“Just how many of those things do you have?” Jake asked, briefly considering if he should try to disarm the man before he could absorb the stats from the warhammer, but he knew that wouldn’t work. All it took was a single thought, and the hammer would be absorbed.

“Only time will tell,” the monk answered mysteriously.

“Also, you lied before, didn’t you?” Jake asked. “I’m very much assuming those weapons function in the same manner as my staff did, and the staff was Soulbound. Yet you said Eron got it for you.”

“I didn’t lie,” the monk shook his head while looking at the large warhammer. “And it is Soulbound. However, these items also drop after death, so when the Chosen of the Lifesoul Daolord fell, the weapons he’d obtained became available for another to acquire.”

Jake narrowed his eyes, wondering whether that meant the monk had killed Eron to get them, or if the other Chosen had ended his own life on purpose to hand over the items. Well, he could have also been killed by someone or something else, but Jake thought it was significantly more likely the monk was the cause, either directly or indirectly.

“Good to know,” he just commented, as he saw no need to delay, considering his own stat boost was still running out, and he wanted to minimize the period where the monk had an advantage.

Before, Jake had used his arcane magic to great effect, and he continued to do so, but he also wanted to experience what he could do with his other forms of magic. Starting out basic, he launched a barrage of mana arrows – his new temporary name for arrows summoned using magic – forcing the monk to respond as he immediately absorbed the warhammer.

Even from a distance, Jake could feel the powerful effect as the monk was filled with what had to be primarily a massive boost to Strength. Proving his assessment true, the monk stomped down hard in the air, unleashing a shockwave as space compressed beneath his foot, repelling most of the arrows.

At the same time, he also punched, unleashing a massive golden fist toward Jake. Summoning his wings, Jake shot into the sky to avoid it while at the same time pumping out a dense mist of toxins. Flapping his wings, he sent the mist flying down toward the monk, who clapped his hands together, sending out yet another shockwave that scattered the mist. For a moment, anyway, as it quickly started gathering again.

Seeing as currently one of them was effectively a mage and the other a heavy warrior, the monk naturally didn’t want the fight to stay ranged, so he kicked off the air and propelled himself toward Jake. It was evident that compared to the sword, his Agility had not grown as much, but in turn, his Strength and even Toughness had definitely benefited.

Watching him charge and feeling his current power, Jake knew that once the effect of the staff wore off, he would be in for a bad time, so he chose to take advantage now and get as much of an edge as he possibly could.

Rather than dodge away, Jake chose to dive straight toward the monk, taking him by surprise. He immediately moved to punch a hole through Jake’s chest, but before he could do so, two glowing orange eyes locked onto his body as Primal Gaze activated.

The monk froze dead in his tracks as Jake went as far as to use both Boundless Sight and Primal Gaze together. Immediately, he confirmed that the Warhammer hadn’t given the monk any kind of Willpower or Perception, giving Jake a giant advantage in this clash of souls. What’s more, he wasn’t only channeling the empowered Gaze, but continued his attack in the physical world.

While continuing to fly, Jake made a palm strike to the frozen monk’s face and wrapped his hand around it as he dragged his opponent along. At the same time, Touch of the Malefic Viper, far more powerful than ever due to the giant increase from the staff, activated, pumping toxins into the monk’s body through his face.

In the mental realm, Jake and the Eastbound Monk’s souls were pitted against one another, as Jake definitely had the advantage. He was dealing continuous damage to the monk while keeping him immobile, which isn’t to say that the monk’s soul was weak. It was just that Jake’s soul was already incredibly powerful, and now with the Staff of the Magi, it was even stronger.

However, as Jake thought to push further, keeping the skill going longer than he perhaps should, he suddenly got a bad feeling. He briefly felt something that made him immediately stop using Primal Gaze, and when he did, the monk could move once more and instantly sought to get Jake off him.

A punch that would surely break Jake’s arm flew up from below, making him instead stop Touch of the Malefic Viper as he instead made his hand explode with arcane power, blasting the Eastbound Monk down toward the ground.

Still shaken by the soul attack, the monk didn’t brace properly as he crashed into the ground, creating a large crater that sent rock and soil flying everywhere. Jake followed up immediately as arcane explosions quickly leveled the crater and turned it into a deep pit.

After a couple of seconds of Jake unloading, a massive golden palm erupted from the pit, destroying all the arcane magic in flight before forcing Jake to dodge away. Out of the hole floated the monk, his face halfway melted off by Touch, with the following barrage of destructive arcane magic only worsening the damage.

The monk formed that accursed healing seal with his hand yet again as a rush of mending energy enveloped his body, but rather than fully heal him, as it had the other times, this time it only seemed to mend his surface wounds, his face still a mess. For a second, Jake thought that maybe the damn monk was finally running out of juice for the skill, but he quickly realized the real reason.

A stronger body is also far harder to heal.

The warhammer had massively increased his Endurance, Vitality, and Toughness, all of which affected how tough his body was, and Jake could feel how the toxins in the monk’s body were struggling to affect him despite the quantity and potency of the poison used.

It was still ravaging the monk from within, especially the poison just inflicted with Touch of the Malefic Viper, but it wasn’t enough. Not yet. Especially not with the monk continuously eliminating much of the toxin whenever he used that damn healing skill.

After healing himself as much as he could, the monk got ready to go on the offensive again, but Jake was already way ahead of him as arcane barriers surrounded the man, seeking to limit his movements while Jake let loose another wave of magic.

Unfortunately for Jake, his arcane barriers couldn’t stand up to the warhammer-empowered Strength of the monk, resulting in him effortlessly breaking through them and dodging the first wave of magic.

What did still work was the poison mist Jake had continued to pump into the atmosphere, and while the monk was far stronger now, he couldn’t fully stop having it invade his body, especially not when Jake actively manipulated it to implode towards his opponent at all times.

Stepping down, the monk teleported forward after breaking through another arcane barrier, his fist exploding forward with incredible momentum. Jake quickly retreated, but the fist sent out a shockwave far stronger than any prior, rattling Jake’s insides and interrupting his attempt to use One Step.

This allowed the monk to do a follow-up, and while Jake tried to defend himself with a wall of arcane energy, it wasn’t enough, as it was broken, only slightly lessening the power of the incoming blow. Jake raised his bow to block at the very last second, getting it slammed into his chest along with the fist as he allowed himself to get blasted backward while also borrowing the momentum to fly back as fast as he could.

In his wake, more poison spread and more magic manifested, launching toward the monk who gave chase. He deflected and dodged some of the arcane arrows, but he was still struck dozens of times, each slightly penetrating his skin before exploding.

