Now isn’t this a treat!

A buddy of mine was downsizing their collection and sent me this absolute ancient fig that shockingly still holds up today!

This custom fig from 2013 was part of a three character launch, back when EclipseGrafx still printed PAD! Figs that, while are a bit rough around the edges by today’s standards, absolutely blew people’s minds over a decade ago!

(not my photo - sourced from flickr)

Keep in mind this was before Lego themselves were commonly printing on legs and arms, and waaay before dual molded limbs were commonplace! EG not only gave us multi-colored printed arms, and wrap around boot print with the toes covered, but they added a fabric jacket to sweeten the deal!

I mean come on! This fig is over ten years old and the tech was so advanced for its day! Truly impressive stuff then and now in 2024!

While the jacket on mine is a bit worn down, the print itself is still in pretty decent condition! Up until now I didn’t even think this fig had back-torso printing! Look how clean that is for 2013!

It’s a shame my pal didn’t have the full set of figs, because Cyclops has been a white-whale of mine for a looooong time now! Haha! :P

I mean just look at it next to Diamond Custom’s Rogue from a few years back! Diamond really over complicated their design when compared to this classic EG fig

While I want to give Diamond the props for taking on the character, EG truly nailed this fig!

The original 2013 retail price was around $30 dollars (so closer to $40ish today) and was a pioneer in the custom minifig community. It’s a shame EG followed a different path…

I can only wonder what their figs might look like today… 🤔
