Aishalstromoz couldn’t feel the exact position of the Chosen of the Malefic Viper, but she knew he was in the area. Not long ago, her tracking skill had become far less effective, making her assume he’d used his stealth skill. Even so, his presence lingered, and no matter how good his stealth skill was, he couldn’t hide perfectly.

It was truly fortunate that of the seven remaining Administrators, he was the only Dragonslayer among them; if not, her tracking skill wouldn’t have worked. It was one that had the ability to specifically track those with the Dragonslayer title, something that remained rare throughout the multiverse, especially in low-tier B-grade, as few B-grades could even hope to contest with True Dragons in the first place.

One must also be thankful that killing True Dragons within this simulated space doesn’t grant the Dragonslayer title either, she mentally noted; if it did, others would certainly have earned the title, given how many dragons had been killed during the event. It also had some interesting implications that one couldn’t earn the Dragonslayer title within this world. That likely meant titles such as Mighty Slayer weren’t available either. Perhaps for the best.

Slowing down her flight, she soon reached the point where her target had disappeared. Looking around, she naturally couldn’t spot him, and spreading out her senses and sending out a pulse of detection magic also didn’t yield any result. It was unsurprising that the Chosen had powerful stealth skills, so this was still within expectations.

Aisha was fully aware that targeting the Chosen of the Malefic Viper was risky, but she still decided to do so. Granted, there wasn’t anyone among the eight Administrators that wouldn’t be risky to target, but the hunter was definitely one of the three most dangerous ones.

So why did she do it? For many reasons, but pride was perhaps first and foremost. Not just her personal pride, but for the pride of the dragon race as a whole. He’d killed one of their own, and while she had been excommunicated and was a disgrace of a True Dragon, she had nevertheless been a True Dragon, so for him to kill one while he was still only in C-grade was simply embarrassing.

Personally, she didn’t want the Chosen of the Malefic Viper to believe that dragons were that weak. They were one of the noble races of the multiverse, and while some True Dragons were weaker than others, they were still a race that deserved respect simply by virtue of being True Dragons.

Of course, the Chosen of the Malefic Viper was a being more than worthy of being put alongside True Dragons. Humans were an odd race, in that they had both the most pathetic of existences among them, while also having unparalleled beings, all while being of the exact same variant. As a monster, this was truly weird, but it also meant that truly powerful humans were worth recognizing.

Despite not being born with innate power, they managed to reach the apex through their own efforts. It was proof of their Records, Path, and mentality. Now, in the case of the Chosen of the Malefic Viper, he did also have a massive innate advantage in the form of a beneficial Bloodline, but that only made his existence all the more desirable to Aisha.

This brought her to the main reason why she’d sought out the hunter over everyone else.

“Chosen of the Malefic One,” she said, her voice echoing throughout the world, her power carrying it far enough for any living being even remotely nearby to hear. “I know you’re nearby. Likely preparing an attack to start the fight. Before you do so, allow me to make a proposal.”

While she couldn’t be entirely certain, Aisha felt as if her voice reached him, and she turned towards the mountains as she vaguely felt he was in that direction. When she looked over there, she only became more certain as she continued.

“I can’t be the only one who didn’t find the reward of more Prima Credits that exciting, even if they are no doubt going to be useful, so how about we spice things up? Make a bet,” Aishalstromoz said. “If you’re interested, let me know. Oh, and don’t worry about exposing yourself; I’ll automatically assume I’ve lost the bet should I fall before even being able to receive a response. More out of sheer embarrassment than anything.”

She wasn’t underestimating the Chosen of the Malefic Viper in the slightest, especially not knowing he had been the one to take down the Chosen of the Heartsoul Daolord. As her friend, Aisha knew just how powerful she was, and based on the lingering sense of will upon the hunter, he fought her inside her Heartworld and came out victorious.

Still, even if her friend was powerful and had been stronger than Aisha in Nevermore... that was when they were C-grades. Now, Aisha was finally a fully grown True Dragon and could unleash her true potential, reversing who was strongest among them.

Surveying her surroundings, Aishalstromoz continued trying to find the Chosen of the Malefic Viper, all while preparing her defenses. She knew the Chosen of the Malefic Viper had an incredibly powerful opening attack when he exited stealth and had come prepared for it.

On her way there, she’d inscribed magic circles on many of her scales, created to automatically activate the second she was attacked. There were around five hundred of them, and while she would have loved to make more, the diminishing returns of doing so simply got too ridiculous when one made several hundred.

More than a minute passed with nothing happening, and if not for her skill telling her the Chosen was still nearby and her senses telling her there was someone in the mountains, she would have probably moved on already. She considered speaking again, simply to ask what he was waiting for, but before she could... he struck.

I was wrong, she immediately realized, as rather than from the mountains, an attack flew towards her from the direction of an island beneath her. The attack was slightly slower than expected, but the color of the Chosen’s arcane mana was unmistakable, and she even detected traces of the powerful curse weapon he often used within the blow.

Admittedly, it also felt weaker than she’d first expected it to. Still, as the attack closed in, her magic automatically activated, and the sky was filled with golden barriers sealing her in entirely. Immediately, Aisha extended her will and stopped about a third of the barriers from activating right as the attack struck her.