Damage was accumulating, but the monk seemed to accept it as he didn’t want to give Jake time to conjure up any powerful magic. The joke was on him, though: Jake didn’t know any powerful magic besides rituals, and there was no fucking way he was going to sit down and make a ritual circle in the middle of a fight.

Reaching him again, Jake had to struggle to defend himself once more, the outcome still ending with him sent flying, his insides rattled badly. Like so, several exchanges followed with the monk looking a lot worse for wear, with Jake looking mostly fine, though his internal wounds were starting to get pretty damn bad.

Still, he was waiting for his opportunity to strike. He felt that the stat boost from the staff was soon coming to an end, and he needed one last hurrah to go out on. That last hurrah was already sitting there within his quiver, ready to be unleashed as soon as he saw the chance to.

Meanwhile, the monk continued to apply pressure, sending out golden fists, rattling shockwaves, and various small displays of sound techniques, primarily to defend himself, though he relied on his incredibly durable body at this stage of the fight. He truly was stupidly durable now compared to when the Blademaven’s sword had empowered him, though his low speed also made it difficult for him to land any blows, overall making him far less of a threat offensively.

He was seemingly just waiting out Jake’s boost while trying to ensure Jake couldn’t pull off any big moves. Jake was cooking something up, though. He had been so for a while.

When Jake knew that not even half a minute remained of the staff’s effect, he finally made his move, truly having no other choice. Like always, he unleashed a barrage of magic, but this time, it was slightly different from before. When the monk moved to dodge, all the bolts and arrows exploded, unleashing not just arcane energy, but a massive blast of dark mana that covered the sky.

At the same time, Jake raised his hand and made it glow dark green. Before, when Jake had used Touch of the Malefic Viper, he hadn’t simply infused the Eastbound Monk with toxic energy to melt him from the inside, but also pumped in plenty of toxins with the dark affinity. Usually, Jake’s dark affinity wasn’t that impressive, but with the boost from the staff, it was suddenly more than usable.

Attacked from both the outside and within, the monk was enveloped in darkness as the dark affinity overwhelmed his senses. Jake kept attacking with arcane mana; he also took the opportunity to finally pull out his Protean Arrow, which he’d been waiting to use until now.

In the back of his mind, despite the precarious circumstances of this battle, Jake had still considered the presence of the Sword Saint. The old guy was gone for now, sure, but he would return, and when he did, Jake wanted to have some methods left to fight him. Alas, Jake decided that he at least needed to take the monk down, or deal lethal damage before his staff boost ran out.

Plus, there was one more reason. One that was even more important. Perhaps the biggest bonus from the special items wasn’t the stats themselves, but the opportunities they gave, and Jake wanted to take advantage of one final time with a skill he’d been working on upgrading every single time he used it. A skill that was already core to his Path, and would likely continue to be so for eternity to come.

Arcane Powershot channeled as Jake reveled in the feeling of having the arcane energy circulate his body and into his bow. The pattern of movement felt smoother than ever before; he had greater control, and all the minor flaws he’d been surmising about whenever he used it normally suddenly had such obvious solutions. With his mind split between continuing to ensure the monk was blinded and continuing to focus on defense, Jake charged his arrow while his aura grew stronger.

Despite how much he was focusing on the process and improvement, this ended up being one of the quickest Arcane Powershots Jake had ever fully charged due to the sheer intensity of the energy he was handling, but its power also surpassed any Powershot he’d ever used before.

Reaching its zenith, Jake unleashed one last barrage of magic as a shadowy figure also emerged from his body. He had barely dedicated any mental energy to its purpose, but the shadow seemed to understand as it charged after the hail of magic towards the monk.

Half a second later, Jake deeply breathed in, poured in every shred of Hunting Momentum he had accumulated, poured every other enhancement he had into the arrow, and let it fly, the explosions rocking the sky unable to deafen the sound within Jake’s head signaling another long-awaited upgrade.

[Arcane Powershot (Ancient)] --> [Arcane Powershot (Legendary)]

The Protean Arrow soared forth with unstoppable momentum towards the large cloud of dark smoke that enveloped the Eastbound Monk. Within this cloud, his opponent clearly detected the incoming danger and took a defensive stance right as an attack arrived.

Eternal Shadow appeared in front of the monk and stabbed forward, Rupturing Fang revolving around its katar. The monk responded by raising a palm towards the strike, but right before the katar hit the hand, all the energy suddenly dispersed and Jake’s Eternal Shadow only lightly poked the palm of the monk.

His redirection move was nullified, with the shadow dispersing right after making its strike... only for the monk to flip around the palm he’d just used to block with as a golden wave of energy erupted from him, dispersing the surrounding darkness as he narrowed his eyes and lifted his palm, cradling Jake within... reminding Jake that while he’d used one palm to seal the Sword Saint, he had a second one available.

“Pillars of the Palm.”

With the Protean Arrow still halfway between them, five utterly gigantic golden fingers rose around them. Jake felt a powerful pull as he was about to be dragged into another world, but before it could happen, he also spoke.

“Event Horizon.”

The ground was swallowed as the five rising pillars of gold were consumed and dispersed, as all matter seemed to gather into a singular ring of light surrounding the Eastbound Monk. Any pull was gone, and with even greater momentum than before, the arrow continued toward the monk, who was still standing there with his hand cradled and wide eyes, staring into the world bereft of anything besides the two of them.

“Astonishing.”

Reality returned as the glimpse ended right before the monk was struck. He barely managed to move his arms in front of his body at the very last moment, but it was far from enough as both were pierced through before the arrow continued all the way through his body.

It penetrated his entire chest section before stopping, pierced straight through him while sticking out the other side. Unlike normal, the Protean Arrow didn’t disperse but instead stayed there, continually pumping toxins and destructive arcane energy into the monk’s body.

Despite his greatly heightened Toughness, dark green veins spread from the bucket-sized hole where the arrow was still lodged, and Jake didn’t hesitate to follow up, raising his hand and activating Touch to further empower the toxins.

Around the same time, Jake’s stat boost from the Staff of the Magi dispersed as he felt the power leave his body, but it had done enough. It had to have done enough.

The aura of the monk rapidly weakened as he tried to raise his hand to rip out the arrow, but between it and all the other damage he’d taken, he simply didn’t have the power to. Jake was also fairly sure that while his healing magic had mended his body, it hadn’t actually restored much of his vital energy.

Breathing heavily, Jake got closer to the monk as he didn’t stop using Touch of the Malefic Viper. The monk was looking down at the arrow but raised his head to look at Jake as he approached. He had a smile on his face as he slowly nodded.

“You... have shown me a truly wondrous sight.”

