Well I thought since we were on a roll with the Spider-Man figs over the last few days, I think we could chat about this fella I got a little while back! (yeah I know I’m a little late to the party for this fig)

It’s not the first time Jaka’s filled in for LifeBrick where we needed them most, so let's again give Jaka a big round of applause for filling LifeBrick’s h- WAIT!

*reshuffles my notes*

AHEM

This fig was a collaboration project of two brands I thought I’d never see work together! Not only that, but there’s a few first’s for both designers as well! (BlackStar’s first non-Batman fig, and Jaka’s first No Way Home Spider-Fig!)

The two designers must have really meshed well together because their final product is wonderful!

This mean green goblin machine arrived in Jaka’s sleek clamshell and included some bonus figs of their Avengers Thor and Kate Bishop (that only just recently arrived - thanks to the Royal Mail kerfuffle)

Shockingly, there were a whopping 222 copies of these figs made! Looking at the thing though, the quality here makes me think it couldn’t be done! How could they make so many figs and get them all to look this good?! I’m impressed!

The print is really clean, but the stand out here is the drum laqured speckled green! It’s a close match to standard Lego Green (which you can see Jaka/BlackStar opted not to apply to the hands) and it still looks great!

The amount of print and layered ink on this fella makes his joints really stiff to move though. It makes me wonder about the longevity of the underarm print and how that plastic will stress over time… but I’ll have to get back to you on that in like ten years.

Jaka’s work with designing faces has come a long way since their early days, and these two heads (four faces) included with the fig look great to represent Willam Defoe! I’m not as big of a fan of the shouting expression though. He’s got a single little baby top tooth that looks a little silly and too small for the mouth shaping imo

The custom hairpiece does a lot of the heavy lifting too, and really looks great with either head! It’s a shame you can’t use the Lego official hair at the same time as the shoulder cape though. It doesn’t quite fit right unfortunately, but you can see just how close it is to fitting!

Speaking of custom parts, this fig came with a nice handful of em! Two different styles of purple cowl, two wrist weapons, and a pumpkin bomb!

The pumpkin bomb is about two studs tall, and has a very thin wall at its stud-connection base. Oh and peekaboo! It’s Jaka’s brand logo! That’s a fun little Easter Egg :)

The rest of the little bomb is well printed, but I feel as though it could have benefited from being gold rather than a flat orange color. Regardless though, it’s still good and represents the thing well!

The gauntlets are also really nice! This fig (however it was packed) seemed to have led to some bending on one of my wrist blades though. Taking a real close look at it, I'm not entirely sure though if perhaps it was meant to be at such a triangular point… Maybe not though. In the movie both blades run straight and parallel so… that’s a bit of a bummer.

The hoods are also decent quality! Nothing too scrappy on the insides, nice and smooth on the outside. The shaping is also better than previous 'cloth' pieces from Jaka

These two flow much better than some of their other hard capes they’ve made in the past, and I really enjoy what they’ve got going here. Although, the hood-up piece is really tight on mine, and only went down over the head so far. Not the first time we’ve seen this with Jaka figs, but this one in particular looks a little silly, likes he’s got a cone head thing going on

A quick head swap with some of AmazingLee's Goblin faces makes this fig go even farther!

But all of that said! It was another $120 for another spider-fig and it still holds the line for quality in the field!

Good on Jaka and BlackStar for this one! Perhaps one day we’ll see BlackStar return to the limelight…

…I wonder where they’ve gone

Do they always come with cool water bottle stickers?
