ZKJ Bricks Orange Lantern Lex Luthor (Patreon)

Ya know, this review might be a bit sparse on the account of this fig having… well almost no printing on it!

No matter how you slice it though, ZKJ is doing some good box-checking for me! Another comic based fig that’s never been made before! They’re gonna give MrJ a run for their money :P

With what little print this fig has, it’s okay! The Orange Lantern emblem is clean and well sized! But the head design for Luthor feels a bit off. I think it might be the overall line-thickness that’s getting me. Like when you look at it next to an official Lego design you can see what I mean, especially around the eyes and mouth.

Outside of that though, this fig is all about the parts! And boy does he have custom armor up the wazoo! 

The arm and leg elements are clearly custom given their slightly stronger opacity. The torso armor is clearly made from a different plastic than the others. It’s slightly more transparent, and (I was shocked to discover) it’s official lego from what I can tell. But how ZKJ got a hold of them though is beyond me 🤷🏻‍♂️

All the parts fit on the fig well! Nothing too tight or too loose. It certainly helps that the fig contains all Official Lego elements (peep those logos!)

One thing I wish we could have gotten would have been a transparent orange Lantern. While the inclusion of solid colored one here is nice, it looks a little out of place when next to the fig.

But with all that said, this guy came out to be $60 when I picked it up in January and that price fits alright. Reasonably I would have hoped for something in the $40 range though since there’s hardly any printing to speak of, but the hobby doesn't pay for itself 🤷🏻‍♂️