Jake slowly nodded as he felt the monk’s life force continue to weaken. Still, he couldn’t help but feel some kind of trepidation as he looked at the dying man, wanting him to finish the job quickly. Yet he also stopped himself out of sheer curiosity to see what the monk could possibly pull out at this juncture.

In either case, Jake quickly popped a rejuvenation potion to restore some of his resources, as no matter what, he had to get ready for when the Sword Saint made his return, which would probably happen when – if – the truly monk died.

“Glad you enjoyed the glimpse,” Jake said, keeping his distance somewhat, again, still keeping up Touch of the Malefic Viper.

“I sincerely did,” the monk muttered, a look of regret on his face. “Would you allow me to also show you something? I ask you sincerely, not rhetorically. Know that your answer shall determine whether my fight ends here or not.”

This was not a scenario Jake had ever found himself in before, where a dying opponent was asking him whether he could show off his final trump card or not. The smart choice would be to try to finish off the monk immediately... but Jake was Jake.

“Sure, but it better leave me in awe.”

The monk smiled and nodded as he looked at Jake and asked another question:

“Have you ever seen a Transcendent Artifact before?”

Before Jake could answer, a new aura fell over the battlefield, and floating behind the monk’s body, a giant wheel appeared. Jake stared at it with open eyes for a moment as if he were staring at the Gate of Enlightenment, but he quickly realized why when he picked up an energy signature... a very familiar one.

“A treasure left by the one I acknowledge as my teacher... the reason I can stand here today... why I survived the infection... so please, witness it...

The wheel started slowly turning; Jake’s ring of light from Event Horizon that was still active shattered apart, and the monk spoke as he invoked its power.

“Wheel of Samsara.”

Jake barely even registered the monk’s words as he was instead far too preoccupied with the aura given off by the wheel as he recognized its creator and felt it resonate with a certain tome left within his Soulspace.

The First Sage.

<AUTHOR NOTE>

And with that wonderful cliff, we go on break! Not my fault; we had a vote on Discord. To be clear, the cliff tomorrow would be twice as bad, but hey, this is manageable, right?

... right?

Anyway, have a wonderful summer, everyone, and see you all either randomly on Discord or on the 31st for the next mega cliff! Also... the balance of chapters ending on 5 or 0 has been restored. Yay.

Are you Zogarth because you leave us on cliffhangers? Or do you leave us on cliffhangers because you're Zogarth?

Jennifer Leigh

No wonder that guy is crazy. First Sage teachings all over.

Phantom

WHAT AN EVIL CLIFF OH GOD FIRST SAGE IS REMEMBERED

djthomp

Incredible cliffhanger, I'm not even mad. I know I was not the only one theorizing that the Monk has a connection to the First Sage and I'm glad to get the confirmation before the break.

Burkes

Consider this a Mail of Hate, Zogarth. Diabolical cliff.

Alexandre8901

I was not expecting that... the fuck!!

Staudi

Tyftc zog! Have a nice vacation!!

Daniel Brian

For those of you that don't know, Samsara is the Buddhist concept of rebirth. It also means "wandering." 😉

Micheal Cook

Well guess I need to get on discord. Have a great break!

Grimsayer

So the EBM is the First Sage's 3rd student then. Or possibly 2nd if he met him before Jake. I don't remember FS mentioning any other students.

Remify

Oh this gonna be sick

Nagy Ádám

Well dear author if that was the better cliff of the two thanks for not dropping that bolb before your break. Fucking hell Zogarth enjoy your summer.:)

Matt

Who has learned more from the First Sage? Jake or the monk?

Justin

So Jake about to get some tutoring it looks like and be stuck in a sim within a sim until he understands whatever concepts/lessons the first sage wishes to impart

BumAssBumAss

Interesting. How is the first sage connected to the eastbound monk? Assuming there is no history like there is with jake and his status as a chosen, the first sage might've done this specifically to give Jake more opponents to contest with.

Xerecs

Seems like the system seeded the new universe with items related to the first sage. First the boots and now this wheel.

Josie

Crush the wheel with your Boots, Jake!!

Fyrtue

Holy shit. What a banger chapter. I've long since theorized that the First Sage had something to do with the other primordials as well, with Stormild having even hinted that Jake should say hi to her friend before that vision. What an incredible way to bring it out though for Jake to see.

Sammot

Oh we are this close to having Jake turning his origin energy on himself!

Lemonsqueezy

Damn it Zog. I have to wait nearly a month to see the end of this. This is by far the most cruel cliffhanger you have ever done

Loststar7

I cannot properly express how much I hate you right now. Well played and hope you have the vacation you deserve.

Daniel Brian

I was just telling my buddy that he gave off First Sage vibes yesterday!

Jaydan Man

I'm furious. That was incredible this story is incredible and now I have to wait a month. This is a love hate reader author relationship.

Jason Rollins

This was a great fight and a crazy cliffhanger to leave us on that I will not be able to stop thinking about because what do you mean the other one is worse

levon

The student asked, 'Master, what came first, the chicken or the egg?' The master replied, 'Neither. First came the cliffhanger. Then came Zogarth

IntenseSushi

Tftc I had a soft theory the first sage was his teacher, wake me up when the break is over

Ben Prunier

PURE EVIL!!! I'm annoyed and impressed how you can leave us on that 😭😭

Kota

Before we forget: Any guesses what the danger in the monk's soul was, the one that made Jake cancel Gaze when he sensed it?

Ryan Smart

I love waking up to a fresh chappie and a refreshing screech from Sylphie!

Bmax

What the actual fuck is that cliff hanger?

Dave

The cliff is truly massive.

Dave

Lol

Alexis Cassaigne

CALLED. IT. People were mocking me when I said the Eastbound Monk had a little First Sage something, and now I feel vindicated.

Dave

The teaser in discord is crazy.

Silver Dawn

So wild thought but how sure are we that Villy killed the complete form of the First Sage. If even S grades can make avatars and clones how hard would it have been for the First Sage to do the same.

sigma

Oh no, he's a baldy. Eastbound badguy confirmed

phil

idk if id say a little first sage but it does make me question what is coming that has the first sage sending out artifacts to find or interact with the new talents of the 93rd universe. like cause now we know of the boots, the wheel, and the tome. I'm insanely curious if this is going to go in a way that the bad guys got their hands on one of the first sages artifacts and are using that to "infect" people or if maybe the reason the sage is now making moves is cause he foresaw the threat these people pose towards everyone. cause he seems to have some level of control within the system so i don't doubt he could have sent villy a sign or something after what villy went though but then again that might have just set him off so I'm so freaking hyped got wild dumb theory's running wild in my mind thanks Zog!

