Now when I said I was surprised at how I thought this fig wouldn’t compare to BrothersFigure… the custom parts are what really blew it out of the water! That helmet mold is out of this world! The hair that circles out the back and around to the front of the torso is lovely, and the tiny pin-points around the eye section really make this fig look sharp! Not to mention that whatever method used to apply the gold shine to the fig didn’t take away from the sharpness of the mold like it did with BF’s.   But the really really neat aspect of this fig was the armor!

Magnets!? Freakin magnets! Dude!

Embedded into the armor and wing brackets are these teeny tiny little magnets that wasn't just a really cool engineering idea, but completely lends the figure to so many more dynamic poses compared to a static non-moveable elements of BF’s.

While the two-part wing elements are neat, they're not the most screen accurate however. Not to mention that the left wing of my particular copy was loose around the clip section of the wing. These little clips are not removable either without seriously damaging the part. The C-shape of said clip is enclosed around at least ¾’s of the bar of the wing element, so I didn't even make an attempt to remove it.

And of course while we’re on the subject of the armor, the half-torso concept really lends itself to a much more slimming figure (comparatively). I also really like the way the neck section is actually raised to wrap around the neck of the minifig head. It only adds a little height, but doesn’t over extend the look of the fig to the point of fudging with minifig proportions.

Also also… here’s another gold comparison.

But hey, come back tomorrow for the big head to head comparison of both Oz and BF’s figs!
