Jaka Brick AoU Thor! (Patreon)

Jaka is back at it again with another killer fig! And they’re nothing if not consistent with their big dumb shipping containers :P

Sure, they’re fancy, but you all know I prefer a good old clamshell to something like this that costs more to produce. I might be the only one that holds that opinion, but I’ll die on that hill!

*booing from the crowd*

Okay fine fine fine, let’s just get on with it!

I gotta say, Jaka is quickly becoming one of my favorite customizers out here man. Like they have not missed a beat in their last several figures and they’ve just really been impressing me lately!

When it comes to design translation, the head is a pretty good likeness to the real Mister Christopher Hemsworth. The beard patterning/layering is also neat for a lego print. Though, the more I’ve looked at it, the “angry” side is a bit… simple. Like the goatee area is the same shape despite the mouth being open, and the eyebrows look nearly the same between the two expressions, but I do enjoy what Jaka did with both sets of eyes.

The 360 prints for both torsos and legs are also solid, though they do suffer a little from alignment issues. This could very well be a case of “Andrew just got the one weird one of the bunch” because the leg alignment at each of the for corners of the parts are better that the connections around the torso.

Also I’m an idiot for not taking some comparison photos of it, but this fig has two different shades of Gunmetal Grey! The base layer (the darker gunmetal) is Lego’s official plastic color, but the brighter silver-y gunmetal is nice and shiny and looks super cool in person!

And can we just talk about how we got two torsos with the one fig? Like hell yeah! BlackStar could learn a thing or two about that! Two torsos are WAY better than one! There’s no way in hell that a torso would crack by swapping arms when you just provide us with two torsos! :P

No arm swapping is a big win in my book! I’d hate to cause any problems to figs when they’re this expensive!