Sandy8oy

Yall better hang on this is a tall cliff

Patryk

Damn Zogarth you got as real bad *Screams of unded being burned by holy affinity in the background* Could've bolded cliff tho, it's your strongest skill so one should naturally use words of power when casting

definitelynotbrjenness

I called it Tom is eastbound who is Daofather who is also the first sage. All bow before me!!!!

1st sage is one 93rd of the system creator. Avatars sent to bring balance and stability and eternal growth to the system in order to prepare it for the challenges it will face in the 94th era.

Esch

The last Cliffhanger that was this evil was the Valdemar fight in Nevermore. Damn you Zog

This is a call to keyboards! no longer can we sit back and suffer at the hands of the oppressive authors! Today we unite! Raise your mice and roar! Antcliffha brothers and sisters, today is the day. Rise and fight! No longer can we sit quietly by and ignore the in justice of the cliffhanger!

C0bra$

Thank u for the story

ShadowFox

Bro has his hand all up in the pie.

Mrburns93

Is it the first sage? Or "a" sage? What if there are 12 sages placed or cultivated by the system to guide the future primordials to show them that higher strength is possible? To set them on the path to be the first gods

Dougie Mitchell

NGL, carving a little Protean Arrow with your name on it. Won't kill you but will make you step on Lego every day for a week

Alex

Eh, Valdemar was worse.

Alex

The only primordials who are known to have existed concurrently with the First Sage are Valdemar and Villy (those are the only two who are confirmed to have been around during the initiation of The System). The First Sage died in C grade — C grade humans have a maximum lifespan of 10,000 years, and we know The First Sage didn’t live out his full lifespan because Villy said that he intentionally created a Transcendent Skill which had the cost of reducing his life. We don’t know when exactly the rest of the primordials came to be, but we DO know that Rigoria wasn’t created until after Villy became a god, because the neurotars built Rigoria in an attempt to create their own god AFTER seeing first-hand how dangerous gods were. I’m not saying The First Sage had nothing to do with the other primordials, but I doubt he directly interacted with all the primordials. My guess is he did something fucky with the Records of the First Era so that any god who ascended in that era ended up with a powerful karmic connection to him.

Joken

Someone know a doctor who knocks me out for 3 weeks? Greatly appreciated!

Jean Jacques Widmaier

Have a great holiday, thanks for the wonderful story and all your dedication!

Shandlar

Seems like there's no direct connection. He found the artifact, probably through a system event and learned from it. He calls everyone he learns from his teacher, so the comment doesn't really even imply he's interacted with the first sage directly at all.

william

Well I love and hate this. Great job.

hlias balan

Well when Villy killed the FS he most likely would have gotten a kill notification so I don't think that likely

Heelstoo

When is the break over?? I need to create a calendar reminder.

Gabe Stankiewicz

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh what a freaking amazing cliffhanger to leave us with!!!! God damn this is gonna suck so badly but I truly hope you enjoy your vacation Zogarth! See you on the 31st! 🙏🎉❤️

Alex

September.

Alex

The First Sage had a Bloodline and at LEAST four Transcendent Skills. Bloodlines and Transcendent Skills are EXPLICITLY outside The System’s purview, so I consider that concrete evidence that he wasn’t a System entity.

Mrburns93

Its been said that blood lines and transcendents can skirt the systems rules but not outside of the system. And he wouldnt have needed to be system made or a system entity to be given a job. Or maybe it was a trade, find someone worthy and you'll receive power and knowledge. Also its just a theory, mad ramblings of a hopeful fan.

Rewdan

I think Tom may be a student of the First Sage

Rewdan

So now my watch begins. Thanks Zogarth great way to go on break.

Rewdan

I have penned several articles and posted on all social media! Let the uprising begin!

Alex

We know that Bloodlines get ‘recycled’ when their owner dies. The First Sage’s Bloodline purportedly gives its users perfect memory, but I think its TRUE function is that it allows its user to remember their previous lives. It’s called the Bloodline of the IMMORTAL Mind after all. I think The First Sage wanted Villy to kill him because he wanted to escape the cycle of reincarnation. I think that Villy killing The First Sage was a prerequisite that allowed him to acquire the Bloodline, and Villy having the Bloodline prevents The First Sage from reincarnating. Maybe this Wheel of Samsara was created by The First Sage. Maybe it just has similar records because nobody embodies the idea of Samsara more than the guy who could remember his previous lives. Either way, I think it’s further evidence that the grand secret behind The First Sage’s ridiculous existence was his ability to remember previous lives.

Alex

When Jake experiences The System’s avatar during the auction event, he realizes that The System truly is omnipotent; it could remove Bloodlines and Transcendent Skills if it wanted to, but it’s chosen to take a stance of non-interference. Bloodlines and Transcendent Skills ARE ‘outside’ of The System, because it allows them to be. It could crack down on them and bring them under its control, but it doesn’t because it learns new things from them.

most frantic

As always, this is bullshit. Love you, bye

Gracie

noooooooooooo!!! damn you zogarth!! my one weakness!! cliffhangers! i must feast on content or I shall wither away to dust!! tftc!! amazing as always. hope you have a good break! 🧘‍♂️🏹🐍

Anomander Rake

Woooooooow! I’m not even mad about this cliff. You’re topped yourself, yet again. Thanks for the chapter(s) and enjoy your break!

Dylan Hilliard

That cliff hanger is a banger! I knew it! The first Sage!

Admiral Dakbar

This might be one of the worst cliffs in a while, 3 weeks of nothing will be the end of me

Gh0st-Hunt3r

I fucken called it hahaha I wish jake would have just asked him if he knew the first Sage before now lol 😆 im also a Lil worried about what the monk can do with this wheel of samsara! --The wheel of samsara is a visual and spiritual symbol representing the endless cycle of life, death, and rebirth, driven by karma and human passions. Also known as the Bhavachakra or Wheel of Life, it explains how our actions and mental states keep us trapped in worldly suffering.-- there are MANY possibilities of what it can do 😵

definitelynotbrjenness

I am forming a consulting group to advise authors as to how to avoid unnecessary cliffhangers. They shall hire us or else!

