BTAS: BatBricks vs BlackStar! (Patreon)

This will be a comparison for the ages!

Two fantastic Batman figs that in their own right, are an amazing thing to own, but now I have two of them!? I must be dreaming!

These two are fascinating to look at side by side! I love them both but wow! It’s wild how much design liberty BlackStar took with their fig. The belt and waist area draw my eyes the most.

The waistlines are so strange when the belt is going to wrap around the torso! Sure your brain sort of autocorrects it to look fine, but then you stand it next to BatBrick’s fig and that torso just looks funky. Even the raised arch in the belt looks odd. The flatline belt on BatBrick’s is much more Lego-like in my mind.

Blackstar holds a little more on BatBrick’s fig is only just for the over-the-shoulder cape it was also included with, but comparing the two’s default capes, BatBricks and again takes the cake with the double sided printing!

Same goes for the cowl! Things get really wild when you start to swap parts around 👀

The cape swapping looks great, but the cowl swapping, not so much 🤷🏻‍♂️

It's a relief that BatBrick's cowl also looks pretty solid with Blackstar’s secondary over-shoulder cape too!

I’m very happy to say that being able to mix and match parts from both is really satisfying :)

Honestly I’m just shocked at how nice BatBrick’s fig turned out! Genuinely a home run of a custom minifig! I'm leaning a little more in favor of that fig for a handful of reasons, but both of them are genuinely lovely :)