An explosion of arcane magic destroyed about a dozen barriers, and the arrow that had been blended with the arcane energy managed to destroy about two dozen more before fizzling away into dark smoke smelling of curse energy.

It was a feint, she immediately realized. Hanging there in the sky, her barriers slowly started fading away as they ran out of energy, and right around then the last one disappeared, Aisha stopped controlling the remaining formations on her scales, and didn’t hesitate to fully activate her boosting skill either. Just in time, too.

An intense sense of danger flooded her mind as something from the mountains flew toward her, its speed several times faster than the previous attack. She wanted to react, but before she could, her entire body and soul tensed up as two glowing eyes filled her mind.

The paralysis had only worked for an extremely brief period, but it was enough. Despite her remaining automatic barriers activating, with only a third, it was far from enough as the large arrow pierced straight through all of them before striking Aisha in her midsection.

Immense pain flooded her being as it penetrated through her scales and deep into her body, where the arrow embedded itself rather than continuing to pierce all the way through. Immediately, she felt powerful curse energy emanating from the weapon, but worse than that was the powerful poison that flooded not just her physical vessel but even her soul.

Dragonsbane, she realized as she was ravaged from within. Yet, despite the immense damage, her mind remained calm as she let out a roar and mobilized her mana. The Dragonsbane activated in response, damaging her further, but she had no other choice as she forcibly expelled the arrow from her body right as a barrage of follow-up arrows arrived.

Using her wing to shield herself, she infused it with mana to empower it, barely blocking in time. After much struggle, the arrow stuck in her body was finally expelled, only to immediately turn into black smoke and disappear, all while the arrows kept flying from the mountains, piercing into her wing and dealing further damage.

Despite having already expected the opening attack from the Chosen of the Malefic Viper to be powerful, and even with her careful preparations, she had clearly underestimated just how powerful the attack could be. It was far beyond what any B-grade should be capable of inflicting, and the massive hole in her body refused to heal even now as the poison, arcane, and curse energy lingered.

Even so, Aisha gritted her teeth, and inside her mouth, a small bottle appeared that she instantly drank, and as she did so, its contents washed through her body. It battled the Dragonsbane Poison for a few seconds, but quickly this new energy won out and washed away the toxins from her body as the wound also started healing, and with a loud roar, magic manifested all around her as it was time for her to at least respond to the constant barrage of attacks.

--

Aishalstromoz had clearly been ready to deal with Jake. He hadn’t noticed it at first, but as she got closer, he detected the faint traces of magic on her scales. At first, he thought it was just from some passive skills of hers, but upon closer inspection, he recognized them as small formations. Hundreds of them. Making them must have taken a long time, but they also spelled trouble.

Usually, Primal Gaze meant that his opponent couldn’t summon defenses, even of the magical kind, but it only worked because it froze their soul. These formations would still be capable of activating no matter what Jake did, which he realized was also a weakness. Clearly, she’d made them automatic because she knew he could stop her from controlling defensive magic, but this surrender of control also struck him as an opportunity.

As she approached, Jake flew down to one of the islands where he tried something daring. Eternal Shadow was capable of mimicking Jake and his skills to some extent, so if he activated the empowered version of Unseen Hunter when he stood still, could Eternal Shadow keep it going?

He decided to give it a shot, as Jake summoned plenty of arcane bolts and orbs, which he kept suspended there. The plan was simple: to make a smaller attack first to trigger her defenses, but he feared these pure freeform arcane magic attacks wouldn’t be enough, so he wanted to also add Eternal Shadow.

The issue was that Eternal Shadow would have to stand there for a while without striking, and truthfully, Jake had no idea how long the virtual shadow would even last. Especially not in the current environment. Jake wasn’t blind to Eternal Shadow being kind of odd ever since entering the World of the Exalted Prima, and while he wasn’t sure what was going on with it, his instincts told him it wasn’t a bad development.

Eternal Shadow did originate from the concept of the virtual, so it was only natural that in a virtual world, it would be affected. Testing it and pushing the limits of the skill was a given, which was why Jake decided to summon his Eternal Shadow to stand alongside the summoned arcane orbs and bolts.

Using the skill, his shadow appeared in front of him, facing Jake directly. He stared at his own clone made of curse energy, trying to see any hint of intelligence or anything else noteworthy, but all it did was stand there staring blankly, since Jake hadn’t summoned it with any special intent besides the very vague command of “helping him with his opening attack.”

Usually, Jake summoned his Eternal Shadow with a very specific goal in mind. Either to attack quickly, dodge to one side, flee in another, that kind of thing. They were always simple and usually carried out within seconds, after which it was expected that the Eternal Shadow would naturally disperse or Jake would switch reality with it.

Yet this time around, it just stood there, unmoving. Jake observed it for a few seconds, but as Aisha got closer, he started making his way back towards the mountains, and right around the time he got there, she started speaking.

As she did, Jake got into position and prepared himself. He continued analyzing the formations on her body and made minor edits to his Protean Arrow to ensure it could more easily pierce them should his initial attempt to trigger them fail.