Matthew Thompson

I believe everyone here is forgetting something he asked Jake if he could see it. Remember the rules of forbidden knowledge. Only Jake can see it because he is Jake. If he couldn't chances are the match would have ended right then because it would have been forbidden with others. Or so I theorize

Sospin

I recon it is going to allow EBM to take a skill he has witnessed, either replacing or at the next skill selection. Can't think how else he became so overpowered

Josh George

Ok. I'm pissed off now. Such a damn good cliffhanger. So damn rude. 😂

Xander

TFTC :) See y'all in a month, I guess :D Since EBM said that the sword was "A gift" from Eron, then Eron has to have ended himself. Otherwise the word gift isnt remotely appropriate. Suggested edits: " *as* Jake definitely had the advantage." this should be "and" since you are conveying that Jake has the advantage to the audience. "making him *instead* stop Touch of the Malefic Viper as he *instead* made his hand explode with arcane power" Repetitive. Honestly? I would ditch both. "to be so for ** eternity to come." feels like youre missing the word "an" here "energy circulate ** his body and into his bow." missing word "through" "weakened as he tried to raise his hand to rip out the arrow" Not so much a mistake but, you could have some reference to EBM having his forearms pinned to his chest by the arrow and pay it off here :) " the *truly monk* died." should be "monk truly" "still keeping up Touch of the Malefic Viper." This seems inconsisntent since you said Jake "stopped" before. Perhaps mention Jake pulling a katar in the previous section, that way Jakes stop refers to another attack rather than Touch which is his only current active damage source.

Kradish

First sage has a connection to all of the primordials - this doesn't mean EBM is directly connected to FS

Jimmy Owens

I screamed a scream I’m so excited to learn more about the first sage

Sheresik

I mean.. I voted for it, but this… this is just mean. Have a wonderful holidays

gray matter

You can’t leave until Shirtaloon gets back

Abhishek

I don’t mind but can you release the next chapter Sept 1st and give us 2 chapters?? No cliffs after ur back at least

ChRiAn

Can Jake kick the wheel to stop it? FS artefact vs FS artefact

AWKW1ZARD

I can honestly say this is the first time I've ever gotten goosebumps from a Cliffhanger. I have no idea what it means, but it probably carries some kind of significance. Perhaps it's the sheer malicious intent Zog just hit us with? Critical Damage!

Fyrtue

For sure. We also know Aeon wasn't around at the beginning since he came from a planet that hadn't seen any C grade native. Not saying the karma stuff isn't a possibility. My point was just that we might be finally getting some exposition on the significant karmic ties Eversmile noted when he was examining Jake's boots.

Jack Thomas

Today’s my birthday and I could not ask for a better chapter

Raynor Moore

Survived The infection?! Is there some lore about the monk I’m forgetting? O.O

Thenais

NOOOOOOOOooooooooooo !

Jax

I thought he just had a powerful karmic connection to the primordials because of his legacy skills; meditate and identify.

Alex

The Eastbound Monk claimed that the shadow faction who tried to kidnap Jake attempted to implant him with a Transcendent soul parasite. He claims that he fought off the parasite, and had the Daofather inspect the damage afterwards. According to the Daofather’s analysis, the parasite is only compatible with a ‘standard’ truesoul, so possessing a Bloodline or Transcendent Skill would render someone immune. (Note: these claims haven’t been corroborated by any source other than the Eastbound Monk, so they should be treated with some amount of suspicion).

Alex

Jake’s boots have an unusual karmic connection with the primordials, implying that the First Sage does as well. Meditate and identify being part of TFS’s legacy doesn’t explain that, because EVERYONE has those skills. If that was the root cause of the phenomenon then the boots would have a similar karmic connection to EVERYONE.

Christophe H.

I don't think the first sage is remembered by the daofather but I think the first sage had left tools to each primordial. The blood line of the viper, this transcendant wheel to the daofather... Probably a lot of things...

Christophe H.

We saw the first sage travelling through the void. Probably to teach to each primordial. Therefore the title of primordial isn't related the the first era but to the first sage.

Remify

I think In the same way the system gave Jake the first sage boots it gave the Eastbound Monk something somehow. My guess is that the system is trying to balance the actions of the secret faction somehow.

Chris Layman

I feel like you just tried to share forbidden knowledge with us. Too bad we didn't get a new chapter.

Russ798

I cant wait for the next conversation with Villy about this 👀

definitelynotbrjenness

you know, this palace could be only the first of several that reward points and advantages in the tower defense portion of the contest. World Wonder: think of the scope and size of nevermore and what we've been told of the mushroom wonder with areas from c grade to scary for primordials.

Daniel Brian

I'm actually afraid of that. What if he steals Event Horizon?

UNKNOWN

This is just a theory based on nothing but a wild guess, but I think it has to be compatible with his path. His path is not that of a hunter, he said so himself. If he (somefuckinghow) got Event Horizon, the skull would probably so different in every way from the orignal skill it would be its completely own thing.

Suzanne Pearson

Do yall remember, back in book 4, chapter 61, “ Sultan has wares if you have coin” where Sultan got his hands on an item from the tutorial. It was an epic Token of Akashic Awaking - and Villy told Jake to buy it for his boots. It mentions in the description that it awakens the records. It also says that it is unpredictable And that it might awaken other awareness associated with the item it is used on. So I think this is Zog’s first mention of The first Sage, in a roundabout way. It could also be the karmic threads with the primordial gods are found with this Token… The records are slowly awakened - yes, it takes years and numerous upgrades…. But I think this early awareness might have given the first sage time to learn and plot his path in the multiverse

NicN

Tftc is what I'd normally say but I hate this cliffhanger...

Zach138

So help me, if Jake gets inspired and pulls the book out of his soul to stun the Eastbound Monk, showing they are students of the same Master. With a battle between wheel and book leaving them both extremely exhausted and barely alive, only for Sword Saint's Spring to activate, because of his time fuckery, sending him into the future. Sword Saint returning as fresh as spring dew, only to see Jake and Eastbound at deaths door.

Medicine Man

We had a vote on patreon to nullify the discord vote. And ban off days. Anyway, i recognize that humans need time off and you sell a good product that i want more of; so I'll be here when u get back. Quiting cold turkey is hard. That was a good chapter you left me with.

And the best thing is, that Jake was supposed to encounter FS where 'twin worlds meet', and that suits this simulation perfectly

definitelynotbrjenness

Have you googled Akashic Records? It is interesting when you read it and look at the timing of the uses of akashic fragments and tokens along with appearance of first sage. What's really awesome is you can use the Google to support " the first sage is the mind virus" or "the first sage knew the mind virus faction was inevitable and did what was necessary to prevent it taking over".

definitelynotbrjenness

Why is he using people from 93rd? What did he leave Carmen, Jacob, Casper, Sylphie, and others?

definitelynotbrjenness

A wise patreon once said, "the way to infect the arrogant is to convince them they won."

definitelynotbrjenness

And he has to post an extra chapter whenever the first defier takes a day off.

definitelynotbrjenness

Only those infected with the virus can see it. Secret handshake. First sage is a rogue developer leaving Easter eggs that the exalted prima is trying to remove.

