Okay, so here’s a bit of context for you all that don’t know nothin about nothin’

The Destiny’s Hand Flash is an evil(?) version of The Flash that only showed up once in a JLA story by Dan Jurgens back in the 90s… or as far as I can tell. Couldn’t find any other references to him so yeah. Another hyper-obscure Flash variant that Christo pulled out of the woodworks that I’m glad to have a version of (despite my growing problems with his PR)!

Now it’s hard to say this is a perfect figure. It’s actually rather simple by comparison, given how many other custom minifig producers could spit this one out within a few months tops!

I quite enjoy the printed armbands. It’s something that should really be on all of Christo’s Flash figs these days since he’s constantly re-releasing them. But while that’s a nice addition, Christo didn’t even include The Lightning Squad logo on his left shoulder, which feels like a big oversight considering that this character solely derives from that book about the particular team where they all dawn said logo.

So point’s for the arm bands, but points off for not fully getting the details right. (honestly this is just like The Pollux Flash not having boot-print all over again)

Speaking of boots! Christo is still hesitant to print 360 around the legs of his figs despite dozens of other customizers running circles around the exicution these days. Not even dual molded legs with subtle printing!

It’s no doubt intentional at this point to assume it’s more about collection design consistency as a whole (since the OG Bucket Helmet Flash didn’t have the tech at the time for fully printed legs). But today, in 2021, it almost feels like a hold-out to be cheap, which I know from experience that Christo is anything but.

And last but not least, the bucket helmet doesn’t even line up with the print on the head it came with. A simple thing like that is just like… a huge bummer.

But at $120 bucks, with months of customer frustrations… I am again only mildly impressed with Christo’s work. If you were to sell this fig at $80 without making any major changes and sending them out on time, then maybe I’d have a different opinion.

Honestly the biggest compliments that I can give this fig go to it’s production. The mold of the helmet and the print applications are both extremely clean. Still some of the absolute best in the custom market. But cleanliness alone can’t hold up a figure when the lack of certain current design standards aren’t being held, all while the customer service is so poor for such a huge price tag.

I’ve been collecting from him for long enough now that I remember when I paid $70ea for the original two Flash/Reverse Flash figs nearly eight years ago and they were sent out within a week, no questions asked.

There’s really no nice way to put it when I’m paying for a superfluous collectible.