In regard to what she said, Jake’s ears did perk up when he heard the offer of a bet. Jake liked bets, and sure, he could hear her out if she survived his opening attack. Once he was ready, Jake purposefully waited just a little longer, intending the delay to throw Aisha off her game. Once he deemed the wait was long enough, he raised his bow and nocked the Protean Arrow, which was naturally constructed with Eternal Hunger as its centerpiece.

Arcane Awakening roared to life as he charged the Arcane Powershot, all while mentally keeping note of his Eternal Shadow and the arcane magic he kept suspended more or less directly below the dragon. When the Arcane Powershot was close to being as charged as it could be, Jake sent a mental command to the arcane bolts and orbs, launching them upwards toward the dragon.

To his pleasant surprise, his Eternal Shadow also reacted and, with a bow of curse energy, shot an arrow along with the arcane magic. The feint ended up working even better than Jake had expected, and even if the Eternal Shadow faded away right after striking, it had more than done its job.

When his true stealth attack finally arrived, Aisha’s defenses were far from adequate as his Protean Arrow did its job by piercing into her body and lodging itself there to expel all its harmful energies, a massive dose of Dragonsbane included. An improved formula, too, far quicker to activate and with a more potent effect than what he’d used back in C-grade.

Everything was going well until suddenly he felt the dragon consume something. The second she did, he felt his Dragonsbane get attacked by whatever she’d eaten, and he quickly realized why.

An antidote.

The second he realized this, Jake used Touch of the Malefic Viper to purposefully suppress the Dragonsbane as best he could with the hope of avoiding it all being eliminated. It worked somewhat, but the vast majority was still eliminated in moments, and with the poison gone, Aisha successfully expelled Eternal Hunger and her wounds began to heal.

As a True Dragon, her body was incredibly durable simply due to her race, but Jake’s opening arrow had still dealt tremendous damage and wasn’t something she could recover from quickly, and the extra arrows Jake had landed in addition, some of which rendered her one wing full of holes, didn’t help either.

Meanwhile, Jake had expended nothing besides the element of surprise. Even so, Aisha seemed confident as magic revolved around her body, and several hundred spells manifested at once as beams of destructive golden energy flew toward him.

“Truly, you are not to be underestimated. The sting from that attack is something I will not forget easily,” Aisha said while unleashing her attacks. “You have also yet to answer me. Are you interested in a bet?”

Jake flew into the sky and away from the destructive barrage of energy that fell upon the mountain range he’d just been hiding in, surprisingly not doing much damage to it, indicating the material in this hastily constructed world was quite durable. Hearing her question, he answered in the affirmative.

“I could be convinced depending on the terms,” Jake responded while shooting a few potshots toward the dragon.

“Excellent. Then let us bet on the victor,” Aisha said, dodging away from his arrows rather than attempting to block them. “I’m unsure what I could offer you, but I have heard you might want the egg of a dragon. So how about I offer you one of those? One of quality that won't disappoint. I swear I won’t be stingy.”

Hearing this offer, Jake doubted if anything like that could even be considered beneficial to him. Okay, it probably would be, but the Dragonflights would also be elated to help Jake create some powerful variant using his Primeval Origin abilities, bet or not.

Still, Jake liked the offer, not because he didn’t think she could give him something they wouldn’t hand over if he asked for it anyway, but due to the circumstances in which he would obtain it. If Jake asked for their help, he would owe them something, while if he won it through a bet, he wouldn’t.

“Yeah, I could be convinced with that,” Jake said, analyzing what kind of magic the dragon was using. “And what if you win?”

Jake had many thoughts about what she could ask for, most of which revolved around his Primeval Origin abilities once again... yet perhaps he should have predicted her answer based on the many teasing conversations he’d had with the Viper.

“In the event of my victory, you agree to let me bear a child born of your Records.”

mitchell kaiser

No I don’t think Jake will let you have a cousin soon.

General Black

Papa Jake would go hard not gonna lie. It is unfortunate it won't happen though.

Loststar7

Happy Monday and welcome back to round one of Virtual Free For All with our special host Zogarth. Jake’s off to a decent start but it looks like Aishalstramoz may have a few tricks up her scales. Stick around and find out.

Richie

I know… Looks like Jake might have to come clean about Artemis

Nathan Sanchez

Auntie Sylphie? You're too young to be a aunt!

Quyan640

Would be funny if this is how it became widely known that Jake is in a relationship, declining to make a child with another.

Dániel Plachy

a certain archer god won’t like that

R Mac

He only agreed to give Artemis his first child, but we know Jake is monogamous so you’re right

Syf0

Anyone remember Jake getting a dragon egg?… i might have forgotten about that

Anakta

"Yet this time *arrow*, it just stood there" "The *string* from that attack"

Sammot

Tftc!

John Durrett

Seems either way he’s making dragon bebes.

Siethrobo

@mitchell Well if he uses Jake Juice on the Egg (phrasing) that would be like a cousin

The Art of Pedantry

Thank you for the chapter! This is perhaps the best possible way someone has requested to bear Jake's child yet. Unfortunately for Aisalstromoz, she's not going to win, but I respect the almost balanced, from her perspective at least, offer through the bet.

SR

When did Jake obtain a Dragon Egg?

Jasper

Even if she did win, Jake has already promised his first child to Artemis, so I doubt he would even consider saying yes.