Suzanne Pearson

Nah. I feel Googling a book is pointless. For me, (who is 47, so I grew up with phones on the wall and no google), I love the thrill of looking for foreshadowing for my own self. Talking about it with fellow readers, such as in the comment section is wonderful, as that is simply super-fanning with people who love the same books as me. But googling just crosses that line for me from weird excitement and entertainment to….. letting someone else imagine everything for me. And what fun is that?

definitelynotbrjenness

How dare you insult the hive mind so dismissively? History is no longer written by the winners. History is now adjusted to create the next winners. On a more serious note, I use Google to inform me of what a normal person probably knows that my dumb ass has no idea about. Of course, i twist that information to fit whatever absurd theory I'm promoting at the time.

Xerecs

The tome was directly given by the First Sage, the boots was a system reward and the wheel is an unknown. Only one of these was as far as we know directly given.

Rewdan

Why am I checking for a chapter 😩 hope is devastating. Having to reread old chapters to get my fix.

Christophe H.

He didn't the only character from the 93rd with a relationship with the first sage is Jake. The monk using a tool from him is just a monk using an old tool from one of his oldest masters I guess.

definitelynotbrjenness

that's boring, I prefer theories that are two towns down the road from the one with the warehouse that contains the box.

Christophe H.

With the way to remember the first sage there is only three way to be in relationship with him and remember him : Transcendent memory, bloodline memory, and maybe be an heretic blessed by one of the primordial.

Christophe H.

By the way transcendant artifact maybe such a medium to meet the first sage.

Now excuse me, I'm off to find Patreons that are priced 4.98, 9.98, or so and ask the author "why?" in hopes that one says, "oh, that's because I neither need nor want your two cents."

cory eck

Im a bit upset. I pay for patreon and I will read up to the most current chapter that I can and then I put it away for a couple months so I can read a bunch of chapters on R.R. and then head over here to get my extra 50 so that all in all I have something close to 100-150 chapters I can binge read. Now I have to take a forced time off and wait for this to play out. I'm worried we might see Jake's first big loss and I'm not gonna lie I'm gonna be pretty cheesed if the broke down monk is the one to do it. Jake better have something tucked away in that big ol' soul of his to deal with the wheel. Tyftc damnit. 🙂

My theory is it is going to be a domain that is a small version of a divine realm for the EBM. However, Jake is going to be able to put up a fight with his anamolous soul and similar training from the first sage

DefinitelyNotMinaga

The new audiobook drops in 8 days. At least we will have Travis Baldree help us get the edge off until Zog returns.

DefinitelyNotMinaga

I'm re listening to the last two audiobooks since the new one drops in 8 days.

DefinitelyNotMinaga

The First Sage himself tells Jake he became aware of him during one of the visions because Jake's records were not of his time. Being able to perfectly recall all memories he knew what he was seeing was not from the original memory.

DefinitelyNotMinaga

Stormild did tell Jake something about a mutual friend which confuses Jake and has yet to be clarified, to which I assume could be the First Sage.

DefinitelyNotMinaga

Agreed. It is stated the BOOTS have Karmic connections to all primordials, so the FS has to be the source of said connections. The cliffhanger is perfect, we find out there's a connection to the EBM but were stuck waiting to find out how the hell that happened. FS is forbidden knowledge but is it also forbidden for the EBM⁉

Tamathon

I’m coming around to Sylphie getting a cool boyfriend, she’s all grown up!

DefinitelyNotMinaga

First Sage theories are my fav topic. He is forbidden knowledge so I wonder if it is currently forbidden knowledge for the EBM. The boots have karmic connections to all primordials and the FS is the source of said boots. In some roundabout way he also could have come to know of the sage due to his patron's connection to the boots/sage. Any skill related to the sage is bound to be Overpowered and at this stage in the fight there's no way this 'Wheel of Samsara' will be a simple skill relying on simple concepts. The Dao sect finally making a move during this event, the reveal that they are aware of the Oblivion faction, the mind virus and the connection to the First sage tells me shit is getting real.

Gh0st-Hunt3r

For sure and im fricken loving it, just when you think shit can't get any more complicated, out comes some complex concept or skill that can tip the balance! Simply, Amazingly, Exquisite writing my dude.

Gh0st-Hunt3r

I'm on Chapter 7 of the LitRPG Book im writing and I never in my life thought I would find writing so fun and exhilarating! I allways wanted to write stories but it wasn't until I found The LitRPG Genre that I finally found something I love to write and am actually pretty good at🥰🤩 I even sent my first couple chapters to some readers on here and on the primal hunter Discord channel and they loved it. Even went so far as to ask me when im going to start posting chapters on Royal Road. I can't wait to start.

Christophe H.

Maybe but it may be someone else too

Rewdan

I still can’t preorder it

Black Brad

Does anyone know if Zogarth is ok? Haven’t seen any new chapters. Or did I miss something ?

Fyrtue

He's on summer break until August 31st

Lynderyn

The First Sage is forbidden knowledge as he is who helps those that become gods. Gods are not allowed to remember this, as it would change their behavior if they knew a mortal had interacted with The First Sage. Vilas does not know this as not all mortals realize the assistance or need the assistance to become gods, but all of those, including all of the Primordials, were taught by The First Sage. This was shown by the karmic connections to the boots. Vilas ‘lost’ them as it was time for another primordial to be given them.

definitelynotbrjenness

I checked his house. He's not home. on a side note, I now have a new gaming PC, some really good beer, and a couple brand new ac units.

beeve

Like what? The first sage was the only thing that makes sense

Christophe H.

An other primordial, or pinnacle God. Maybe a bound god with a specil personality. There is multiple possibilities in a multiverse.

BRETIN Clément

I am reminded of Mahoraga's wheel in JJK; I don't think he will "steal" a skill of Jake or the Sword Saint, but maybe he will "evolve" to a variant of himself capable of resisting the current version of the Event Horizon.

Daniel Brian

That makes sense, and at the same time seems even more broken than just stealing a skill lol

definitelynotbrjenness

Does the mystery faction want Jake for his juice or for his ability to project into a soul and whoop ass? Does this have anything to do with why the demons allowed a prince to attempt a ritual that at "best" case resulted in creating a monster that would take over the prince? Duskleaf is the creator of the mind virus and leader of the mystery faction. Who else knew that jake had an unusual soul ability and the timing of him leaving the pantheon of life?

DefinitelyNotMinaga

JJB4345_80_815

I'm reading book 16 now in order to get my fix. Well, re-reading it now that it's in book form.

JJB4345_80_815

Eh, the Nevermore break when Jake was about to fight Valdemar's image in the Coliseum of Mortals was a bit rough.

