can I be more like him?”.

Dewdrop06

There is like 2 million galaxies though.

Meadow

Yeah, Zog made a typo I noticed is all

Hayden Leech

Well. FS called him Vilas. When he became a dragon they threw the stromoz onto the end

Numbzy

I was dead wrong. Jake can't hide his status as a dragon slayer. I was very convinced that he would be able to.

Alex

What makes you so sure that Dragons don’t predate The System? If the System felt the need to make the distinction for TRUE Dragons, then surely there must have been some type of pseudo Dragon beforehand, no?

Alex

Who gives a shit what the Altmar Empire thinks. It’s a competitive system event, and it’s all simulated — so no real harm is going to be done Getting pissy and starting real shit over being knocked out of the event would be like starting a blood feud because you got knocked out of a dota tournament by a better team. That’s certified little bitch behavior.

Fdrugc

How Does he not have fresh popcorn in his inventory?

Mitha

That guy should be glad he is getting called Tramon, not Trammy.

Fdrugc

Quite a bit more then that

Frosgods

He mention his integration

Abhishek

Why is Jake even considering the question about Altmar. He should just conquer the whole planet.

Joshua Little

So Travis the Dragon from Montana. Thanks for the chapter.

LitPatron

He was Vilastromoz the wondering alchemist while he was still a wyvern.

R Mac

Where do we think Tramon ranks in the earth hierarchy now

Kenneth Welever

Especially if their entire team gets wiped by one member of the opposition.

Kenneth Welever

Maybe Jake stops him from destroying the beacon. But just that and maybe one guy. They agree to an alliance and then go back to harvesting?

djthomp

Gold got changed to cold too so I bet we got a quick editing pass.

Christopher

Nah, Jake getting invoked would make it considerably less fun for either of them, plus Jake respects the dragon too much to help in such a scenario.

Angus

This feels like it's gonna be at least a book worth of chapters. Based on earlier chapters it seems this is basically going go be one massive tournement arc. With all the heavy hitters clashing in big multi chapter fights.

definitelynotbrjenness

I think it's more about avoiding the entire universe ganging up on him

Carl Never

I like it pretty good think theres room for all of the fights. And they can just leave if we really need a few chapters with artemis and family. I give it 1.8 books

Carl Never

We got a sylphie plushie before a sylphie chapter. Im sure our little murder bird is hidding in the biggest of winds

Carl Never

Sylphie has mastered the art of the polymorph skill. All shades of green are possible. Feathers can be soft or sharp depending on whos head gets cut off or landed on

definitelynotbrjenness

confirmation zog is from Mallorca. shift our search teams immediately.

Carl Never

Oh sylphie dosent know but shes going to get so many hugs

Raymond Whitehead

I like the plushie but I wish it had her storage item vest, on a side onto i hope Eron gets clowned again. Him getting screwed over is hilarious every single time

C0bra$

Thank u for the story

Kenneth Welever

True. He might tell the dragon before he's done though and let him decide.

Jay tolley

I was thinking 7 - 9 which would still be top tier. Jake, SS, FK, Slyphie, Carmen, Arnold, Vesperia, Tramon, and Eron. I know its debatable counting Eron as on earth currently. but still included him. In my option 2nd Teir would be like Casper, Caleb, Maria, Miranda.

definitelynotbrjenness

odds that Lillian, expecting a fog of war, regrets not updating radar faster?

tftc! 🧝‍♂️🐉🧊 the cliffhanger has struck again. can't wait to read the fight between Tramon and the elves!

Raymond Whitehead

Divide and conquer, jake can probably fight any elite here, with the only real questions being Times Chosen and the eastbound monk. But Jake's not strong enough to fight everybody at once and he can only be in one place at a time.

definitelynotbrjenness

so... if you die, you are out for 30 days. if you lose your beacon, you have 60 days to join another faction. Wonder how that will all play out?

Patty O’Cartnoy

Who does he outrank out of: Jake Sword Saint Sylphie Arnold Carmen Forest King I think you’re about right. Somewhere in the 5-10 range, along with William, the lower end of the top 6, Miranda maybe, sky whale(?)

Dhia

how about having the vest a purchasable accessory so little timmys don’t get it without their parent’s approval. btw tramontana means the chilly winds coming from the north iirc

zran

He has not, otherwise he could not be complaining about his lack of popcorn Imo he could have some if first he carries corn on his inventory, and second he upgrades his touch of the malefic viper to help him to make popcorn 😆

Thenais

Cute little plushy

K

This one is really interesting to me. I feel like all the writing about true dragons is telling Jake that they are recognized as something g greater than others. As evidenced by not being able to hide the dragon slayer title at all. I’d love to see some true dragons meet Jake and finally check a bit of his arrogance/nepo baby lifestyle. Maybe cornering him and taking a limb with a warning that he can’t regenerate before the next evolution or he will be killed by a true dragon regardless of the cost? This is heavy handed but an idea, Jake truly needs some true humility before godhood.