Mat

Damn! Here I was hoping the first dragon child of Jake was going to have Villy as the other parent

Levi

Jake's title is about to upgrade from [Dragon Slayer] to [Dragon Layer]

Fyrtue

Much as Villy has always teased him about this, it's funny seeing Aisha of all people hitting him with this request. Gonna have to get in line behind Artemis though. That's certainly not a fight she can withstand.

Michael Fannon

Oh boy, Artemis is going to be a little upset with this little dragon

definitelynotbrjenness

When eternal shadow says job, you say how high! Aisha was always a genius having learned to tie her own shoe stings before reaching her second birthday. Off typoc comment: For some unknown reason Artemis found herself thinking of Jake and becoming irrationally angry.

The Art of Pedantry

Hmm, fair point. But, Aishalstromoz didn't give a timeline. And considering the previous discussion on many God's not viewing the bearing of children to be cheating...there may be enough wiggle room in Jake's monogamistic approach to his relationship with Artemis.

John

Hopefully she doesn’t want a first born

Martino Zanchi

Ignoring how preposterous Aisha's winning condition is, the bet would be so unbalanced from a benefit standpoint they it's laughable. Jake would win a resource. Maybe a very rare one but still a resource. While Aisha and the Drogonflights would win a lineage bearing one of the most powerful bloodlines in the multiverse that they can use to make infinite overpowered dragons. Let's not even talk about the abilities of the harbinger of primeval origins since the dragons aren't certain it comes from the bloodline.

Staudi

Tyftc, at first i though she would ask for the egg out of pride or something - but i didn't see that coming xD

Xerecs

I only remember him having an empowered dragon heart. Zog seems to of stealth fixed it at some point. Now she's offering Jake an egg.

Martino Zanchi

Except that even from her perspective the bet isn't balanced. She would win the ability to replicate Jake's bloodline how many times she wants while he would win a rare resource.

definitelynotbrjenness

I do, but I'll be damned if I remember when. I rem discussing it after the rewarded dragon heart from yrel, but no actual egg.

17^3

I don't think it implies in any way he is in a relationship if he declines. It's well known that powerhouses on their way to godhood dont have children until S grade so as not to distract their progress.

E

Surely this would stun him worse than Gaze ever could

Author Azraeil

It will eventually, he's already agreed that Artimis will get his first born, and thanks to how Aisha worded it he can accept the bet, in the unlikely event that he does lose she will still have to wait in line... I can't remember if Jake's first kid was agreed to be in a grade specifically or just "once he or his patron decided it was time"

Daniel

Genuinely a genius move by Aisha. Of all the ways to try and get at the bloodline, a fight to the finish (okay, not death, sure) is the most likely way to tickle his ego and fancy just enough for him to have to at least consider. That said, the reward scales are so tilted in her advantage on this bet, it’s hard to see him taking it - unless negotiations are featured heavily in tomorrow’s chapter!

Ben Cox

There are only two ways this goes, the only real option is that Jake takes the bet and wins which feels normal but boring. But I would instead be wildly interested to see this play out in scenario two where jake rejects the bet out of hand because he only wants Artemis and promised she'd bear his first child which would only happen near the absolute pinnacle of mortality and that simply can't be risked on a bet between B-Grades.

Den

Aishalstromoz vs Jake (2) spoilers: Artemis smites Aishalstromoz. Death by overpowered jealous girlfriend. Anticlimactic but highly effective.

Fdrugc

Tftc I called it!

Author Azraeil

It's ok even if he agrees and loses auntie Artimis already has dibs on the first born so Aisha would still have to wait her turn... Which would be fine according to the wording...

definitelynotbrjenness

I don't think offering Draskil as an alternative will work this time. However, this little tournament is pointless because the cyclops emperor just discovered that jasper somehow stole all the credits on his way out and us frantically trying to decide if he should tell the participants and let them leave.

Lemonsqueezy

Dragon wants to get busy lol.

Ivo Wißen

When did he get a dragon egg? All i know is he got a dragonheart, when he killt the dragon

Endern

Currently the bet has no time frame, Aisha just has to live long enough to get the second child and both the promise to Artemis and the lost bet is upheld.

definitelynotbrjenness

Can Jake add records after the egg is laid? That would be a pretty high quality egg to experiment on.

djthomp

How Jake responds to that suggestion should be very entertaining. Having some Dragon Flight assistance with the eventual Dragon ritual would be useful, and I could maybe see Jake agreeing on the belief he'll win. On the other hand he's a pretty awkward boy when it comes to relationships.

BumAssBumAss

Bonk, go to horny jail. Aisha seems to have no actual love for Jake, it's political which makes sense. As a harem supporter, It is tough out here.

definitelynotbrjenness

Ohhh.., Draskil does the deed. Jake does the ritual. Malefic Golden Dragon forever introduces Jake and draskil as his two dad's. Becomes villy's favorite God child.

Ben Cox

No shot, nevermind the fact he's repeatedly made his monogamous status clear, he's still some kind of variant human and Villy might use the eunuchification divine arts on him if jake was stupid enough to expose that to the multiverse and dragonflights over some stupid bet.

