LCM's NWH Goblin Glider Accessory Pack (Patreon)
Content
So here’s something funny! I bought one of those DLC packs that were all the rage a few years back and didn’t buy the source fig it was intended to go with! Take that ya money hungry scoundrels!
For context, LegendC MOC produced this really weird looking NWH Green Goblin that frankly had such a terrible design I couldn’t bear to pay for it, but its glider… that was some premo stuff!
I’m gonna start with all the extra bits first though, like the pumpkin bombs! They’re about the same size as PCB’s only with peg connections instead of anti-studs (we’ll circle back to this). They have quite a significant amount of depth to them, and are even a bit more orange in color! All in all I quite like them!
Then of course there’s the custom “unprinted” legs that are designed to get your Gobby in his zooming crunchy pose, although the irony being that they have these extra bits on the bottom of the feet so the studs align back up to a standard 1x2 connection. They’re decent quality drumlaqured (or possibly spray painted considering the white exposed plastic…?)
However neither of my current Gobby figs match this darker green color all that well...
There’s also a freaky lookin Norman Osborn head with two expressions! They’re a bit over the top, but it works for the “battle damaged” look if you give him some scraggly hair.
If this was any other actor being portrayed in Lego, I’d say this bit too much linework for my taste, but for Willem Defoe, they’re really fun! Kinda wish the goggled side wasn’t printed so low on the head though…
Okay but of course it’s time for the main event! The meat and potatoes!
This glider is snazzy! With five different connection points, you can really have some fun with this piece! For starters there’s an anti-bar connection on the underside that allows you to connect clear parts for easy suspension! Then on the top, there are two hollow studs that can assembly port the two pumpkin bombs.
But uh... I tried however and wow! They do not fit! 😑
Of course there’s also the two solid studs on the top for any minifig to pilot the glider! I have a pretty anxious concern that the silver will chip or fade or ink will flake after half a dozen photoshoots, but as it looks now, it’s good stuff!
There’s a really nice amount of 3D-modeled greebling all around the thing that just looks stellar! From the exhaust pipes, the blades, the stabilaizers, and more, there’s a lot of fragile looking pokey-bits.
Thankfully this entire piece has been made out of some slightly less dense plastic or filament (compared to ABS plastic) that on minor stress testing, bend with some strong finger pressure. Truly some nice craftsmanship here with consideration to it's fragile design nature.
And for everything we looked at today, all of it was well worth the $60 I mean hell, the glider alone in my mind is worth the $60! With a price like that, you can’t beat it!
Huh… I guess there is a slight benefit to these weird DLC packs… even if you didn’t buy the fig in the first place 🤔
