HadesDCBrick - DC Rebirth Wally West (Patreon)

It has been a hot minute since I’ve last talked about Wally West! Hades came out in full force yet again for this impressive(?) custom fig! Lots of really nice and shiny silvers, wrap around print, and of course, the almighty… #IncompleteLegs 😑

I’ve been sitting with this fig on my desk for a while now, and I’ve been struggling to think of what to do with it. You can’t put him in any running poses or else you’ve got this thick band of bright red blinding your eyes!

Running is LITERALLY ALL FLASH DOES! That’s his THING and Hades gave us a fig that looks like this when you pose him to run! Gahhhhh! >:(

idk guys... this fig was gonna be one of those great ones with its super clean print and shiny ink, but that little lack of detail may have just killed it for me. Like the rest of the fig is pretty good! We even get two expressions for the head! But the missing ink is a real shame… 😔

However, there’s more to look at! The other (potentially) standout aspect of this fig was going to be the hair/cowl… but again… it’s just missed the mark for me as well.... for one thing, the wings are too high on the sides of his head (but that's a design decision I don't personally meld with)

It's well a made element, but in terms of alignment, it sits a little high for the head print, leaving the eyes not entirely centered in the mask. Don’t get me wrong, it was produced quite well! But a bit more refinement would have been nice.

Hell, the thing doesn't even line up with any official Flash minifig head let alone it's own included heads!

Weirdly, it’s not the print that’s too low. Toss the custom printed heads inside an official flash cowl and it lines up (almost a little too high up ironicly)!

But those legs man… The dark red isn’t even color-matched all that well to the plastic! I mean it almost looks like their Pad Printer was running low on pigment or something for that left leg in particular… Also I seem to ask this every time we deal with #IncompleteLegs, but why would Hades give us fully 360° printed limbs, but not the tops of them?!

Yeah man… I’m bummed that this fig came out looking like this at the $75 price tag.

Oh and this is totally a nothing-complaint, but the entire fig was caked in dust because of its foam casing. Just like, every single angle of this fig was just COVERED in little particles 🙄

This was a fig that would've blown my mind back in 2016 when DC Rebirth was still on newsstands and inside your ipods or whatever. But today... It’s just an alright overpriced mediocre custom. Like a 6/10. A decent meal but they didn’t give you a fork. A Spider-Man Clone Saga level of fun until it isn’t fun anymore.

A Flash that can’t run, is just not Flash to me 😔