The Art of Pedantry

You may be right. I guess I was assuming she could give something personal enough (from her own body, after all) that she's believing, based on her own limited understanding of Jake's "ability", that her own records would be enough to overwhelm the records of the criminal dragon Jake killed (also assuming that's where she believes Jake got an egg from). So, in a way, it's not balanced exactly, but the near balance comes from the fact that one of them will be truly defeating the other in an all out fight and will thus be deserving. I also think it's not truly balanced because, alongside her lacking understanding of Jake's ability, her bet is also posturing as a bit of a taunt as well, proclaiming her solid and understandable belief that she is the more powerful of the two (remembering that she came up with the bet before Jake attacked and she was surprised at the power level of Jake's main opener). I could still see Jake taking the bet purely because he doesn't believe it will become problem for him and because, as mentioned, acquiring something of the caliber he could from this bet would be quite difficult outside of these circumstances.

Mitha

Sadly, she's not aware of a certain godqueen gf who demanded Jakes first child.

Jip

Someone wanna pop in the slayer of the mighty description? Seems like it will become relevant since she thought of it specifically alongside the dragon slayer title

The Art of Pedantry

Good thing she didn't mention a timeline. That slightly raises the chances Jake will actually take the bet (cuz he doesn't believe he will lose).

Tichamala

What egg? Didn’t he have a heart?

Brandon Yarberry

Was gonna ask about this too, cuz i don't remember anything about him getting an egg. Unless the heart *is* an egg?

The Art of Pedantry

Not to mention the prior discussion with Villy about many if not most Gods not viewing bearing children with other Gods as cheating. So it has even less impact on potential implications than we would consider normal to begin with.

The Art of Pedantry

Would be hilarious, though I'm pretty sure impossible due to the system. I would definitely die laughing if it did though!

Josie

Prophetic Villy knew Jake is either a dragonslayer or dragonlayer. In comes greedy Aisha to ask "Why not both?"

Grimsayer

Well even if Aishal does win she'll have to get in line cos Artemis already called dibs on his first one.

17^3

Did villy give it to him after he killed yrel?

Dave

Oh my, Arty won’t be happy

Ricardo júnio

So the bet is, if Jake loses, she gets a child, and if Jake wins, she becomes a step mother XD

Ivo Wißen

He did it with sylphie

Pekka Kohonen

Looks like she will be definitely penetrated - but not in the way she would like... I predict a swift impalement, with prejudice.

Dylan Hilliard

Oh snap! Giggity giggity! She might have to fight Artemis for that.

atome 4 000

but I have heard you got the egg of a dragon. It's not an egg, its a Heart. Wich he intend to fuse with El,hakkan,s one. And even if he agreed, Artemis called dibs on his the First Born.

definitelynotbrjenness

yeah, I should have asked if that would count as her bearing a child with his records.

Kaladin

So Jake has a heart and not an egg, but I'm curious if whatever he could get would be beneficial to either? I don't remember what he planned on making with the heart but those are some pretty intense resources. He already has a great weapon and doesn't need gear, so maybe it can be used to enhance his eternal shadow?

sigma

If I remember the conversation righr she's fine with it, but Aisha will be down the list

Gracie

tftc! XD Jake is so oblivious. 🐉🏹🐍

Dante

He's waiting for godhood I'm pretty sure

Justin

I think this is a continued mistake where author accidentally said egg one chapter everyone was like hold up and now this mistake resurfaced, so seems it may just be a thing now bc author wants our boy to have an egg

zran

Oh hell no, jake must win if he accepts Tho it might be a 50/50 chance of him accepting such bet(tho peronally i believe he will regardless)

Raymond Whitehead

Well its good to see that evolving to B grade helped with Aisha's confidence

Raymond Whitehead

I do think that Jake getting the resources for the next person in his Hunting pack will have more for jake than what you're implying. Keep in mind any children jake has wont get a copy of his bloodline every bloodline descendant has a slightly different version of the bloodline patriarch's ability if they even manifest one to begin with. There's no guarantee they would get the primeval orgins stuff.

Matt

Personal prediction based on nothing at all - this FFA round will end with a Jake vs Sword Saint rematch Jake still has a scar on his neck that demands it

Eastbound monk

Jake has truly walked into a trap of his own making.

Kota

Might be one of the matchups, but if the finale isn't Jake vs Eastbound Monk I'll be very surprised.

Kota

Could also reject the bet because it'd be so massively in her favour, or simply by claiming this isn't something he'll bet.

Kota

I really don't see Jake agreeing to this. Sure he could wriggle out on the technicality that she didn't specify a timeline, but that doesn't seem like his style. The more interesting question is ... does Aisha honestly expect him to agree, or is she just trying to scope out his reactions? The proposed bet being so blatantly in her favour makes me think the latter...

Jeffrey Pearson

Yeah... but this is Jake... most likely every child will end up with bloodline abilities and might not even become normal rules until grandchildren

Soulessone

I have a theory that Jake creates powerful creatures because they are his offspring. It is why sylphie "hears from the wind about danger" it's a similar blood line as Jake.