LitPatron

@ John Durrett - Not sure show you are replying to. But I actually thought it would be a pretty interesting if Vilastromoz was the impetus of the -stromoz name. If it was just some little known fact lost to time. Either him or the Worm God would be the oldest True dragon. If the Worm God was born after the first system integration even he might not be aware of the origins of -stromoz.

definitelynotbrjenness

yeah, I can see the elves or dragon stopping if they get an advantage. elves because they think he us from a dragonflight. dragon because altmer is on Miranda's negotiate list.

definitelynotbrjenness

jake returns after a little over a month and finds 100's of thousands of people in his faction. miranda has been accepting people to create huge armies to send out hunting.

SmokeJam

Still sad he didn't go with Trogdorstromoz

SmokeJam

It honestly does not make sense either. It is a title like others he can hide, that shouldn't be an issue. The only difference I can see is that all other titles (besides Bloodline Patriarch) were either bestowed on him or a system reward, the Dragonslayer being the only title he worked consciously directly towards and earned it. Maybe it is an ingrained part of him like his bloodline, which he cannot hide from other bloodline carriers either. Still weird and I look forward if Zog comes up with a good explanation

Numbzy

I agree. It feels strange that he can hide his status as a heratic from Gods, but he cant hide his status as a dragon slayer from mortal dragons. Feels weird imo.

Abelian

I want the Sylphie Plushie! Where do I buy?

Abelian

Nvm I just didn't read far enough

SmokeJam

Who knows. I thought Nevermore would be similar to other arcs, it went on for two books. As this is quite the defining event for the whole universe and the Dao Sect got already teasered as potential antagonists, I am expecting at least Nevermore length, if not more, especially if the dead-not dead gods plot gets interwoven

SmokeJam

Why should she even consider being diplomatic? This is the culling portion, diplomacy is not really an option. She definitely doesn't want him to target one specific faction, but surely she is just fine with conquering a few beacons from them. Diplomacy would just be a weakness is this part of the event when it is clearly stated 90% of beacons have to be destroyed to proceed the phase.

Abelian

Nah, I think after Carmen it would be Vespy, Tramon and than Arnold.

UNKNOWN

Why do we have hands? There are many reasons. Hold the hawk. Pat the hawk. Cherish the hawk. Forfeit all mortal possessions to the hawk.

Miotara

"Sadly, he had to wait until he created his own using Primeval Origin Energy and the egg in his inventory, at which point he’d definitely come up with the best name imaginable." That's strange, did I miss a chapter, I don't recall Jake having a dragon egg. I remember him saying he was going to ask Villy to get him one but I don't remember him actually getting it.

I don’t think so, he fumbled hard but sugar daddy Villy came to the rescue. Nothing about that really showed any learning. He just got threatened a bit. But an actual entity that says, cool we may die but one of us will end your run to godhood before we are all gone

K

I think a bit is just me feeling like he’s the universe’s biggest nepo baby with his bloodline. Take that away and he won’t even be able to speak to villy. Don’t get me wrong, I love the book and the lore. But also want to share my thoughts

-Sanguine-

I’ve been wanting one! Thank you!

"If Miranda got mad, Jake was fully willing to throw the dragon all the way under that bus." Jake demonstrating why hes Villy's chosen by showing how he's a snake! How could he even think to betray Tramon to the vile and wicked witch?

shane87

Part of me hates how much sense it makes that the next character we see in this event is the ice dragon

Michael

Make a Jake figurine!

Michael

So why did Villy revert back to being a snake after godhood? Wouldn’t a true dragon still be stronger even as a god? Imagine how strong Jake would’ve been as a malefic dragon, with all his bonuses! Btw why isn’t Draskil guy also a true dragon??

Michael

Isn’t he from Finland?

definitelynotbrjenness

Draskil was c grade last we saw him. Villy shed unneeded dragon records to create his molt. Snakes could not grow if they did not shed skin. Presumably, villy return3d to a truer versi9n of his path. Race is irrelevant to God's, they can become whatever they want. Being a mal3fic dragon would weaken Jake. I suggest you reread the entire story if you Don't understand why.

I think a good way to prove there is no schedule is to release five or six chapters this weekend. Otherwise, I don't know if I can believe there is no schedule.

Daniel Munoz

It's all about path's becoming a malefic dragon don't fit his path and would therefore severly weaken him

Vega

I’m hoping that Jake will get to help with Draskil’s evolution to True Dragon. Love those two together

Xerecs

Draskil was a Malefic Dragonkin the last time he appeared in the story. As far as Villy I like to think of it this way. So Jake and Villy have a strong bond to each other from being his chosen and it's become stronger each time Jake has evolved the bond. We know that Jake's bloodline has been affecting his race. Could it also be affecting Villy? I don't recall anything being mentioned about racial evolutions after godhood and as far as we all know Villy became a god as a dragon. So I like to think that the bond between the two has been affecting Villy to become more aligned with his Origin which has enabled him to become a snake again. Yes as brjenness mentioned Villy could use polymorph to change his appearance but until it's ever said otherwise I believe Jake passively affected Villy to allow him to return to his origin.

