Well here we are, finally! Let's recap the journey!

I preordered these four spider-figs from RexMiniBrick back in 2021! But over a year of radio silence from Rex, and by the tail end of 2022 it seemed as though Rex took the money and ran. Not just from me, but from everyone.

It was a huge punch on the gut to folks like myself that up until these, hadn’t ever really had a problem with preordering custom figs. It was an even bigger wake up call for the community at large.

By 2023, yet another year had passed before action was finally taken by Phoenix to get his designs printed. So with the help of a handful of community members, BrothersBrick were allotted to be the new production team to print these figs and finally get the ball rolling again!

Finally by mid 2024, there were a bunch of fundraisers launched to inevitably recoup the loss so folks wouldn’t have to pay again. Unfortunately those fundraisers were a bit short, resulting in a minor payout consumers had to provide to insure they were going to get their figs.

TierOne took up the mantle of handling the "reorders for the preorders" 😵‍💫 by taking proof of purchases from folks like me with RexOrders, and turning that into a registry of sorts.

That fee for myself was approx $70 (based on the number of figs I submitted for reorder)

So with all that said! Here’s how these four figs all broke down!

$70 - (Amazing Garfield)
$85 - (Rami v2)
$160 - (Shiny Tom Holland + express shipping)
$70 - (TierOne Reorder)

Leading to a final total of = $445 🙄

Phew!

So if that doesn't set the tone for the upcoming reviews of these four figs, then I don’t know what to tell ya! Frankly I’m a little jaded about these four, but we’ll get into that with each review in time!

Other than Rex, there really isn’t anyone to blame here, but there’s still a chip on my shoulder for the lack of accountability this hobby can sometimes bring out of brands. With a lot of this hobby revolving around the Hong Kong region, for folks like PCB that operate here in the states, there can be a delayed disconnect in communication.

But for now! Nearly four years after I ordered these figs, they’re finally here! And let me tell you, my thoughts on them have aged! Some for the better, some not as much.