Martino Zanchi

And you are putting to much stock in to it. It's not like he is lacking recources with Villy in the back. Also even if the bloodline has variance it doesn't mean it doesn't have value. Hell we have seen with Dina that bloodlines can resurface as a strong variant and even weaker versions of Jake's bloodline would be crazy. The only way in which the bet would be balanced is if the resource was unique, exceptionally powerful, and inextinguishable, because those are all the characteristics of Jake's bloodline. It would have to be, I don't know, a infinite supply of dragon eggs.

Miotara

Jake doesn't have a dragon egg from what I remember, maybe it was meant to be dragon heart?

Bushninja

Jake agreed to let Arty have his firstborn I don’t see him gambling that agreement away

John

Thats when Jake gets hit with her arrow antidote and unleashes her underwater domain and Jake has to get fucked twice

Kraede Epoch

I can't recall which book, but didn't Villy tell him once that it's was very hard for Gods to make babies with other Gods? They usually take partners that are strong and talented, but not quite a God yet...from what I remember

UNKNOWN

Aisha isn't an archer. She had no chance in the first place even if Jake didn't have Artemis.

Rathalosblood

I looked up his loot after his dragon kill: "Light-touched Luxellian Dragon Heart (Mythical)] – The heart of a Luxellian True Dragon, touched and empowered by her kin mere moments after death. Contains the focused Records of a Luxellian True Dragon, granting it incredibly potent energy of the light-affinity and even the true essence of a dragon. Has many alchemical uses, but be warned that manipulating the inherent power within will not prove easy." Not an egg, so when did he get an egg?

C0bra$

Thank u for the story

Syf0

In the chapter where a talked about his plans for dragon and Cheeto heart, he thought about asking villy. I don’t recall him actually doing it onscreen tho. And aisha isn’t talking about him searching for an egg, she said I know you have one. And that is the weird part. How the fuck would random dragon lady know what’s in Jake’s pockets vs Jake and the reader themselves. But I might just have forgotten a mention about him receiving an egg, haven’t searched through the Patreon backlog

Meadow

This is the second time now Zog, Jake got the Heart of a dragon, not the egg. Though we know what Jake is winning from the bet now at least.

Meadow

Aisha is double dipping on this bet, she wins either way. Either Jake pulls his primeval bs and gets dragons a fun new source of records, or Aisha gets bred for a fun new source of records.

Meadow

She wouldn’t care if it were a mortal, but would be greatly insulted if it were another goddess

Dániel Plachy

i meant firstborn. I know she wouldnt care less for mortal children

Jordan Rogers

Wonder how long Artemis is willing to wait, for the first born, will he have to reach godhood first?

Tribal

That was bad and you should feel bad.... Lol

Bob of Doom

The bet is “heads I win, tails you lose” in Aisha’s favor. Jake wins a dragon egg so it’s likely he’ll hatch a dragon. That dragon will join the dragon flights strengthening them. If Aisha gave him a gold dragon egg, then 2 of the flights will have claim to it. In the end, they come out stronger. If Jake loses, the flights might get a copy of the bloodline and come out stronger. There really is no reason to agree outside of Jake being competitive. So Jake is going to agree.

TwoMoreYears

Jake was warned this day would come. Jake was not ready.

Tribal

He only mentioned he wanted to acquire a dragon egg. This was a internal thought he had they we the reader heard. Zogarth never put it in the book that he already got a egg or that he ask anyone for assistance in acquiring a egg for him. So the infused heart might be a "egg". Cause Jake isn't one to do any real learning about anything besides how to kill his target. So learning how dragons reproduce probably wasn't on his list of things to learn when slaying the 1st dragon.

rcischke

He really, REALLY needs to take some of that Patreon money and hire an editor already!

Rewdan

What a fantastic start to the week, so in always Jake wins. Win if he kills her and win if he dies. Thanks Zogarth.

Errat1k

Lol, no bet! Entirely too many potential complications and no real upside for Jake. Silly dragon.

Rewdan

We all know that she wants a bit of Jake

robert o sparrow

I feel like Jake’s gonna lose this one and skirt around it until after he fulfills his promise to Artemis.

JigglyBear

Thanks for the chapter. A damn good way to start the week.

Gh0st-Hunt3r

Yes, [Kreade Epoch] Villy did say it's extremely Difficult for 2 Gods to have kids; that's why GODS usually procreate with mortals for this exact reason. It's easier to have kids when your mortal

R Mac

So she is stronger than the heartsoul daolord. This part of the event may be more about reserving resources and health than anything. Even 2-3 pinnacle fights would wear down Jake

John Brand

Is this a scheme by Aisha and win or lose , its the same egg? She wins, Jake makes an egg. She loses, Jake comes to collect, she tells him they need to make the egg.

Arieh Sochaczevski

Thanks for the chapter! He can’t make that bet - he’s already committed.

Gh0st-Hunt3r

Not true [Bob Of Doom], look at Vesperia! She is a true royal of the endless empire, yet she feels complete loyalty towards Jake, and not just because he is her sire, it's almost an innate drive. To the point she would leave the endless empire if he so desired her too! So just because he hatched a true dragon doesn't mean the dragon would automatically join a dragon flight, and would probably have the the same feeling of loyalty towards jake as any of his other creations. Although I do agree with [Martino] That this bet is so outrageously unbalanced, the only outcome possible is Jake wins! Obviously that's going to be the outcome, not because of the bet, but because I refuse to believe Jake is gonna lose to the first opponent he fights in this phase. True Dragon or not. 😁

Gh0st-Hunt3r

No jake never got an egg just internally monologed about wanting one and yes he also thought about asking Villy but decided against it. But you are right I don't remember anywhere in the book or any one of the chapters were it said that he let it be known that he wanted an egg so that's a good question: how does Aisha know he possibly wants one ??