Geographical/Latin: Derived from Tramontinus, referring to someone hailing from beyond the mountains. Spanish/Northern Wind: Derived from Tramontana, symbolizing strength and resilience, sometimes associated with a northern wind.

definitelynotbrjenness

I suspect we might find a surprise if we Google "word for a cold wind"

definitelynotbrjenness

zog is tempted to explain at some point in the future that in order to ensure offspring will become true dragons, the parents have to use part of their hearts to create the egg. the rest of the egg is just nutrients / records

Lemonsqueezy

I had a lot of assumptions about True Dragons that were very wrong. Seems like anyone can actually become a true dragon. I thought that was reserved for those born as dragons.

Carl Never

Jake chasing monk down in some star wars space ship. Villy singing in his head "just put that hammer down and give er hell"

Michael

Will Draskil become a true dragon in B grade?

Xerecs

If you remember he had been offered that class where he would passively/uncontrollably effect the people around him and he refused to take that class because of it. He didn't want to do that to anyone. But the chosen bond with Villy that's different.

zran

@brjenness i googled that and... I do not know what kind of suprise you mean, if you mean regarding to his current name? I have not find anything what resembles to his current name using that specific search

definitelynotbrjenness

I would say the odds are good that draskil will become a malefic dragon in b grade. I would also guess that he will be at the top of the most powerful dragons for his level. He will be stronger than tramon and damn close to Aisha the golden princess. He overcame a lot just to survive and make it to the order.

definitelynotbrjenness

You aren't the only one. That came up so many times the last few weeks. Now we just need proof that people from outside the 93rd are inside this event.

definitelynotbrjenness

I enjoy draskil plus women that can kick his ass and/or don't put up with any of his shit. His reaction to being put in his place shows that the way he normally acts isn't entirely the true him.

Vega

Draskil just seems to me like one of those friends you can mutually turn your brains off with and do dumb shit together (they’re the best sort of friends). We always see Jake with people like Miranda who plays the straight man to him, or Villy whom he plays the straight man to, but who can he truly be dumb and dumber with? Also, it’s not like we can see Jake do things like explore different worlds or dungeons with Villy. At least, not while the power divide is so huge. Draskil is one of the only people he can do that with, as he’s on Jake’s level but also won’t slow him down, who can also interact with the other characters instead of just going, “Ree!” which would provide a different dynamic to that of Sylphie when exploring with Jake. No hate to Sylphie though, she’s adorable and I love her, and if I had a choice, I too would speak in a way where I could limit my communication to my favourite people, so I wouldn’t have to speak to anyone else.

Non-english word for cold wind coming down from the mountain. Zog being in Europe probably had heard the term before, but I prefer to picture the malefic one struggling to come up with a name and opening Google and typing " name for ice dragon from a frozen mountain." Google is the second best method for creating names. Best is to change a few letters in celebrity names.

I mean he's earned everything he's gotten? He takes extreme and completely unnecessary risks. Creating Eternal hunger in D grade with an A grade curse. 99 percent of people back out or don't even attempt such a thing. Swallowed a planet destroying plague in Nevermore as a C grade which netted him an extra 2.5 percent nevermore boost. This incredibly risky decision ended up being the difference between him beating Yip of Yore in total points. Hunting a true dragon in Late C grade which is comparable to an S grade killing a god. All of these decisions and more are completely voluntary risks that nobody asks or demands of him. He's not your typical nepo baby. Nepo Babies don't take the risks he does which is what makes him the strongest of his era.

Trumangolorian

I was so hoping for Frosty. Also does his name have Montana in it? Also Also I dont get the reference either lolol. Tyftc Zogi.

Thomas

Can’t wait to read the next chapter, and maybe one day we will get a movie/animation of this book series and hopefully a true version where they don’t leave anything out, of the story

Michael Lambus

I think True dragon is just a distinction between actual dragons and dragon like creatures like Drakes, Wyverns, Wyrms, (Basilisk?), Quetzalcoatl. And of course the noble Kobold.

Asterrahl

The sylphie plushie looks better than I would have guessed. I like the claws, the yellow and the greens are all pretty tones too. Also very classy the way you posted it, without a backround box, it looks good floating in the black. I think it looks better like this, without a vest or various equipment.

Kt-x

Thanks for the chapter

ABTelford

Montana = mountains and “tra” makes me think three, so…3 mountains dragon? I’m probably wrong but, whatever. I’m kinda surprised Jake is acting so childish after all this time. I expected some character growth after the last few main story arcs. If he doesn’t mature some then it’s disappointingly repetitive. Still…this is a very Jake like thing to do. So as a reader I roll my eyes…and keep reading.

ABTelford

Edit: “Who knows, maybe he would even offer Jake help in making him a name?” This sentence has the dragon offering to help Jake. Change “offer” to “let” or “allow Jake to” and it works as intended - Jake helping the dragon.

Pretty sure he's from Denmark, otherwise he has a deep and personal knowledge of Denmark/Danish as a language and Danish Law.

A big part of the power system is being true to yourself. He ain't changing

He is from Denmark or at least that is what is stated on royalroad
