BlackStar's BTAS Bruce Wayne Review (Patreon)

Oh hey cool! It’s BlackStar’s latest, newest, and freshest (shh... yes I know this fig has been completed, shipped out to me, and sitting on my desk for months! I’ve been super behind on reviews!) 

It’s a simple fig by BlackStar’s standards, but a nice addition to their Animated Series lineup! So how about a quickie review!

It came in an unnecessarily shrink wrapped fancy shipping case with a little cardstock sleeve and a certified sticker and… well look, what I’m saying is that it’s always a bit much when all you need is a classic clamshell.

Not to mention that inside the two layers of containment, the fig was also sealed into a plastic bag that you’d think is like super sterile or whatever… but nope. The fig was super dusty… weird.

The fig was also sent out with some yellow hands and a yellow head. They feel like a waste, or quite possibly filler so that price could be bumped up(?) Same thing goes for the fact that this came with two fleshy heads, when clearly it could have been just one doubled sided print…

It’s funky because the original BlackStar BTAS Batman fig didn’t have an alternate yellow head… so why did this fig include one…?

And no, before you ask, the print doesn't line up with the original BTAS cowl eye holes. However if you tuck a bit of paper inside the cowl like I did here, it works okay... sorta...

Lastly, the hair is really well produced! We all know that BlackStar really knocks it out of the park with their custom elements! No shocker there. Uh… yeah… I’m already running out of things to say…

It is a bit odd that this fig wasn’t the one to originally come with Batman… Robin would have made more sense to be in this fig’s place… but hey… idk

Honestly this fig at base level should have been around a $50 starting value, but was pumped up to $70 with the extra doodads and fancy packaging that I couldn’t care less for.

In my final thoughts, I feel like this one was an overpriced take-it-or-leave-it fig. It makes sense to snag it if you already have BlackStar’s BTAS original two-pack but uh… it’s not quite a glowing recommendation.

Just sorta rides the fence of cool if you think it’s cool or boring if you think it’s boring, but there's no way in hell you could lean one way or the other. It’s just some guy in a suit and a robot face! So take that what you will!