JJB4345_80_815

The First Sage is dead, BUT that doesn't mean he's gone, not if he's responsible for The Wheel of Samsara. He made several Transcendent Skills. It looks like one of those Transcendent Skills involved rebirth/reincarnation.

JJB4345_80_815

Yes, thank you for the chappy and the story and have a VERY happy vacation Zogarth!

JJB4345_80_815

How will the Wheel of Samsara react to Jake? Will it recognize him as a student of the First Sage? How will it react to him being the Harbinger of Primeval Origins, which allows beings that once were to find rebirth in the present age. Can the Wheel even trap Jake in worldly suffering since his Bloodline is so Instinctual? What about Eternal Hunger? So many possibilities...

JJB4345_80_815

I'd say that you must be blessed by Minaga, but since Unique Lifeforms can't give out blessings, I'll just assume that you carry a Divine blessing from the Seeker. 😂

JJB4345_80_815

It's Minaga. None of the Gods used Skills, something that Minaga can't do. All of his magic is Freeform. He witnessed Jake using his Juice to evolve Jasper. Minaga said goodbye to them right before they left the Pantheon of Life. He also didn't even send a mortal clone with them, something that he could have easily spared. Oras labeled the faction as "Seekers of that which is not theirs." How many times has The All-God Legion bemoaned the fact that he can't give out blessings, have children, and denied skills? It was a Soul Poison, and Minaga shares his TrueSoul with all of his copies. Who would be better at hiding a secret God Tier Faction than a Dungeon Master? Since one of the best ways to advance in power is via dungeons? Ever since Nevermore Minaga has been fascinated by Jake, including visiting the Endless Empire just to observe Vesparia. All of these things point to Minaga.

JJB4345_80_815

Crazy thought: Minaga, or one of his clones infected with a soul parasite, was responsible for the attempted kidnapping of Jake after leaving the Pantheon of Life. In book 16 we get info about how the Seeker and Minaga know each other. Basically, they are the tip of the spear in terms of exploring dangerous areas of the multiverse. Anyone remember Stargate SG-1 and the Gu'aould? Brain parasites that could take over and puppeteer human hosts? What if a very strong clone of Minaga ventured to far in a secluded place and became a host of a sentient (& powerful) Soul Parasite? Maybe it too was a Unique Lifeform with Soul Manipulation abilities a bit different from the Golden Forest King, seeing Minaga as a natural adversary? It infects and puppeteers a Minaga clone, is able to separate the clone from the rest of the other Minagas, but still able to keep apprised/spy on the other clones via a week connection. Still, the Soul Parasite now takes on some of the attributes of its host: It has no access to skills just like Minaga (& the Gods that ambushed Jake) and can use its Minaga host to make more Minaga clones COMPLETE with a clone of the Soul Parasite that can then be harvested and put into other Gods, though also transferring the inability to utilize skills via the parent host's weakness. Since Minaga is a Dungeon Master, the Soul Parasite over the course of several Eras, uses that knowledge to build countless dungeons which allows the Soul Parasite to raise up its own group of unaffected gods that can give out blessings. None of the Primordials recognized the 2 gods above Godking that ambushed Jake's group. What better place for them to be secretly grown than in a vast secret network of dungeons built by a corrupted Minaga? If the Soul Parasite can also spy on the other Minagas, it would have witnessed Jake using his Juice to evolve Jasper AND saw Minaga say goodbye to Jake just before leaving the Pantheon of Life. Since we are in the middle of the Great Zogarth Drought, I figured that I'd share my suspicions. Of course, maybe it's not a Soul Parasite and just regular Minaga pulling strings, but I kinda hope that the goofball is innocent. 😇

Gh0st-Hunt3r

Exactly! I Fricken LOVE this book series 🤩😍

DefinitelyNotMinaga

Trash theory. Try again.. but think some more next time.

DefinitelyNotMinaga

I am starting to take offense to these baseless inflammatory accusations. Other Minagas may start to mess with you...in fact I heard one is plotting to screw your credit score, another said something about spraying weed killer on all plant life within a 100 mile radius of your residence.

JJB4345_80_815

That's what I would expect a DefinitelyNotMinaga to say. I'm re-reading book 16 again and Oras called the abductors "Seekers of that which is not theirs." (Chapter 59) Minaga is the All God Legion, and has been interested in Jake since the first time he met him in Nevermore. Minaga even went so far as to bug the Endless Empire in order to check on Vesperia. Who better than an army of Dungeon Builders to secretly create a faction filled with powerful unknown gods? Gods that didn't use skills just like Minaga can't. I DON'T WANT IT to be Minaga, but there are a lot of clues that point in his direction. He has motivation (lamenting multiple times his inability to give blessings) and opportunity (was RIGHT THERE to say goodbye as they left without even a mortal clone to accompany them back to the order of the Malefic Viper), so my HOPE is that something else is copying some of Minagas playbook. I've thought plenty about this, thank you very much.

JJB4345_80_815

I did laugh at this response 😂 To each his own

DefinitelyNotMinaga

You've thought about nonsense a lot. You're welcome very much.

JJB4345_80_815

Now you're sounding more like the Golden Forest King, with these ad hominem attacks. You're basically attacking me for even making the argument instead of discussing WHY you find it so illogical. I've made my points already why I think the way I do, and instead of reasonable debate or any attempt to counterargue you are lazily dismissing it. That is an emotional response. Why waste the time to reply if what I said was worthless? I can only surmise that my theory upset you, made you mad and angry, and you are attempting to reciprocate in kind. My first comment started with "CRAZY THOUGHT." People that read that, if they find the next few sentences to be crazy usually stop reading and move on with their lives. I apologize if my theory has upset you, but I readily admit that it's just a wild theory. It's a pattern based upon minimal clues without knowing even a fraction of the entire picture. So why the antagonistic response?

definitelynotbrjenness

Evil Minaga would have to send hunters to kill Minaga's before he can let new evil minaga's out of hidden spaces because of the limit on Minaga's . Sooo ... he created a mind controlling fungus to build an army of non-minaga clones to hunt down Minaga's and also try to instigate anti-minagas sentiment to encourage others to kill Minags's.

DefinitelyNotMinaga

*takes out popcorn* Okay I like that idea :-P but if anyone feels attacked by Minaga simply being the troll he is is beyond this Minaga. I like troll theories and theories based entirely on canon material rather than speculation. If I troll just troll me back no attacks intended.

DefinitelyNotMinaga

Btw on the oblivion faction and mind virus theories, I am waiting for elaboration on the topics to actually post my thoughts. It is all very mysterious for now and too new to really flesh out a theory that can be backed up by provided context. For all I know you could have hit the nail in the head about some random rogue Minaga lol but for now I'll keep obsessing about theories of the First Sage. I like those better since we have just enough info to make us question a lot.