Gh0st-Hunt3r

Ok, so looking at Vesperia! 😁 On a side note I think it has to be said that whatever kind of dragon Jake creates, they are going to be able to sense Jake's [Dragon Slayer] title, and I'm just curious how it will effect there relationship?

thkiwow

Did she lie when she said he was not her type? Weird.

Coramoor

If the sword saint loses to the eastbound monk, that would be unfortunate. I feel like he's supposed to be Jake's foil throughout

Kradish

Celestial dragonflight incoming?

Kristjan Vool

Yeah, I don't think he will agree just out of respect to Artemis. Doesn't matter if he knows that he will win 100%

Patryk

Imagine if villy, after a prolonged session of abusing the system, finally got viewing access to Jake in the simulation and shared it with a very curious Artemis ...

Patryk

He's gonna ask eternal shadow if he's interested lol

Thatguycant

That's a terrible deal. They would probably give Jake an egg under the condition the dragon born from it is raised by the dragon flight. Jake gets to play around with an egg and they get a powerful new member everybody wins.

ABTelford

Loved this chapter! And the end!…Jake has a goddess girlfriend! So even if Villy hadn’t told him not to go spreading his babies around carelessly, his answer will have to be no. We all know this. Now to see how he answers her. Shock? Anger? Amusement/disgust? Will he spill the beans about having a girlfriend? Will he be so shocked he gets hit by an attack? Can’t wait! Also this bet is nothing but win conditions for the dragons - therefore not fair. Crooked. She wins either way. So I’m really hoping Jake points this out and works out better, more balanced winning/losing conditions. Like pointing out “Nah, if you win you give me a dragon egg and i use primeval origin energy to evolve it into a powerful variant. And you get credit from your elders. If I win you owe me a favor to be cashed in during B grade. I’ll probably ask for alchemy ingredients or sparing practice.”

SqrlyGrly

I think arty might have some objections

Phillip Masusock

Except apparently it’s an actual title. Villy and duskleaf apparently had a bet about which he’d get first, which he told Jake about back after he’d killed the lumenflight reject.

Amathew2

If Aisha gives Jake one of her eggs does that mean she is still the mother of one of Jakes “origin-children”?

ABTelford

Jake has talked about how he’s personally against having kids he wouldn’t be involved in raising because of some kind of primal protective instinct related to his bloodline. If I’m remembering right? So I’m interested if his bloodline will react to this request. 🧐

High Beta

I hope he doesn't take the manipulative bet just for a dragon egg, especially since it would benefit the Dragonlight faction more than it would benefit him.

Kevin Watson

Artemis will probably be fine with this bet, but only if Jake wins. They have had a conversation where they both expressed mutual exclusivity, no?

Botond Nyitrai

Artemis said she is fine with him having other relations but was very adamant about having his firstborn child.

Matthew Thompson

Welp only his first born is promised to Artemis. Not to mention I doubt he will lose but I’m curious if he would be willing to bet that.

Gregg Moses

His God Girlfriend will be having none of that. She has already made that more than clear.

Xander

TFTC :) So Aishas bet boils down to "If you win the dragonflights get a powerful new member but if I win the dragonflights get a powerful new member AND I get laid" errr heres hoping Jake doesnt fall for that. Also I dont recall Jake saying out loud he wanted a dragons egg. He thought about it and thought about asking Villy but nothings been mentioned since iirc. So how the fuck does Aisha know what he wants or what he has? Maaaaaaybe the dragon patron person might have told about the heart but thats about it. Suggested edits: "and right around *then* the last one disappeared" should this be "when"? meaning that when the last barrier ended A activated her boosting skill. "felt *powerful* curse energy emanating from the weapon, but worse than that was the *powerful* poison that flooded" repetitive. Potent, high-level, significant, forceful, intense, lots of choice. "Yet this time *arrow*, it just stood there" should be "around" "Protean Arrow did its *jump* by piercing" should be "job" "The *string* from that attack is something" should be "sting"

Gh0st-Hunt3r

Hahahaha love this !💯👍💪

Corey Herington

Tftc Yet this time arrow(around), it just stood there, unmoving. his Protean Arrow did its jump(job) by piercing The string(sting) from that attack

nick gibbons

I feel like either way its a win-win for both the dragon egg will definitely be hers or from her clan so Jake using his primeval energy will benefit the dragon egg so it will benefit her dragon flight and her having his kid is a good thing bc of the records for Jake and for her

The First Sage

It reminds me of Carmen and Caleb’s CEO joke during the celebration of the top rankings at Nevermore, perhaps there are feelings there.

definitelynotbrjenness

Warlord Davion is a berserker and carmen's favorite team member from nevermore.

