I’m compelled to admit that I’ve been holding off on reviewing this fig for a long while now. Mostly in anticipation of PCB’s damaged suit Rami Spider-Man that’s been in the RexMinifigures production hell hole.

(TLDR: PCB sold multiple fig designs to Rex, and Rex hasn’t delivered on those products in over three years and counting, so now BrothersFigure are gonna take on the designs and produce them at a future date, probably something crazy like 2026 or something so they're running fundraisers and ya gotta send them a bunch of google forms and yeah... it's a big mess)

But with that being said, I just didn’t want to wait any longer! PCB has good figs that have been sitting in my desk in anticipation of other figs and I just wanna start talking about them again!

It’s funny looking at this fig through the lens of 2024, given how I preordered the thing back in 2021. Frankly (and this might make some folks mad) this fig is impressive and disappointing at the same time for me.

As a preorder from 2021, the fig didn’t even ship to me until early 2023. So there was already a year and a half of waiting, for just two layers of print over a shiny green base coat. This fig is rather simple looking. Perhaps a bit to its detriment?

I mean come on! The pumpkin bomb has more color layering than the fig itself! (it’s a good pumpkin bomb… tbh I think I like it even a  bit more than Jaka’s… it coulda been more orange tho…)

As for the other custom molded elements included, you get a goblin helmet that’s nearly as big as the fig! That head so wildly long and funny shaped that I wonder what the cause for this was. It’s so… action figure like. It doesn't feel like Lego.

If you’ve ever seen a minifig you know what I’m talking about. This element isn’t stubby or squareish or Lego-y in anyway. It looks like it belongs to something made by Hot Toys

Not only that, but based on initial renders, that eye color also isn’t nearly as impressive.

We’ve looked at another Rami Goblin before, and the shaping of this helmet is wild compared to other.

I know I'm sounding a bit sour here, but that helmet is the make-or-break for me. When you look at the two side by side, the PCB face has this teeny tiny little upturned nose that too high on the face, there’s no texturing inside the mouth, the gold eyes are too flat in color… it’s all just a bit… fine.

There are some definite pros and cons to each of these figs in their own ways. AF’s fig has a Lego-like Gobby Helmet, PCB’s is a much brighter green, AF’s has nice depth in the print design, PCB’s base coat ink isn’t as crackled and the overall production quality is well refined.

The two are great from a solo point of view, but I find it fascinating at how much they differ! But hey! They’re both good or both bad or both just fine depending on your opinion. Don’t listen to me, I'm just some guy on the internet!

However! (here I go trying my best to stay partial!) If this PCB fig was the only Rami Green Goblin you could get your hands on, it’s solid! I even appreciate that this fig came with an official Lego hairpiece! Not every single custom fig needs weird custom hair when the official stuff works just perfectly :P

I’ve also said it a hundred times by now, but PCB absolutely nails facial designs! Those Norman Osborn expressions are just perfect!

All in all, was it worth the $100 and the long wait times? I’m definitely being a little harsh here at the end of the day. It’s still quite competently made and the shiny green is really great. Maybe if I’d reviewed it a year or two ago my perspective would be different? I really like it… but also I don’t think I’d hold on to it forever if say LifeBrick made one down the track… But for now I’ll let you guys be the judge!

Which do you like better? Amazing’s, of PCB’s?
