Abnormal and LifeBrick have teamed up to bring us the devil of Hell’s Kitchen! Or rather, four devils of Hell’s Kitchen to be more accurate!

Geez… preorders are no joke man

At $207 for the initial pair of figs in the big red tin, these two average out to be a bit over a $100 per fig… and when it comes to LifeBrick figs, you can really see your money in their final products.

However there’s the Abnormal equation to these figs that… well… we’ll get into…

The initial two-pack arrived unnecessarily shrink wrapped in a big fancy expensive looking red tin with a bunch of foam around the figs. Pretty stock standard for LifeBrick, but always a bit overkill if I’m honest.

My first thoughts while staring at them in this little box were that yes, they look stunning! The prints are SO clean! No doubt the contributions of LB’s half of the collab! Not to mention that the design translation is 1:1 as is LifeBrick’s standard!

The first thing I noticed was that the hands on thees two figs were different from the initial preorder render. On the Ninja Suit they were to be two-toned black/light flesh and the main suit was to have dark red hands (both of which you can still see on the collectors card). Never heard about LB/AB making an announcement about that change… feels like it might have been a corner cut. …who knows!

I had the plan to swap the half-tone hands out with some white Eclipsgrafx hands anyway (which you’ll see later in the studio photos) so it wasn’t a total loss personally. However I could easily see this irritating people… it’s like the PCB Mando hands all over again!

The legs on the Ninja Suit are completely custom printed in a darker than dark grey color which feels probably a bit unnecessary but it does have a more screen-accurate look… so I’m cool with it! But get this! The hips on my copy were assembled backwards! Can’t say I’ve ever seen that happen on a custom fig on this high end of the scale! Really weird stuff honestly. Like… how do they miss that?!

The 3D design work for the head wrap and rope wraps (or whatever you wanna call em) look great! But get this! *drumroll please!*

*badudududdudmdumdumdun-TISS*

The headpiece isn’t tight! WOO! It’s a functional custom headpiece from a fig by two brands that have really let me down in the past! I’m shocked that they finally got their part-sizing fixed after so many irritations!

But I digress... because taking a look at the Red Suit, again, that helmet is so cool! The printing all around it is fantastic! Those shiny red eyes! And best of all, it fits correctly!

Woo!

This two-pack also came with a really neat pair of magnetized escrima sticks that can be held separately or together at any point! The magnet strength is pretty decent too!

Of course outside of the cool parts, I knew I had to compare this new DD fig to the classic 2015 Phoenix Customs DD (which up until now was the best Netflix Daredevil on the custom market).

Looking at them side by side, this new one just blows PCB out of the water! The 360 print alone kicks that fig out, but the custom helmet tossed in there! Forget about it man!

For what it’s worth, this initial two-pack gets it right (what a relief!) But strap in, because there’s more Daredevil coming tomorrow!