Brodle720

What a birthday chapter

Adam Scott

This isn’t a finished copy it’s a rough draft. He has us to edit it before he sends to his publisher. I like the typos, means Zog is a real human and not a mythical God writer.

definitelynotbrjenness

if jake does have an egg and Aisha gives him one and snappy can give him one, jake can combine them and make something like Ghidora.

definitelynotbrjenness

might be more a case of not wanting to rely, trust, work with, etc. some one. I could see it becoming frustrating trying to find some one and you're adding the stress of a schedule to get the chaps to them and the stress of them probably not getting the work done quickly.

Zogarth

He didn't, was a mistake, I fixed.

rcischke

The errors don’t get fixed though, as evidenced by there being copious typos, spelling, context, and grammatical mistakes in the ebooks and audiobooks, which are read verbatim from the text. The use of editors is common across all written work. Even people who just write stuff for work have others look at it to assist with finding errors and making sure everything is intelligible and consistent before they present it. There are no mainstream authors what don’t have the assistance of one or more editors. In fact, it’s part of the reason they are popular, because the work is done well and the copy is of high quality for the reader. I appreciate the world Zogarth has created. The story is good, the characters are good, the plot and pacing are good. However, his writing itself would significantly benefit from some assistance, and I think it would make it even more popular.

definitelynotbrjenness

9-10, egg - heart Sorry zog, I can't hold it any longer. You're all being jellyfished still. Why would the cyclops put up with Jasper? Because the jellyfish can't keep him out and made a deal with him instead. The comments of the cyclops about having free will is "nice" are him being jealous of Jasper being free unlike everybody else in that room. I couldn't hold it in any longer. Sorry for the spoilers. but come on, it's as plain as the karma on William's face... oh wait... nevermind... don't think about william. yeah, he has nothing to do with this.

definitelynotbrjenness

meh, I bet villy has looked into acquiring an egg. Probably has a few high level ones donated. now i'm picturing jake doing a ritual involving a nest of 6 or 7 dragon eggs followed by Jake leaving the hatchlings with his parents until he finds a caretaker for them. Mira? Scarlet? Tramon? Whale? Snappy? Verdant witches?

Corvid

Suddenly, universes away, Artemis gets an eye twitch coupled with an unexplainable urge for dragon genocide

Corvid

Title: [Dragonslayer] has been upgraded to Title[Dragonlayer]

Corvid

You've had a lot of fun ideas, but I've never been about one as much as I am with that. And it's King Ghidora, put the proper respect on it

Catrina

Aisha is offering him one. Zogarth went and sneakily changed the item Jake would get to an egg

Catrina

I don't think Jake will agree to that bet. I remember a chapter where he said he wanted to be in all his childrens lives and not just have children spread out over all the universes and be a dead beat dad to them. His instincts for protecting family and those close to him wouldn't allow him to just let them be given away like items.

Catrina

He didn't aisha is offering him one. Zogarth sneakily went and changed it.

Beef Wrench

His girl has literally one condition for their relationship be a shame if she found out he was making bets willy nilly 😂

Catrina

Also that's a heavily unfair bet where she wins either way. She gets a child with a powerful bloodline and can start a new lineage of powerfully dragons or she gives him an egg and is connected to a boost all dragon kind with a new lineage.

Gh0st-Hunt3r

Ooooo good question...?💯👍🤔

Geoffrey

"No daddy, he's not my type." Next time she sees him "Give me baby now". Okay then lady.

Corey S

I feel like either she bears his child or she gives him an egg of her own or from her flight. So it’s a win win for her either way

Thenais

« Oh thank you lord in heaven »

Remify

Think of all the scales

Remify

I'm calling it right now Jake shadow clone is going be able to live in the Seat of the Exalted Prima. Let's outfuck the system fuckery

Remify

Nah the condition is that she got his first child, for the others it's open bar

Matt

@kota I feel like it will play out the same way it did way back when in the vampire pocket world. Eastbound Monk will turn out to be way stronger than anyone anticipated, Jake and SS will have to team up to beat him, then they'll have their rematch Jake will of course hate having to team up to beat him, but ya gotta do what you gotta do.

Exaiter

Hope he refuses. Jake juice is precious resource

Gh0st-Hunt3r

Heres the thing [LEVI] So in reguards to your comment ie.. Hayden Leech

“Primal Gaze meant that his opponent couldn’t summon defenses, even of the magical kind, but it only worked because it froze their soul.” Jake only has shadow and moment as of the primal hunter skills right? “Primal gaze”? Jake’s gaze skill hasn’t upgraded since Gaze of the Apex hunter. Has it?

Dave

He upgraded it in nevermore

Phil Ritter

So either she gives him a child or he her? Feels balanced

Taylor

Didn’t they all kill True Dragons in the chambers like 3 hours ago? Aren’t they all dragon slayers?

Parker Bond

What is the Mighty Slayer title and why doesn't Jake have it already? Or does he?

JW Saxby

🤣🤣 Gotta love that lmfao 🍻 Tyftc 🩶👍🏼

Fylbrom

So, will jake deny the terms, thus outing himself as having a girlfriend already? Or will he accept, being the arrogant guy he is, knowing loosing is not an option. Either way, she's got balls.

karl Mckellar

@Taylor read the chapter again. Being an virtual word it didn’t count