JJB4345_80_815

I've got crazy theories on the First Sage as well, but I was going to wait a few days to post them. Re-reading book 16 and probably have to read the important chapters in book 15 before collecting my thoughts on the matter.

definitelynotbrjenness

The first sage is the community manager assigned by the system developers to communicate and drive engagement with system users. Often he is tasked with assisting the community in understanding the the behind the scenes changes made with the integration of new universes. For example in the 92nd, the first sage worked with alteus the blade to promote the new paths of upward mobility in God hood and factions. However, that ran in to a bit of a snag, so they have expanded the same theme in the 93rd

Rewdan

You see this is what happens when Zogarth leaves us to our own devices. Let’s gather a band of adventures to seek out Zogarth and bring him back early from his holiday and re-establish peace in the multiverse.

definitelynotbrjenness

definitelynotbrjenness

another of my always perfectly accurate predictions: An opposing faction attempts weakening jake's faction by approaching SS with "you are so capable. why do you allow yourself to be limited to being the attack dog of the chosen of the malefic viper?" They would then try to manufacture situations in which the Nobaru faction feels it is being ordered around by jake and his faction. Much to Jake's frustration, SS and Miranda decide to go along with the scenario and manufacture a conflict between jake and SS to draw out those attempting to stir up trouble. In the end, a hidden faction of vampires who felt betrayed by the malefic viper since Sanguine was killed is discovered and eliminated... by duskleaf, the son of sanguine

definitelynotbrjenness

Minaga suspects being around Jake helps even gods level and might suspect the possibility of jakeification by osmosis might have possible positive impacts when invading another god's domain. That is why he is trying to get as many of his clones exposure to Jake as possible.

J

So an idea struck me about who this faction may be. The ones trying to recruit people. Could they possible be people outside the System? The viper says that there’s very little robotic or mechanical universes get integrated into the system. That being said, I’m assuming there’s other limitations of other species that the system doesn’t allow to integrate. The system allows for power structure however I assume that there’s other types of power that’s not system granted you have bloodlines for example. Well, all that being said, I think the people in charge of this or possibly outside the system and they won’t control of the exalted prima for its simulation capabilities in order to show the people inside the system what it looks like, staring in from outside the system.

DefinitelyNotMinaga

What if the First Sage is known by the other Primordials by different names and they are all unable to share their version of his forbidden knowledge? Better yet, what if they all have a secret mentor that aided them in becoming gods? What if all these mentors are connected or acted in concert to bring about a certain outcome? What if they are aware of an era before the first or some sort of reset that is now forbidden knowledge?

Jeff

Man i am glad i waited to read all of these chapters at once. That said almost wish i had waited longer with that cliffhanger just sitting there like that!

Ryan Haywood

Wouldn’t need book recaps if you released the books that are already written instead of having it all set up as a money grab…

genkism

I had a feeling he was familiar with the first sage. Him having seeming genius level mastery of so many disparate techniques made it seem likely there were some first sage shenanigans.

definitelynotbrjenness

let us take a moment to appreciate miranda's role in this story. Without her, Jake could have easily turned into something similar to a super powered beast. Not known for aggression, but to residents of earth lacking in understanding of him, he was still cause of much fear whenever he appeared.

genkism

I love this idea

definitelynotbrjenness

Zog! Are you there yet? No? okay we'll entertain ourselves with a poll: rate yourself as a reader on a scale of 1 to 10. 10 being i want every thing described to me in the greatest detail so I know exactly what it looks like. 1 being give me the barest of descriptions and get on with the story. my mind will fill in the details. I'm around a 2.65476456 or 2.65476457 (juggling motion with hands) being much more interested in guessing what characters are going to do then I am in having all the details to perfect my cosplay of Sven's armor worn to the first world congress. how about you?

definitelynotbrjenness

I think I've seen where authors frequently make the most off of kindle, so when you factor in time value of money, it's kind of the opposite of a cash grab. Besides, if Zog eliminated Patreon and Royal Road, It would make no sense for me to always introduce myself as a patreon of primal hunter. And I just received the badge I had made. it would be a shame to no longer be able to wear it.

ABTelford

I wish for a random chapter drop. 🙂‍↕️

I’m hoping to see Jake upgrade Arcane Awakening by integrating Lesser Primeval Energy into it like he did with one of his alchemy skills. Like, maybe he adds a mode/setting that lets him do a lesser version of what he did against Valdemar in the Colosseum of Mortals. The name could be changed to “Lesser Primeval Arcane Awakening” bringing his boosting skill to Mythical rarity or maybe even beyond that, but without the aspects of divinity that comes with the Sacred Rarity.

beeve

This wait is unreal

Brian Schutt

Laughing at all these posts to fill the time before the story continues. But this I can debunk. Duskleaf is from Fourth Era. Sanguine studied under Villy in the Fifth Era. I think.

definitelynotbrjenness

You may know that one of the most effective covers for books is "looking from behind hero towards monster". I want to use "backside of monster" to see if anybody figures out there is a hero standing in front of the monster.

definitelynotbrjenness

Don't believe fake news. The reason there are whale and shark skeletons in the Sahara is because that is where the dragons (the bumble bees of the lizard species) stopped to eat a snack. Open your minds. Get educated people. All the info is out there, we just need to put 2 and 2 together to make 7.

I just got a response from an author (source, trust me bro.) They said, "We'll look into it."

DefinitelyNotMinaga

I like when there is enough explained for me to form theories, many complex topics can be vaguely alluded to early on leaving room for further exploration as the story progresses. Keeps me on my toes trying to piece it all together.

I guess if you wanna frame it that way I guess but more nuanced like including the heavenly path and the earthly path or what ever those two were called.

Fyrtue

We're in the final days! Only 1 weekend to go!

Seen Death

You gave an idea for a character, but what were you thinking for the purpose of his relevance? Not everyone in a faction have identical mindsets, so i guess it wouldnt be impossible... but "making everyone want to punch him" in the mercenary faction that lives to fight... would translate to everyone punching him lol It is interesting to think about though, who would be stronger? The actual son of valdemar or the runemaiden (at similar levels) I would want to say runemaiden would be stronger Not sold on the idea, but i am curious if you had more input on the matter - i might be too narrow minded and am only seeing a extremely minor side character that gets ruthlessly beaten by carmen at best lol But idk why they would be interacting too much to begin with, let alone with Jake (what i believe is your implied purpose?)

definitelynotbrjenness

The point was "Sheldonomar- spouting legends nobody else understands taunting people to attack him. Can't fight but delulu legends himself into being really tough. Funny. Ha ha."
